covid diaries day six, a day out until F R E E D O M.

i reflect on the past week which has felt like a fever dream literally a blur and feverish 🥴

i have managed to tidy up most nooks and crannies of my room, napped a fair few naps, binge watched a bunch of shows/ movies including 'the thing about pam' (brilliant and disturbing) and used up like two boxes of tissues. lots of sniffles and coughs.

other movies i enjoyed:

this time in isolation has turned out to be a "reset" for the family and i. covid has no scruples, no worries in shutting your body down for a few days and forcing you to stop.

i have to try not get too carried away with how much i get up to tomorrow so as to not drain myself.

i am excited to be free, free again.

Healingwithsree My australian client is with me for therapy for several other things. She told me on the day of our meeting that just now I got the results and its positive. Singapore testing facility. Nothing is wrong with me :) I just was tested a month and a half ago and cane back negative. Two months at home, alone. I don’t envy my friends who has kids bouncing off the walls at home, but I wouldn’t recommend being completely alone either. If anyone thinks any of these 2 options is better than another one, think again. Even the worst introverts are sometimes crawling up the walls right now 😏 Video calls don’t replace hugs. On Monday, I took a rapid test and it appeared to come back positive.  Because of my other pending health issues such as CKD, muscle spasms, seasonal allergies, asthma, and my newly discovered hernia, it was difficult for me to interpret my symptoms.  If it hadn't been for others contacting me about their results, some positive and some negative, I would have chop it up as allergies.  My line was faint, but it looked quite different from the test I took a few weeks ago, before my trip to NYC.  Even though I was unsure, I still treated it like a positive.  I began isolating right away.  My emotions have been floating between pissed, guilt, and shame for most of the week.  On Monday, I did experience fatigue, chills, sweats, congestion, tightness in my chest, and a cough.  I didn't have the energy to cook or do anything.  I took Tylenol, soaked in epsom salt, took my muscle relaxers and then waited for it to get worse.  It didn't.  By Tuesday, most of my energy had come back.  I washed dishes, did laundry, and ate.  Never lost my sense of taste or smell.  Did have a few coughs here and there.  Today, the congestion was gone.  I sat on my back porch and felt the range of emotions again - pissed, guilt, and shame.  Because I let my guard down last Thursday and Friday.  I know better.  Today, I should have been sitting in gratitude, but I still wasn't quite sure.  My concerns were about the long term effects.  I soaked again in epsom salt.  Then had a virtual visit with my doctor.  She concluded that it was most likely positive and because I was vaccinated and boosted in the last six months, resulted in mild symptoms.  She also said it sounds like I am at the tail end of it.  She did prescribed a steroid for the tightness in my chest (if needed).  I encourage people to get vaccinated and boosted, but also to WEAR YOUR MASKS.  I slipped up.  Thursday was dumb on my part.  Friday I was in performance mode.  Now I will be conducting myself differently in between songs/sets.  Apologies to those I came in contact with maskless.  Tomorrow, I pick up some steroids and vitamins.  Friday, I go in for blood work to check on my kidneys. #kaluplinzy #coviddiary #covid (at Queen Rose Art House) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cc35oU_lWM9/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Black History Month coupled with the Internet can fill a lot of holes in the history books my generation grew up with. Those of us seeking ways to occupy our time during the pandemic are wise to use this time to educate ourselves.

Some of this Atlantic City history was reflected over the course of the Boardwalk Empire tv series, which depicted a mirror image of black and white criminal worlds.
