i do think it’s very important that liam pointed out specifically that no matter how hardheaded orym is in what he believes he doesn’t let that stop him from seeking dorian out for comfort and wanting dorian close to him and dorian quickly reciprocating. i think that’s especially important when so many people thought that their opposing sides would drive them further apart (especially on orym’s part) when in actuality we learned that orym’s love for dorian is SO fucking strong that it it supersedes his hardheadedness which when you remember who orym is, is actually a big fucking deal

I think Orym's position here is such a great one to depict, because the reality of any form of political organizing you will find someone who will not budge. This is fundamentally neutral, though someone like this can certainly have a position you find repugnant. It doesn't matter. This is the reality of dealing with that person. If someone will under no circumstances change their position - especially if it's informed by personal experience - that doesn't mean they are a good or bad person or their position is justified or not, but it does mean that to get them on your side, either you will have to find a way to appeal to them, not the other way around, or you will have to move forward without their support.
When encountering someone like this, you can bang your head against the brick wall and tell them about the superiority of your position for as long as you want, but unless you dip into threats and coercion or worse, you really cannot make them do anything they don't want to, no matter how eloquently you speak. There's considerable power in being that person.
(For what it's worth, I think he's perhaps the truest foil to Ludinus in this respect; I believe Ludinus's beliefs to be just as deeply ingrained and immutable. The key difference is that Orym is not in any way responsible for the death of Ludinus's family, or like, Molaesmyr, so when they move into the moral part of the argument instead of simply the blunt reality of unmoving objects, he does have a significant advantage.)

liam as a wingleader whewww chile why are my pants dropping already
wingleader Mairi… 😵‍💫🫠
it sounds good, we all know it would look good, and he’d be so good at it too. he’s top of his class, tactful in battle, has a signet that can keep his wing out of danger, and he’s deeply caring — he’d be so nurturing to the cadets in his command and so approachable and easy to talk to if they had any issues.
and he’s everyone’s unattainable crush. all the first year girls (and a fair amount of the guys, honestly) are madly in love with him from conscription day forward. even more than there were with Xaden, because Liam isn’t as scary hsbshs
also… him writing to Xaden for advice when he found out he was getting the position 🥺
Sloane would be a little embarrassed by her bro being in charge, and probably give him shit for it, make fun of him as little siblings are prone to do, but she’d be so proud of him too. he’s taking after big bro Xaden and their mom the colonel… ugh I’ll cry.
I just know that Deigh is already so smug and proud of his perfect boy for being top of the class and good at literally everything, but he’d be so so proud of Li becoming a wingleader and being respected by the entire quadrant and looked up to as a leader and a stellar example.
Xaden was the first marked wingleader, and he didn’t give a fuck what people thought about him being marked, he was content to let them fear him because it meant they’d leave him alone. but Liam would make a genuine effort to be approachable and nice with everyone, like he did with Vi to start to convince her that they weren’t so bad 🥺
oh and of course he’s absolute couple goals with his cute little scribe / healer girlfriend, whoever that may be. those crushing cadets are disappointed to find this out at first until they see them together and realize how freaking adorable they are together. and of course, she’s also top of her class, in a leadership position in her quadrant. (sucks that we don’t know those titles and the other quadrant structures… I need them for a fic lol)

Y'know as much as I love the new lore drops of Bill's backstory after so long and the new works and headcanons and aus made with Bill's parents, I am kinda sad that it essentially dethrones @pengychan 's flat dreams fic from what a lot of people probably accepted as his backstory, even if just fanon. If only for the sole purpose that Liam wouldn't exist.
but then I remembered I could do whatever the fuck I want.
So in my personal au, I like to think that Liam does exist and still is Bill's brother, but their roles would be reversed (ages can stay the same or swap, either would work for different dynamics). Bill would be the treated irregular child. Liam would be the 'right' one. Just an average triangle in Euclydia, with normal eyes not made to see the stars. I think he'd still read to Bill, still spend whatever time he can with him. Not because it's all he can really do constrained, but because of his own love and care for his brother, accepting even if he doesn't exactly understand him. Liam would be happy for the most part, healthy, and just living his best life as he can.
And Liam would be purple.

I love where Laudna's arc is at and where it's going. Of all the lines that hit me right in the chest in episode 95, "It's just Delilah" was just... That one hit less like a punch to the sternum and more like having the air sucked out of my lungs.
Much like she did to Orym.

“You don’t want me to trust you?” “You said it yourself,” Theo says coldly. “Last time you guys trusted me, I killed Scott.” “But that was before,” Liam says — the sentence hangs there, complete yet incomplete, suggesting that Theo is a product of change, the after, but without revealing where, exactly, the line between before and after is drawn. Before what? Before he spent months in a Skinwalker prison with only his zombie of a sister for company? Or something else?
post-canon. thiam have a Conversation.

Liam to Theo: so it’s like this. there’s a hierarchy. if stiles says he doesn’t like you, we all ignore it. because stiles is an asshole, and he only likes scott. but if scott says he doesn’t like you, we have to listen. because scott likes everyone, so there’s gotta be something really wrong with you for scott to think you’re weird.
