there was this rush of determination in him when you called him that and now he’s certain if he wanted to get a person’s attention, it’s definitely going to be yours

kags started practicing pick up lines and winking in his bathroom mirror whenever he takes a shower

hoping it would be cool enough to impress you

but since you already told him how it was kinda stupid that he’s being treated like an idol or some god, he knew he had to try harder than this

this time you see him completely awake and sitting still in his seat as you placed your bag onto the side of the table

“well this is new” you gasp in fake amazement seeing kageyama was going to pay attention in class

“yeah cause i wanted to impress you” kageyama says ever so casually

“being attentive in class doesn’t impress me, try harder” you rolled your eyes at his attempt but secretly your heart was beating faster

“yeah i know but i think i have a few tricks up my sleeve that will get you to fall for me in no time” he winks

“is that a challenge?” you raised a brow at your seatmate

How to Download Marvel comics for free!

I’ve been thinking about writing this for a while especially since we’re all stick inside but last week Marvel made the shitty decision to transition various print titles to digital only, meaning they’re directly taking revenue away from local shops rather than delay the titles, so since Marvel thinks digital comics is such a cool idea I’m gonna show you how to download as many as you’d like! (oh also this is for windows only, idk how to do it if you own a mac but also you’re rich anyways so who cares buy the comics richie)

I don’t want to take money away from the people that need it, not the actual companies of Marvel and DC fuck them they’re dying and they deserve it, but for my own rationalizing I want to take a minute to plug the Hero Initiative, basically what it is an organization that provides for comic creators that are having hard times, comics are a rough industry and you don’t get into it to get rich, I won’t go into it too much you can read for yourself but it’s been endorsed by Stan Lee, Justin Ponsor, Mike Grell, Skottie Young, Rags Morales, a lot of big names, so I’d ask if you do follow this guide and download some comics for free please consider donating to the Hero Initiative (they also sell autographed prints and you can commission some really famous artists)

anyways onto the good stuff! I’m going to be doing a fairly brief but easy to follow guide, there will be links at the bottom of the post so look for those, I’ll probably be making a few other posts with some more info so also check back for those if my blog is still here

What do I need?

You’re going to need 4 basic things if you want to do this as easily and safely as you can 

1) a good anti-virus

2) anonymous web browser (Tor)

4) a safe and reliable source for the comics

4) a torrent program to download the comics

Also optional: VPN

Anti-Virus 

it’s good to remember when torrenting that no one is your friend, everyone is out to trick you and no one cares, honestly you should also have a good anti-virus though, I’m not really gonna tell you which one you should have but Norton 360 is pretty good but say that in a room of CS majors is the quickest way to start a fist fight, honestly just google it, you’re gonna have to do some research, but really you’re good as long as you don’t go with Avast or Kaspersky, I’m going to go over typical tricks and traps later to ensure safety, this is just basic overall security thing

Anonymous Web Browser (Tor)

next we’re gonna download Tor (you can do this before getting a VPN, like I said either one is going to put you on a list but using one to cover you getting the other at least mitigates it lol) Tor is a great open source project that allows for basically complete anonymous web browsing, it’s a project dedicated to privacy and disruption of corporations ability to control every aspect of our lives, also a friend of mine bought K off silk road with it once in highschool, really not too much you need to know about it before using it, just download it, let it configure and you’re good, also use Duck Duck go that it comes with, don’t switch it to chrome or anything, Duck Duck go is anonymous search service which better lends to Tor’s protection

Where to get the torrents

Now this is really important because you can have everything else set up but without a safe reliable source none of this is gonna do any good, but this is the dangerous part, torrent sites are notorious traps (I bricked more than on family PC on limewire) and this is why I said earlier to remember these people are not your friends and are out to hurt you, don’t click banner ads, don’t believe pop ups, make sure your virus protection is on and it’s a very good idea to have an adblocker on, also look out for another post I’ll be making on what download buttons to trust for different popular torrent sites

when talking comics (and remember specifically only Marvel comics) there’s no other name out there than Nemesis43, he is a god and he’s going to be your new best friend, there are groups and sites out there that do comic scans that you have to pay to join or like apply to join, that shit’s dumb as hell and I’ve never used them once and I’ve got more comic than I can read in my lifetime, you don’t need em and you especially don’t need to give them money, donate to the Hero Initiative instead

Nemesis has moved around a bit in the past (if you remember the WWT debacle) right now the main site for him is ettv (there will be a link at the end of the post) sites a bit barren but he’s there, he also has a reddit he gives updates on very rarely, generally if he moves he adds where his new home is in a text doc in his recent uploads, I fully trust him and his uploads, he’s been doing this for years and I’d never have a second thought downloading from him, also because he uploads so much he’s often very highly rated and verified on whatever site he’s on

The second place I’d recommend is getcomic (again there will be a link at the end), now this is very important, never donate to them, they kinda suck, basically they’re plugged into a bunch of different scanner groups and just steal those scans and put them up and then ask for donations, basically they’re just an aggregate (Nem kinda is too but he doesn’t ask for donations and stuff), they usually use browser downloads which are a complete pain so I’d really recommend Nemesis over them but they do have TheComicGuy on torrent galaxy for larger files but that updates a lot less frequently then the main site, again I trust these guys (as long as you’re on the actual site) but don’t trust any banner ads or pop ups, also for downloading they give multiple options, a lot are very sketchy, just use the main server

also there’s other sites like readcomics or newcomics, never used em, don’t like em, use at your own behest 

On sites like ettv you’re gonna want to use the magnet, someone years ago told me it was safer and I just believed them and have always used em, not sure if it’s true but it’s worked so whatever, really you shouldn’t be too worried about this stuff and if you follow this guide you’re going to be way over prepared to download comics, really no one cares about comic torrenting, movies, video games, tv shows that’s the stuff people really get caught on, this is just nerd shit

Torrent program

This is pretty basic, just get utorrent, it’s what I’ve always used, it works, whatever, definitely look this up with a VPN on or on Tor, it’s simple to use, I’ll be doing a short tutorial on how to make it even safer

Lastly this one is optional but a pretty good idea, for more than just this

VPN aka Virtual Privacy Network

honestly you can get the anonymous web browser (Tor) or the VPN first, their both going to help cover you downloading the other and honestly both are going to put you on a list for googling them (which is why I suggest looking for someone who just already has the .exes ((I always keep them on a thumbdrive for when I have to reset one of my computers)), I might try to make a google drive with em but also I might not bc that sounds like work and I’m already typing all this up), anyways I’m not really gonna explain what a VPN is, there’s a lot of resources that can explain it better than I can but basically it masks what you do on the internet, there’s a lot of choices when picking a VPN but the big thing I looked for when choosing mine was 1) non-US based so it’s harder for US investigation agencies to request stuff for them or get anything from them 2) one that doesn’t keep logs, honestly they all do even if they say they don’t, but you wanna look for one that hasn’t turned over many logs to US agencies and 3) unlimited peer 2 peer connections which is complicated but basically means you can torrent stuff anonymously and with decent speed. Like Anti-Virus there are a ton of different VPN’s out there, you really have to do research because there are actual accounts of FBI agencies crating VPN’s telling people they’re anonymous when really they had direct access to all the info, I haven’t done any research but NordVPN seems kinda like one of these, really the more they advertise the more suspicious I am, Just google “best vpn 2020″ and look at like 5 lists and read the the stuff, personally I use IPvanish which unfortunately is US based and while it gave over logs in 2016 even thought they said they didn’t keep any but now they’re owned by a new company that super double promises they don’t (again who cares they all do) but they’ve allow P2P and use 256-bit AES encryption

I wanna take a second to mention that this isn’t going to be free, this is the only place you’re going to be spending money (besides donating to Heroe Initative of course), a good VPN is about $100 a year which all in all isn’t terrible, technically you can just get by on the anonymous browser but this gives you an extra layer of security to pretty much ensure you won’t get caught and plus in the ever worsening internet hell world a VPN is becoming more and more important, I’m sure you can find articles about it but yea you don’t technically need a VPN but it’s useful for more than just this

How to work it all

Ok so this is gonna be a little stream of consciousness, as this all kinda has been, so sorry but I’m gonna try and explain it as best I can and also feel free to ask any questions on this blog, I’ll check back eventually I’m sure

So first thing first, make sure you’re virus protection is on and you’re connected on your VPN if you’re using it (you can google “what is my IP” to double check it’s working) then load up Tor, let it load and connect up and whatever, then go to https://www.ettvdl.com/user/Nemesis43 (I’m just gonna show this with Nemesis43, maybe I’ll make another one for getcomics but that’s pretty straight forward, also nem is better)

now remember we’re only here for Marvel comics, so scroll past all those thousands of other comics this would work exactly the same for, I’m gonna go for Ant-Man #4 which was released on the 13 as a digital only comic despite the first three issues being physical copies and now sit on my shelf forever unfinished making me look like a complete penis

it may take a while but it’s going to look like this, click on the blue words, it’s gonna take you to a page that looks like this

now from here we’re going to get the magnet link, right click and select copy link address, I like doing this because it limits my interactions with the page, note the advertisement at the top telling me I need a VPN despite thinking I’m in Guadalajara (which for legal reasons I am)

just copy that and then go to utorrent and click the add link

it’ll open a little box, it should add the link automatically, if it doesn’t just hit ctrl+V

hit ok and it’ll load it up, it might need to download some metadata but after that it should be good, oh also it might bring up a window basically asking where you want to save it and what to name it, you can set all that up in preferences, I did so I just turned that window off and can’t be assed to turn it back on, just hit ok if you don’t wanna bother with that stuff, it’ll go into your downloads by default

and that’s it really, it’s that easy, I might make another thing talking about how to make utorrent more anonymous or whatever so look for that, but stock it’s fine, also when it’s finished downloading it’s gonna start seeding (like uploading to someone else) I’ve always been a scumbag and I never seed but Nemesis seeds stuff so much you really don’t need to anyways, just select it and hit the stop button (the black square on the tool bar)

The book I am currently reading The Invention of Jane Harrison by Mary Beard. I’m fascinated by Hope Mirrlees, and her relationship with Jane Harrison was one of the ingredients of her life. They collaborated on a book of translated Russian tales, and Harrison’s theories seem integral both to Paris, Mirrlees’s modernist poem and to Lud-in-the-Mist. I’m loving watching Mary Beard deconstruct and re-examine ideas about what biography is in this short but brilliant book. Also Pandora’s Jar: Women in the Greek Myths by Natalie Haynes. I’m reading it slowly and with delight, an essay at a time, rejoicing in the easy erudition and the way she upends what I thought I knew and gives me something much more interesting in its place.

The book that changed my life The Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe. It’s brilliant, much more brilliant than I knew when I read it for the first time. I would not be the writer I am without Wolfe’s friendship, or without taking his lesson that you should write to be reread with increased pleasure by a smart reader.

The book I wish I’d written Lud-in-the-Mist by Hope Mirrlees. It’s the great English fantasy novel, about the prosaic land next to the wilderness of Faerie. It’s a history and a murder mystery, and it’s about family and dissatisfaction, and about fairy fruit, which, as with all good fantasy, stands both for itself and for poetry, and sexuality, and the things that leave us changed forever.

The last book that made me laugh Round the Horne Scripts by Marty Feldman and Barry Took. Où sont les neiges d’antan, Mr Horne? That’s your actual philosophical French.

The book that influenced my writing The Voyage of the Dawn Treader by CS Lewis. I read it when I was six, and fell in love with Narnia and with the magical story and most of all with the auctorial voice. Lewis seemed to be having a wonderful time writing, confiding in and treating the readers as if they were smart friends. It was the first time I was ever aware that there was a person behind the words. It made me want to write. It made me want to do that magic trick.

The last book that made me cry Reading Diana Wynne Jones’s Dogsbody to my daughter Maddy, some 15 years ago. I got to the book’s end and we both had very wet faces.

The book I couldn’t finish Titania Has a Mother by Caryl Brahms and SJ Simon. I love much of their work, so was thrilled recently to find a book of theirs I didn’t know about. And a fairytale book at that. Let’s just say it was of its time and hadn’t aged well.

The book I’m ashamed not to have read Laurence Sterne’s Tristram Shandy. I’ve read extracts from it and loved them. It’s a novel I approve of and keep meaning to read. I just haven’t read it.

The book I give as a gift A Humument by Tom Phillips. A Victorian novel, with pages painted over and into, messages and thoughts revealed and illuminated. It was always the book I gave people, hoping that even a few of them would read it and delight in it as I do.

The book I’d most like to be remembered for You don’t get to choose. Probably, you don’t get to be remembered, either. But most of my favourite authors are now unfashionable and forgotten, and I’d be happy to join their company, if every now and again someone found one of my books in a dusty pile and took comfort in it.

My earliest reading memory A book about a little mermaid looking for other mermaids, and the inside front cover art from a Noddy book.

My comfort read Roger Zelazny’s Lord of Light feels like a place I can go where the people know me and will have to take me in, in a novel of people become gods.

#834 Weekend turned out to be shocker for Table toppers in IPL 2020; CSK find their SPARK in youngster Rituraj Gaikwad as they outclass RCB to win by 8 wickets; Stokes-Samson’s stunning counter attack overshadowed Hardik Pandya’s magical 21 ball 60 which helped RR stun MI in a high scoring game; Liverpool comeback to beat Sheffield United and more..:-)

RCB had great chance to move to top of points table if they beat CSK. Things started well when RCB won the toss. Finch and Padikkal got another good start before Finch threw it away again. Sam Curran dismissed him for 15. RCB 31-1. Padikkal was dismissed soon after by Santner. ABD and Virat consolidated post that. They rotated strike well. CSK spinners didn’t give any hit me balls. Virat and ABD wanted to wait till slog overs for going full on. They reached 100 only in 15th over. ABD was dismissed in 18th over. That hurt RCB. Though Virat tried hard with his 50, RCB just managed 145-6. They just hit 20 runs of last 3 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Chahar and Sam Curran bowled well too. Virat and ABD showed have taken more risks against spinners. They looked 15-20 short though wicket was a tough one to bat on. It was a new ball wicket where its easier to bat when ball is new. RCB started well when Sundar just gave 1 run of first over. Rituraj had just managed 4 runs from 3 IPL matches. Pacers had troubled him. Virat missed a trick by not giving Morris the new ball. He and Faf went all attack from 2nd over. From 2nd over till 16th over, there was not one overe where less than 5 runs was scored. Faf was dismissed for 25 by Morris. CSK 46-1. Rayadu ensured there would be just 1 winner in the match. Hero for CSK was surely Rituraj Gaikwad. His 51 ball 65 gave CSK 4th win in this IPL. CSK should have encouraged youngsters earlier on. They bring a different vibe. By giving extended run to Jadhav and Bravo hurt CSK’s chances. CS won the match easily by 8 wickets with 8 balls to spare. Nothing went right for RCB today. This loss could be the difference between RCB reaching playoff and possible top 2 position.

MI faced RR in 2nd match. Quinton was castled by Archer early on in first over. MI 7-1. Ishan and Surya just took the attack to RR as runs came thick and fast. At half way stage. MI were placed at 89-1. Karthik gave RR some breather as he dismissed Ishan for 37. In 13th over, Shreyas Gopal gave RR real hope to comeback into the match when he dismissed Surya and Polland in one over. MI 101-4. MI went a bit slow for next 3 overs.  MI 121-4 in 16 overs. Tiwary hit Archer for 2 fours and a six to give MI some momentum. Hardik then smashed Rajpoot for 27 runs to give MI real push to a winning target. MI 165-4 in 18 overs. Hardik hit Tyagi for 27 runs of final over to take MI to 195-5. They scored 57 runs in last 3 overs and 79 in last 5. MI’s engine middle order of Hardik, Pollard and Krunal rarely fail together. If one fails, another works. In this IPL, there has not been one match where all 3 have failed. That’s why they are the team to beat. Training mit MASKE und HANDSCHUHEN 2020

im heutigen video wollen herausfinden

wie es ist mit maske und handschuhe zu

trainieren die neuen voraussetzungen in

einigen fitnessstudios ich würde sagen

ich ziehe mich erst mal um

let's go ich bin ja gerade hier in

bayern das heißt bei uns haben die

fitness von nicht geöffnet heißt ich

darf noch in cannes im fitnessstudio

trainieren deswegen habe hier im keller

den habe ich schon sieben jahren zuvor

vorbereitet für die perfekte situation

für jetzt also macht sie an und los

geht's wir starten mit dem brust workout

die maske auf packen paar gewichte drauf

und dann würde ich sagen test mir das

mal aber ich muss ehrlich sagen mit

maske ich weiß nicht wie es euch geht

aber ich finde es ziemlich unangenehm

gestoppt mit der ersten übungen und zwar

bankdrücken ich glaube ich kurz auf und

dann können wir die vollen gehen

ich will keine luft mehr also das macht

keinen spaß muss ich sagen eine maske

hat kriegt man sofort atemnot

was denkt ihr wie viele kilos sind dass

ich habe mir die damals bei ebay

kleinanzeigen gekauft und zwar hat der

typ die gewichte selber gemacht ich muss

mal auf 12 kilo ging es mir richtig

und ich sage euch es krasse ist er

normalerweise kriegst du alt bist du aus

und kriegst frischen sauerstoff wieder

das funktioniert ähnlich man hat mit

seinem sauerstoff wieder ein und es

führt einen total zum gatter machen also

ich muss sagen zum training schwer das

training und führte der sturm mit masten

pflicht ich habe jetzt mal ein paar

kleine gewichte das sind 7,5 schaut

lächerlich aus aber wir sind es hier bei

90 kilo

die habe ich schon ewig nicht mal

geprüft ich habe die letzten 12 wochen

habe ich nur heimtraining gemacht ein

einziges mal bei jugend trainiert mit

gewichten und sonst habe ich alles

mitgemacht das heißt 90 kilo ist für

mich gerade richtig viel eis

da

also ich muss sagen der unterschied zum

fitnessstudio ist natürlich dass ich

somit billiger bank habe und ich habe

schon ein bisschen das gefühl dass ich

mit dieser bank zusammenbreche

das ist der große unterschied zwischen

hier und finden studio aber sonst das

heimtraining man gewöhnt sich dran muss

ich sagen es gar nicht so schlecht

übrigens nicht vergessen wer mehr tipps

studio bin einfach auf instagram gehen

sagen diese krise hat mir geholfen dass

ich anders denke dass ich anders handeln

werde und muss und ich finde es einfach

gut trainiert zu hause

ich weiß nicht was ich machen werde wenn

die fitnessstudios öffnen aber ich habe

gemerkt dass ich dinge ändern und es ist

wichtig dass wir manchmal dinge

hinterfragen in unserem eigenen leben

und nicht zu sehr in der politik weil

sonst macht uns das irgendwann komplett

verrückt aber in unserem eigenen leben

können wir viel ändern ich möchte dich

dazu ermutigen dass du anfängst im

fitnessstudio vielleicht wenn es nicht

geht oder wenn sich aufmacht und schiss

hast dass du nicht aufhörst mit dem

training schon dass du bei dir zu hause

start ist egal was andere sagen was

andere denken du machst renting und

darum soll es gehen

ich glaube das problem dass sie häufig

haben ist dass wir uns in ausreden

schulen ja es gibt immer situationen wo

es für uns schwierig ist ich habe jetzt

auch wieder angefangen bis hin zum

challenge und ich bin normalerweise

einer der spät aufsteht bevor ich kinder

hatte war so halb 10 10 dann

als ich gerade bin ich um halb acht auf

gestand uns war immer stress und jetzt

in dieser zeit wo ich eigentlich viel

mehr zu tun habe habe ich gesagt möchte

ich mich trotzdem challenge mal richtig

um 6 auf ausbildung 25 auf schon letzten

paar tage und ich merke es tut einfach

gut

ich glaube wir brauchen manchmal einfach

diesen diesen schritt außer unserer

comfort zone wo es unangenehm ist aber

genau da können wir was neues erleben

also lass dir nicht zu sehr von deinen

gefühlen lenken wo du merkst 8 führt sie

über viel besser an wenn ich jetzt

vielleicht ein bisschen rum sitzt oder

wenn ich jetzt nichts machen ich glaub

auch wenn sie vielleicht eher zur couch

zieht zudem chips zieht und auch wenn

vielleicht die couch und der kühlschrank

immer näher zusammen kommen finde ich

haben wir genau jetzt die möglichkeit zu

zeigen aus welchem fleisch wir sind ich

habe jetzt zwölf wochen lang 17 30 live

workouts gemacht im festival leute nach

zehn zwölf wochen einfach so fit waren

sie sowohl unser glück nicht gefühlt

haben und sport ist nicht das wichtigste

aber ist ein wichtiges werkzeug um da

weiterzukommen

also für mich ist das nicht praktikabel

mit dieser maske du atmest in eine co2

ein

vor einer schweren gewichten möglichst

ohne heftigen und wenn man die komplett

an haben soll

das ist die logik ist jetzt überlegt

haben denselben trick no pants der stadt

bei der dritten übung und zwar bald frei

hier schöne gewichte

positionieren konzentration füße fest am

boden

und jetzt in der krise finanzielle

probleme hat ist einsamkeit oder andere

dinge die mich vielleicht gerade

aufregend cs als chance sehe es als

möglichkeit dass du mehr rausholen

kannst dass du jetzt aufstehst dass du

sagst am ende des videos möchte ich

etwas machen

ich weiß es ist alles schwierig und

jeder versuch von uns versucht lösungen

zu finden

aber fangen in dem bereich an wo du

wirklich aktiv etwas ändern kannst in

deinem eigenen leben fang an mit sport

fang mit zehn liegestützen an mit zehn

berkeley ist jeden tag macht etwas

bringt etwas voran und du wirst sehen

ist am ende der zeit eine riesengroße

eine ganz grosse möglichkeit weil ich

bei null anfangen konnte

das aktuell als chance sportlich gesehen

beziehungstechnisch wenn du gerade nicht

viele freunde um mich herum hast dann

schaue wie du eine einsamkeit

bestmöglich nutzt schau dass du aus

allen problemen eine lösung finden ist

und ich glaube dass du auf dieser krise

große rausgehen kannst das ist das was

ich mir wünsche für dich nutzt die

I want to do something fun…My favorites so far 2020

Ok, that last topic took something out of me.  I am not going to lie when I say that that the blog post was the fourth one I had written and the first one I am proud of since Corona broke out, landed in the United States, and showed herself out.

Now I am done.  I have said my piece for now about her. I am ready to have some fun writing topics.  I am ready for the doom and gloom to go away for a while.  I was reminded of that last week by my pastor.

I attend an online bible study via Facebook Live.  This is how I have been attended church worship services too, and except for a few times when my computer has not quite cooperated in either task or the two weeks I had to deal with my cat, Gizmo going through heat issues. Yes, Gizmo is a girl, my girly girl, and she was named after the Mogwai Gizmo from the movie, Gremlins, who is a boy.  Yes, you can feed her after midnight, although I do not suggest dealing with her during heat because she turns into a little Gremlin, LOL.  Anyway, she is my little gremlin,

Anyway, My pastor said of African Americans who have been killed in the last few months because of the continued hatred from certain types of white folks, that you can post all you want to about how much you hate what is happening from Trevon to Breanna, the RN who was killed because someone reported to police about some drug activity going on in her apartment, and she was sleeping after a grueling shift, and it was the wrong apartment.  If you do not act on how much you hate it, and make people aware of the problem in this country, then you are part of the problem.

What does that have to do with the coronavirus?  Same thing and the best thing to do at this point is to stay at home, wash your hands, and stay 6 feet apart.

What is today’s topic? 

I want to give all my writers and journal writers a task this week.  Yes, this week.  This will break you out of your mode of “normal” writing, and if this is not your thing, then try it once.  You may like it.

I normally write about lifestyle things on my other blog, Home Prep and those topics are on organization, decorating on a budget, and anything that is home-related.  Every once in awhile, you would see something about travel, and the reason was I had a travel portion on the blog.  I found after writing about my plans for a family Disney trip in December 2019 (see the previous post on THIS BLOG) about the problems leading to me canceling the trip.  I decided it would be best if I had a separate trip blog.

Anyway (count how many times I write, “anyway”), I want to write on this blog my favorite writing things or products of 2020 SO FAR. So in no particular order, I will have my list, and I will reference them with a link if I find the product on Amazon, Erin Condren, Walmart (which I do not get a commission on, but I love) or information I think you can use.  Again, you are not obligated to make a purchase.

Favorite item to use while writing:

These are routines, products, or tips that help me get into the mood of write.  Note:  Lately, I have not felt like writing much.  My mind had been scattered all over the place in terms of what topics to write.  Remember, I have chosen to write 3 blogs (soon to be 4), and it was not the number of blogs I write in, but how I write them.  So, the first thing I did was a little soul searching.  I turned to the very thing that got me started writing in the first place, which I mentioned that is was my friend, Lois, and writing in a personal journal.  In that journal, which is now an OneNote Notebook on my computer, it has allowed me to really think about what I am supposed to do.  It is the one thing that connects me to her, even though Lois died in 2002 to advanced breast cancer.  

Another thing is surprising, my pastor also journals.  He came to my congregation last year, and he has been a blessing.  He is younger than me, but I find him very relatable.  He is also an accomplished author, and has written a couple books and has a blog himself.  Personally, I felt that in the year since he has presided over the congregation (along with our “sister”, Westley United Methodist Church), my pastor has given me some insight on how a “woman of God”, “God’s child”, a Christian should govern over herself.

 Next, My favorite tea, which has to be decaf.  I do drink caffeinated coffee and tea, but I need something to calm me down, especially if I write at night.  I started writing at night because it was the only time that I did not have the noise of the day.  Up until February 25, 2020, my nephew and his girlfriend stayed here with me until they found an apartment.  Well, my great-niece came, and they are staying with my parents until they were able to save a little money for an apartment, which they had found, but corona reared up her head, and since he had been working double shifts at a shipping company (due to everyone online ordering and PPE stuff shipping in), they have not been able to move in.  since they have been gone, I still write at night, along with my tea, which is nothing more than Celeste Seasons fruit tea bags-assorted.  I used to drink Chamomile tea or CS Sleepytime tea, but I love these teas better.  I think it helps Gizmo calm down that I am not moving around so much.

What I use to write with?  That is simple, MS Word.  I will write down as much as I could, edit later.  Tip:  it helps to write it all down, then come back later to edit for clarity.  You may not have the same thoughts as you did when you first write it down.  This is why it takes me a long time for one blog post.  My blog post writing routine is:

·         Write for the thought process

·         Edit for clarity (this is where I add and take away)

·         Add bullet points, bold and italic and other ideas I want to emphasize.

·         Decide my font (which will go away once I start writing this blog in WordPress format)

·         Paste to Blogger (or WordPress when I start writing in that format)

·         Edit for Grammarly

·         Finally, add my title (which is already written in MS. Word), scheduled to publish, add Keywords/SEO, summarize, hook up my links, and add photos and capture points.

It sounds like a lot, but it really is not.  I did not mention the hard part (yes, there is), which is promotion.  I post a link to Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Favorite ways to write.

What is that?  I have several ways to write, and some I like because most of the time, it is for continuity, a flow, while others have to be for the style.

·         Narrative.  Most of the time, I will write in a narrative-style or first person.  I am given you an account of my day, a routine, or even a place that I have visited. 

·         Ghost-writing.  I am writing in the style of the author or blog writer.  Yes, it is my work, but I cannot put my name in the by-line.  The byline has to be the person who publishes it on their blog. I cannot offer my bio either.  It has to look like the blog poster wrote it themselves.

·         Guest-writing.  I offer to write a blog post or article for a magazine or blog to name a few, and my name goes in the by-line, as well as my bio at the end of the article.

·         Lists.  This is still fairly new to me, but I like it just the same as the other styles of writing.  For example, I can write, “20 reasons to visit Walt Disney World”, or “20 reasons not to visit Walt Disney World”.  The trick is to do your homework or research before attempting to create lists.  I usually research to see if what I have to say is the truth.

·         SEO/Keyword.  Okay, I will admit it, I like it and I hate it.  It all depends on the post.  I have done some ghost-writing that required me to mention “body-building” 5 times in six 1000-word articles back in 2011.  I found that the subject was very boring, and I had to stomach through all 6 articles that I needed to write by the end of the week.  Three weeks later, I had to write 8 articles mentioning the words, “organize” and “cabinets” 8 times in 500-word articles and I wanted to write more. So, it all depends.

·         Journaling.  Yeah, you knew this was going to come up soon or later.  I have mentioned how many times I have enjoyed the art of journaling, decorating journals, and now I can add planners to the mix.  You can now journal in your planners, and visa versa.  You know I am here for that.  This is the reason I have the horizontal version of the Erin Condren Life Planner. I am a detailed person, and the more detail I can get, the better.  In addition, I get to put what date I want in this planner.  In addition to the Life Planner, I love using the Duo-tip markers, stickers (even though I make my own as well- coming soon to my shop and website), and petite books, which are perfect for sermon notes, goal setting, and project planning.

Well, that is it for this round.  I will update later in the year with new things.  Oh, I love to write in loungewear, and the pants I love are from Target, which is the Women’s perfectly cozy wide-leg lounge pants by Stars Above™.  I use any top that is comfy to me.  Right now as I write, I have on a tank top.  In the wintertime, I have on my Laura Ashley fluffy robe that I bought for Christmas.  I now have to find one that is perfect for summer.

Finally, I love writing in the dark.  Let me explain….

At night, when it is nice and quiet, and it is past midnight, I may get into the mood of a nice fluffy robe, my sock, loungewear on, and I turn off the overhead light in my office and have on only the lamps illuminating my screen.  It gives me the sense of a warm blanket, and this is one way that I cocoon.  The other way of cocooning is having 3-4 blankets on my bed and turning off the heat in the wintertime or turning on the air conditioner in the summertime, and snuggle.  Another conversation for a different day.

Anyway, I also have a sense that I am in some sort of secret cave and it is just me and the computer, then Gizmo wants something and ruins the moment, LOL.  But between the time I settle in and Gizmo’s wanting, I can get a lot done with my writing.

Fact: Dealing with an almost 3-year-old cat (who is still a kitten) is like dealing with a human toddler, but I like human toddlers better, LOL.   I do not have to dress this one or listen to it say, “Mommy, mommy, mommy”.  Oh, wait, constant meowing is the same as “mommy, mommy, mommy”.  Never mind, LOL.

What if a convenience store was a place to waste time?

Amazon’s next grocery shop format looks… quite conventional? None of the “just walk out” checkoutless technology seen in Amazon’s Go stores, but there will be digital shelf labels, and an area for order pickup (by customers and delivery partners) and returns. So perhaps this grocery store experiment is about where logistics meets digital. 

You might think of retail changing along the dimensions of speed and visibility. Speed: Amazon makes things a bit slower (you have to wait a day or so). Convenience stores make things faster (the store is on your way home, and you’re in there for 5 minutes). Mobile phones make everything faster (immediate purchase) and slower (delivery the day after tomorrow). 

Visibility: high street retail presents goods in your eye line. Ecommerce hides everything from you except the advertising call to action, the digital shopfront and the delivery person. And Argos moves the inventory out the back so they can stock a wider range. 

Maybe shops could do both hidden and visible or both fast and slow at once: could you have a convenience store that also sold services, even if purchasing them took advice and time for consideration? Or could there be convenience shops that you wanted to waste some time in?

Supply chains and coronavirus

The COVID-19 coronavirus has two effects on retail. If the retailer has stores in China, you can assume they’re currently doing poorly. More importantly, if the retailer’s supply chain has production in China they’re also affected, or will be soon. And if you sell digital services, the effect is further delayed: bits aren’t made in China but the servers and circuit boards the bits need probably are.

Culture at scale and hiring digital teams

But How Monzo hire product designers doesn’t seem so good: asking applicants to “design an app for a buttonless oven” constrains the hiring pool to those who can easily afford to set aside the time to work on it. Perhaps the hiring challenge is a trick - maybe they’re hoping applicants will push back and say “Hmm, doesn’t sound safe or easy to use - show me the user research, and have we thought about how we’d deal with all of the unintended consequences, like how you turn it off quickly if your hands are all foody, or how you pair the oven and the app safely, or what happens when your phone runs out of battery after you switched the oven on, or how your care worker can use the oven when they pop round to help you, or...” (If a reader sends the newsletter Monzo’s “design brief” for the oven, maybe we’ll find out.)

Ctrl-V for Larry Tesler

If you have ever copied and pasted, you can thank Larry Tesler, the computer scientist who invented them at Xerox Parc. He has died, and your ctrl-cs and ctrl-vs pay him tribute. How much time has been saved with copying and pasting?

Tesler also gave us a great law about software design, the law of conservation of complexity, in which every application has “an inherent amount of complexity that cannot be removed or hidden. Instead, it must be dealt with, either in product development or in user interaction. This poses the question of who should be exposed to the complexity.” While the idea had its critics, it is a useful way of thinking about systems as well as software. Where in this business or service should the complexity be moved to, that the greatest benefit can result? Where are the unintended consequences likely to be hiding, and what can we do about them?

Co-op membership password checks

An interesting question on Twitter about Co-op’s security: no, Co-op hadn’t been hacked, and yes, Co-op is doing something clever: when you login or create an account, “we check whether the password you are using appears in any lists of "known" passwords”, and here is more technical detail about why that check is safe. (Beloved readers, you are encouraged to use a password manager to store unique passwords for each service, and protect important email addresses with a strong password!)

Greetings everyone. I trust everyone is having a good weekend. I got a few questions that a few people asked and I am now going to post the questions and answers here for my Interview #2.

1) What is your current occupation?

A substitute teacher though I am certified to teach Elementary education and Special Education in Delaware (Dually certified in Delaware) and Elementary Special Education (K-6) in Alabama. (Called Collaborative in Alabama)

2) Books published this year? Emma Stevens and the Lord of Crime.

3) What are you currently working on? Abbigail Wilson and the Masked Bandit (my kid's detective story), Verity Chronicles: the Jungle Master, the Witch Doctor and the Demon Lord (my YA Fantasy series), Emma Stevens and the MCO (2nd book in my adult crime series), refurbishing and editing the old crime stories (Files 1-20) that became the basis of my adult crime fiction series.

4) Which do you enjoy the best? I enjoy writing them all but the one that is the most lighthearted and can be enjoyed by the entire family is Abbigail Wilson and the Masked Bandit.

5) What inspired you to write? For my kids detective story one of my students I had taught in Alabama during internship became my inspiration for my kids detective story. Seeing the student struggle but not give up really inspired me to do the same. For my adult crime fiction it was seeing the risk that the men and women in uniform take everyday to protect our country. For my Fantasty I just loved fantasy and was inspired by other fantasy writers. My inspiration for each is different.

6) Goals for the rest of 2019-2020. To get my kids detective and my YA book published. Maybe even get Emma Stevens and the MCO released too.

7) Advice you would give to new incoming writers: Never give up. Writing is a long journey. It starts with a simple idea then it goes to writing into a program. Then obvisouly editing then querying and submitting which can be tough if rejected many times. But still never give up. Things that are worth it are never going to be easy.

8) Besides writing what is your long term goal or plan? My long term goal and plan, besides writing, is to be teaching young boys and girls wherever it may be. I do plan on going overseas too which is why I applied for a passport not too long ago. Making a difference in the lives of kids and people means as much to me as writing does.

9) What is your weakness in the process? Editing and illustrating. I can come up with ideas but editing is a pain in the butt for me though I still do it. Everyone has a weakness and that is okay. That is what makes writing unique. We all can be good at different areas and be weak in others.

10) Favorite food: Pizza (with all the meats)

11) Favorite Music: Soft Rock, old country,

12) Favorite Movie: Star Wars (the original trilogy)

13) Favorite Writer/Author(s): CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien

14) If you could go back in time what period of time would you go back to (just to observe)? I would personally love to go back to the Ancient Egypt era and see how the ancient Egyptians lived and see the building of the great Pyramids. I have always been fascinated by history.

15) Favorite Comic book heros: Male (IronMan for Marvel, Superman for DC) female (Black Widow for Marvel, WonderWoman for DC)

16 Favorite Villains: For Marvel it would be Thanos,  for DC it would be the Joker.

17 Birthday: July 11, 1982

18: Where were you born at? New Port Richey, Florida

19 Where did you graduate college from? Troy University. Go Trojans

20 (Last one for now) What are you going as for Halloween? Since I have a little niece and nephew and will take them trick or treating I will go as the Incredible Hulk.

#829 MI and DC strong favorites to end as top 2 teams in IPL 2020 points table; KKR have poor week as they were outclassed by RCB and MI; Quinton and ABD shines; DC outclass RR in a close contest; Nortje bowls 2nd fastest IPL delivery in the process; CSK are back as they outclass SRH to win their 3rd game; Jadeja excels; Punjab beat RCB convincingly though it had a last ball ending and more..:-)

RCB were a confident bunch after outclassing CSK. They took that confidence to match against KKR. Padikkal and Finch had another 50 plus stand, their 3rd of IPL 2020. Platform was set. Russell castled Padikkal for 32. RCB 67-1. Finch was dismissed by Prasidh for well made 47. RCB 94-2. Platform was set for ABD and Virat to excel and they did. They had 100 run stand in 50 balls to take RCB to 194-2. ABD hit a brilliant 73 of 33 balls which had 6 sixes and 5 fours. Virat was happy giving strike to Abd. 2 of ABD sixes hit the driving cars on the road outside the stadium. That was ridiculous to see. KKR were never in the chase. Gill was top scorer with 34. Rusell was dismissed smartly by Udana with a wide slow yorker. RCb used 6 bowlers and all picked up wickets. RCB won by a massive margin of 82 runs. ABD was the difference on a pitch which was 2 paced.

Struggling CSK team faced SRH who were in indifferent form as well. CSK opened with Curran and Faf. SRH had a dream start when Sandeep dismissed Faf for a duck. Curran hit some lusty blows before being dismissed for 31 by Sandeep. Rayadu and Watson hit 40s to take CS past 110. Cameos by MSD and Jadeja took CSK to 167-6. 59 runs came of last 5 overs. CSK needed this momentum. They had chased in all last 7 games. For a change they were defending in which they are master at especially when ball spins. SRH struggled right through. Baring Williamson, nobody had a longer stay at the crease. SRH fell short by 20 runs. They were in the chase till 16 overs. Once Karan dismissed Williamson for 57, match was over. Jadeja starred with the bat and the ball. CSK looks back in rhythm. They look hungry now which is dangerous for other teams.

DC faced RR in Dubai. 57 by Dhawan and 43 ball 53 by Shreyas helped DC to a score of 161-7. Though Butler and Steve smith were dismissed in quick succession  to reduce RR to 40-2, Stokes looked in control. At half way stage RR were 85-2 and were oncourse for a win. Tushar dismissed Tushar dismissed Stokes for his maiden IPL 20 wicket in his debut match. RR 86-3. Samson was castled by Axar the next over. RR 97-4. RR had started choking. They needed Tewatia again to rescue them. Uthappa gave RR some hope with good hitting. RR needed just 39 runs from last 5 overs with 5 wickets in place. It was RR’s game to lose. But match turned from here on. Ashwin just gave 2 runs. RR missed a trick by not attacking him. It came down to 29 from last 3 overs. Nortje then bowled a fab over where only 4 runs were conceded and in the process castled Nortje too. There was no Tewatia magic this time around as Rabada and Nortje are bowlers of different class. DC won the match by 13 runs. In so many matches in last 2 weeks in IPL, teams have lost way in a chase when they were in firm control.

RCB batted against Punjab. RCB batted first after winning the toss. Padikkal and Finch had a good 38 run stand in 4 overs before Arshdeep dismissed Padikkal. Finch was dismissed soon after. RCb 62-2 in 7th over. RCB faltered post this. RCB brough Sundar ahead of ABD to have right – left combo. That slowed the run rate. Once Sundar was dismissed for 14 ball 13, RCB still didn’t learn. They sent Dube ahead of ABD. This was getting ridiculous. RCb lost plot. SHami dismissed ABD and Kohli in the same over. Morris-Udana hit 31 runs of last 9 balls to take RCB to 171. Had ABD come ahead, RCB could have got close to 190. Mayank took the attack to RCB . He attacked all bowlers baring Morris. He scored 25 balls 45 runs before Chahal castled him. He had hit Chahal for 3 sixes. RCB 78-1. Gayle had come in to play his first match since Jan. He took time to settle. Punjab needed 69 runs from last 8 overs. RCB had Udana and Chahal with overs left. But he went ahead to give Siraj a bowl in the death. He gave 35 runs in 2 overs to change the match. For some reason, Punjab took the match to final over. They needed 7 from last 2 overs and 2 from last over. Punjab is never behind a drama. With 1 needed from 2 balls, Gayle was runout for well made 53. Pooran came and hit Chahal for a six to give them their 2nd win in IPL 2020. Pooran’s hit barely crossed the rope. Had he got out, there would have been a super over.

DK decided to step down as KKr captain to focus on batting. Morgan won the toss and chose to bat. They struggled big time against MI bowling. Chahar had dismissed Gill and DK of consecutive balls.  Bumrah dismissed Russell for 2nd time in this IPL. Cummins’s 36 ball 53 and 29 ball 39 by Morgan helped KKR to 148-5. KKR needed early wickets. Rohit and Quinton played freely and with purpose to have 94 run opening stand in 63 balls. That took the match away from KKR. Quinton hit another 50 for MI.  MI eventually won by 8 wickets with 3 plus overs remaining. Quinton was unbeaten at 78. They are the only team who are very comfortable chasing in UAE. Reason is their depth in batting and the amount of power hitters they have. If any team has Pollard-Pandya brothers to come at 5-6-7, a very score would be needed to test them else MI will cruise. And they did cruise to their 6th win in 8 matches to go to top of IPL points table. MI and DC look strong favourites for top 2 spots. CSK, KKR, SRH and RCB would fight for other 2 spots considering current form.
