I already knew I had no interest in Palworld when they showed the guns and slavery of the Pals in the first trailer but hearing that not only has the company dabbled in NFTs and AI but there's also HUMAN slavery AND the farms are called plantations has just totally turned me off. why did the devs think that was even slightly appropriate in this fucking day and age?

like I DO think we need an open world survival Pokemon-esq game, we really do. but not Palworld. hopefully Kindred Fates will fill that void properly, in a responsible, not overly and poorly thought out edgy way.

it is fun reading historical fiction about stuff you know next to nothing about because you’ll want to travel back in time to kill someone who died almost a thousand years ago and then the author’s note at the end will just like “sorry this guy actually turned out to be one of the most beloved rulers in the byzantine empire, i just thought it was funny to make him an annoying little freak because the main character / author of the primary source basically never mentioned him in her text unless it was absolutely necessary while she made detailed portraits of the rest of her family”

a conversation in the caverns between wenduag and alaunius[my commander] a missing conversation that would have happened if alaun was 5% less lawful good and voiced to wenduag exactly why they were short with cameillas father. still not 100% on the stoic-ness level of alaun so this is semi cannon. also i finished the maze but that was a few hours ago, this is more script than fully fleshed out prose and ive only played 4.5 hours so eh on characterization.
