Almost definitely getting worked up over nothing but-
I’m meant to be revising but currently I’m pacing the house whilst mulling over the HYPOCRISY of the supermarionation community on instagram.
So we revere one cgi remake but not the other one? Is that what we’re doing? I SEE HOW IT IS

Ahahaha why thank you
Whilst I haven't ironed out all details, it stems from the idea that Ridley ended up (reluctantly) following the family "trend" of going into the GDF.
Ie, her parent(s) are amongst some of the original members of the GDF, having joined the Force shortly after the Global Conflict. Ridley isn't particularly interested in the organisation herself, especially not when she's got her own dreams of becoming an astronaut for NASA or the World Space Agency.
But then her parent(s) end up passing away whilst on duty (or similar, again, very not ironed out™), so Ridley ends up putting things on hold whilst she sorts through her life etc etc...
Then, after a few years / when she's of uni-ish age, the GDF pops up as an opportunity and she kinda... decides to find out what her parent(s) saw in it. So, surprisingly she ends up applying to them? And gets in?
So she gets through training, graduates as an officer and... doesn't really see what the whole thing was. She doesn't really like it, but she figures now she's following in their footsteps. So she sticks with it.
Then, the space branch job gets offered to her. Which she takes... and that's when she starts enjoying work. Coupled with being promoted to Captain, then meeting John/IR and later becoming a GDF-IR Space Operations Liaison Officer (separate headcannon that I'm using on her blog) she finally finds her place in the organisation. So to speak.
A (semi) serious post as per -
Why has every TAG thought I've had this week come back to what if Ridley never wanted to be part of the GDF but circumstances™ happened
I cannot form a decent indulgent plot in my head this week for daydreaming, it's literally just. That. Ridley and her career 👁

Thunderbirds ask game!
🤔What’s a story you’d love to write but haven’t even started yet?
Hello! I'm still so happy you've been unblocked! Going to get to those asks today finally!
First of all, thank you for sending the questions!
I think I answered this one(?) but I can't remember so I'll answer it again! I think, even if I did answer it, my answers have changed so it's fine! (I said answer so many times there, wow).
I would LOVE to write an AU crossover for Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet where Scott and Paul are friends from before (I do love a crossover!) Like a pre-show AU. They both have the Air Force in common (different ones but shush, we can have synchronicity in the AU/or at least a viable explanation) so exploring a possible friendship before everything goes down... yeah, I'd be interested in delving into that world. Paul and Scott are so similar, at least in my opinion, and I think they'd get along grand.
I also headcanon Adam and John knowing each other from university, but that's a whole other story! I have a fair few TB/CS crossover ideas that are yet to see the light of day tbh.
Also, one I'd love to write but as of yet haven't is a background story for TAG Penny. The plan for that was roughly started last autumn but I've yet to get on with it. I'm thinking I might but it over on my Penelope account now though. I'm not sure.
Again, thank you so much for the asks! I'm going to get to the others later! 💙💙

I was thinking about the How They Kiss You Headcanons again (when am I not thinking about them?).
Specifically, how mime bomb cant kiss you with his makeup on. What if you and him make a point to remedy this, by buying a bunch of different lipsticks. He tests each one out on you with a kiss. Its ticklish hehehehe.
Eventually, when you find the lipstick that doesnt leave any smudges, you two start making a plan to rob as many as you can.
(what if this is mimebomb and thunderbird?!)
Be gay do crime (:

Finally finished my last assignments for the Spring Term! 😁😁😁
Though, during this rather stressful week of finishing them, Captain Scarlet (with daily dose of Thunderbirds of course) is the one that helped me. I blame @mariashades for this lol. (Seriously, go read her CS fics. So good! X3)
And through that, I learnt that Dr Fawn was an Aussie (how did I missed that?), Lieutenant Green is the oldest of 9 siblings and Colonel White is such a Dad of Spectrum
(Happy Father's Day, Charles!🤍🤍🤍)

Viral video shows how USAF F-15 pilots train for dogfight
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 03/27/2000 - 11:02 PM in Military, Videos
It does not take a trained pilot to appreciate the legal factor of a recent TikTok video showing from inside the cockpit the F-15E Strike Eagle fighters of the U.S. Air Force (USAF) hunting each other over the desert near Nellis Air Base, Nevada.
The video, filmed from the cockpit from the front to the back seat of the Eagle, has been seen more than half a million times on TikTok and shared on the unofficial Air Force subreddit, where readers left more than a hundred comments with questions such as what type of aircraft is flying and why is the tail shaking so much in the wind?
It turns out that the video, which was first shared on the popular TikTok Combat_Aviationist page, has already made the rounds among U.S. Air Force F-15 Eagle pilots, some of which think it is a cool illustration of how fighter pilots train near air combat, or dogfight.
@combat_aviationistStrike
Eagle vs Strike Eagle
? original sound - combat_aviationist
"One of the best 3k defensive videos I've ever seen," said Trevor Aldridge, a former U.S. Air Force pilot who mainly flew F-15C Eagles, but also flew F-16s with the Thunderbirds of USAF, the main air demonstration team of the service.
By "3k", Aldridge was referring to one of the three air combats that USAF pilots learn in basic fighter maneuvers, the air-to-air combat A-B-Cs. "3k" means that aggressor hunters start combat 3,000 feet away from each other, while the other basic combats, 6k and 9k, begin at 6,000 and 9,000 feet away from each other.
"Anything beyond that really turns into a high aspect [basic flight maneuvers], which we also practice," Aldridge said. “It is all the building blocks to be ready for any type of combat you find yourself in.”
Tumblr media
Basic hunting maneuvers teach more than just maneuvers: they also teach the crew how to feel the aircraft. As can be seen in the video, when the opponent is within visual range, the hunting teams spend a lot of time looking at the Canopo and accompanying them. This requires a skill set of their own, because pilots need to feel what is happening to their plane without wasting time looking at their instruments.
"I want to maximize Eagle's performance by feeling and noise without having to look inside the cockpit," said Drew Armey, another F-15C pilot. “Don't look inside the meters, this is a skill versus instrument flight, when you have your eyes inside.”
Tumblr media
Keeping an eye on your enemy is just the beginning: sometimes, to survive an air-to-air battle, you almost need to read your opponent's mind. TikTok shows an F-15 approaching the cameraman's tail, close enough so that the approaching pilot can use his weapons on the defending aircraft. But shooting a fast-moving aircraft from another fast-moving aircraft is a complicated business: if the pilot does not lead the target enough, he will make a mistake. This fact gives the defending pilot another set of decisions to make, Armey explained. If the bandit's nose is pointing straight to the defending jet, it may mean that he has no chance, because attacking pilots need to lead their targets. However, it can also mean that the bandit wants the defending aircraft to move away so that he can get an advantage over his target.
The attacking pilot must make similar calculations: if he approaches the enemy, the pilot is more likely to hit the enemy with his weapon, but the pilot is also at greater risk of maneuvering the defender and becoming the attacker.
Tumblr media
"There is some ability to show the defender this photo where they want to maneuver their jet and in their sights," Armey said. "This is the performance razor wire."
Making these judgments and decisions is a skill that basic hunting maneuvers, such as those shown in this TikTok, serve to help fighter pilots improve. But the specifics of what is happening in this particular video are a little more difficult to define, especially since the video seems to be of several combat trainings united. The first combat looks like a basic 6k fighter maneuver engagement that turned into 3k, or the beginning of a 3k, Aldridge said. The Strike Eagle with the camera probably started on the defensive, with the other aircraft starting at the tail and staying there, he added.
Tumblr media
As the chase continues, the video shows smoke coming out of the wing of the leading aircraft. These are one of the flags that the Eagle is launching to prevent the opponent from launching heat search missiles, Aldridge explained. But the flags cannot fire weapons, which is why the leading aircraft has to rotate and turn to keep the attacking aircraft trying to catch the target.
"In the second fight, it seems that he initially makes a turn before descending," Aldridge said. “This is a standard 6k defensive game plan, break until the bandit proves that he can overcome you, then change the game plan and, in this case, go downhill.”
Tactics change based on how close a pilot is to his opponent.
Tumblr media
“In more distant combat, I can keep them very far away, keep them out of the reach of weapons,” Armey said. “If a bandit is close to me, my ability to escape is very low, but if they are being aggressive and making a mistake, I can cause this closure to make them overtake.”
TikTok shows this closure and overtaking around 27 seconds, after the first jet crosses the path of the stalker jet.
"You see the defender pulling the striker, who passes quickly, he is the one who is causing the closure," Armey said.
Still, another pilot with 1,400 hours of experience flying F-15 said that TikTok was less about teaching tactics and more about looking cool.
"Haha, very funny," said the pilot, when asked if the video was to show defensive maneuvers of the Strike Eagle. The pilot spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not allowed to speak to the press.
"Illustrating the defensive maneuvers in a Strike is like illustrating the fuel efficiency in an Abrams tank," said the pilot. "So no. It's just to look cool. Strike Eagles are pigs in the visual combat arena."
Tumblr media
By "visual arena", the pilot means a fight where the crews of the opposing aircraft can see each other. Air-to-air missiles with active radar systems allow pilots to fire missiles at each other from the horizon. But if the missiles are not working, or if a pilot no longer has missiles in his jet, then it depends on his skill with a weapon. Basic hunting maneuvers help teach this skill, although the anonymous pilot believed that TikTok aviators were doing a show instead of a fight.
"The video seems quite staged," said the pilot. “The offender in the video settles in a shooting position for several seconds at a time, which means that the defender would be dead several times at the end of the video.”
Armey wasn't so sure: he couldn't look closely enough to see if the attacker had the defender dead. However, he knew for sure that it was a very cool video and more accurately represents air-to-air combat than, say, the successful 1986 film "Top Gun".
Tumblr media
"I love this movie, but they are flying very close to each other, it's basically a training flight," Armey said. “I understand this from a cinematic perspective, because it is difficult to capture what is happening when the fighter jets are 6,000 feet away from each other, and even that is close.”
Part of what TikTok stands out is the unusual angle of the camera looking behind the aircraft as the fight continues. Most debriefs use images facing the front of the jet, Armey explained, so this TikTok offers a new insight into how to separate a shooting.
"This is real footage of how they are fighting, so it is much more representative in this sense," compared to Top Gun, he said.
Another feature of TikTok that Hollywood may not show is the tail of the main aircraft swinging in the wind. The oscillating vertical stabilizer caught the attention of TikTok commentators who were worried about the fact that it was about to break, but it is normal for a hunting tail to tremble like this.
https://www.tiktok.com/@combat_aviationist/video/7078045454193200430?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc&web_id=7080246923971954222
"The vertical stabilizer on both Eagle models vibrates massively under a high angle of attack," said the anonymous pilot. The angle of attack is difficult to explain, but the key concept is to keep the wings of an aircraft below a certain angle to the wind to ensure that the wings continue to produce support, without which the aircraft will stop. The Eagle is shaped in such a way that the fuselage itself generates a huge amount of support, said the pilot, which leads to air vortices and turbulence directly on and behind the jet.
"This leads to the vibrations you see in this video and is also the reason why the Eagle has two tails instead of a central one," he explained. “The air is very disturbed and turbulent in the middle, so the tails need to be moved to the sides to keep them effective.”
Tumblr media
Unrest is also normal on other aircraft, even on civil aircraft. Armey flew F-16 fighters before switching to the F-15s, and he remembered to observe the missiles under his wing "swing up and down in the wind". Air resistance is part of the reason why fighters are not built with super-rigid materials, which can break under such force, Armey explained.
As fun as it is to watch the video, social networks remind us that it can always be better.
"Waiting for the pilot to eject with the rocket launcher in hand," wrote a Reddit user, referring to a legendary video game trick.

Also something that struck me when I've been rereading the novels...
You can tell which stories are about military organizations and which are not.
Troy and Phones are friends, but Troy is also Phones' commanding officer and that is present in pretty much every interaction except for the brief scenes at the start when they're on stand by / essentially off duty. When Troy gives an order, Phones (and Marina) obey it unless they have a STRONG reason not to. Like Phones waited the amount of time Troy ordered BOTH TIMES in Monster before heading out, and even though he pointed out issues with Troy's plan, he never flat out refused to do what Troy ordered (Troy does take what Phones says into account, which I like). Later in the novel, Atlanta and Marina ALSO obey Troy's orders, only breaking the orders and moving before they were supposed to due to the earthquake.
The same holds true with the CS novels. While Blue and Scarlet are TECHNICALLY of the same rank, due to his special abilities, Scarlet is treated in-verse as a more senior officer - if he gives an order, the other Captains obey unless they have reasonable cause, and if they give Scarlet an order he can choose to follow it or not (he usually does, but the 'rank difference' can be seen in the interactions). Meanwhile White is 100% the commanding officer and any order he gives is followed unless there is STRONG reasonable cause, and even then you WILL get in trouble for it once all is said and done.
Compare to the Thunderbirds novels, where Scott is the field commander, and his plans are usually solid, AND he's the big brother, so odds are the others will do what he says... but you can tell it isn't 'commanding officer' and 'chain of command' and there's more than one instance just in the novels (and comics) of the brothers disreguarding 'orders' and doing their own thing, and Scott quite often will follow the others' lead if they seem to know the situation better.
Then you've got Penelope who is just doing spy stuff and mostly solo with Parker acting as support / backup (and sometimes Roger Lyon helping out). When Penelope tells Parker or Roger what to do, it isn't from the place of 'commander' but instead from the place of 'most skilled / experienced operative present'. She knows what she is doing and how best to make use of resources... but she can and has stepped back and followed the lead / 'orders' of others if they know more about the situation than she does
Rereading the first Stingray novel, as a comment from someone else on it (I'm sorry, I'm HORRIBLE with names :( edit: It was @lugenethedramallama !! ^^) reminded me of how much I love 'em
A: I'd forgotten that Troy name drops Steve Zodiac, specifically as an astronaut, thus directly tying Fireball XL5 into the world as Stingray (somethign the shows sadly never did, although the comcis did so VERY directly. Legit crossover events! ^^ ) edit: Also I forgot taht not only does Atlanta name drop Venus and Fireball.. she apparently is FRIENDS with Venus ^^
I LOVE how clever Atlanta is in a very bad situation. (also just how deeply Sam loves his daughter)
Marina spotting the net and saving the day is a great moment, and evenwithout talking, she still makes her thoughts known!
Troy and Phones' friendship is just.... AUUUUUGH I love it. They're brothers and it's great
Also the moment after Troy sneaks into a town to try and get info, runs into trouble, manages to get back just in time to run into Phones who's heading out to go find him: "Hold it, mister!" a voice growled. A figure stepped from the rock shadows and Troy saw he glint of moonlight on gunmetal. He chuckled softly. "Okay! Don't shoot! I'll come quietly!" "Troy!" Phones came forward eagerly. He was dressed as roughly as Troy was. "Gee pal," he said in a relieved voice, "I was just on my way to look for you. I figured you'd run into bad trouble!" "I hit trouble all right, Phones. But I guess it was good trouble for us. Tell you about it when we're aboard. You ought to be court-martialed for disobeying orders to stay put," Troy's tone took on a mock severity as they picked their way over the rocks. "Yeah?" snorted Phones. "Well, somewhere in the regulations there's a clause that says a crew can take over from the skipper if they think he's nuts, and seeing Marina and me are unanimous about that ---" "Okay, buddy!" Troy chuckled. "I cry quits."

Thank you for responding to my questions! Some general HCs for Father Howard would be great!
Right on.. once again sorry for the delay.
Father Howard General H/Cs
The second oldest in a family of four Daniel Howard had two brothers and a younger sister. Despite not being the oldest son, his father seemed to favor him in a way. Nothing outrageous or anything that could cause a rift between him and his siblings--he could only describe it as quiet expectation. It was something his older brother James managed to escape.
His father was the pastor of the only church in town, he had been for over twenty years. It was clear that James had no interest in taking over the role, his attention was mostly geared towards girls and football. In a way Daniel was impressed with his brother, he always remained impervious to his dad’s “family discussions” Most of them contained regurgitated bits from his sermon, and listed all the ways that the family needed to repent. That landed most of the attention on him, the quiet mild mannered kid that he was.
He was always very studious, despite not having any real interest in school. He completed his work in a timely fashion, never scoring anything less than a B. He liked to draw and sketch little things during class, if anything just to keep himself awake. He always sat in the far corner of the room, near the window where he could properly reflect.
Surprisingly enough, Daniel never fathomed ever following in his father’s footsteps, he managed to just fall into the role. He was pretty much disillusioned with Catholicism as a whole by the age of nineteen, two years into his full ride scholarship into a Catholic school.
In a way, Daniel knew that he was going to land a role as a priest. Despite his doubts and questions about the church as a whole, his life was pretty much mapped out for him. He made a promise to himself, if he ever ended up as a Pastor he would at least try to appease the masses.
So liberal in comparison to the rest of his family, he was always amused with the sins some people would confess. “I accidentally knocked over my neighbor's trash bin on the way to work.. I left the divorce papers out on the lawn..” Not that his father said any of that at the dinner table. not at all.
He was always “The new guy” whenever he switched cities, the words always held a deeper meaning. He would find himself head of a new congregation in a new town and still find himself starting from scratch. It always took a while to feel out the town and realize what the people really wanted. Did they want security.. Someone to listen,or perhaps just a glimmer of hope?
He enjoys most of the pleasures that the scriptures would deem punishable, his dad liked to start off in the early morning with a glass of wine which seemed questionable to say the least. He never went overboard, and neither does Daniel..he just thoroughly enjoys the taste.
When it comes to his life outside of the church, he’s a pretty reserved person. Despite having no problems with public speaking, he was always a bit of an introvert. He likes to tinker with things around the house, he has a knack for woodworking and vintage cars. It always seemed to surprise the people in town when they spotted him driving around in his white 57 Thunderbird.
He has a pretty dark sense of humor, and has always been drawn to the macabre and bizarre. Even when he was a kid, he’d spend hours in the library reading up on obscure medical anomalies.
Despite being a ‘man of faith’ he has a highly scientific mind. He learned early on how to feel out the crowd and keep some observations to himself. It was hard sometimes dealing with certain members of the congregation-- he just couldn’t understand their thought process. It was like talking to a brick wall, he learned to nod and listen--sometimes they just needed a way to vent.

Thank you!! ^^
A few marionettes may be ooc because I haven’t really watched much beyond Thunderbirds aside from a little CS-
Something based in my Living Puppets AU that I’ve been working on on and off. It’s probably got some ass writing but-
The Anderson Rescue and Conservation Centre’s staff room was full of its usual low hum, as the human staff mulled around. Some enjoyed their break catching up and relaxing, others sat at the tables with paperwork that wasn’t getting done itself, all of course keeping an eye out for the marionette Ambassadors, who had come to share the space rather peacefully.
The peace and quiet wasn’t too last however, and all eyes looked to the man who stepped in.
“Alright people,” the man clapped his hands together, barely taking the time to shrug off his sodden coat, “We’ve got a storm rolling in, a big one. You all know the drill.”
At once the room became a flurry of activity, humans grabbing coats to usher any stragglers back inside, others rushing to the supply room. Storms and marionettes didn’t mix, it was common knowledge. Hell, everyone knew it as one of the leading causes of Mania besides fireworks and separation anxiety. So for the Anderson Rescue, storms meant all hands on deck. Even the Ambassadors, who gathered around “Lady” Penelope, chittering away and finding their own tasks.
-
“Inside! Come on, come on!” Zackary bent over and shuffled along in the grass, trying to herd the decidedly uncooperative city-marionettes. The subspecies was adapted to urban environments, and would usually never experience the untouched countryside the sanctuary offered. But these lot - a social group the staff had taken to calling “Spectrum” due to their matching outfits in different colours - seemed obsessed, even if they acted more like skittish rabbits and grasshoppers than their wild-cousins.
“Adam, please! Paul! Get back here! There’s a storm coming and you won’t want to be outside when it gets here!”
Taylor pinched the bridge of her nose, squinting as the rain hit her face. “This isn’t working…”
A small rustle in the grass caught her attention.
“Oh! Hello, Colonel.”
“Colonel” was the nickname given to an older city-marionette, and the ringleader of the whole “Spectrum” clique, thanks to his rigid attitude and constant look of mild annoyance at everyone and everything around him. He was a stubborn old thing, had his order and liked to stick to it. But maybe, just maybe, they could use that to their advantage…
Taylor squatted down to get closer to his height. The Colonel made a single huff at her.
“Colonel? Could you please tell your little troop to come inside?”
The Colonel took several long moments to survey the scene, and upon finding nothing which he deemed should stop, stomped his foot.
“Colonel, there’s a storm coming.”
Stomp.
“You’ll all get soaked and Manic.”
Stomp stomp. How much stubbornness could fit into such a small body? Too much, in Taylor’s opinion. How on Earth had he once been a housepet?
A housepet. Hmm…
“…Charlie a good boy?”
That got his attention. Stern features turned soft, eyes grew wide, and the little marionette whirled his head up to look at her like a startled owl. He blinked, pondering the human’s words…
Zackary fell in the mud as the marionettes he was so close to finally catching banked sharply, rushing to the call of their ringleader. A stern-faced headcount and they were inside within the minute.
-
Why-no-swimming?
“Because,” Renee sat beside Marina, gently holding her back from trying to climb into the small hydrotherapy pool, “there’s a storm coming.”
The marionette blinked and signed again. She’d gotten better at it ever since Penelope had taken charge of her learning.
But-storm-outside.
Renee smiled. Marina may be quiet, but she wasn’t without character. And when the little blonde wanted to swim, she swam.
“Yes, the storm is outside, but you can still hear it inside, can’t you?” As if on cue, thunder rumbled nearby. Low and long, it was likely still a few miles out.
“Those sounds are only going to get louder, and it can upset marionettes. You may be comfortable swimming, but if others tried to follow you and went Manic in the water, they’d be in big trouble.”
Marina gave pause, blinking as a little frown pulled at her lips. She tapped her fingers on her arm as she pondered the human’s words.
A knock at the door drew their attention.
“Renee? How’s the little mermaid?”
“We’re working on it, Nick. Is Shore okay? I know Milo had concerns over his injuries acting up…”
Nick leaned against the doorway and nodded.
“He’s fine. Jeff snuck some calming meds into his tea, so he’ll probably sleep through the storm. Clever Tracy. Unfortunately Troy and George are showing signs of Mania, we could use a hand before they start a chain reaction.”
Marina spun around to look back at Renee, her eyes wide.
Friends-have-Mania?
Renee nodded grimly,
“Yes, but we’ll-“
I-Go-help!
At once the marionette raced out of the pool room, all ideas of going for a swim forgotten. Marionettes - especially wild ones - were often driven to isolation in modern times, however, their communal instincts remained strong. Loyalty was about the strongest thing a Marionette had.
“Well, at least it got her away from the pool.” Nick commented, listening to the tap tap tap of feet running down the hall.
Renee chuckled, “Yeah. You go find them a quiet room, I’ll grab some warm towels from the closet.”
-
By the time that thunder crashed overhead, lightning flashing in the windows, the common area had been fortified with sofa cushions and blankets. Anywhere and everywhere had been turned into makeshift dens and hiding places for those who wished to weather the storm together. Whilst the clear-up may be extra work once it was all over, staff were happy to allow and even help with the process. After all, if their residents were in one place, then they were easier to all check on at once rather than roaming the halls to search every residence.
Penelope’s heels clicked softly on the carpet, her little clipboard in hand. She peeked under tables and behind sofas, chittering briefly with those she found before scribbling on paper. Her fellow Ambassadors would run up and ramble off a sound that likely corresponded to either names or numbers before returning to their own searches, but for the humans watching, it could have meant anything.
“I don’t know how she does it,” Milo admitted, watching as Penny and Jeff exchanged words, a friendly bonk of the forehead - a common display of affection of any kind - before darting in different directions all within a few seconds.
“Does what?” Oliver raised a brow, looking up from where he was helping Steve and Mike pull a blanket over their hiding spot with Venus and Atlanta, “Write? Marionettes can be taught literacy-“
Milo shook his head, “No, I know that, I’m the one who got Jeff, Shore and the Colonel all writing. I mean how she keeps them so calm. Penny’s got a real talent for it. We can spend years studying their kind, working to build up relationships with our residents and make them feel at home, and we’re still behind her!”
“Maybe it’s because she’s one of them?” The latter man offered, rising back to his feet, “They’re probably very perceptive to her emotions. If Penelope and the other Ambassadors can stay calm, it might tell the others that it’s okay?”
Milo nodded, humming in consideration of Oliver’s words. That could be it. Marionettes were a lot smarter than people had given them credit for over the years, and real research had only begun in recent decades, so who knew what else they could do?
For now, he simply readjusted a cushion to better hide the marionette underneath, made sure the windows were shut, and watched as their old lad Parker batted at a toy over the heads of a few younger marionettes, their attention momentarily on the swinging object and not the raging storm outside.
-
“Okay, the Ambassadors - all of whom have clocked with staff - have found most marionettes in the common room, we’ve got the rest accounted for in their rooms and the Colonel has confirmed only his lot were outside before the storm hit.” Lottie tapped her pen anxiously, staring down at the register in her hands. Six months under her belt, but this was her first big storm. So far they already had four Mania cases, and to her that was four too many. To think something so painful and horrifying could be triggered just by fear alone, in such small and harmless creatures, was heartbreaking.
But that was why she was here, to help. The world was a cruel place for marionettes, and she knew she couldn’t fix that, but if she could at least help some of them sleep at night, help heal wounds and fill starving bellies and reunite with jubilant owners, then that was what she would do.
And things were going good aside from the Mania cases. Everyone was inside, safe, accounted for and checked on. No one was lost, no one was alone-
The young woman looked down at her register again, eyes widening at the five blank spaces. The Tracy litter.
“Shit shit shit shit!”
She bolted down the hallway, horrible images of thrashing, petrified little babies already filling her mind. What if they were Manic? What if they’d hurt themselves or gotten stuck trying to hide or fallen and strangled on a wire or broken a limb?! And what would it do to poor Jeff?! He’d been doing so well, so different from the broken wreck he’d been when they’d arrived. He was an Ambassador now! But if his pupplets got hurt-
Lottie threw open the door, expecting carnage. Screams. shrieks. wails. The slam of little limbs in Mania-driven fits.
What she found was silence.
Five little shapes snuggled together right up close to the window, their heads tipped as far back as they could go. With every flash of lightning and boom of thunder, the Tracy litter did not squeal, they did not cry. Instead they gave the tiniest gasps, the beginnings of sounds that could be called “ooo’s” and “ahh’s”. They seemed… soothed by the storm, watching with transfixed eyes.
She couldn’t believe it. Had to actually rub her eyes to make sure it was real. Pupplets without fear of storms? It was remarkable, unheard of even!
Then something brushed past her leg and Jeff Tracy trotted ever so calmly into the room, the tag on his collar making a soft metallic jingle. The proud father sat, then lay down on his side and chittered once. The boys scrambled to find a warm spot beside their parent, and Lottie had to bite back any silly “awww’s” as Scott nuzzled up under Jeff’s chin, holding hands with Virgil, who was curled around John, who was part way smothered with Gordon and Alan. All in their father’s protective embrace. Six pairs of eyes watched the storm roar beyond the safety of their home.
Lottie smiled as she drew the door shut, leaving the family to their sight-seeing. Weeks later, when the storm was all but forgotten, and the boys came to explore the centre beyond their Family room, “birds” would become a common nickname for them amongst the staff. Named for their flittering and constant noise like birdsong.
“Thunderbirds would probably be more accurate.”

Hello!! I'm at awe of how much you know about Thunderbirds, it's really cool! :D
Where do you buy/read the Thunderbird comics? :0 I don't seem to find them from where I'm from
Aw, thank you!!! #^^# I've been bouncin' about this fandom for decades is all, and I'm sure you know a ton about Thunderbirds as well ^_^
Well, most of the comics I used to own were actually gifts from my Grandpa (also where I got the novels) who was a HUUUUUUGE sci-fi buff. The rest of the comics (I actually had all of them, including the countdown run) I bought off of iOffer
Unfortunately, my entire comic collection and most of my books were lost when the watermain burst. I've been able to repurchase most of the Anderverse novels, but I can't find a place to buy the comics. iOffer is gone, and I've had no luck on any websites.
Best I've been able to do was find and consolidate scans I've found online, but it's incomplete (esp the Lady Penelope Comic-Magazine, I'm missing the second half of hers).
I've got the scans here, to be shared with the fandom so others can enjoy it. If anyone knows of scans to comics that I'm missing, please let me know so I can add them in! ^_^
The 2 Stingray novels (1 & 2) and 3 of the 5 Thunderbird Novels (1, 2, 3) from the 60s have been re-released, and apparently the last 2 TB novels are guaranteed to be made. A lot of us are hoping that the 3 CS novels and 3 Lady Penelope novels will be re-released as well. There's also a new official Fireball Comic anthology that has the full TV21 comics run for Fireball issues (not the Gold Key or other comic magazines though, sadly). Which has me hopeful that we might get a Thunderbirds or Lady Penelope Anthology (with the Lady Penelope hopefully including other original comics like Class 6 Sternoff, What Did that Dog Say?, Creighton Ward, Marina's comic run, etc)

it's me the gay shark again
Opinion on Thunderbird? 👀
“The short bird guy? I’ve worked with him a couple of times. He’s unusual and never shuts up about his boyfriend but he doesn’t get in my way and I can respect his efforts.
Patty thinks he’s a goof in a lovable way and she’s not wrong. If you stay in the same room with him for a bit something is bound to happen.
