While I definitely headcanon the boy as a person with a PTSD, I think a lot of his traits that people in fandom interpret as signs of troubled personality are just an archaic system of values.

Honour and glory being more important than compassion, an open fight being more honourable than scheming, etc.

does color go by sans or?

I haven’t found anything that talks about color’s views on either of his names—likely because Othertale wasn’t centered around him, Undyne was the main focus.

However, in the comics/series/‘canon’ Othertale, other characters such as Gaster and ‘her’ refer to Color as “sans”—and I’m pretty sure Core called him “sans” too when they showed up. I’ll have to double check sometime.

A lot of this is likely because “canon” color didn’t yet know anything concrete about aus or the multiverse, outside of a brief interaction with core frisk that he wasn’t even sure was real. so he and others didn’t really have any reason to call him anything different.

that being said, outside of canon Othertale or perhaps in timelines where he managed to escape the Void into the rest of the Multiverse/Omega Timeline, color is referred to exclusively by color—such as by delta, epic, killer, members of the abyss team, etc.

when, why, how, he all came to be called “color” is left up to various interpretations and headcanons by the fandom now. i personally think he always felt weird being called sans after absorbing the six souls, but perhaps didn’t think to call himself a different name for awhile. probably because he felt there was more pressing matters to attend to, such as getting out of the Void.

i just think being trapped in the Void for anywhere between 17 to 23 years, give or take, gave Color a lot of time to think and think and think. so perhaps gaster gave him a little push by offering name changes, regardless of if color ever actually took him up on it or not at the time.

although everyone else can feel free to share their own interpretations and headcanons about this.

Stupid little (crossover?) idea where shinra finds out about eldritch beings (aside from jenova) but everyone they keep sending to talk to/research them keeps going insane/blind/both, so they have to end up using sephiroth, who is genetically immune to cosmic horror, as a translator and first responder, but he's neither a scientist nor particularly literary, so getting actual descriptions from him is deeply frustrating for everyone involved.

I'm mainly thinking magnus archives or bloodborne or something but it could stand on its own.

Something like this fic written by @snowalwayslandsontop probably happens to get to this point.

Gaul's probably cackling with joy that she gets to do mpreg (again? citation needed???). For funsies, I think they should have twins (sorry Felix, who I imagine is the one pregnant... Gaul would want the Ravinstill of the pair to be the one pregnant). The twins are named Crassus Ravinstill and Maximinius Snow for maximum cold, aloof father figure damage. (or maybe Gaul would make them both get pregnant?) I don't think Coriolanus is compromising with hyphenation for his last name but he can't for political reasons while Max is president force Felix to change his.

If Felix fucking kills himself after Coriolanus gets busy gaining influence/running the country to get Coriolanus' attention after the marriage takes a turn, I think Max (President Ravinstill) becomes catatonic in a chair which doesn't help Coriolanus try and spin the media away from the truth

If Felix decides to spontaneously kill Max for Coriolanus' approval instead of himself, Coriolanus now thinks that the genre of his life has changed from political drama where he climbs up the ladder of influence into a dark romance from his nightmares. Coriolanus has lost his footing on what is going on

I always wondered why Durin died in such a relatively good mood but Elynas' words make it make more sense. It's not that Venti's music kinda hypnotised him to make him stop attacking Mondstat; it's that he was just playing the whole time. Unfortunately, his idea of playing terrified and hurt the populace.

It's also interesting that Elynas has the potential to be brought back to life despite being an entire literal pile of bones. But it begs the question of what death is, if it is not a true death. What is it that makes his bones and his being remain, when all the small things we kill turn to dust? Why does Durin's heart still beat? Is Durin the mountain, now? Is the reason Dragonspine is so dangerous that, even now, he does not understand his own strength?

I finished the first svsss book! my thoughts:

this book immediately latched its hooks into my brain the same way the untamed did. what the fuck. how did it hook me so quickly. I liked the mdzs novels and the tgcf donghua, but svsss and the untamed fucking did something to my brain chemistry

I am such an enormous sucker for Narrative Is Alive stories, especially when both the character and narrative are aware of each other and can interact. Every interaction between SQQ and the System was a delight

Spoiler-y thoughts under the cut

having absorbed most of my knowledge of this series from the fanart put on my dash, I was surprised by SQQ's kindness. I expected him to be a hater (which he is) and kind of detached (which he is, but for dissociating reasons) but his kindness is surprisingly earnest. Sure he tries to couch it in self saving (haha) reasons since he wants to avoid original!SQQ's fate, but he does genuinely seem to care for his disciples quite a bit

speaking of him genuinely caring and the dissociating, HOO BOY. THE GRIEF HUH? "why do my disciples keep claiming I'm out of my mind with grief, I'm feeling and acting perfectly normal" <- says the guy whose days have passed in a haze since he was forced to throw someone very dear to him into an abyss, who has periodically forgotten he's gone and called out to him, who has sat at his grave and mourned. Jesus christ dude. I know the heartbreak points are for Binghe but they are also for me

I was somewhat prepared for Binghe's puppyboy devotion by the fanart, but oh my god this dude has some self worth issues. The guy who has been abusing him suddenly changes his tune and is nice to him, and he's immediately in malewife mode like omg shizun can I cook for you 🥺 shizun can I attend to your every need 🥺 shizun I feel so safe around you 🥺 Binghe babygirl you have serious problems
