Did I make an au just for a rarepair? Yes, but heres my idea of a shen twin au
In my version Shen Yuan transmigrates into the body of 5 yr old Shen Shi, twin of Shen Jiu. It is very important to note that in this au SJ and YQ refer to SY with "A-Shi" and "Xiao-Shi" respectively, and SY takes up the identity of Shen Shi. SY is also fully cognizant when he migrates so he has the complete thoughts of a 20~ yr old while in the body of a 5 yr old. This causes some major dysphoria and also anger at the helplessness of being in a body that does not fit him and also the fact that he has no social nor physical power because he is a child. He also views SJ and YQ as his little brothers even if he is actually the youngest physically.
He eventually is taken in my the Qiu family alongside his brother. It is when SJ starts to bond with Qiu Haitang that it finally pieces together that his brother is going to be SQQ and grieves for the events that he knows is going to happen to him. The building rage and anger at the helplessness of the situation culminates in Shen Yuan starting the massacre with SJ instantly jumping in and causing the majority of deaths. When SJ carries out the unconscious body of Qiu Haitang SY realizes the opportunity in front of him. He knows that she is going to be the kickstarter of his brother's downfall and in that moment grabs the nearest weapon, and with a heavy heart, kills her as SJ watches in shock. He turns to SJ telling him "You can't leave any witnesses, they always eventually spill" before both run off. I dont know what to do with the Wu Yanzi so I'm ignoring it for now. And im also unsure if he gets a system but we'll see.
Eventually they meet up with Yue Qi now Yue Qingyuan and the anger SJ has towards him. SY is also angry but its more so for SJ's sake than his own. The two of them become a part of Cang Qiong sect and while SJ is taken in by the Qing Jing peak, SY is taken in by the beast and flora peak (which I do not have named). They both become head disciples and later peak lords. SY also is able to clock that SQH is not the original version due to airplane saying a modern phrase and a friendship forms. SY is also the one to start biting and defending his brother when QQQ or LQG take potshots at him. It's while they are still disciples that SY meets Su Xiyan while hes on a mission and they worked together for a bit before SXY split. They continued to meet up until eventually a friendship formed and SY meets TLJ a "companion" of SXY. SY clocks who the two of them are goes to SQH to learn all he can about them and their future. SXY and TLJ eventually fall for each other and SY makes sure to prevent the palace master from finding out as long as he can. He also warns them about the palace master and to not trust any letters not hand delivered by SY as he will act as a middle person to make sure no one intercepts them. It is also during this time that SXY and TLJ both gain interest in SY. Neither can explain fully why but his autistic swag, photographic memory and ability to name drop paragraph long information in seconds intrigued them. They start courting him, shen yuan is of course oblivious. It is also important that SY introduced himself to TLJ and SXY with the name "Shen Yuan" so only the two of them refer to each other as such. He also clocks when SXY is pregnant and tells her as such when symptoms start to show and again, not to trust the palace master. By this time he is now a peak lord alongside his brother.
Eventually the old palace master finds out and instead of targeting TLJ, he first targets their lynch pin, shen yuan. He sends letters to SJ and YQY about SY being a traitor. Showing him being a demon sympathizer and hanging out sect secrets that actually SQH was leaking due to the system. SY is captures, a trial occurs and SY is charged as guilty with the punishment of execution, but YQY and SJ object. Since it was CQ secrets he was sharing they have the official say. So instead of execution they instead lock him up on the beast peak using talismans and sigils. He is not allowed to talk to anyone besides fellow peak lords and his head disciple. He cannot leave the peak without another peak lord monitoring him and this also applies when teaching. This lockdown completely breaks him as he lost trust with his family and the confinement dives him crazy as a peak lord he commonly left to document and work upon his bestiaries. This leaves him in a depressive state and constantly paranoid as he cant trust anyone. And No One has told him definitive news if SXY and TLJ are safe, SQH has confirmed that TLJ was not captured and helped SXY but he has no clue where they are now and if baby LBH is with them. As SY is confined on his mountain he stops caring about appearances and starts wasting away seen in image 3. I havent figured the rest out with LBH but he does become a part of cang qiong sect under Qing Jing, the abuse he faces stays the same. If he is raised with TLJ and SXY or by the washer woman I do not know yet. LBH hearing about the rumors of a monster on the beast peak heads out and comes face to face with SY who is delighted to see him but also horrified that about 14+ years have now passed. This pushes him a little out of his depressive episode because now he has a son to take care of and he can't waste away in front of him. He needs to act strong. He teaches LBH the best he can while contained and tells him about his parents. The two form a father son dynamic where both cant really escape the situation they are in but at least have each other for company. SY also holds onto LBH's jade pendant so it isnt lost. He also tells LBH that if he meets a demon named TLJ, to mention the name Shen Yuan.
While on a mission LBH meets up with TLJ and tells him that he's met SY and TLJ loses it (pos). He asks where he is as SXY and TLJ have been trying to find him with no success. He is told that hes on the beast peak in cang qiong and has been contained there for the last 16 years. TLJ then hatches a game plan to free him and the decide to use the immortal conference as a distraction. Most of the cultivation world will be at that conference so minimal security will be held at the sect. They use this to their advantage. TLJ strikes a deal with MBJ to cause a distraction to keep the cultivation world on the two of them even if alarms go off that SY is escaping. MBJ agrees to this as TLJ allows him to target any huan hua disciple he sees (they dont tell SXY this). While they cause a distraction by appearing on the 7th day of the conference, SXY sneaks into cang qiong peak and works on the talisman and sigils. This works and eventually she gets to SY he sees the bad shape he is in, but it was better than what LBH originally saw. The two of them start crying and SXY activates a 2 way communication artifact with TLJ telling him it was a success.
TLJ then turns to MBJ and MBJ teleports, appears in front of SXY and SY and teleports the two of them to the demon world. TLJ then turns to his son who's demon seal now broke and decides to do some father son bonding and the two both go into the eternal abyss together, as this is a tradition for heavenly demons. The two of them return after 1-2 years and have MBJ teleport them out rather than using Xin Mo.

I know ranting about Birthright's localization is kind of my new obnoxious thing, but the really unfortunate aspect about it is that I very much love Birthright's main narrative structure and themes.
Much like how Conquest is a spin on how you're effectively playing the Camus role in the conflict and grappling with the baggage that comes with it, Birthright is also flip on the traditional FE plot. Instead of Corrin having his home taken over during war, becoming an exile/refugee, and needing to gather other allies to take it back, he actively sides against the home he knew his entire life. Corrin's desire to stop the war as quickly as possible and his disgust towards Nohr's crimes overrides his personal fondness towards Nohr as the place where he grew up surrounded by love and strong familial connection.
This is why his Birthright supports with Azura are about his fond memories with Nohr juxtaposing with Azura's abusive childhood and Hoshidans' general sentiment towards Nohra as a country, because the things he sacrificed when choosing Hoshido were his personal attachments. That's why Birthright's plot is an in-universe retread of Corrin's character: an inexperienced, but extremely kind-hearted and trusting prince who believes in the good of others. This is who Corrin was in Nohr, but since he's chosen Hoshido, that facet of his character must be built up with his Hoshidan allies. Why else would his Hoshidan siblings react with surprise and confusion over Corrin's naive choices? They don't know him, and so, Corrin's convictions and morality must be developed in order to have his Hoshidan allies trust his judgment. Otherwise, what was the point in siding with Hoshido? Why sever the bond with your adoptive family when your new allies meet your every decision with resistance and criticism?
Conquest, as many know, asks the opposite question. What's the point in siding with Nohr and your longtime family if Corrin's unable to change how his country operates? Why sacrifice personal morality, in that case? Birthright and Conquest are meant to be opposite but equal journey's for Corrin's character. Corrin wants peace to reign but are they willing to throw away either their ideals or their bonds to do that? Revelation, in the middle, then answers the question with "neither." Corrin doesn't have to sacrfice any part of his character to end conflict (hence why his personal authenticity and ego is challenged the most in Rev). He instead has to see how Nohr and Hoshido's war is senseless at its core and seeks to end it through both ideals and bonds. All three routes are supposed to work as answers to this question of choice.
And this is precisely why Birthright's localization is as bad as it is. Because any and all negative results of Corrin's decision to side with Hoshido are either sanitized or removed entirely, and Corrin's personality was changed from self-critical, sincere, and sensitive to cocky, sarcastic, and quick to criticize everyone else.
When Corrin no longer feels the personal guilt for his decision ripping his Nohrian family apart, or for his decision resulting in the deaths of Flora, Elise, and Xander, you remove the weight that choosing Hoshido is supposed to have. When Corrin is overly critical of the actions and words from Flora, Leo, Camilla, and Xander, as opposed to being sympathetic to their plight as a result of his choice, you instead enforce the idea "well obviously this is the right choice, and Nohr isn't" when none of the choices in that situation is supposed to be absolutely perfect or correct. By changing Birthright in this way, and leaving Conquest and Revelation mostly intact, you weaken the latter two stories. When BR Corrin is proactive, quick to shift blame, and self-assured, CQ Corrin reads as spineless, whiny and pathetic, and RV Corrin reads as wishy washy and self absorbed. What's the point in caring about what stories CQ and RV are trying to tell when the main character is so radically different from BR, and to many people, unappealing? Why else would Birthright be crowned the "only non-terrible story" in Fates, if not for the fact that almost all of the nuance around choosing Hoshido was scrubbed clean and replaced by a generic strongman (not even up to par of other action oriented lords in FE) in a Corrin costume? Birthright is now the "obviously correct" route that's headed by a badass who says fun one liners. What's not to like?
Corrin was written to be a specific character with specific traits: kind, naive, trusting, well defined morals, values personal attachments, quick to question himself, able to sacrifice a part of himself to attain a goal.
Birthright in its original script follows this just fine. Birthright's localized script inadvertently warps and simplifies its main protagonist, and so drags itself and the other two routes' stories down tremendously in the process.

random rev observations as we head into valla:
jakob/severa is really really cute. (s/o to @/wonderlandteaparty for reccing that). their whole support chain was endearing as it was hammy, and i especially love severa's c support with dwyer and her being refreshingly honest about jakob's faults as much as she loves him LOL - charmingly goofy, but honest. it's making me regret i have too many staff users to put dwyer in the rotation but i'll be using him another route soon (maybe CQ with flora?) fates is definitely the only fe where i have an excess of staff users on average.
kana sucks so bad as a dread fighter lol, it's mostly his abyssmal lack of str. i may have to reclass him back into a dragon for the dragonstone (< this is probably the fault of gunter growths, i'm just in denial LOL).
azama is. so weird. i haven't gotten a bead on him yet and so far i think i like just how. absolutely balls off the wall morbid (refreshingly so?) he is... i also really like how he gives no shits about how "likeable" he comes across, and yet how it doesn't come across as a ""quirk". he's either going to climb surprisingly high on the favorites list or on the dislike list depending on how good the supports are. (tentatively supporting him with azura?)
using only non royals is hard. still doable unlike CQ lunatic (disregarding crazy minmaxing), but i'm having to turtle along since everyone's as flimsy as wet paper. kagero's a decent mage tank and subaki's an okay physical tank as a grandmaster but still folds to a critical. (tho i liked their supports too. him being genuinely supportive of her painting was cute too.)
speaking of it's kind of hilarious when corrin/gunter (paired up) is by far my best tank with his +6/+4 to her def/str and the extra-fast guard activation.
him protecting her like that is kind.... of .... morbidly...... amusing.... considering .... what's happening to him plot wise >:D >:D >:D

so......if snow queen was with Simon during his adventure with fionna and cake, three things would happen
Fionna and cake are now added to the hord of children they keep adopting
Betty attempts to murder winter king who has mixed feelings for her
Betty vs candy queen fighting for the hand of simon
The last one is more of something I want to see for chaotic purposes
Fionna and Cake would go fairly differently in my AU, but the basic concept of ‘traversing the multiverse in search of a crown’ would be the same!
Fionna and Cake absolutely get adopted and added to The Collective alongside Marceline, Finn, Jake, and Gunther, who are all very happy to have new siblings (they WILL meet, I swear by the gods I don’t believe in that I will make them be friends). I feel like Fern and Flora are also added to this for some reason? But I have a separate thing for this AU regarding Fern so we won’t get into that right now.
yes, Snow Betty’s immediate reaction upon meeting Wrong Simon, as she calls him, is to try and throw down. which she wins because she’s fucking crazy and therefore has far less reservation in a fight than the guy who likes to think he’s sane. is Winter King still completely insane? yes of course! but Snow Betty is unhinged. she’s well aware that there’s something seriously wrong with her and she’s embracing it, and that is what makes her a bigger threat. plus, Winter King probably underestimates her due to 1. his apparent disregard for his own Betty (calling her ‘the dead one’), and 2. his disregard for people who act ‘crazy’, such as the Candy Queen. WK didn’t seem to think she was a threat until he was literally inches away from getting blended like the smoothie, so I could definitely see him not taking Snow Betty seriously until she’s got a pointed icicle a centimeter from his throat.
as for the third item on our lovely list, Candy Queen and Snow Betty would either mutually bond over their own Simons, ot they would both end up fighting over the superior one (ie, Candy Queen tries to snatch Magic Simon and Snow Betty is having none of it). I think they definitely throw down after Snow Betty has thoroughly curbstomped Winter King, so the fight with CQ is probably what leads to either Snow Betty or Magic Simon realizing ‘oh somebody’s offloading a curse onto you aren’t they’. after that they’re able to fix it with Magic Simon’s abilities (yes I know that seems beyond his scope of power, but the Fionna and Cake arc takes place after a Certain Other Event that I really need to make a post about at some point, which will explain the whole thing).

Flora Lore Meta 01 - Regarding Birthright
Given that Flora in the Birthright Route of Fates is (a) not recruitable, (b) only relevant for 2 maps hey I guess that's better than CQ/Rev's 1 though! and (c) heavily shown at face value, practically coming and going after her death, I have decided to lay out Flora's activities from once the route split begins to her showdown in BR chapter 17. This is very relevant to how I portray her with TOA, and does include reference to other Fates muses. Any current muses in TOA (which only amounts to Iago, honestly) have been asked for use in this meta.
Oh, and for reference, I will refer to Birthright as BR, Conquest as CQ, and Revelations as Rev in this meta. Additionally, I refer to "Corrin" within this meta under the assumption that they are male or female (hence the default "they/them/their" pronouns).
Part 1: Route Comparisons (CQ and Rev vs. BR)
To start, I would like to quickly go over where Flora is/ends up on all 3 routes. Flora is battled in Birthright in Chapter 17, Conquest in Chapter 8, and Revelations in Chapter 12. Let's start with CQ, where she is met the earliest.
CQ CHAPTER 8 - COLD RECEPTION
Probably the most "similar" to BR thanks to the reuse in map and general matchup of Corrin vs. Flora. One obvious key difference off the back is the purpose of fighting Flora: to put down the Ice Tribe's plans of rebellion against Nohr. Along with that, Flora only serves as a mini-boss rather than chapter boss, playing more defensively with a Steel Dagger and Freeze staff. That is because the actual boss of this map is Kilma, the current Ice Tribe chief and father of Flora and Felicia!
...we never see him outside of this chapter. Don't worry about that.
When it comes to narrative, Corrin naturally resolves to clear tensions non-lethally, refusing to harm any villagers after clearing the map. Flora appears briefly in the aftermath, concerned if she can still serve her liege after threatening their life. They tell her to not worry, where Flora truly devotes her loyalty to Corrin. However, she only joins Corrin's army in their pocket dimension after Chapter 18 (likely lying low with the Ice Tribe to act like the rebellion was truly quelled).
A few highlights of information from this chapter (some possibly unrelated to the task at hand): several snippets of Felicia-exclusive dialogue seem to imply Felicia is slightly aware of their status as Nohrian hostages, yet she still seems to hesitate on finer details.
Felicia: Flora! H-How could you say such a dreadful thing? Fighting was supposed to be a last resort! Can't we talk this out? Or at least try to? Flora: Felicia, dear sister... You've always been ignorant to the ways of the Nohrians. War is the only language they understand. Side with them and you'll pay the price! (Cold Reception Pre-Battle Cutscene)
Flora: You really don't understand, do you? This goes beyond words. Don't you realize, all of our time in that castle was... I mean, it was just... Felicia: What are you saying, sister? Flora: Forget it, there's no point telling you now, after all that's happened. Let's get on with it. You may be my sister, but I won't go easy on you! (Cold Reception Felicia vs. Flora)
Additionally, this is one of two times Flora admits feeling for Jakob, the other being in their BR boss dialogue.
Flora: Jakob... In the b-beginning, I never swore my allegiance. I refused. After all, we were little more than hostages. Taken as children... All to prevent this from happening, to stop the Ice Tribe from rebelling. I often thought of running away, but I never did. I stayed...because of you... Jakob: Flora... Flora: I don't want or need your pity, Jakob! Let's finish this! (Cold Reception Jakob vs. Flora)
Her feelings toward characters can be saved for another day, but to sum up; this chapter heavily implies Flora planning to leave her maidly duties to pursue her life's true meaning in rebelling against the Nohrians that have kidnapped her.
REV CHAPTER 12 - FROZEN SEA
I won't go into as much detail here as the CQ section, partially because it feels like a heavily abridged version of her purpose in other routes. This time, she collaborates with Camilla in attempting to kill Corrin by freezing the sea they are currently traveling on. Her tribe is being threatened with death if the traitor isn't killed, similar to what will happen in BR. Also, shoutout for Flora being the boss here instead of Camilla? Maid power.
There isn't even any unique boss dialogue to go over here, and Felicia/Jakob's dialogue pre-battle is disappointingly very copy-paste of one another. Otherwise, the post-battle involves Flora holding off from joining Corrin due to needing to keep the Ice Tribe and her father (wow he gets mentioned!) from Garon. She does join later in the game just like CQ, this time joining after Chapter 22.
I wish there was more to go over here, but Flora is not immune to having to share the space of literally every other playable unit that is squished together throughout Rev.
BR CHAPTER 17 - LOST IN THE ICE
Her canon event.
I would like to be brief here, as the main meat of the meta is meant to cover how she gets to this point in the first place. Flora leads Corrin's party into the Ice Tribe village after the events of the previous chapter, in which Iago attacked the party within one of Garon's villas while Flora was conveniently present as well. While she fronts this route as a practical way to avoid the Nohrian troops stationed on the main path, Flora traps them within the village in an attempt to kill Corrin and Felicia.
The map is shared between CQ, but this one has a neat twist. While in CQ, the player races the enemies in visiting villages to prevent them from summoning reinforcements, BR has it so only the player visits villages, with most containing sneak attack reinforcements. This can be taken as the villagers being more prepared for battle compared to in CQ; able to react to Corrin's movements rather than surrendering immediately.
The boss-specific dialogue and post-battle is where Flora mainly reveals her resolve in battling. Before the fight, she claims she is acting on her own free will, only to debunk that after losing. She claims Garon himself threatened to murder her people, and she was forced to choose between them or Corrin and Felicia. She is faced with such immense guilt in failing to live up to protecting either choice, ultimately deciding to end her life.
Fun fact! If f!Corrin is chosen, Felicia joins right before Chapter 16 so that she doesn't miss the death of her sister. This also means that a player can get all of the boss dialogue in one run and does not miss out based on Corrin's gender. Unfortunately, said boss dialogue is rather generic, although this exchange with Corrin has always tickled me:
Corrin: Flora! Why are you doing this? Please! There must be a reason. Flora: I told you already. You betrayed Nohr. Now quit asking about it! Corrin: This isn’t you... Flora: You don’t even know the real me. Now it’s time for you to die! (Lost in the Ice Corrin vs. Flora)
Similar to her guilt after her CQ chapter, Flora implies that her time at the Northern Fortress was merely a front and that she never cared about living there despite being Corrin's retainer.
BR is definitely Flora's most interesting route on a story-front (slightly backed up by her appearing in Chapters 16 and 17), however there have always been loose ends for me. For one, where the hell is Kilma? He is never mentioned here, and even though Flora claims she must speak with the elders before returning with soldiers...
Corrin: Brr! Where's that warm cabin you promised, Flora? Flora: Just a minute, Lord/Lady Corrin. I need to check in with the village elders. Corrin: By all means. But please, hurry back—we're freezing out here! (Lost in the Ice Pre-Battle)
...I want to go against what the Fandom wiki states and believe this line is not referring to Kilma; Flora uses this excuse as a front to rally the villagers to battle. Where is Kilma then? Good question!
Flora also produces a heavy nationalistic front for Nohr in this chapter, though this front is easily teared away once she has failed in her mission. Why would she do this if her general aim throughout these Fates routes is to defeat Corrin and protect the Ice Tribe?
These questions and more are what I hope to answer throughout this meta. I would like to use the information provided in the other two routes to create a general narrative that explains how Flora ends up in the villa during BR - and later crossing blades with them.
Part 2: The Offscreen Narrative
To start, Flora's actions nearly parallel how CQ plays out. After Corrin departs from the Northern Fortress and ultimately makes their route choice, Flora is dismissed from the fort. She spends a small amount of time serving the Nohrian royalty until taking her chance to escape and reunite with her father in the Ice Tribe village. With all of the chaos of a new war breaking out, they agree that this is the best time to finally rebel against their oppressors and rise up against Nohr.
Only, two problems. For one, Nohr holds the clear advantage at the start of this conflict, wasting little time in sending an anti-rebellion force to the Ice Tribe, once again just like CQ. But problem 2, and unlike CQ, Corrin isn't assigned to stop the rebellion this time. The army is much more in-character, and stops at nothing to crush the last-second rebellion.
I'd like to propose that Hans leads this force. His appearances in BR are rather back-loaded, only showing up in Chapter 13 and 24, so whatever he gets up to in early game is up for grabs. In a sense, his purpose here can be similar to what Garon did to Corrin in CQ: seeing the Ice Tribe uprising as a simple obstacle to throw a pawn at to prove their loyalty. Plus, CQ loved to show how Hans handles stopping a rebellion in Cheve...
Either way, the Ice Tribe stands no chance against a Nohrian army that lacks mercy. It likely plays out much like the aftermath of CQ Cheve, where even innocents are not spared from their wrath. It takes until the tribe leader and her daughter are captured for the needless killing to end, and both are taken to Garon at Castle Krakenburg. They are kept prisoner there for some time, holding back from being murdered due to Flora's previous relations to Corrin. An asset that he can manipulate and get use from.
Eventually, after Corrin begins to swing the war in their favor, he comes up with a plan. A plan that requires the help of Iago...as well as Flora.
Flora is released from captivity and promised that the Ice Tribe will be spared on one condition: she collects the heads of Corrin and Felicia, her twin that has recently left and is now also branded traitor. Even when considering the lives of her sister and the prince/princess she has raised for many years, Flora cracks and chooses to save the lives of the people she has always expected to lead. While she prefers this execution to be silent and brief, Iago has a more dramatic and fun idea.
He takes her to Palace Macarath, one of Garon's vacation villas. The Nohrian troops are purposefully decreased within the building, with the idea being that Flora ends up running into the Hoshidan army, who sneak in with a false sense of security. Prince Takumi turning ill is only a boon, allowing Flora to heal him and look more innocent before an inevitable betrayal.
Flora would not be alone, though, as Iago arrives on the scene shortly afterwards. He gleefully plants doubt in Corrin's mind while putting on a grand show with Flora. The maid acts as a neutral party, only to be slapped down three times by fire magic. A theatrical they planned in advance, yes. Though the choice of fire certainly stings.
Once defeated, Iago continues to grow those seeds of doubt before departing and setting up Flora to do the rest. When Corrin even mentions the potential of a traitor in their party, Flora ignores the comment. Likely just because she is quick to care for the sick Takumi, but it is a rather chilling word to wake to, one that falls perfectly in line with her own future actions.
The rest of the events play out similar enough to what is shown in-game. Flora offers the Hoshidan army refuge within her tribe's village, only to turn on them and desperately kill her closest allies and win back favor with King Garon. Afraid of finding out her fate after failure, Flora decides to take the lethal way out, preventing her father, Corrin, Felicia, or anyone else from being disappointed by her.
-
Now that we are finished with the timeline, I would like to answer and discuss some specific details. For one, the giant elephant missing father in the room. He was captured after the failed rebellion, yes, but what about his fate afterward? In Flora's mind, when Garon threatened the state of the entire Ice Tribe, that included her father as well. So when she decides to follow Garon's command, she is doing so to protect the village and her father. And when she ends up failing?
Garon no longer has need for Kilma. You can make of that what you will.
Furthermore, it would be strange for Garon and Iago to rely entirely on Flora to take out Corrin's army, even if the move is moreso emotional manipulation against Corrin. Flora, just like her initial forced recruitment as a maid, is merely a pawn in Garon's eyes, an additional piece that can be moved only for the sake of moving.
As for Iago, BR as a whole has Iago playing a lot more defensively, especially so once Corrin marches into Nohrian territory. Even if the plan of sending Flora against the army isn't an ideal or optimal one, Iago sees it as a dispensable plan, one to stall for time while he comes up with a more sound strategy. Hence his future preparations to trap Corrin in Fort Dragonfall and the final attempts to stop them.
Lastly, regarding Flora's contradicting nationalism during her boss fight...to me, I imagine her speaking these as the empty words they are. She is not fighting for Nohr, she still sees this more as fighting for survival. In the case that Nohrian eyes are still on Flora, however, she must act faithful until the very end. Anything for her people.
Conclusion/Timeline
To conclude this (very) long meta, I would like to provide a simpler, bullet-pointed list to outline what Flora does between her departure from the Northern Fortress and her defeat at the Ice Tribe Village in BR.
After Corrin leaves the Northern Fortress, the servants are dismissed from the location and sent to other areas within Nohr. As a trusted maid, I imagine that Flora is sent to Castle Krakenburg along with Felicia/Jakob to serve the royal family.
Flora bides her time while serving the Nohrian princes/princesses, eventually capitalizing on the confusion thanks to Corrin's betrayal to escape and return to her father in the Ice Tribe Village.
Garon is already aware of the Ice Tribe planning rebellion, and learning of Flora's departure is the last straw. Hans is sent to quell the rebellion, a task meant to prove his loyalty to Nohr.
Hans and his forces squash the rebellion army easily, going beyond and slaughtering innocents before they finally surrender with the capture of Kilma and his daughter.
Flora and Kilma are imprisoned in Castle Krakenburg for a while, until Flora is brought out with a deal: deliver the heads of Corrin and Felicia or else her entire village falls. Flora puts her people above her liege and twin sister.
Together with Iago, Flora sets up a scheme of betrayal where she will meet with the Hoshidan army within Palace Macarath and act as an ally to lure them into her village.
Flora fails and melts down from the surrounding pressure.
I hope this meta serves well in illustrating Flora's actions throughout Fates' Birthright route and explain why she feels the way she does toward her allies/foes on a general level.

Someone on the subreddit made a possible fallen alts post and it legitimately has me question the entire fandom like - a majority of the choices are just "characters who sided against the main characters at some point", like the Birthright characters on Conquest and Conquest characters on Birthright. Like in what way does simply siding against the mc make a character "fallen" or "evil"?? Rhea on CF is also listed even though we have Fallen Rhea from SS!
I saw that one! Just speaking to the games I know I think a lot of them make sense, even if the justifications are just blatantly wrong. The 3H slide is probably the most "I was reaching" one to my eyes. The emblem versions of all the lords are also a biiiiiiit of a stretch until we see actual emblem alts of the characters, IMO.
For Houses/Hopes CF Rhea and AG Edelgard seem like a bit of a stretch just because they'd basically just be the same as their SS Rhea/AM Edelgard counterparts... like I don't see why they'd bother reusing them unless they were really hurting for options (and clearly they aren't, Fates alone could fill like six fallen banners by itself if they wanted).
Fallen!Byleth (not emblem) also seems like a stretch since they're apparently referencing exactly one thirty second cutscene where Sothis is temporarily in control of Byleth's body. Monica seems redundant since her "fallen" form is just Kronya and they've already done Kronya, and Jeritza as a fallen is like... that's just how he is all the time lol, unless there's something in SB that I'm missing. I've already bitched enough about how fallen Marianne is deeply ingrained fanon/headcanon with extremely minimal basis in actual canon.
From the 3H slide I think only Aelfric, Dedue, Miklan, and the Shezes really make sense as options. The former three all have clear human forms that they lose and turn into monsters, and Shez's Arval takeover only lasts for a chapter but I could reasonably see a "what if" scenario kind of like they did with the Corrins not getting their dragonstones.
The Fates slide is kind of "right church, wrong pew" in that most of the characters make sense, but as Heirs of Fate alternatives not BR/CQ alternatives. Every father character features in Heirs of Fate as an Anankos puppet so any of them could technically work for the theme. Similar deal with Mikoto, Arete, and Sumeragi, they all appear as Anankos puppets in Rev.
Gunter would also work, though he's almost definitely not going to be getting any sort of alt because of real world concerns (his JP VA died before FEH even released. All of his JP lines for his base form are recycled from Fates and because of the way Japan does voice acting, we can assume the character is retired from here on out unless they're willing to recycle more lines from Fates). Anakos would also be an obvious pick but IIRC he shared a VA with Gunther (at least partially, he might have had two different VAs one for the human and one for the dragon form or something so the circumstances might be slightly different for him). But I don't blame OP for not necessarily knowing that and they do fit the theme.
I'm not sure what they're referencing with Flora and Rhajat (it's been a hot minute since I replayed Fates) so I hesitate to say they wouldn't work, but idk. I think the only stretch there is Anthony just because no one is gonna pull for a random NPC child and IIRC he's just always like that, he never really "fell".
The Engage slide mostly makes sense actually. The only questionable one is the character who is brainwashed for like one chapter and then is literally fine, but I'm sure if they wind up being popular IS would be willing to do another "what if" type thing for them.
I think for Awakening the OP only pulled out Risen King!Chrom which... honestly I can definitely see. IS considers Cipher ideas fair game for these banners (e.g. F!Ike) and Chrom being a fairly popular main character is definitely going to be considered for a banner carry slot.
I definitely played SoV but only once in 2015 because I didn't like it that much and I literally don't remember enough of it to say if any of those options are bad picks lmao.

SST (Slow Speed Test) was good last night. 40 m was actually a really productive choice of band after what feels like a few weeks of solar activity, unsettling everything.
Worked five stations, but only two of them were actually part of the slow speed test. Turns out the flying pigs QRP club was doing a thing as well as a guy calling CQ WWFF which was new to me, worldwide, Flora and Fauna.
Figured out the non-club call for the flying pigs so they could at least get the points for the QSO and got the floor and fauna guy in the log.
I copied today's #Morsle at 40 WPM! https://morsle.fun it’s a classy one today.

did Birthright's story have a particular strong suit to you, such as the pacing or character writing? i wasn't really able to enjoy it myself but i'm still curious about what others might like about it. aaand, any particular supports stand out to you?
Personally I didn’t find much noteworthy about Birthright. I mean it’s not bad nor I would call it bland like many other people do, but there is some credit to the fact that it’s kind of your average Fire Emblem experience, even if the Japanese aesthetic does give it a new coat of paint. And honestly, just this made me realize that we really need more varied aesthetics in FE than generic medieval fantasy, regardless of how well it’s executed.
I feel that Birthright has kind of a “Monster of the Week” aesthetic until the final chapters, where every chapter you go to new places and face different enemies, but the chapters don’t feel... connected? I don’t really know how to explain it, it’s just that I didn’t feel there was much tying them together. It wasn’t much of an issue to me since I tended to play one chapter a day, but I imagine it gets tiring fast if you play a bunch of them at once.
But it does have its strong moments, like in the final chapters, the characters that sure, you can call them simple but they are also really endearing (also, simple does not equal bad) and most of them have room for more exploration even if the game doesn’t provide it. Or maybe it does, but no way I’m gonna read all of the supports. There’s a buttload of them and I imagine they get redundant fast. The death scenes were hit or miss, but when they hit they hit hard. Flora’s death scene was a bit silly in execution but Felicia and Corrin’s reactions... fuck. They sold the scene on their own. Elise and Azura’s too are really heartfelt imo! (I wish I could say the same about Xander but I got sick of his shit waaaay before he died, his CQ and Rev versions will have to pull a lot of weight for me to end up liking him) Speaking of Elise, I was pleased that you actually get to spend a few chapters with her before she... you know. I really liked Corrin too, I didn’t expect them to be this witty and... kinda self-aware at times? Like telling Flora Garon would have just burned her village down anyway and other stuff I can’t remember sadly? To me they were a really good example of someone being trusting but not stupid and the mainstream FE fandom can eat my ass on that one, but it was also kinda funny and cathartic to see how sick they got of the villains’ shit in the final chapters. And after playing BR, I can’t understand the complaint that Corrin is bloodthirsty in this route, because they always try diplomacy first, save for the laughably evil trio of Garon, Hans and Iago. And to be honest, I’m glad that’s not the case. Overall Birthright was kinda average but still fun and enjoyable to play! I haven’t gotten many supports (something that happened to me also in Awakening and i feel I’m doing something wrong, I wish you could gain support points for units within 3 spaces like in Echoes), but some of my faves that I got were Ryoma/Scarlet (I later found out it was actually added in the Gay Fates hack I installed, shame it wasn’t canon because it’s one of my faves and the two work so well together, I even ended up marrying them, here’s the video if you want to give it a look) and Kaze/Hinoka! (This one is actually about Hinoka’s relationship with Sakura, but the fact that Hinoka gives her sister space while talking to her in a way that makes her comfortable and only forcibly talking to her in person if she feels she’s distressed is incredibly caring and sweet and gosh I love this family so much)

2, 3, 11 & 16 for the fates ask game!!!!
Aahh thanks pal! 😊
2. Favorite character from Hoshido/BR?
Ooh, okay I'm indecisive so you get a few favorites 😅 I love Hana, Subaki, and Saizo! Hana is beautiful and cool and strong and funny (and I genuinely love her voice ;-;). I love how protective she is over Sakura and her confidence in herself through everything. I mostly just loved Subaki's aesthetic and his perfectionism made me Feel. And although he was real extra at the beginning, I grew to really love Saizo! I love the drama and angst and relationship with his twin :)
3. Favorite character from Nohr/CQ
Definitely Elise! I thought she was so sweet, and loved her strength and light throughout all the terrible things she faced 🥺💖. Shes got got sane impressive little sister strength as Sakura, but with a social element of befriending everyone she meets that I find so admirable. Not a single character, but I adore how Leo, Odin, and Niles's personalities come together in their retainer-royal relationship.
11. What do you feel is underappreciated about Fates?
I feel like some of the relationships we're kind of forgotten about as the game went on, and I understand it's hard to dwell too much on them with everything that's going on. Still, I would have loved to see more attention/depth regarding Corrin and Lilith's connection, Corrin and Gunter's (because without it, that scene in Revelations fell flat), the older siblings and Garon because they remembered his old self, Felicia and Flora (especially in Birthright), and others like that.
16. Who's your favorite antagonist and why?
Story-wise it's your dude Garon: he's the perfect blatantly evil dad/corrupt king, turns into a monster in the end, comes with angst afterwards because he used to be a good, unpossessed father, all that jazz
Aesthetic-wise it's your dude Anankos: a name like the "Silent Dragon," super creepy stone mask phase as well as awesome dragon design among the stars phase, just visually this guy has got it all.

(Feel free to post this publically)
The “Nohrian and Hoshidan skies reverse” was a localization fuck-up:
Gunter (EN): When the dawn turns... Hmm... Oh, I get it. Once every few decades, the skies above Nohr and Hoshido will reverse. If I remember right, that should happen a few months from now.
Gunter (JP): Dark becoming light… Light becoming dark… I’ve heard of that. It only happens once in several decades, but there’s a phenomena where Nohr’s sky switches colors with Hoshido’s and vice versa. It won’t happen for another several months though.
Sure, the latter doesn't absolutely confirm that switching colors is the only thing that'll happen to the skies, but it'd be ratty as fuck to try and just blindly assume, with no evidence, that two countries' skies magically switching colors with each other for a few days would lead to any sort of changes to the fauna and flora of Hoshido and Nohr when Gunter would have absolutely brought up the color-switcharoo also affecting the weather if that was the case; i don't blame anyone for assuming that to be the case in EN tho, especially when the explanation given is both vaguer and worded in such a way as to heavily imply that the skies are literally changing positions.
(Also, for what it's worth, the color-switching explanation is consistent among Fateswartable, the English Patch, and the raw kanji after being google-translated, leading a decent amount of credence to that being accurate)
Interesting find, thanks for letting me know! I wonder why they removed the mention of it happening every few decades.
I'm on the fence cuz while this does give better context as to why no one seemingly gives a shit in the other routes, I still find it a bit... out of place, in a way.
Nonetheless, there is more of a line up given what we know of what happens in BR and CQ as well that I missed. Corrin, Azura and Gunter exit Valla through the Bottomless Canyon during CQ in Chapter 15, and BR chapter 15, Corrin and Ryoma see the sun rising while in Nohr even though it's not supposed to happen. So that's something.
