It's Cold to Go Alone! Take This...

Its actually not that cold though. Am I the only one who would get the urge to make a blanket when it just reached high in the 70's the other day? Probably; but who cares, its a Legend of Zelda themed blanket! It is in its early stages so there isn't much going on to suggest Legend of Zelda, except for maybe the color theme. For this blanket I'm using the same yarn (Red Heart Super Saver Yarn Saffron and Medium Thyme) as I did for the Loki Granny Square blanket I made for my friend, but this time i'm not doing granny squares. I'm making it out of granny rectangles! I'm most excited for this blanket not just because of the theme but for the rectangles as well! I do not ever recall my Granny ever making granny rectangles, just granny squares. I'm not sure how she would feel about these but I'm loving them so far! Here is a link to the granny rectangle I used.

I'm still trying to figure out how to do some of the decorative pieces that I have planned like the hearts, bombs, sword, shield etc. I might look and see if I can find any patterns I like online and go from there. I'm horrible when it comes to designing my own patterns, I know the title says Creative By Design, but I'll get it...eventually.

I'll keep updating this post as I make progress on this project. For now I'm going to leave off here and when I get a chance I'll take some better pictures too. Happy yarning everyone!

05/28/19 Since I last wrote, things got crazy. I live and work in a summer resort town so work has picked up since then and I'm exhausted, plus things have been kind of hectic in my personal life.

I'm nearly out of Red Heart Super Saver Saffron yarn so now I have to wait to order it since my local yarn shops, craft store, and Walmart are out or do not carry it. I'm good for the time being on the Medium Thyme but since I'm making the rectangles in the saffron there is nothing much I can do with the thyme right now.

This is pretty much the length that I'm looking for and it'll be nice and wide to snuggle with a puppy or two while reading a good book or watching an awesome movie!

I know the edges look uneven, they should even out once I start the border. I'm still looking for LOZ patterns to make up the bulk of the blanket right now, I figured I'd get most of the bordering rectangles done first though.

The back doesn't look as nice but I still like it! :) I'll keep updating when I get more of it completed. For now I'm signing off! Happy yarning people! <3

I LOVE the look of knit beanies; so full of texture and SO pretty! I’ve finally decided to teach myself how to knit! Ive had a set of circular knitting needles for some time now but never gave it a go, as it always looked kind of intimidating, well not anymore! Hello and this is the official Tumblr for the CraftySassy DeviantArt page. I will list all of my social media platforms shortly. 

Meanwhile, I think I’ll be copy and pasting some stuff over from the DeviantArt journal into here and do weekly reviews of my stuff. I could post exclusive content on here as well. I don’t know exactly how I will be doing this. I post WIPs on my Snapchat, Instagram, and Facebook pages so it cannot be WIPs. Once every thing is decided, that’s the direction we will be going for Tumblr. Any and all ideas are welcomed here.

I guess I could also explain my thought process through my photos and WIPs. Just pick which one of my finished products and explained some of what I did. I could just pick and choose which ones were my favorite to make... I got too many ideas for what I want to do!
