È di nuovo mercoledì! Non si puó fuggire dall'incedere incessante del tempo. E non potete fuggire nemmeno dalla rubrica più futile del mondo chiamata "libri bellissimi con copertine fantastiche nella loro edizione in lingua originale che diventano piuttosto tristarelle nell'edizione in lingua italiana". Quest'oggi, sulla scia della mia nostalgia incurabile, parlo proprio di un libro di #ChristopherMoore: "Il Ritorno del Dio Coyote". Come si vede l'edizione italiana è piuttosto "antica", infatti è l'unico titolo non tradotto e pubblicato da #Elliot. Ovviamente io ce l'ho (e che stavate pure a domandarvelo? Davvero?) e ho fatto una fatica immane a trovarlo in uno stato decente, ma alla fine l'ho trovato (e non sapete che gioia infinita quando mi è arrivato!). La storia l'ho amata davvero molto perché tratta un po' anche degli indiani d'america, di chi è sempre bene ricordare l'importanza, dell'appartenenza e delle origini. La solita mania che ha Moore di prendere una cosa che è già bella e trasformarla in eccezionale. La copertina dell'edizione americana io la trovo bella, colorata, incisiva e gradevole. La copertina dell'edizione italiana, ehm. Per non parlare poi dell'adattamento del titolo in traduzione che poteva benissimo essere lasciato così com'è, no? Ci saremmo arrivati lo stesso a capirlo, leggendolo. Ma siamo italiani. E quindi ci becchiamo gli adattamenti e stiamo zitti. Leggetelo questo Coyote se avete la fortuna di trovarlo. A me è piaciuto tanto tanto. The Kingdom of Genosha is in the midst of a brutal civil war. As Queen Emma Frost-Shaw battles to secure her claim to the Genoshan throne, even the most powerful families risk annihilation if they stand in her way. She seeks to bring the Great Houses to heel through whatever means necessary, but House Xavier – the leader of the Western Rebellion – is not going down without a fight. As battle lines are drawn, old loyalties rise, new friends and foes are made, and all mutants must decide for themselves where their allegiances truly lay. Think of this story as “Game of Thrones” meets a very AU X-Men. Comics inspiration incorporated when possible, and main character cast from “X-Men: First Class” and “Days of Future Past.” Features: drama, graphic violence, very adult scenes (yep, I’m finally writing porn with plot), and while Raven and Charles are the tale’s main characters, there will be multiple POVs as it progresses.
