Convict Lake in Fall Foliage, is another beautiful Lake that we visited on our way Home from our Eastern Sierras and Yosemite Trip last month, on October 18, 2022. This lake was named Convict Lake, because some Prisoners escaped Jail in Carson City, NV and made their way here, where they got into a shoot out encounter with a Sheriff Police Officer back in September 17, 1871. Since then, there have been Movie Filmings here including Star Trek, and commercials for Nature Valley Granola Bars. Now it had a Resort and many boats in the Marina area. Convict Lake is about 10 miles away from the Mammoth Lakes area. Photographed with my Mom and Cousin Joy. Fall Colors just north of Mammoth Lakes - Silver Lake 🍂 Eastern Sierra Mountains. This one morning was so good, you can literally see all the fish waking up and plying right in front of your eyes. If you zoom in you can see some of them or at least these 2 big ones. I just loved it there, the mountains, the lake and everything about this place is heavenly. I took quite a lot of images while at Convict Lake… it was difficult to peel my eyes off the snowy range that surrounds the water, steep as tower walls. Very few people were about which was nice, and rare – a benefit of no open faculties. Today, our adventures on land gave way to water 🏞 Convict Lake, CA⁣ ⁣ Thus far, our road trip has taken us through several states and national parks. We've seen mountains, forests, deserts, rivers, and lakes galore. We explored each place by foot and by car. 👣🚘⁣ ⁣ However, today was the first time in our journey that my road trip partner-in-crime @wonderwoman_514 found a good opportunity to bring out her brand new inflatable paddle board for us to enjoy 😍⁣ ⁣ It was surprisingly light and easy to inflate.
