For the week of 1 July 2019
Quick Bits:
Aero #1 is an impressive solo debut for the Chinese original heroine spinning out of War of the Realms: New Agents of Atlas in North America and her original stories published in China. The first story is an English adaptation of one originally published in Chinese from Zhou Liefen and Keng, with the adaptation by Greg Pak, letters by Joe Caramagna. The artwork from Keng is stunning. There’s also an original back-up from Pak, Pop Mhan, Federico Blee, and Caramagna that ties in more directly to New Agents of Atlas with Aero learning more about Wave’s origin.

Age of X-Man: Prisoner X #5 concludes another of these minis setting up for the finale in Age of X-Man: Omega. Vita Ayala, Germán Peralta, Matt Horak, Mike Spicer, and Joe Sabino deliver an entertaining story here of Bishop and his crew fighting back against their captor and figuring out who put them in this mess. Gorgeous artwork from Peralta, Horak, and Spicer.

Analog #6 returns from the break with this action-packed start to the new arc. Great art from David O’Sullivan and Mike Spicer. Also, an interesting reveal of what people still do post-Internet.

Crowded #7 kicks off the second arc as Charlie and Vita try to make their way to Las Vegas. Tons of humour, Charlie continues to be someone that you want to strangle, and Dog may just be the best part of the entire series. I love the art from Ro Stein, Ted Brandt, Tríona Farrell, Katie O’Meara, and Holly McKend.

Deathstroke #45 begins “Deathstroke RIP” from Priest, Fernando Pasarin, Jason Paz, Wade von Grawbadger, Jeromy Cox, and Willie Schubert. This one deals with the legacy of Slade Wilson in a fascinating manner as Rose tries to fulfill her father’s last contract. There’s also a tie-in to the “Year of the Villain” event with someone here listening to Luthor’s offer. Should be an interesting road ahead.
| Published by DC Comics
Tumblr media
Doom Patrol: Weight of the Worlds #1 is very much a continuation of the previous volume of Doom Patrol (with this first issue even including a “Thirteen” chapter heading), but it’s both inclusive and weird enough that it doesn’t overly matter if you’ve read the previous stuff. It helps, but this isn’t a bad place to jump in at the deep end. Gerard Way, Jeremy Lambert, James Harvey, Sajan Rai, and a seemingly uncredited letterer deliver an excellent story here, featuring a weird story on a fitness planet and Cliff dealing poorly with being flesh and blood again.
| Published by DC Comics / Young Animal
Tumblr media
Giant Days #52 seems to be setting up how the series may see its exit as Esther travels to London for a job interview. It’s going to be sad to see it end, but John Allison, Max Sarin, Whitney Cogar, and Jim Campbell are ensuring that these final stories contain all of the humour and rich character interaction that has been a hallmark for the book.
| Published by Boom Entertainment / BOOM! Box
Tumblr media
The Green Lantern #9 is another excellent issue with stunning artwork from Liam Sharp and Steve Oliff. This one sets up a new multiversal threat while also giving us a fun adventure on an otherwise forgotten corner of the DC Universe in Athmoora.
| Published by DC Comics
Tumblr media
Harley Quinn #63 is another “Year of the Villain” tie-in, with the offer being heard on the last two pages of the book. That pretty much seems to be the theme of these tie-ins, so if you’re not normally reading the books, you might otherwise want to skip them if you’re only interested in Year of the Villain. Apart from that, this is an entertaining story of Harley dealing with her mother’s cancer diagnosis from Sam Humphries, Otto Schmidt, and Dave Sharpe.
| Published by DC Comics
Tumblr media
Immortal Hulk #20 continues to build on the confrontation between Hulk, Betty, and the new Abomination adding General Fortean’s forces to the mix directly. It’s fairly explosive, while more horrible and horrifying things seem to be happening on the other side of the Green Door and elsewhere. Al Ewing, Joe Bennett, Ruy José, Belardino Brabo, Marc Deering, Paul Mounts, and Cory Petit continue to deliver Marvel’s best title. Also, there’s an Absolute Carnage teaser from Ewing, Brian Level, Mounts, and Clayton Cowles that gives us a missing body of General Ross and hints at possibly a more nightmarish Red Hulk.
| Published by Marvel
Tumblr media
Justice League #27 continues “Apex Predator” from James Tynion IV, Javier Fernandez, Bruno Redondo, Hi-Fi, and Tom Napolitano. It builds further on the new history of Luthor and Martian Manhunter, while the rest of the team continues to try to track down the Monitor and Anti-Monitor.
| Published by DC Comics
Tumblr media
Lois Lane #1 is an excellent debut from Greg Rucka, Mike Perkins, Paul Mounts, and Simon Bowland. It focuses well on Lois’ day job, building up on what makes her a creditable threat to shady organizations and the US government alike as she pushes forward to find the truth. A very welcome reappearance of a Questionable character, some topical story threads of the camps at the southern US border, and gorgeous artwork from Perkins and Mounts.
| Published by DC Comics
Tumblr media
Red Sonja #6 is the penultimate chapter of this arc with the finale spinning off in the Lord of Fools special. Some interesting developments here as the Zamoran Emperor tries to end the war by offering Sonja a marriage proposal.
| Published by Dynamite
Tumblr media
Savage Avengers #3 fully unites the team as Electra and Punisher join the others, complete with an interesting merging for the Venom symbiote. Gerry Duggan tosses out some really great funny lines for this one amidst all of the bloody action.
| Published by Marvel
Tumblr media
Sea of Stars #1 is a heartbreaking debut from Jason Aaron, Dennis Hallum, Stephen Green, Rico Renzi, and Jared K. Fletcher. Heartbreaking because it tells the story of a kid and his father, struggling to get by in cruel world through space shipping, and the attack of a weird space creature that tears them apart. Great set-up, beautiful art, and some bizarre events for what happens to the kid.
| Published by Image
Tumblr media
Space Bandits #1 is worth it just for the incredible artwork from Matteo Scalera and Marcelo Maiolo. Like Scalera’s work on Black Science, the inventiveness of his art knows no limits and he explores some rich and detailed alien landscapes and characters, with a neat pastel colour palette from Maiolo. This first issue sets up two criminals screwed over by their respective crews.

Tumblr media
Star Wars: Target Vader #1 is a compelling debut that sets up a plot to kill Darth Vader from Robbie Thompson, Marc Laming, Chris Bolson, Neeraj Menon, Jordan Boyd, Andres Mossa, Federico Blee, Erick Arciniega, and Clayton Cowles. This one’s largely a gathering of the team set-up as we follow Valance from Han Solo: Imperial Cadet and learn of an organization running guns against the Empire.
| Published by Marvel
Tumblr media
Superman: Up in the Sky #1 begins to collect the original Superman story that was published in those Walmart-exclusive 100-page anthologies from Tom King, Andy Kubert, Sandra Hope, Brad Anderson, and Clayton Cowles. It’s not a bad start, even if it seems a bit weird as to how obsessive Superman seems to be over a missing child stolen from the planet. Some of the best art from Andy Kubert I’ve seen in a while.
| Published by DC Comics
Tumblr media
Test #1 is another highly unique and entertaining debut for Vault. Christopher Sebela, Jen Hickman, Harry Saxon, and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou introduce us to Aleph, a test subject in some sort of corporate experiment that seems to have some sort of unique powers. Or maybe not. That’s the interesting thing, there are hints that it could all be in Aleph’s mind. Wonderful art from Hickman and Saxon.
| Published by Vault
Tumblr media
Thumbs #2 continues this excellent series from Sean Lewis and Hayden Sherman. The world-building in this series is incredible, especially considering how immensely personal it happens to be in regards to being seen through Thumbs’ eyes. The colour scheme in this series of blue-grey washes and hot pink just makes this look and feel wonderfully unique. Also, how the back-up story is presented with spot illustrations and dialogue is a neat use of format.

Letting Go: "ALN" Story (Pre-Serum Omega!Steve and Alpha!Bucky Modern Domestic AU)
Four:
Just as Steve predicted, the warm weather didn't last long. Over the weeks, it seemed as though Steve could feel winter snapping at his toes. Tonight though, tonight seemed fine enough for trick-or-treating. Thankfully warm enough where the kids could wear sweats and sweatshirts under their costumes without needing their jackets.
Just as goofy, but more good-natured than the Ghost with the Most, Kit kept jumping out to scare his siblings and parents. From somewhere in the house, Steve heard Bucky shout in his freight.
"If you don't stop scaring me, you're not going trick-or-treating," Bucky warned. It was empty and Kit knew that as well as he ran back into the living room with his messy green Beetlejuice wig bouncing with every step.
On the sofa, Finn sat painfully still while Steve applied the fake scars and helped him with his wild black Edward Scissorhands wig. Bucky busied himself getting the triplets dressed in the costumes they chose themselves for the first time in their lives. An eye-catching sequined mermaid for Cori, a blue Power Ranger for Bitsy, and fluffy pink cotton candy for Nevie.
"Hey, squirt? We're gonna be leaving soon," Bucky called up the staircase while flipping the long white wig curls over his shoulder.
Making sure that all the kids had gone to the bathroom and had their trick-or-treating pails, they were on their way out the door when Oliver finally came downstairs in a pair of flannel fleece sleep pants and an Edison High School sweatshirt. Pausing in putting on his green Power Ranger mask, Steve watched as Oliver happily plopped himself down on the large sectional sofa.
Getting comfortable, Oliver pulled a throw blanket over his lap and let the gray cat, Bruce, curl up beside him. Steve's brows furrowed and he asked the fifteen year old, "What are you doing?"
Flipping through a streaming service, Oliver shrugged, "I'm grounded. Remember?"
Narrowing his eyes, Steve crossed his arms along his padded-muscular chest, "No, you're coming out with us."
"What?" Oliver looked up at Steve. "But I'm grounded."
"Right," Steve agreed. "But I'm not stupid. I know that as soon as we leave, you're going to have your friends come over."
"No," Oliver scoffed, rolling his eyes and getting comfier on the couch, "I was just going to hang out with the cats. Ya know, have a true Cat-urday."
Steve leveled a look at his son, not believing him for one second. Of course, Oliver inheriting Steve's poor ability to lie, it wasn't difficult to tell when he was doing so. So, Steve said, "You're coming trick-or-treating. Whether I have to get the wagon and pull your around all night or put a kiddie leash on you, you're going."
Annoyed, Oliver rolled his eyes. Taking a moment to think about a rebuttal. And when he had one, he asked, "Who's going to hand out candy."
Because Steve could be a petty asshole sometimes, he took the large plastic cauldron of candy and carried it outside. Bucky had the kids herded on the front lawn and gave Steve a confused look as the omega placed the candy cauldron on the porch table. Once done, Steve returned inside. Giving his son the same look that Oliver had given him.
"Are you going in your pjs? Or would you like to change into a costume?"
Knowing that he had lost the battle, Oliver sighed and shoved the soft blanket off himself, disturbing the gray cat in the process. Oliver bypassed Steve on his way upstairs, and Steve took a moment to deflate. This was the part that he hated about parenthood. It was already bad punishing his children, but following through with that punishment was even harder.
"We'll be waiting outside," Steve called up to his oldest.
"Okay," Oliver answered, annoyed.
Pausing on the porch, Steve took a moment before pulling down his Power Ranger mask. King Triton met him halfway and asked, "Are we ready to go?"
Cuddling close to Bucky's faux muscular torso, Steve explained, "Once Ollie comes outside, we will be."
Nodding, Bucky pressed a kiss to Steve's covered forehead, just letting his husband use his body for warmth. But only for a moment. Pulling away, Steve clapped his hands to get the kids' attention. Once he had it, he started, "What are the rules?"
"Stay together," Kit answered while Nevie said, "Stay close."
"That's right," Steve confirmed, nodding.
"Can I go with my friends?" Finn asked, gesturing over to some of the neighborhood kids who were waiting for him.
Bucky waved over at them and decided, "Sure. Just be back before dark."
"And stick together," Steve added.
"Deal!" Finn agreed, running across their front yard to the sidewalk where the group of seven middle schoolers were.
"Wait," Oliver started, leaving the house, "So, Finn gets to go trick-or-treating with his friends, but I can't stay home and hand out candy?"
"We didn't catch Finn sneaking out of his window," Steve clarified while Bucky teased, "We trust him more than you, squirt. Easy as that."
"Ha," Oliver deadpanned, earning a hidden smirk from Steve beneath his Power Ranger mask. All the while, Oliver fixed a velvet leopard print animal ears headband on top of his head. Clearly not taking any of it seriously as he tucked the pockets of his jeans in.
"C'mon, daddy!" Cori tugged on Bucky's hand, trying to get going already, "We're gonna miss all the candy!"
"We're not gonna miss all the candy," Steve snorted in amusement while taking the other two little girls' hands.
Bucky, on the other hand, played along and started running down the street with Cori, which of course, made the other two girls take off running too. Noticing the other two, Bucky slowed his pace so they could all link hands. Along with Cori, Nevie and Bitsy couldn't help but squeal as they giggled, and the other trick-or-treaters couldn't help but look at them. After all, it wasn't every day that one saw King Triton running down the street with the little mermaid, cotton candy, and a blue Power Ranger.
When Kit started laughing manically and took off running after them, Steve started heading down the street too. Making sure that Oliver didn't try to sneak back inside of the house, he glanced over his shoulder at the fifteen year old.
"What? I can't even walk slow now?" Oliver asked, his freckled cheeks red from his embarrassment.
Slowing his own pace to fall in step with the taller boy, Steve good-naturedly said, "Ya know, you used to like when your dad acted like that."
"Yeah, you're right," Oliver agreed, pausing at their neighbor's house where the rest of the family was accepting candy. "And one day, I'm sure that they'll be embarrassed too."
"Probably," Steve gave him. Still finding himself chuckle when Bucky and the rest of the kids skipped to the next house. Shrugging, "But that's how growing up works. I was embarrassed by my mom, and your dad and aunts still get embarrassed by bebe and gramps. It just happens."
Oliver shrugged, but kept in step with Steve. Even pausing when Steve did as they watched the younger kids get candy from their neighbors. Steve wished that he could slow time to let them enjoy this time in their lives for just a little longer. Especially when Steve looked over to see Finn and his friends acting as though they were too cool to trick-or-treat, but Steve still caught the smiles each of the pre-teens gave as they looked down at their candy collection.
"Are you sure you don't want to get some candy for yourself?" Steve asked.
Oliver good-humoredly scoffed and playfully rolled his eyes, "Please."
Playfully bumping his shoulder against Oliver's, Steve teased, "You can borrow my mask, if you want. I mean, it is free candy."
Seeing that small smile tug at Oliver's lips lifted Steve's mood. Especially since the teen had been visibly annoyed and upset for the past week and a half of his grounding. But with him starting to relax, Steve felt like he could too. And for a little while, it didn't feel like they were opponents, it felt as though they were teammates again. Even if Oliver still had another week and a half to his grounding. Steve tried to remind himself that even if Oliver was moody and was angry with him that it didn't mean that he didn't love him. It was the same sentiment that Steve always had to remind himself. And for tonight, he couldn't believe it.

The Best Christmas Movies Available on Netflix
https://ift.tt/3q2Rba0
Christmas is a stressful time of year for many people.
There are gifts to buy, family to see, and cars to dig out of the snow. Thankfully, the holiday cheer makes up for a lot of it. And when holiday cheer can’t get you all the way there, there are Christmas movies to make up the rest.
Netflix has the deepest roster of Christmas movies of all the major streaming options. So we’ve compiled a list of the best Christmas movies available on Netflix.
Be sure to point out any we’ve missed!
Black Mirror: White Christmas
Those looking for Christmas cheer won’t find it here. Black Mirror isn’t necessarily known for its happy endings and it’s 2014 Christmas special, “White Christmas” is no different.
Still, there is an audience out there that definitely wants this level of Scroogery. Plus it stars Jon Hamm! “White Christmas” follows three seemingly disparate stories. Jon Hamm is Matt, a mysterious man with a mysterious job who viewers watch in three different environments: once as a gross pick-up artist helper, once as a digital “cookie” salesman, and once as an occupant in a cozy cabin on Christmas Day.
What do all of these have to do with Christmas? Watch and find out. Then weep for the collapse of humanity.
The Christmas Chronicles
If a Christmas movie is only as good as its Santa (surely someone out there abides by this rule), then Netflix’s The Christmas Chronicles is one heck of a Christmas movie. This family film produced by Chris Columbus features Kurt Russell ascending to his final form as Hot Santa Claus.
The plot follows two children who are struggling to believe in the magic of Christmas after the death of their firefighter father. But the spirit of the season seizes them when they encounter the ultimate stand-in father figure: Kurt Russell Santa. The Christmas Chronicles is your classic, by-the-book family holiday yarn with a fun actor at the center and elevated production quality. Its sequel is also available to stream on Netflix.
Klaus
Since the hallowed days of Rankin/Bass stop-motion animated Christmas specials, there hasn’t been much movement or innovation in the realm of animated Christmas movies. Klaus, written and directed by Sergio Pablos, seeks to change all that in Klaus.
This crisply animated feature serves as an alternative history version of the story of Santa Claus. Jesper (Jason Schwartzman) proves himself to be the worst student as a postal academy and is sent to the North Pole where his lack of letter-delivering abilities won’t do anyone any harm. There he discovers Klaus (J.K. Simmons), a mysterious carpenter who lives alone and likes to make handmade toys. Sounds pretty familiar.
Klaus is both a technical marvel and an effective little Christmas story.
And here’s the complete list, just in case you don’t like our choices!

The evil Sledge returns from his death bringing with him several villains from the past. The energems are no longer, so new young people with energy and new powers must stop him. They are:
Dante Lee Scott-Hart/Red Jurassic Squad Ranger: He is the leader of the group and the eldest son of the first Red and Pink Power Rangers. He is optimistic, charismatic and a lover of dinosaurs. He occupies a position in Jurassic World as a keeper of the Tyrannosaurus Rex, especially a red T-Rex that he calls Ty and his best friend. His elemental power is fire. His dinosaur is the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Antaeus “Ant” Nekton/Blue Jurassic Squad Ranger: Younger son of the famous family of underwater explorers, the Nektons. At his 15 years old is a born explorer and great connoisseur of marine fauna and flora. He’s trainer of a blue Mosasaurus, which, is called Mozart because it is a dull dinosaur. Still Ant loves him very much and takes good care of him. His elemental power is water. His dinosaur is the Mosasaurus.
Claire Allen/Yellow Jurassic Squad Ranger: Assistant to park owner Tyler Navarro and his wife Shelby Watkins, besides being Dante’s girlfriend. She has an important job as the clarifier of new species that are discovered. She takes importance to all the dinosaurs in the park especially a female Triceratops called Skya which is very important for Claire. Her elemental power is the Lightning. Her dinosaur is the Triceratops.
Owen Allen/Green Jurassic Squad Ranger: He is the younger brother of Claire and the gardener of the Raptors section. Owen is an experimental gardener at 17 years of age, takes good care of plants and in his spare time spends time in charity with his favorite Velociraptor called Runner, with whom he makes races and he always beats Owen. His elemental power is the Forest. His dinosaur is the Velociraptor.
Cory Scott-Hart/Pink Jurassic Squad Ranger: Dante’s younger sister. She was captain of the university’s female kickboxer until she was expelled for hitting hard on another girl from a wealthy family, who always called Cory “unfeminine.” Her parents, unable to enroll her in another school, decide to get her a job in Jurassic World as a caregiver of a peculiar pink female Stegosaurus. Which Cory calls Ace, and thanks to Ace Cory loves her new job. When he meets her, Owen falls deeply in love with her. Her elemental power is Earth. Her dinosaur is the Stegosaurus.

rilaya? on my blog?
a procrastinatory drabble because i don’t feel like studying. based off of this post:
Person 1 is shopping with Person 2 when 1 suddenly lose them, until they walk by the toy isle and find 2 wearing a superhero mask.
Cory was busy with Auggie at sports practice, and Topanga was working late at the office, so they had asked Riley to buy some household supplies for them. Nothing too complicated, just usual stuff like laundry detergent and tissues and stuff. Maya thought it would be pretty simple; after all, she’d been through worse escapades with Riley before. What could go wrong?
She’s sure it hasn’t been more than ten minutes, but Riley is nowhere to be seen.
She had been a fool to think that shopping with Riley in a place as colorful and distracting as Target was going to be easy.  Now, the store had somehow transformed into a labyrinth from one of those Greek stories Matthews kept trying to teach them. She just hoped that Riley wasn’t about to be eaten by some weird half-cow dude.
After managing to find her way out of the clothing section for what seemed like the third time, she surfaced near the electronics section. She glanced around and noticed the sign further down that says ‘TOYS’.
“Of course,” Maya muttered as she walked towards the colorful display of children’s playthings. She looked down the first aisle and immediately found herself face to face with a tall, masked figure.
“Holy-!” She jumped backwards, hand over her heart, almost ready to attack the stranger. At that, the Pink Power Ranger let out an unforgettably familiar giggle before reaching up to take off the mask.
“It’s pretty great, isn’t it?” The mask came off to reveal Riley’s trademark grin. Despite herself, Maya couldn’t help but smile a little, even as she was rolling her eyes.
“I’m not sure whether to be impressed or disappointed that the mask fits with your outfit,” she said, gesturing at the other girl’s dress. “I’ve been looking all over for you.”
“There’s just so much to look at! We don’t come here that often, and I’ve never been without mom and dad, so I want to take this opportunity to explore the reaches of the unknown!” Riley declared.
Maya reached over and plucked the mask from Riley’s hands, setting it back on the shelf. “Relax, Columbus. It’s Target, there’s a bunch of other stores just like it. And don’t look at me like that,” she warned when Riley pouted at her. “Your parents sent us here with a shopping list, and I’m pretty sure Power Rangers wasn’t on it.”
“Columbus was a terrible person,” Riley said as she fell into step beside Maya.
“Yeah, well I don’t know any other explorers who managed to get lost while exploring.”
“Well I don’t have to worry about that,” Riley smiled, before reaching over to grab hold of Maya’s hand. “I have my trusty compass to keep me on track.”
Maya looked down at their hands for a moment before lacing their fingers together. “Sure thing, honey.” She smiled. “Let’s go.”

Top 5 Woman-Crush-Wednesday's
Anyone remember my blog post on the Top 5 Man Crush Monday's? Remember how I said I would write a post in the next couple of days? Well a year has past and still haven't done it, so what the heck. Better late that never.
Moving from 2016 to 2017, I'm still the same Joe. The s*** with money, power ranger obsessed Joe. But with a touch more sass. Well I think so anyway. And recently I have been admiring a few female stars with what they've achieved and their talent. Which is why not so long ago I created the slogan GGL. GGL stands for Gay Girl Love. This is for when a gay man (such as myself) really likes a female person for multiple reasons such as their hair, voice, stuff they appeared or worked for etc. Multiple traits that you really admire about one person. For example, Nicole Scherzinger. I think her voice is brilliant, her hair is always flawless, her song Poison is amazing and she was killing it in the music video. I love her for all that. More than just saying 'OMG I love her' but not in the way of really loving/ fancying her. So then I would say I have GGLs for Nicole. If that makes sense. So going back to the trend of WCW. WCW stands for Woman Crush Wednesday. This is exactly the same as Man Crush Monday but with Woman and on a Wednesday. I am obviously not the kind of guy who would use this hashtag to post pics on their social media of bikini models wearing only swimsuits showing off their boobs and butts (for an obvious reason which I've said 2/3 times already). But it doesn't mean I would ignore the hashtag. Just because I'm not attracted to women doesn't mean I think women are only good for showing off their body and absolutely nothing else. Women can do what men can do and vice versa. Equality, plain and simple. There are so many great people who have done some amazing things who are female. And despite not being attracted to them, I would use the WCW hashtag to show how incredible they are in what they've achieved. So this post is a list of my Top 5 most likely Woman Crush Wednesday's. I think these people are amazing and you'll find out why.
5. Poppy

The person in the photo above (who's hair is amazing btw) is Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy.  She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. Okay. That's enough. You are most likely to have skip read all of that but if you somehow decided to read all the sentences, how long did it take you? It took me 25 seconds which felt long enough to read 2 words. But imagine having two words said on and on for over 10 minutes, weird right. That didn't stop Poppy. Oh hell no! Poppy (also known as That Poppy) is an artist who has been known to make YouTube videos which weird the s*** out of everyone. One of her most popular videos is where she repeats herself saying "I'm Poppy" for over 10 minutes. And that's just one video. From interviewing a plant, to teaching you how to play the 'P' chord, to giving you a virtual hug and to loading a gun. There's a huge variety of weird. And I like that. Not your typical YouTuber, it's a fresh change. Especially since nobody knows much about her. Whether if this is all an act, what she is really like, if this is her actual personality, her age, interests. No one knows. But that doesn't stop a video of hers making you think. And you don't know what to think, you just do. From anything to everything. However, her videos are not why she made it in this list. The music she has released is incredible. Despite the videos being weird and probably full of hidden messages, the actual songs are simply beautiful. Examples include Lowlife, Money & I'm Poppy. Have a little listen for yourself and you'll see why she made the list.
4. Naomi Scott
Tumblr media

There's obviously gonna be a Power Ranger in this list. It is me after all. Naomi Scott (who was also in the Disney Channel Original Movie 'Lemonade Mouth') plays Kimberly Heart, the Pink Ranger in the Power Rangers 2017 Reboot Movie. Based of the original 1993 character, Naomi does a brilliant job of bringing the character to life again with so much more depth. Not going into too much detail which could spoil the movie, her character has a brilliant way of teaching people that you can learn from the mistakes you make and just because you do a bad thing, it won't automatically make you a bad person. An important message, shown perfectly well. Not only just that, Naomi's character gives you so many moments that get you pumped in this movie too. There's scenes which makes you laugh, get excited, be shocked, and feel worried etc. There's even a scene where she walks down a staircase (pictured) and you can't help but think 'Yassss Queen, Slay That Staircase'. Or at least just me anyway. Simply said, the way she portrayed the character was on point, you can't help but love the new Mighty Morphin Pink Ranger.
3. Dove Cameron

There maybe two in the picture but trust me, there is only one Dove!
Dove Cameron is a current Disney Channel Queen. Now don't get me wrong. I loved growing up with Disney Channel. My childhood dream was to be in front of a white backdrop holding a glow stick saying "I'm Joe Smith and you're watching Disney Channel" whilst drawing Mickey Mouse ears (if you don't know what I'm on about, watch this). High School Musical, Hannah Montana & That's So Raven. Those were the classics. I lost count how many times people who know me personally asked me if I knew about the Raven sequel series that's been announced. Of course I did. It's me. But it's safe to say that most things made after Season 2 of Shake It Up were pretty awful. To some, I'm even being generous by saying the first season of SIU was decent. I feel like I can safely say shows like Dog With A Blog and Ant Farm lost a generation of viewers. They lost comedy and Disney Channel spark. To me, the Disney Channel I knew was dead. But a couple of years later, the return of Cory and Topenga from Boy Meets Worlds sequel series Girl Meets World, brought me back to the channel. The show is special and brought back some magic of enjoyment like my younger self had from my DC days. I didn't even watch Boy Meets World but I could feel so much nostalgia and happy feelings from it as well. Because of this, I could watch other shows every now and then from around that time (such as I Didn't Do It, K.C. Undercover, Best Friends Whenever) and despite not enjoying them as much as the old shows (mainly because I'm [apparently] an adult and these are made for teens), they wouldn't be an unpleasant viewing. But not so long ago, I subscribed to Disney Life to binge watch the old shows as often as I wanted to. But there was one show I couldn't help but take a little look at. And that was Liv And Maddie. A few episodes passed and that was it. Turns out despite the immature comedy and easy to figure out plots sometimes, there's something about the show I really like. I don't know what it is but I really do enjoy watching Liv And Maddie. Liv And Maddie stars Dove Cameron as both Liv Rooney & Maddie Rooney. Identical twin sisters who are reunited and living together after Liv comes back home after filming her own TV show for quite a long time. Remember earlier how I said women are more than just here to look pretty and nothing else? Well Liv And Maddie deals with this topic really well. They bring up topics from guys ranking the girls from 0-10 just on their appearance, schools putting more money & care to boy sports teams than girl teams and female actors getting more questioned about what they wear than their time on making the show. Liv And Maddie just screams girl power, and it's done perfectly well. The show ran for three seasons and a fourth with the updated title Liv And Maddie: Cali Style (pictured above). The show has something unique about it (joining the small list of DC shows that got the 4th season renewal such as That's So Raven, Hannah Montana & Good Luck Charlie) and Dove does a brilliant job of bringing such big personalities to life in two characters with the way the show is made. But it's not just this show that makes Dove a Disney Channel Queen. She also is a Disney Villain... Kinda...

Dove also stars as Mal, Maleficent's daughter in the Disney Channel Original Movie Descendants. Not going into too much detail because I've talked about Dove a lot but this film is pretty decent. A story about the kids of Disney heroes & villains is gonna catch my interest. Kenny Ortega who directed High School Musical did this as well so I can use that as an alibi to prove it isn't awful. And soon there is going to be a sequel and I am really excited to see it. I haven't been excited to see a DCOM since Camp Rock 2. So that is why Dove is in the list. Mirror Mirror, on the wall, who's the baddest of them all? I'm not genuinely asking, it a quote from the movie. I felt like I needed to put it there.
2. Becky G
Tumblr media
http://www.lionsgatepublicity.com/theatrical/powerrangers/
That's the longest I've ever gone not talking about Power Rangers. How did I mange that?! But carrying on with the list. Becky G is Number 2 on this list. She is a Pop Princess in the United States. Not that popular in the UK (yet), you may remember her collaboration with Cher Lloyd. But it's not just her music that puts her on this list. Like Naomi, Becky G plays Trini Kwan, the Yellow Ranger in the Power Rangers 2017 Reboot Movie. But Becky brings a change to her original 1993 character in such a great way and is a ranger you can really like. One of the things about her character is that she's gay. She admits this is in the movie and she talks about how she struggles moving home all the time and living with parents who want her to be perfect and how they believe in all these types of labels. And Becky's character deals with this topic in a small but brilliant way. Trini is the first openly gay Ranger in the whole PR universe and that's an amazing step forward. Power Rangers has been around for a long time and always been diverse with their many different cast members. The movies cast is also diverse and the fact that it's not just dealing with race but now sexuality as well, it's a brilliant thing. The cast and the way their characters are portrayed are done perfectly well. That's what makes Power Rangers a great movie. And Becky G plays a huge part in this, which is why I admire her.
1. Ariana Grande
Tumblr media

Another Pop Princess makes the list and takes the crown as Number 1. Ariana Grande needs no introduction and if you don't know who she is, you've been living under a rock. Even though I'm not her biggest fan, I still have serious GGL's for Ariana. I loved watching her play the role of Cat Valentine in the Nickelodeon series Victorious. The not so smart but still so talented character was portrayed by Ariana really well. Watching the series during its original run even made me want to meet Cat so much, I wanted her to be a real person. Her character was brilliant and brought so much laughter to me when watching the series. But it's not just the role of Cat that makes me love Ariana. Her voice is incredible! From listening to some amazing songs like The Way, Bang Bang, Problem & Break Free, it just proves how amazing her voice is. Have a little listen for yourself and you are most likely to agree with me.
Tumblr media
Just before Christmas 2016, Ariana took the role of Penny Pingleton in NBC's Hairspray Live! and like any acting job she takes, Ariana plays it perfectly well. Her verse in You Can't Stop The Beat is really enjoyable and you can't help but admire her collaboration with Dove Cameron (who is also in this TV Special) and Maddie Baillio for the song Mama, I'm A Big Girl Now. When watching the special, it's easy to see how much Ariana enjoyed playing the role of Penny and I much prefer her take on the character than the 2006 movie Penny. I can't help but love Ariana. So that concludes my Top 5 WCW. I'll do my best to post more on this blog since I do enjoy it but for now, thank you so much for spending time reading this and I hope you enjoyed it.

LOVE that the Scrambleverse apparently considers The Great Outfit Swap of 2023™ one of the defining moments of this season 😆. It’s not wrong…

Okay maybe I’m reading way too far into this, but I think Cory’s wearing pink all the time as a legitimate part of his strategy?
Like, his game seems to be built on the foundation of becoming the “little brother” (ha!) figure of the house so that people are more willing to let their guard down around him, and he’s been doing small things like sitting lower than everyone else and playing up the “starstruck/naïve nerd” persona to reinforce that image.
So maybe he’s intentionally wearing a pastel, “juvenile” color to make himself seem younger, so the other houseguests will subconsciously view him as harmless and not a threat to their game?
Or maybe he just really likes pink, for all I know! It’s just something interesting to think about.

this is gonna get me killed or y’all are gonna roll your eyes but I think if there’s anything Team Americory has to compare themselves to it’s Power Rangers Time Force
America: Wes - The figurehead. The mascot. Thinks she knows what she’s doing but really doesn’t. Ends up as a fan favorite.
Cory: Jen - The commander. Ultimately rallies the troops. Has a good head on his shoulders but can be stubborn and set on his ways. Probably has fallen for someone like America before.
Matt: Lucas - Chauvinistic asshole with a secret heart of gold and a love for someone elsewhere. Dreams of going fast.
Jag: Trip - There for ✨the vibes✨. Usually the funny guy but holds his own. Always got a thinking cap on.
Bowie Jane: Katie - Doesn’t know her own strength or has the potential to do a lot more than she is.
Meme: Eric - America’s foil. Equal in every way except for how they approach things. While America operates on ideals, Meme assesses facts. America tries to do more than what she needs, while Meme sees what’s in front of her and acts accordingly. They’re close but have the potential to be closer; their priorities just clash too much for it to work. The fans love her as well.
