Characters as fans
Crowley: Multi-shipper, smut writer, unironically uses "cringe" to describe fans he doesn't like, bribes his friends with reader-insert smut, notices continuity errors but is mostly here for the "vibes"
Rowena: Samgirl, hides her trashy-covered paperbacks from anyone who might see them
Jo: Deangirl, permanently moves to a different fandom & leaves up a note about women getting fridged
Castiel: Dean stan, blames OOC writing whenever Dean screws up
Adam: STILL gets pranked every year by the Mishapocalypse people
John: Everything he writes is "maybe pre-slash" Sam/Dean
Jack: Used to write bad fluff on Wattpad, now owns his own servers to preserve fandom content for all time
Death 1.0: Bibro, writes detailed meta about plotholes, occasionally smacks down someone's fanon nonsense
Billie: Refuses to consider anything canon if it happened after "Swan Song"

Ron x Harry. Ronarry. VERY OOC. Happens around 5th year
NOTE: pls forgive me for any errors or any ooc. English is not my first language.
This is me pushing my Ron x Harry agenda hehe!
Ron's not sure what he is feeling. He have felt something similar to this for quite a while now, and may have felt comfortable of it for a time but then...
As time passes by, it intensified. He could feel his heart beating louder as he stared at Harry, could feel the hairs on his arm and neck standing much longer as he felt his touch, and could feel his face heat up faster whenever he gets closer. Maybe he's sick? Maybe it comes with being a teenager? But if it is, then why hadn't others felt the same way as him.
"Oh Ron, you innocent summer child," Is the only thing that Hermoine said to him when he talked to her. She said that she felt something like that before, and is possibly feeling it everytime she receives a letter from a certain someone (probably Viktor Krum).
"Come on! What is it? I don't want to act like this around Harry! He's got enough in his plate as it is!" But still, Hermoine just said that she will not be answering his question and would just leave it to him to figure it out.
"It's better this way! You have to figure it out yourself." Yeah right... Better this way! He admits that he is not as intellectually gifted as Hermoine is, and maybe even a bit lost in some other aspects in life, which is why he has asked for her help. But now that she refused to help him, he would just have to ask other people!
The twins could help.
Oh how wrong he was.
"Are you saying that our little Ronnie..."
"...is feeling something so strange..."
"...around our little Harry?" He nodded in answer, praying that this time, the twins wouldn't do the same as Hermoine and just leave him hanging.
"Well... I don't know if we should tell you..." George said, his eyebrows scrunching seriously. Fred then whispered something to George, something that may have stopped his other twin from considering the options.
They said the same thing as Hermoine.
"It's better if you figure it out, Ron. Besides, you have our blessing if ever you did figure this out." And the twins left with a wink.
He groaned, thinking of another person that he could ask about it on. He could try Neville.
"I've felt that once. It feels like you wanted to be around this person so much, but at the same time you feel a heavy almost like euphoric feeling." He felt hope with Neville. But then he dished out how it was better that he would discover it himself.
Well then, Seamus and Dean it is.
"Look Ron, we heard about this from the twins and they asked us to give you a hint. You could say that... You are feeling something much deeper than friendship." Then they left him wondering more. Much deeper than friendship? Of course he does feel something like that! He followed him on a life-threatening adventure in their first year for goodness sake! Not to mention he continuously would do that for years to come.
And now that the threat of Voldemort came back? Well, he's going to go to the front lines for his best mate!
Nights will follow, and he would be up thinking about what it is that he is feeling for Harry. Honestly, he tried to act like nothing has changed, that everything is the same.
He's still always beside Harry, making sure that he is eating enough, staying safe from bullies (darn Inquisitorial Squad and Umbridge!), having enough time for himself (considering that he is teaching them DADA), and that he is sleeping well. Not that Harry couldn't do all that but sometimes he just needs a little boost, you know? A little reminder that he shouldn't neglect himself.
As someone who has been friends with Harry ever since the beginning of their Hogwarts life, he could say with confidence that he knows his best mate well. Which is why he was one of the first ones to notice how he is acting quite differently.
"Harry," he called out as the teen just entered the common room. It was in the middle of the night, no one's left awake except for him and Harry. Harry who is twitching and holding his right hand.
"R-Ron, why are you still awake?"
"I was waiting for you," And worried for you.
"Well... I'm here now. You should go to bed. I'm going to follow soon." But before Harry could go upstairs, Ron marched towards him and gently reached for the hand that he is nursing. Harry lightly hissed, but is not stopping him from looking at whatever it is that is hurting him.
On his hand, an inflamed carving on his skin reads: "I must not tell lies".
At this very moment, he felt a different feeling altogether. Something welled inside of him, fiery anger that only came to him at certain situations. Righteous anger, not for him, but for Harry.
"Did that bloody cunt do this to you?" He calmly said, but deep inside he wants to shout. He wants to march down to where Umbridge is and give her a taste of her own medicine. Azkaban be damned.
"Ron, it's nothing-"
"This is nothing! I know for a fact what she is using on you, and it is illegal! This should stop! Is she only using this on you?! Is she targeting you because you're saying the truth?! I'm going to kill her! That arsehole will never know what's going to hit her!" In the middle of his rant, he didn't realize how he reached for his wand. He didn't also realize how he was marching towards the door, probably wanting to hex the hell out of Umbridge.
"Ron! Stop it!" Harry pulled him using his other hand, trying to stop him from whatever it is that he is going to do.
"Don't stop me, Harry! She needs to pay for what she did!"
"And what are you going to do?! Use the cutting spell on her? The unforgiveables?!"
"I would use it! She deserves it!" At that time, he knew that he has enough intent to use one of the unforgiveables. Despite being a Death Eater, Moody-Who-Is-Actually-Barty-Crouch-Junior taught them well of the said spells and well... he may have listened a bit too eagerly.
"Ron, enough! Why are you doing this for me?! I don't get why you're eager on fighting for me!" If there is anything else that he knows is evident with Harry, is that he has a low to non-existing self-worth. Past experiences, usually with adults that should have been guiding him, have rendered him questioning if he is worth the attention that others is giving him.
"Harry, you are worth fighting for! I understand that you are unfamiliar with this concept but, mate, you deserve everything good in life! At the same time, you don't deserve what Umbridge is doing to you. " Harry's green eyes started watering, tears threatening to fall from it. They both moved closer together, with Harry resting his head on his shoulder.
"But... Why? Why do YOU?"
Ron Weasley is a stupid stupid boy. He never expected his realization to happen in the middle of finding out Harry is being tortured by their DADA professor. He sighed, hugging Harry closer, tighter.
"Because... I care for you. We've been together for so long, mate. I... Love you." Harry let the dam broke after what he said, followed by a happy laugh. After a few seconds, Harry shifted.
"I love you too... for quite some time now." He whispered quietly, but it was enough for Ron's heart to start beating loudly.
That night, they decided that they're going to take things slow. They have the rest of their lives to figure things out and no Dark Lord is going to stop them. At the same time, they decided to contact Sirius and Remus. They'll know what to do with Umbridge's tortures, and to ask if there's any treatment for the scar that the Blood Quill leaves behind.
For now, they're satisfied with each other's warmth. For now, they're alive and together. They have each other and that's enough.

I don't even watch SPN but all the rants got me super intrigued, is it possible to get a layman's summary of what's going on? I think I understand why the Destiel canon confession thing got everyone mad but what happened after? What's the meta narrative everyone's talking about? Was there an expectation of something and they didn't deliver? Just super curious feel free to ignore if you don't have the time x
Hey anon! Sorry for flooding your dash haha. Layman’s summary is as follows:
Of the people watching SPN and shipping Destiel in season 15, most don’t expect it to be canon. A small group of people are providing meta being like it’s DEFINITELY going canon, but 500 times bitten 600 times shy, most don’t believe them. Now I wanna say, this meta - on the most part - makes sense. It does. It just assumes a smarter show than I think Supernatural is.
Season 12-15, from when Dabb takes over as showrunner, is emotionally about building a family around ‘Jack’ a nephilim child who considers Sam, Dean and Cas his ‘three dads’. They love him as a son, textually this is stated many times.
Season 15 is a meta narrative in which the characters face off against God, ‘the Author’. The Author also represents the SPN writers. Many people believed that this meant the end of the show would be Sam and Dean being ‘free’ of the narrative that had chained them, which is, to SPN’s credit, exactly what happened (if executed extremely fucking poorly.) The defeat of God is the one plot point in 15.19 I liked, even if I don’t like how it was done.
During this season and to be honest, many previous seasons, there’s a really subtle Dean/Cas narrative being drawn, and when I say ‘subtle’, I mean like, it’s loud for an intelligent show, but quiet for a CW show where nothing is written subtly. And this season, there’s a beautiful line being strung through about free will, about how Castiel had free will, how he fell for Dean, outside the narrative. Outside of the author’s intention. It matches up with the meta arc.
15.18 airs, Destiel goes canon with Cas’ confession, suddenly everything is on the table. The show REALLY IS intelligent enough to understand that amazing meta narrative; the characters falling in love outside the author’s plan. They really bring it into canon. Suddenly, all the bi flag lighting and weird tap dance scenes in this season make SENSE. And I mean that sincerely; it was like the arc of the season was completely locked into place with this. Everything had a place to fall into. Everyone is very excited for the end, because surely, surely, this being a grand epic narrative where one main character confesses to another, Castiel would not stay dead. The narrative had showed us that Dean loved him, through mixtapes given and unmatched grief for his death and choked off prayers. And tap dancing with lamps, if you read into that.
I think the problem is that the Dean/Cas arc was written subtly by the talented writers who love it, and for that reason it’s far better than anything else in season 15. And I think people wrongly assumed that Dean would be allowed to love a man in return, despite the narrative imperative he return Cas’ love (Cas being a character who has never really been treated the way he deserved, and a happy ending being the antithesis to Chuck/The Author’s desired tragic ending) Which brings us to
15.19 airs, and it’s a complete clusterfuck. The episode itself is the worst I’ve seen, hands down. The writing is terrible, the ending is anti-climatic, they have montages that are supposed to be emotional but just seem like random clips of random characters to completely incorrect music choices. Not only that, but the characters end the episode emotionally OOC in a way I’ve never seen before. At the start of the episode, Dean begs God/Chuck to bring Cas back to life. Chuck has the power to do this; we see this when he resurrects Lucifer from the same place Cas is. At the end of the episode, Jack, despite having acquired God’s powers, resurrects EVERYONE IN THE WORLD, but not Castiel. Castiel is not mentioned, by Jack - the son who adored him, and who he adored - and not by Dean - who had just received a love confession from him, and had not twenty minutes earlier begged God to kill him and Sam and bring back everyone especially Cas. Hello?
There are so many plotholes and canon continuity errors and dropped plot points with 15.19 but let me say the most glaring wrt Cas; in s15, Ruby asks Cas to free her from the Empty. She says it’s eternal suffering for demons and angels there. We know the Empty hates Cas. Lucifer, in this ep, mentions the Empty being a fucking nightmare. And yet DESPITE ALL OF THIS, Castiel is left there to suffer. And the writers it seems are pretending that the Empty is meant to be ‘peaceful’, despite this being mentioned nowhere in text.
At the end of the episode, Sam and Dean toast to Jack and Castiel, to the ‘ones they lost’ and then just seem to be happy and fine with everything. Sam doesn’t even mention his love interest, Eileen, who he had been panicking over being dead. And full smile coming from the man, Dean Winchester, who was textually suicidal last time he thought Castiel was dead. What??? But it really does seem like the family was just broken up without any emotional catharsis and Castiel’s confession won’t be addressed.
As far as we are aware, Misha Collins is not returning and the next ep is a Monster of the Week brother-centred ‘classic’ episode finale.
So basically; everything intelligent we thought was happening in the story was mostly a lie, Dean/Castiel was no-homo’d out of being a beautiful never before seen meta narrative love story (well, a reciprocated one), the family dynamic of Team Free Will was horribly broken up with no emotional coherence or catharsis, and most of this seems to be a poorly written excuse to have the two brothers alone again. Oh, and also, Castiel is an incredibly tragic queer figure who spent the whole show suffering, dying, and serving the man he loved, and got sent to super-turbo-hell for it. And NONE of the dropped plot threads or emotional threads are gonna be picked back up, barring a miracle surprise appearance from Misha Collins in 15.20 - but even then, how do you excuse Jack walking out, and forgetting to bring Cas back to life? How do you excuse Dean suddenly giving up on Cas as soon as it’s possible to revive him again... what, because he’s gay for Dean now? How do you excuse any of it?
#ask#anonymous#spn spoilers#supernatural spoilers#anon really like 'only if you have time' and I'm like. an excuse to rant about this shitshow? you indulge me#boys I swear if I am wrong about next week you can all charge me $100 each in damages I will be so happy I won't care

All this about Dean being ooc - if next week’s clip is not misleading and he is speaking to Castiel - is annoying. What was ooc was the change in narrative when Dabb took over from Castiel being a “useful tool” they called only when they needed his particular skills to that of bff/brother. It’s been the łast 3 seasons where Dean has been ooc in respect of Castiel. Dean looks like a right idiot, continually forgiving the being that betrays them time and time again - not helped by Sam being the one telling Dean to forgive him. If the writers have realised their error and are reversing that pandering narrative, I for one will be very happy going into Season 15. If on the other hand, Dean is forced to make an apology and backtrack (and worse, tell Castiel once again that he was right, I’m going to be pissed.)
I’m really hoping that this is setting Castiel’s storyline up for season 15 to justify that he won’t be around the brothers much (or mentioned every 5 minutes) and he’ll be on a separate quest to try to redeem himself (again), culminating in him sacrificing himself (giving him a good ending - again as he’s already had plenty of these), and allowing the Winchester storyline to be tied up for the remainder of the season.
Prays to the gods of good writing. Make it so.

Well, the latest episode was crumbly. Continuity errors, Dean not coming for his brother(?????????), dick jokes (rly I came here for some good slow burn and deep emotions between two exact men). It was kind of OOC and I don’t know how to feel about it. This episode wasn’t weak but it was kinda silly in some scenes and whole story itself. Gimme back good ol’ S12 and start of S13 shit. I don’t want to see all this stupidness like Satan, AU, mother Mary (give her a break come on), and Jack ajfnaunfaonf I don’t like him so much.

“Emotional linchpin”?? Does this moron even know what those words actually mean? Bad takes like this are what happens when these dumbasses only watch the episodes with the idiot angel and ignore anything that doesn’t support their crappy ship.
Dean blew off Asstiel’s crappy pep talk in 15.02 Raising Hell and then finally told him off for fucking up yet again in 15.03 The Rupture. Asstiel went off in a snit like a self-absorbed brat and barely interacted with Dean until they were forced to go to Purgatory in 15.09 The Trap, where Dean was prepared to abandon Ass there (again) even after that ridiculous OOC apology. Dean and Asstiel proceeded to have minimal direct interaction (other than 1 brief conversation about Jack in 15.12 Galaxy Brain) until 15.18 Despair, when Dean’s reaction to Asstiel’s ridiculous OOC confession was [ERROR 404]. Dean grieved briefly over Ass’ death just like all the other times and then didn’t mention him once after Chuck’s defeat and barely reacted when others brought him up.
Sam and Dean meanwhile spent the entire season supporting and taking care of each other and keeping each other’s hopes up. Sam was the one who convinced Dean to stand down in 15.17 Unity because Dean couldn’t sacrifice Sam even to defeat Chuck. Once freed of Chuck’s manipulations, they chose to continue living together, hunting together, and enjoying their lives together. When Dean was dying, he spent his last few minutes reassuring Sam and expressing his love for his baby brother. Sam spent the rest of his life mourning Dean while raising the son he’d named after his big brother, while Dean spent his time in Heaven driving around while waiting for Sam. The show finally ended with Sam and Dean happy after being reunited in the afterlife. So which relationship again was “shouldering all the emotional weight”??
Nope
If you actually watch the episodes, s15 is still about the brothers.

Lots of people are freaking out about ooc dean bc of the underwear thing and how so many people believe he's a germaphob! I haven't watched the episode yet, what do you think?
That’s why I said never really because I do have to admit, that scene threw me off for a second. Otherwise it was so superficial that I’m willing to overlook it on the basis that he’s new to the writing team.
All three episodes he’s written so far have been stellar (imo), and (spoilers?) he’s done so much to redeem Crowley’s character for me, which is a feat because if I’m being honest I was ready for them to get rid of him once and for all. So small continuity errors aside, this dude is quickly becoming one of my favourite writers on the show-- especially if he keeps this up.
#if it were a seasoned spn writer i'd be a bit more miffed#but generally it was really well done#so colour me impressed i guess?#idk#anika answers#anon#Anonymous

I don't necessarily wanna be a showrunner, but...
I’d want a job where they bring someone in who’s non-biased on the show, just watches the show for what it is, and right before they hand out the final script, they hand it over to this person, to they can check for continuity errors and completely scrap a part of it if it’s completely OOC for anyone. This person would basically have final authority over what does and doesn't stay in the script.
Examples:
*Looking over Lucifer's lines* Wait a minute. Michael is not the little brother. That's why Dean was chosen as Michael's vessel. Because he's he first born son. *crosses out little, writes in big*
*Reads season finale* Why are these lines for Crowley scrapped? It sounds very appropriate for Crowley character. I say these lines stay. *Adds lines back into script*

I like Liam just fine and I can see why people like the cast, but my main worry is that the series will get milked to death because it’s so popular, filler contributing to a lot of that (it happened to The Freshman+ series).
I also don’t want to see the outrageous spike in diamond choices in this series, which I feel will inevitably happen. For example, The Freshman’s first book cost a grand total of 650 diamonds, while The Senior’s first chapter alone cost a grand total of 315 diamonds, including all LI/Zack routes and hairstyles. The grand total of The Senior’s diamond cost is 1,148, 56.6% more than The Freshman book 1’s diamond cost.
Another thing I don’t want (this one is a lot more reasonable, trust me) is the kind of filler where your spouse says “Hey, you can have extramarital relations if you want, I want you to be happy”. That’s exactly what RCD did, and it felt extremely OOC for some of the LIs. And it would feel especially out of character for the TRR/TRH love interests.
They also let you have sex with all the LIs in D&D book 2 on the same day, which would’ve been a huge scandal realistically and pissed all the LIs (especially Sinclaire, whose wife cheated on him) off, but we got off scot-free because PB wants their money.
PB created Rules of Engagement: Newlyweds, which in essence, is pretty similar to this book, it seems. Created to satisfy players who romanced Dean, William, Leo, Mira, Blake, Carter, Audrey, and Elena. I was very happy to get more time with Dean and Mira, but...god, the book was so unneeded.
Continuity errors, OOC Elena, another party full of people who I really didn’t care about, then MC reveals she’s pregnant and boom, that’s the end. They really should’ve just ended it at book 3, this book was a waste of resources. In fact, I think this book may have been part of the reason they’re not allowed to write short books anymore.
Just...as long as this book/series doesn’t pull any BS or turn out like the other filler book (RoE: Newlyweds), I probably won’t complain too much. Probably.
The Royal Heir needs to pick up the pace in its storytelling
Chapter 1 was pure filler. Even though I loved getting to spend time with King Liam and enjoying our honeymoon, the only important thing that even happened was the flash of light MC saw and discussing having a baby with our LI, even though we’ve talked about it before and we KNOW that MC and LI will have a baby.
I get that it’s only the first chapter, and I’m trying not to be too quick to judge. But the overwhelming majority of the chapter was filler, fluff, and diamond scenes.
In chapter one of ILB, MC and Elliot’s parents are murdered, they move to an entirely new town, and MC witnesses a freaking skeletal ghost drag their new friend to a watery grave.
In chapter one of Endless Summer, MC and their classmates narrowly survive a plane disaster (which is later revealed to be the eruption of a supervolcano that kills everyone on earth but them and those on La Huerta) and discover the hotel they’re staying at has been completely deserted.
in chapter one of Open Heart, MC starts their first day of internship at Edenbrook Hospital and save the life of a patient with the help of their idol and mentor, Dr. Ethan Ramsey. They later treat their own patient who falls unconscious and forces MC to call a code blue.
In chapter one of High School Story, MC enters Berry High as the new kid and forms a friendship with Emma while also meeting the other students at school. Relationships between students and MC are established and briefly touched upon, letting us get to know the dynamic of the school and the demeanor of the students.
In chapter one of The Royal Romance, MC meets Liam and his entourage at his bachelor party. A connection is made between the two as they strike up a conversation and become almost immediate friends. Maxwell immediately notices this and offers to sponsor MC, offering her an official invitation to what turned out to be a quite literal rags to riches story.
In chapter one of The Royal Heir, MC and her spouse go on their honeymoon. The waiter who serves them suspects MC is pregnant, leading MC and her spouse to talk about having a baby. They proceed to have sex. Lots of sex. MC sees a light at one point. She can pay diamonds to take a naughty picture of her spouse (honestly, I think all the male spouses look incredibly awkward and Hana’s was the best, but I digress), then the spouse introduces a “surprise” at the end.
The point is, there were plenty of Choices books with an important first chapter that introduced important characters, conflicts, or helped let the reader know what was going on in terms of dynamic and environment. TRH’s first chapter just consisted of sex, honeymoon tomfoolery, a mysterious flash of light, and talk of a baby.
Now, the real issue I have is that TRR is sort of infamous for its filler, especially in TRR book 3. Countless parties, galas, dances, you name it. I understand that regaining favor from the nobles was important, but you know what was MORE important? Stopping Anton and the terrorists that have bombed the palace, shot and wounded people at the homecoming ball, poisoned the Countess of Fydelia, killed the former king and queen, and tried to assassinate both King Liam and MC several times.
But instead, we were forced to plan out our wedding while attending galas and parties, some of which were subject to attack or assassination attempts. Not only this, but we still went through with all the parties, dances, and even the royal fricking wedding, with TERRIBLE security. MC and her bridesmaids fought back and fended off trained assassins with ease, using only office supplies. The reason they had to fight? Because apparently MC’s trained bodyguard and security forces couldn’t fend off assassins who went down at the hands of angry bridesmaids with office supplies. How goddamn ridiculous is that?!
The Royal Romance is a good series. I like it, I like most of the characters, and I like the general plot of it all. But DAMN, the filler! The incredible amounts of filler. If The Royal Heir follows the same formula as TRR book 3, each major event in the story will take two or three chapters purely because of all the filler.
