lex watches her face move as she looks over the penthouse; the place is thin, unpacked boxes pushed into corners gathering dust because he's barely been in the months and months he's owned this place. it's a stop gap. a place to sleep when he's in town and a place to think when absolutely necessary. there are remnants of personal assistants' efforts to tidy up the main living area and a dressing rack full of suits abandoned to one side. a fully stocked drinks sidetable, of course.

lex pours them a couple fingers of whiskey and hands it over.

hats off to the uptight bitch, she's got a real poker face -- if there's anything here which might cause upset or confusion, one would hardly notice. it's boiled down to a glitch in the matrix: her eyes dart back to the same spot once, twice, three times. it's subtle but it's there and lex knows what she knows the second it happens.

(it's the bedsheets which give it away. strewn over the hard marble floor under a canopy of wild papers, scribbled over and tacked to a wall, vicious red and blue streaks across it where the formulas are all wrong wrong wrong, design flaws circled and crossed out and redrawn hastily. it's a madman's wall. a craetive genius. a real thinkers paradise!)

"is your jaunt on the other side of the palisades living up to your expectations?" he asks, slipping a leg over the other, picking imaginary lint off his knee. she looks as if she might be gearing up to ask something but settles instead on i can keep a secret, if that's what you're asking.

lex grins. "i don't doubt you can, camille. but i don't need a safeguard. i need a master of spin."

This time I needed to up my CSS animation a bit. So I decided to have a couple. I made this portrait inspired by this dribble. And then I did a couple of animation, and to be really honest,  the side blinking had an iffy jump and I was complaining to my sister about it and then she mentioned that there’s this symptom named “NYSTAGMUS” that had that effect so I checked and made that the option :p

So this was fun. I hope to be better in the future and actually do some motion graphics.  <A girl can dream/>

The kaleidoscope of creatives

It’s always a challenge to define the business model of the future. What will come next might be predictable within a certain amount of degrees, looking back to previous trends and then creating the forecast. That���s how we study the weather and tell how hot or cold tomorrow will be.

However, one thing for sure is how we can structure such model and create successful systems. We can start by rationalizing (and admitting) that in the workforce across all levels, we have creative and conservative individuals that are very good in their field, and are best when placed within their own environment because that’s the climate they will come out with great ideas or make important decisions.

If you are afraid of change you run the high and probable risk of remaining behind in innovation with all the consequences that come. You will face situations that have the power to take your business away or to come so close that it will weaken the knees out of you.

Innovation is the driving force of those business practices that understand the need to adapt, to develop new tools for the present and future, but most importantly to acknowledge the current situation that something might be wrong and needs to be fixed.

Look back at the first years of the 21st century and the expectation people had at the end of 1999: nobody had a clue what the year 2000 would come with. Many were deep worried about Y2K and computer malfunctions coming with the end of the world. It was rubbish from the beginning and worked to pull marketing products like antivirus, useless software, and to sell extra survival equipment.

Yet there was a small group of three people in California who was working night and day to revolve the new millennium. Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim built and published Youtube over the hard labor of their creative mindset. They maximized their credit cards in the process to pay for hardware and hosting services, they risked everything believing their hands held the future. They were right and shaped the way we interact and acquire new knowledge via a streaming platform which is now our favorite medium.

What drove their product to success was a creative process that disrupted the status quo of the late 20th century business model. It wasn’t trading or speculative hedge fund that started Youtube; it was the desire of creating something from nothing and developing in something that today means everything: content through data sharing on many platforms.

How much do creative people matter in a business system? Everything. They have the mindset of imagination to start processes from little or nothing, growing and expanding a simple idea into a change in the world: Steve Jobs, Shawn Fanning, J. K. Rowling, are just some of the names that comes off the top of my head. They brought pure and simple innovation across many fields changing the way we go through our daily routine.

Spot the creative individual...

Here we can see the developing pattern of entrepreneurship that has creative people starting business because they can envision leaps ahead. They understand the complexity of the idea and how it will evolve in the medium-long term, including important details that can be accessorized and later become the continuation of the vision. And those who did not bet on creative people found out the hard way too late at a greater cost.

On the other hand the behavior of conservative people fits best the classic system of running the business, because their focus glides through a mindset of analytical decisions and efficiency. That’s why those who are under this profile seek their career development in Wall Street or similar work environments, where precise blocks move in a specific pattern to build the outcome.

IBM understood the need of change and above all the thirst for innovation, so they have been hiring designers to sharpen up their tools instead of stacking up with accountants or software engineers. IBM needed creativity to rise above the status quo in their field. They understood that innovation doesn’t come from individuals who have been sharing the same manger with those who create algorithms or win math competitions, but it comes from those who see well beyond the curb not with binoculars but wit a set of kaleidoscopes.

Creative direction. The ultimate ability to control aspects of work such as concepts, production design, costumes.

Everything, not just music. creative direction was something that kris was doing already at Wu Corp. of course, it was nowhere near as glamorous as being an idol creative director but he was working as the assistant vice president of marketing at his dad’s company. he was already getting ready to launch the new security software and applications that came with it, so creative direction seemed like a no brainer.

when the evaluations were announced, with the new year new you theme, which opened up all the potential of achievements that he didn’t have the skills for, kris decided that the most logical decision in this case would be to go for creative direction since it would be a useful accomplishment for both his regular work life and his idol career.

he began thinking how could he work on creative direction. he met with one of the trainers at kt and told them about his decision to do creative direction. it counted as a possible achievement and kris was eager to learn how to present it. would he be expected to come up with some sort of concept or something? or would he be expected to already know something and speak about that? the first step, kris decided, is figuring out where the idea of creative direction start and what did it encompass.

kris began researching. he began reading everything he could. he had to know the story of the whole idea because then he could contribute to a concept or future plans. he figured that doing creative direction would help him with the launch that hes supposed to work on. he had ideas but he needed to figure out how to work on the whole articulating those ideas. craetive direction as an achievement would help in that and kris would go for it as far as he could.

Graffiti

I went to London to visit a legal graffiti place. I planned on using my stencil but before that I took some pictures of the other artists art to inspire me for my project. 

There is three themes I noticed the most with the graffiti which was writing, cartoonish style and realistic style this gave the place more variation of the kind of art you could find it was like a museum with the different types of art everywhere.

The last picture is of signature or a word there design for this is the words are smaller and more straight at the top but get bigger and more curved at the bottom giving it a different prespective as well as making it more unique then most fonts.

The 7th one down is using a simmilar angel as the last picture but giving it a more 3d from the front. They have also added there own character in it making it more memorable then other similar writing graffiti.

The third one down is the least professional one but shows that anyone can spray paint this puts the point of view that the amount of people and there different art styles is a lot. 

The 9th one down looks like it was done. with a huge realistic stencil or it took a lot of time getting it right. Its the most realistic which makes it stand out for that reason but due to this it can be less memorable then more craetive cartoonish characters like the 7th post down that gives the character its own expressions and it feels like it lives there more while the 9th one looks more like a still picture.
