Budgie?

Ok lobster, but only for F&J...

The scientific name for Budgerigar, Melopsittacus undulatus. Melopsittacus is Greek for ‘melodious parrot’ and undulatus is Latin for ‘undulated’, referring to their scalloped wing patterns.

Budgies have very fast heart rates with over 300 beats per minute.

A budgie can perceive up to 150 images per second. This is why they have problems with normal household lamps. For them, the lamps are permanently flickering. In fact, this hasn't anything to do with the lamps, but with the electricity from the socket.

When I was young, I had two pet budgerigars; one green and one yellow. We sent them away to a family friend before an overseas trip, and I never saw them again after that.

it’s hard to tame two birds at once, especially if you got them both at the same time, but chipi has been super curious of me.

sometimes she will go up to the cage to my face when i make kissing sounds. and she’ll imitate and constantly imitate if i’m not paying attention to her.

she has nibbled my nose before, but sometimes she bit it. whether she wants to rips my lips off next or not, i appreciate the closeness with her. she’s comfortable enough to step up on my finger and comfortable enough to shell when i’m near.

Mrs Wobbly (AKA Mama Tran) offering some respite and tenderness to Mister Wobbles 🦜❤️🥹 #love #compassion . . . I decided to buy this little old fella (a little while ago) from a local pet shop. He looked poorly; sitting in isolation in a sad looking cage; empty with no toys to stimulate or engage or occupy him. Despite looking frail and worn, the staff kept trying to reassure me that he was young and well and approx only one year of age. They really wanted to get rid of him. They didn’t realise that I have experience with #Budgerigars I knew I was looking at a very unwell little guy … I couldn’t leave him there though, so I bought him and took him home. He is now part of a family who loves and adores him so much. . . . In this picture, I captured a tender moment where my elderly mum is holding Mister Wobbles gently and talking to him with such love ❤️ he is frail and wobbles on his feet, however, he feels more secure when being cupped or held. Such a beautiful little man. . .
