The rant of Hervé Renard
A month after allowing Amel Majri to come to Les Bleues with her baby, Hervé Renard deemed it “inconceivable” that a woman could not pursue her sports career and her life as a mother. Called to the rescue following the fatal coup in Corinne Deacon, Hervé Renard did not miss his big debut at the head of the France team in early April. OC fun fact - my Adaar says he's a rogue. In reality, he is (in his own opinion) a very bad mage. Really, he's a very undertrained mage, due to the fact he came into his magic super late (almost 16, as compared to his younger brother at 6). He's going to train in it post Solas arm knocking off because he /was/ a dual wield and now he can't really dual wield now can he, Fen'Harel? Oh well, the dread wolf is gonna get a new force mage on his furry ass eventually because I like irony.
Fuck yes, destroy him, Adaar.
Corinne is…. not a bad mage, but she’s a mage who’s naturally talented at primal magic, but refuses to use it because of trauma (she accidentally killed one of her friends as a kid, before she was fully trained). She doesn’t like being a mage and while she trains in Creation magic, uses it as little as possible. Like, I made an rpg character sheet for her. She has the primal magic focus despite having 0 primal spells.
Post-DA2 she’s getting over her trauma though and while she still doesn’t use primal magic, or anything that causes actual harm, she’s happy to use creation magic in battles.

Media were the first to talk about Diacre versus Lyon players conflict. They again are the one to go on and on with this story and it generates more pressure on the group.
It is time to shut up and let them fix things inside if things are fixable. And if nothing is possible (I don’t think it is although I want to be optimistic) I hope NLG will be courageous enough to put the team first.
Let’s not forget however that it is a conflict between Diacre and Lyon players which turned into a conflict within the whole team. Sadly the media never gave a chance to Diacre criticising even her absence of smille.
Harsh comments were made by people like Pedros because Reynald Pedros was salty about him not getting the job.
Is Diacre the best coach ever?
NO
Did media in France treat her fairly as a coach?
Never.

A few days after their engagement party, Buck and Laura started planning their wedding. Buck had forgiven his parents for the way they treated him after Daniel died, but he wasn't interested in having a relationship with them, and therefore, they weren't going to be involved in the wedding. Instead of a mother/son dance, there was going to be a brother/sister dance.
Laura was a fan of the 1987 movie Dirty Dancing. She and Buck took a private dance class and asked the instructor to choreograph a dance to I've Had the Time of My Life by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes.

It was time for Buck and Laura's first dance as a married couple.
Buck stood up.
Buck took his blazer off and hung it on the back of his chair. He made his way to the dance floor.
Laura stood up.
Laura made her way to the dance floor.
The DJ spun a disc, and I've Had the Time of My Life by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes started playing.
The photographer was standing a few inches away from the stage. He began videotaping. Laura had asked him to videotape her and Buck's first dance as a married couple and e-mail the video to her.
Now, I've had the time of my life.
Buck put his right hand on Laura's back and his left hand on her waist. He lowered her body backward. She tilted her head back. He swung her to the left. He pulled her toward him until their foreheads touched.
No, I've never felt like this before.
Buck stood behind Laura. She put her right arm in the air. His right hand moved downward until it was on her waist.
Yes, I swear, it's the truth
And I owe it all to you.
Laura's right arm slowly moved downward. Her fingertips brushed against the back of Buck's head. She turned her head and looked at him. She slowly moved her hand downward and wrapped it around her torso until it connected with the hand he had on her waist.
'Cause I've had the time of my life
And I owe it all to you.
Buck used his free hand to push Laura's body outward. She spun and moved his hand so that it was beside her. He pulled her toward him.
I've been waiting for so long
Now I've finally found someone to stand by me
We saw the writing on the wall
As we felt this magical fantasy
Now with passion in our eyes
There's no way we could disguise it secretly
So, we take each other's hand
'Cause we seem to understand the urgency.
Buck put his right hand on Laura's back and his left hand on her waist. He pressed her up against his chest, and they began to sway, their feet following the intricate patterns they had learned for weeks on end. She raised her arms and wiggled them.
Just remember
You're the one thing
I can't get enough of
So, I'll tell you something
This could be love, because
I've had the time of my life
No, I've never felt this way before
Yes, I swear, it's the truth
And I owe it all to you.
Buck made his way to the back of the room, his hips subtly shaking with each movement. Laura stood still.
With my body and soul
I want you more than you'll ever know
So, we'll just let it go
Don't be afraid to lose control
No
Yes, I know what's on your mind
When you say stay with me tonight
Stay with me
And remember
You're the one thing
I can't get enough of.
Buck turned around with a flourish and made his way toward Laura, his hips subtly shaking with each movement. They made eye contact. He raised his right hand, palm upward, and beckoned her closer by repeatedly moving his curled index finger toward her.
So, I'll tell you something
This could be love, because
I've had the time of my life
No, I've never felt this way before
Yes, I swear
Yes, I swear
It's the truth
And I owe it all to you.
Laura ran forward. When she reached Buck, she jumped and stretched her arms horizontally to the sides. He put his hands on her hips and lifted her over his head.
The crowd cheered.
'Cause I've had the time of my life
And I've searched through every open door
'Til I found the truth
And I owe it all to you
Now, I've had the time of my life
No, I've never felt this way before
Never felt this way
Yes, I swear, it's the truth
And I owe it all to you
I've had the time of my life
No, I've never felt this way before
Never felt this way
Yes, I swear, it's the truth
It's the truth
And I owe it all to you
'Cause I've had the time of my life
And I've searched through every open door
'Til I found the truth
And I owe it all to you.
As Buck lowered Laura toward the floor, she felt the slight pressure of his fingers in her sides. He let go of her when her feet were on the floor.
The photographer stopped videotaping.
The DJ stopped spinning the disc.
Buck returned to his seat. Laura stayed on the dance floor.
It was time for the father/daughter dance.
The DJ spun a disc, and I'll Be Your Man by Zac Brown Band started playing. Laura liked that song and wanted it to play during the father/daughter dance.
You're going to make the finest mama someday
Some man will take you away
But until then
Chase down your dreams
Laugh all the time and believe
That love's going to conquer all things
So, until then
I'll be your man.
Rodney walked up to Laura. He wrapped his arms around her waist, and she put her hands on his shoulders. They began to sway. The photographer took a picture of them.
There was a time when I thought I knew love
Until you came into this world
Time keeps on flying
But you're always going be my baby girl
So, as you walk through this life, you will see
The world's what you want it to be
But until then
Go on and dance
Dance like there's no one around
Never stop singing out loud
And until then
I'll be your man
There was a time when I thought I knew love
Until you came into this world
Time keeps on flying
But you're always going to be my baby girl
Go have a ball
Take every chance that you make
You know I'll be one call away
I'll always be
I'll always be your man
Hold on, child
Hold on tight to your old man
Hold on, child
Hold on tight to your old man
I'm going to hold you tight
Under my wing long as I can
Hold you tight
Under my wing long as I can
Hold on, child
Sweet child of mine
Hold on tight to your old man
Hold on, child
Hold on tight to your old man
Hold you tight
I'm going to hold you tight
Under my wing long as I can
You're my, my, my, girl
Under my wing long as I can
I'll be your man.
The DJ stopped spinning the disc.
Rodney let go of Laura. They returned to their seats.
It was time for the brother/sister dance.
The DJ spun a disc, and Jada Facer and Kyson Facer's cover of Hey, Brother by Avicii started playing. Maddie stumbled across the cover on YouTube one day and showed it to Buck, and they decided to have the DJ play it during the brother/sister dance.
Hey, brother
There′s an endless road to rediscover
Hey, sister
Know the water's sweet but blood is thicker
Oh, if the sky comes falling down
For you
There′s nothing in this world I wouldn't do.
Maddie made her way to the dance floor. Buck walked up to her. He wrapped his arms around her waist, and she put her hands on his shoulders. They began to sway. The photographer took a picture of them.
Hey, brother
Do you still believe in one another?
Hey, sister
Do you still believe in love?
I wonder
Oh, if the sky comes falling down
For you
There's nothing in this world I wouldn′t do
What if I′m far from home?
Oh, brother, I will hear you call
What if I lose it all?
Oh, sister, I will help you out
Oh, if the sky comes falling down
For you
There's nothing in this world I wouldn′t do
Hey, brother
There's an endless road to rediscover
Hey, sister
Do you still believe in love?
I wonder
Oh, if the sky comes falling down

There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do.
The DJ stopped spinning the disc.
Buck let go of Maddie. They returned to their seats.
The reception ended at 10:00 p.m.
Buck and Laura's ranch
11:00 p.m.
Using her cell phone, Laura checked her e-mails. She saw the video of her and Buck's first dance as a married couple. She downloaded the video.
Laura opened her cell phone's Instagram app. She changed her last name from Smith to Buckley. She changed her username from LauraSmith to LauraBuckley. She posted the video of her and Buck's first dance as a married couple, tagged Buck, and added a caption. The caption read "Our first dance as a married couple."

Amandine Henry Le Progres Article
*pours glass of wine* OKAY KIDS, tonight we're going to sit through a French lesson and then we're going to have a proper discussion about why forcing a resurrection can have consequences. So basically two of my favorite things: French language and mythology.
LE PROGRES ARTICLE
OL Feminin: a desire to play elsewhere for Amandine Henry?
The 32-year-old midfielder has expressed a desire to play in a new league next season.
Left out of the French National Team by Corinne Diacre despite her stunning end of the season with OL (exemplified by her magnificent goal against Barcelona in the final of the Champions League), Amandine Henry will experience the 2022 Euros in front of the TV. And as such should be part of the core players summoned at the beginning of preseason set for mid-July, next to Le Sommer, who wasn't selected with the "Bleues" either.
That is to say unless the Lyon midfielder finds an off-ramp. Under contract with Lyon until 2023, the 32-year-old midfielder (14 of which have been spent with the club she described as the love of her life) recently let it be known that she wanted to experience other leagues, such as the WSL in England or the NWSL in the United States. Perhaps because of how stacked the Lyon midfield is going to be next season? Especially after having signed German international Sara Dabritz at the beginning of June, bringing the total of Lyon midfield to nine, despite Sára Björk Gunnarsdóttir to Juventus?
An Imposing Midfield Even With the Injuries
This area is stacked to say the less. Even with the nine midfielders listed (Dabritz, Horan, Damaris, Benyahia, Macario, Marozsan, Majri, van de Donk), three are out for the foreseeable future as things stand. Midfielder Catarina Macario, who suffered an ACL injury on June 1 during the last match of the season against Issy, will not be ready in time for the beginning of the season. Suffering the same injury in May, Dzsenifer Marozsan will be unavailable for a while as well. Just like Amel Majri, who, having recovered from her serious knee injury last fall, is due to give birth to her firstborn in July, and will enjoy maternity leave before returning.
Next to Damaris, Horan, and van de Donk, who returned to the group in May after a long-term injury (ruptured tendon in her right ankle), it's not like Amandine Henry will be lacking playing time when the team gets back together. Is that enough to curb her desire to play elsewhere? The Board of Directors, in any case, is not ready to let this core player leave.
*pours glass of wine* okay kiddos gather around the fire pit because tonight you are going to LEARN (1) why the fact I have been harping on about why/how Lyon defines love is so important, (2) what Lyon is doing in this article, and (3) why I like Sauvignon Blanc.
I've talked a lot about love stories. In a weird way it's important to me. I wouldn't describe myself as a romantic per se, but pitch a love story well enough to me and I would probably buy into it. Maybe that's what got me into Lyon in the first place. Every good love story has to start somewhere, right? Isn't that point? Anything can begin as a love story if you pitch it the right way.
There's a reason Lyon pitches its relationship with Amandine Henry as a love story, and it's not just because she has really, really dreamy blue eyes. It's because, as Telefoot says, there's that element of fate, and a team like Lyon is always going to be drawn to something like that. A team that sees itself as deities is always going to be intrigued by the inevitable. Maybe Orange Is The New Black had a point when they asked "Why do you always feel so inevitable to me?"
But I digress. Lyon would have been attracted to Amandine Henry even without her pretty blue eyes, because of the story. A kid who grew up behind a football stadium. An academy kid who saw the stadium and compared it to a cathedral. A kid whose career was almost ended by not one but two traumatic knee injuries, injuries so severe the doctors questioned whether she would ever walk again. In a quiet hospital room, Jean-Michel Aulas offered Amandine Henry a deal: if she lived through this, Olympique Lyonnais would die for her.
She took the deal, but it wasn't without glitches. Henry acted out, because her career was almost taken away and I don't think people necessarily understand the psychological toll that takes on an individual. It changed Ada Hegerberg for the better but it almost changed Amandine Henry for the worse. In an act of rage and grief, she knowingly engaged in an affair with a married coach. His wife, a Lyon player at the time, found out about it.
But Aulas had made this deal with Henry, right? She lives through this and Lyon will die for her. Those were the terms they agreed on that day. And so Aulas did right by what they agreed, Lyon buried the story. And it's buried, isn't it? You have to dig deep to find out who it was. Lyon swept it under the rug. Partly because Amandine Henry has pretty blue eyes and is marketable. But also because those pretty blue eyes were only looking at them.
So we flashforward a few years, and Lyon is on the international stage, finally starting to become comfortable in their own skin because they get to be monsters and the main reason they get to be that is because they have players who see them for they are. This is the truth that people like to overlook about Lyon: the ones who bring out their true nature aren't players they bought, they're players Lyon molded into their own image. Maybe there is a reason we never see paintings of angels looking at their own reflection.
I think I am a bad loser but it is nothing compared to Olympique Lyonnais. The thought of losing changes them, changes the way they hold themselves, even changes the way they breathe. You just have to watch what it is like when Lyon hits God Mode to understand that this team is not "normal". There is a reason they have a stranglehold on the UWCL trophy, and a large part of that is because their eyes change when they are angry.
This team is very, very dangerous when they are pissed off. It's almost easier to play them when they are complacent, when they are bored. When they are angry, they have a point to prove, and suddenly the pace is faster, the passing is crisper, the finishing is more lethal. They stop pretending they are anything but themselves when they are angry.
So this is why I am perplexed about Amandine Henry's newfound temper tantrum: she knows full well how this script will go. She wrote it herself almost. She knows that a vexed, vengeful Lyon is unplayable, that they will burn down anything in their path just to prove that they could be an arsonist if they wanted. She knows that nothing pisses them off more than their accomplishments being handwaved away and she is making noise about joining a team whose coach's somehow lesser offense is not knowing when to shut up.
Even I am afraid of what a vexed, vengeful Lyon will do if Emma Hayes is not handed a gag order, and all I do is write checks to them.
This article was leaked to Le Progres by Lyon, and it was leaked as a reminder that this Lyon's world, and players live and die according to Lyon's will. It was a reminder to Henry that she made Lyon just as much as they made her; that both parties enjoy the taste of blood and maybe the football world isn't ready for the destruction that would come if they both went for each other's throats. It was a reminder that Amandine Henry may have given Lyon the pen but OL is still the author of the love story, and they can add footnotes if they so desire.
It was a reminder that even love stories have a villain, and if pushed into a corner, Lyon will not hesitate to make her one.
They will remind her that the narrative she and her boyfriend are pushing on social media is false. Amandine Henry played in 18 games, and started 17 of them. This is not a player who was relegated to the bench despite what certain Twitter fans are insisted, much to my sincere confusion. She was out injured for a period of time.
Lyon was also decimated by injuries for a large part of the season going from November to circa late February / March. Almost every player, at some point in the season, was either out injured, had to play out of position, or both. I think goalkeepers were the only ones who did not play out of position and we were probably only one injury crisis away from that changing.
So for Henry and her apologies to clutch their pearls and act like Henry was relegated to CB as punishment rather than acknowledging Lyon's near death status really makes me grind my gears. Yes, she was playing CB instead of DM. But there was no other options. Lyon hates losing more than they like to win. To pretend that Lyon would have willingly moved Damaris, who has absolutely no CB experience, back into the defensive line just so Henry can play DM does a knowing and willful disservice to Lyon's mentality. They will not risk losing. They will not put their winning mentality up for debate.
The reminder that Henry's contract is tied to the will of the Board of Directors is a dog whistle to behave. At the end of the day the decision lies with them. Not with Henry, not with Bompastor, not even with Aulas. The decision lies with the Board and whether they will decide if they can afford to sacrifice a player of Henry's calibre for X amount.
Right now the answer is no. The window is open for a while, so things could change, but I think the Board of Directors, by leaking that article, wanted to remind Henry of the fundamentals of mythology: you are only a deity because someone made you one.

OL has some of the best french players and Corinne don't want them anymore? So basically she wants to lose.
OL has some of the best WORLD players and yes Diacre always had an issue with the club. She started her vendetta with Wendie then ELS then Sarah and Amandine then Amel, she won’t stop until they all stop coming like Sarah. When you see her tactics and choices it is obvious that she does not want to win with them.

Hi! Is it possible to provide a link or translation of the interview with Rapinoe that you mentioned? Thanks!
Of course ! I tried my best for the translation.
Women’s World Cup : “I didn’t understand the system of the FRAWNT” states Megan Rapinoe.
The new Ballon d’Or gave an Interview to France Football in which she doesn’t spare the Bleues who lost in quarter finals in their World Cup against the USWNT (1-2).
In a interview published this Tuesday by France Football, Megan Rapinoe won the performance of slashing Corinne Diacre as much as Wendie Renard in her biography. The star of the French World Cup talked about this quarter final without any flavour. And wondering about two roles of her ex coplayers at OL , where she played from 2013 to 2014 : “Eugénie (Le Sommer) and Amel (Majri) are some of my favourites. I still don’t understand why Eugénie evolved at the left side during the World Cup. She should have been put as a forward because she’s really creative. Which would have opened space for Amel who was frustratingly stuck as a left back. I didn’t understand the system of the french team against us. But I’m thankful to the person who put it in place.
And like it wasn’t enough, the offensive midfielder adds that she see Wendie Renard as “an absolute phenomenon, which isn’t innocent in view of her actuality opposing her to her coach.
Megan Rapinoe wondered too about the French mentality : “The french are so scared of losing that they Don't authorize themselves to win. Relax girls ! They maybe need to loosen up a bit or to be coached by a less uptight/unbridled coach”. Megan Rapinoe or the art os clashing Corinne Diacre without mentionning her name.

Corinne/Sidane obvi 😌 okay here's a fun(ish) one: Jul and Bogusia swapping bfs lol. could Bogusia go on a date w Chase without getting mad at him. would Red and Jul lose a their money buying old books from Chandry. the important questions, here.
Corinne: Time and place, gorgeous? 😉
I need not to say that it's a yes. Sidane is handsome and full of gender swag, Corinne would definetely be up for flirtation (or possibly more). A tragedy that they get separated by their respective universes, but we both know that it was only because they would be too powerful together. 😔
ooh, this is a fun one! thank you for making my brain cells rattle! 💕
(mild nsfw behind the cut)
...so, I'm surprised to say, Bogumiła WOULD be more than able to go on a date with Chase IF 1) Chase managed to convince Bogumiła that his attraction to her is genuine and not a joke, 2) if Red hasn't been recruited to the Shepherds and is generally out of the picture. Bogumiła seems to have certain issues with perceiving herself as desirable. She's convinced that Red only fell for her brilliant mind and sparkling personality - or rather, that they've been friends long enough that his love for her as a friend made up for any shortcomings she had in a love department (like her appearance). This is obviously not true, but the time distance since their break up and general miscommunication shenanigans of exes!Redmance cloud her judgement. Having Chase confess that he's into her largely because of her appearance would shake her opinion of herself AND of Chase (whom she considered, a bit rightfully, a shallow flirt - one who flirts with everybody and mostly doesn't mean his words) in the best sense. And if Chase was otherwise a good friend to her? If he ended up hearing about her being ditched by her fiance before joining the Shepherds? If he suggested sleeping with him as a way to rebound, to one up the loser by getting it on with (in)famous Chase Trinaeste? And for stress relief, obviously, a much needed side-effect in their line of work? And if he suggested it at the exact right moment when Bogumiła's judgement gets a little, shall we say, unhinged? She could end up getting in fwb with him. Yes, I know, I didn't expect it either.
(Gosh, I need to see Red, Pan and Neon's faces when they learn that Bogumiła Niepołomska is in fwb with Chase Trinaeste.)
They wouldn't be a perfect match. I can't see Chase falling romantically for Bogumiła or vice versa. They would end up separating sooner rather than later and their arrangement would hit quite a hitch when Red inevitably appears, but I think that they would have a mostly good influence on each other and they would come out of this wacky scenario as genuinely close friends. And Bogumiła could use more such friends. Bonus points for Chase possibly matchmaking between her and Red, once he realizes that they're actually both idiots.
Okay, back to a predictable match.
Juliander and Red? Have them do a $10.000 Shein haul together except it's all second hand books and they'll experience a platonic high they never knew existed. And then they'll experience a platonic low they never knew existed - once they realize that they encouraged each other to go in debt over books and don't have a penny to their names for the upcoming month. Thank goodness that the Order provides free food and shelter. Bogumiła is going to look SO (un)impressed by this.
They would make each other worse. Juliander's finances are already in shambles and I can assure you that with Red by his side they would be absolutely broke. Juliander spent his entire monthly salary on a single book and didn't consider himself scalped (I did, I cried while purchasing it). Red would assure him that he absolutely wasn't, in fact, it was a steal because the book in question turned out to be super rare or something (I don't care, I love you, Red, but this pixel money wasn't worth it). Books to this two are sad puppies left in the rain. You simply have to get them a good home and let's face it, when you say "a good home" you mean "your home" because who else will cherish this book so much as you do? They're incorrigible nerds. Red would ramble about his obsession of the day until his throat ran dry and Juliander would listen to him adoringly, and maybe even take notes. They would be mostly key words to look up in the library later because he's not on Red's level of nerdery, having been raised by Belnus Farplane, but they would be notes nonetheless. There would be absolutely NO checks and balances - Juliander is Red's brain's no. 1 fan and when I say that he would listen to whatever Red was rambling about with the utmost admiration and adoration, I MEAN IT. They're bad enough as friends, now imagine them without the insulation of their other friends, imagine them as lovers. I shudder.
They would be an absolute mess. Red cannot function without a dozen books strewn around him, while Juliander strikes me as a bit of a neat freak. I spoiled myself that Red's biggest turn on is MC being smart and while it works for Bogumiła who would react "Damn right I'm smart, let's make out", there's no way you would pull Juliander away like that from his research. Taking aside the fact that his research time is sacred and he's most likely in the zone, hearing an affirmation of his genius by Archmage Liefred Antiqua would up his research enthusiasm incredibly. "Wait, are you sure that I'm right? Aren't we forgetting something? Tlatou's Law, for example? Maybe we should ask someone for a second opinion? Maybe Bogumiła? Wait, I need to write it down!", while poor Red is peeling off his shirt like "Tlatou's Law doesn't apply here, Jul. I'm sure that's fine. Let's ask her tomorrow".
Let's all say thank you to Chase Trinaeste who had Juliander Strzygomski so in deep by Ch3 that Juliander had his eyes only for one person. And to Bogumiła Niepołomska who took upon herself the task of wrangling Red Antiqua (affectionate).

Corinne Deacon, the terrible injustice
Just landed at the head of the France team, Hervé Renard stood out by authorizing Amel Majri to come to Clairefontaine with his granddaughter. Corinne Deacon had however validated the principle during the previous gathering. Hervé Renard has been flawless since his arrival at the head of Les Bleues. But his strongest decision isn’t on the pitch just yet. By allowing Amel Majri to land at…

I’ve been obsessed with Dragon Age lately (10 years late to the party but whatever). I played DA2 first because I never do things in proper order. And of course I was swiftly and fiercely smitten by Varric... so I wrote a little thing. VarricxF!PurpleHawke
Short and fluffy non-canon-compliant oneshot of their reunion in Skyhold under the cut
He couldn’t believe it. They’d found her, after all these years, they had done the one thing Varric swore he’d never do; track her down and drag her into this clusterfuck of an Inquisition. He had been pacing by the fire since Cassandra smugly announced the news. Hawke is coming. Hawke is coming.
Varric couldn’t breathe. Three years since Kirkwall, three years since he reluctantly left her side- the fame from his book meant it was hard to go unnoticed, and after the shitstorm of mage rebellion that followed their every move, attention was not something Hawke needed. Or wanted. Even if she did want… no. Varric closed his eyes, forcing away the memories of her tearful face, of the crack and wobble in her voice as she begged him to stay. Leaving had been for her benefit. She could hide better without him, she could be whatever she wanted- without him.
The hardest thing he’d ever had to do was walk away. Her ghost walked with him every step; the book brought him fame and attention, endless questions about Hawke- where is she, where did she go, why did she defend the mages, does she ever write- questions he couldn’t answer without giving her, him, them, away. What they’d had and what he had ended.
What he hadn’t been able to stop thinking about since Cassandra told him. Hawke is coming.
Varric glared at the fire. Damn Templars. They couldn’t have left well enough alone, left her to the quiet life she’d built in whatever backwater village she’d chosen to hide out in. Half of him expected to hear she’d gone back to Lothering. Or whatever was left of it. Rebuild what the Blight had taken. But the truth was worse, much worse; Hawke had been camping out on the Wounded Coast. Etching out a living and making her home in some slimy cave; a fucking miserable pit and Varric couldn’t help but feel like he’d sent her there.
She’d been so close. So damn close all that time and he hadn’t known. He felt like an idiot for not seeing it. Hawke’s damn loyalty would be the end of her. She couldn’t walk away. She wouldn’t. And that same loyalty that he had adored about her, was the reason the Templars were dragging her to Skyhold now. Varric swore under his breath.
The doors burst open and then she was there- smiling like the sun, shouting his name, sprinting across the flagstone to throw her arms around him. Varric was swallowed by her, swept away, and he wouldn’t have cared if Corypheus himself flew in through the window because he had Hawke. For a moment he forgot how to breathe, how to think, how to exist without her arms around him. Varric pressed his face into her chest and hoped nobody could hear the sobs he desperately tried to muffle.
“Varric, Varric, oh my love,” Hawke was whispering, dropping kisses to the top of his head. “I’ve missed you terribly, you damn fool dwarf.”
“Corinne,” he said, her name the only thing he dared say. His voice wavered and she looked down into his eyes, her fingers brushing across his cheeks. Varric closed his eyes at her touch.
“Hi,” she whispered.
He grinned, big and stupid and full of the love he didn’t talk about in any book and turned his head to kiss her palm. “Hi.”
-[-]-
Once the rest had their fill of her, the stories spilling fast and loud from her lips, and the evening turned to night, Varric dragged her away. Corinne kept up a steady stream of her usual diatribe; sarcasm laced with quips, dumb retellings of things that had left scars on her mind and body. She spoke cavalier of the rebellion, of the slaughter in Kirkwall. Acted like dodging Tal-Vashoth and slavers on the Coast was child’s play. And for all her laughing, anybody would think the three years she spent trying to save Anders from himself hadn’t broken her heart.
And when the stories were done, the mead was finished, and the rest of the Inquisition slunk off to nurse their spinning heads, Varric dragged Corinne away from the tavern and up to his room.
“They gave me my own room, you know,” she remarked, picking her way across his desk. Like a magpie, she sifted through his belongings and he watched her face grow soft when she found the wooden hawk paperweight. The Amell crest was on the bottom, hidden, but there. Like me, she’d said, when she gave it to him all those years ago.
Varric rocked on his heels. “Where?”
One she answered with a rough, lopsided grin. “Near Cullen’s. And didn’t our little Templar blush when they told him.”
“He hasn’t forgotten Kirkwall,” Varric cautioned her. Hawke shrugged.
“Fuck Kirkwall,” she said, under her breath. Winced. “Ah… sorry. It’s still home for you.”
“Nah, you’re right, fuck Kirkwall,” he echoed, with a grin. The air between them was thick. Like there was something waiting to be said, but neither wanted to be the first. It had never felt so awkward. Talking to Hawke had always come as natural as breathing, but now it felt like he was swallowing rocks. “I’m not afraid to admit it’s a shithole.”
“I’ve heard the new Viscount is a bit of a dick,” she said.
Varric rolled his eyes. “Haha.”
“But it’s a step up from the Hanged Man, I bet.”
“Blasphemy!” he snapped without fire. “I’d take that over the bloody palace, any day. Still got my old room there, y’know. I couldn’t give it up… I didn’t want anyone else in that bed. Not when we…”
Hawke’s face changed. “I remember,” she said, lowly. Then, a slow smile curling her mouth, she lounged herself across his bed. “But the details are a bit foggy. Care to remind me?”
There it was. A click, and everything fell back in place. This wasn’t Kirkwall, wasn’t the Hanged Man, they weren’t the same people, but she could bring all of it back with a wisecrack and a wicked grin. Varric grinned and went to her, chasing the taste of her laughter with a kiss.

So here is a thing: Diacre is the team manager and she has trouble having a great relationship with her players. This crisis started at the early stage of her nomination when she gave the captain Armband to Henry (taking it from Renard). After hard times notably France elimination from the WC in France (what a shocker), she manages to have Bouhaddi refusing to play for France anymore.
Now, she left Henry from her line up and everybody lost their shit. The French federation extended her contract until 2022 tho. So what will happen in couple weeks (if France loses or if another crisis errupts?).
