Not a day goes by where Im not thinking about these two poems

like come ONN.

you say, life’s not fair.

I say, you are wrong.

and you shout and strain at me; you raise pale fisted justice to accost the sun and howl to crack the sky. you know the rules. you fucking know.

and all the while, a beached whale learns the beauty of land by becoming it. and from that same black earth children are born, gritty-eyed and expanding gloriously. on bending limbs they toddle through the house of dead things, smiling and reaching and garbling to the ghosts. and they do not know pain exists beyond a bandaid. soon they will, but right now they laugh upon waking and do not know it is brave.

your fair and unfair exists in the mythology of brokenness, far from the shallow squashing of little feet in the mud. and in this, you are the jailer and the jailed, caught in a sticking trap of your own making while you warble a siren song towing others to their deaths.

I have no sympathy for you, for your fair and unfair; your rules rule by the rule, for the rule, and I will not be ruined.

tumblr user maybecowboycore/Cowpokeprose means everything to me. So many of their writings that I have seen cross platform have such a great impact on me it’s insane. Their stories always feel like a gut punch,, like someone holding my heart in a vise grip.

When Adam bit the apple he did it because he trusted Eve. Because he loved her. Adam bit into the apple because the woman he loved told him to, no matter what God said. No matter the rules of heaven. What’s heaven to his love anyway? What’s God to your lover? The first sins of humanity, were trusting others. Eve trusted a snake, Adam trusted Eve, and I trust you. Maybe that’s a sin, just like the first couple. Maybe everyone’s right about us and we’re sinners and we offend God. But like I said, what’s God to this love anyway? What has heaven got that I can’t find sitting next to you?

i feel kinda sad, a short story blog i liked on here deactivated. it was called cowpokeprose and now the urls been taken by a religious user i think. i reblogged some of their posts but im sad ill never be able to go through their entire blog again, they seemed really cool. does anyone know if this old blog has like a insta or something?
