Voltron: the proper drinking age for Cuban coffee…
Lance and his wife Elena is sitting on the couch, watching tv. Their son Leandro is running around the room, playing with a toy voltron blue lion.
The boy suddenly notices lance taking a sip from a very small glass and walks up to him.
Leandro: hay dad! What are you drinking?
Lance pauses and looks down at his son.
Lance: oh this? This is Cuban coffee.
Leandro: can I have some?
Lance: sure.
But before he holds out the glass, Elena stops him.
Elena: NO! Do not give him any Cuban coffee!
Lance: why not?
Elena: he’s too young for that.
Leandro: when can I have Cuban coffee?
Elena: when your 18 years old.
Lance: 18?! I was aloud to drink Cuban coffee when I was 11.
Then Elena turns to lance, looks him dead in the eye.
Elena: lance. If he drinks Cuban coffee, he is going to be WIRED. He’ll be bouncing off the walls, jumping on the furniture and running all over the house. He will be going for HOURS. Which means when it’s time to go to bed, he will NOT SLEEP. Which means if he is not sleeping, WE will not be able to “go to sleep” if you catch my drift!
Lance takes a moment to think about the meaning behind those words. Gears turning in his head and finally it clicks.
Lance: oooooooh… yeah sorry son, your moms right, no Cuban coffee till your 18.
Leandro: awwww D:>
Elena: that’s my final word on the matter, now go play.
Leandro runs off to play with his toy voltron lion. When he leaves, lance turns to Elena.
Lance: ok, when you said “go to sleep” you meant sex right?
Elena leans over and gives lance a kiss on the cheek. Wearing a mischivious grin.
Elena: so glad you caught on to that! ^_^

GLOW Party on the Norwegian Joy!

This was a very close friend of mine who just passed away a little over a week ago. I'd just talked to him last month too. Even though the article makes him out to be a little gruff, John was a sweet guy with the biggest heart. He was instrumental in my life, not just as a close friend, but with my band. We knew each other since the 80s. He died in his sleep. Probably the best way to go.
If you like the Mavericks, John was the one who helped Raul and Paul (the drummer) find a guitar player and a bass player. He even gave them their name. Aside from managing them in the early days he hooked them up with another mutual friend, Richard who put out the first Mavericks CD on his independent label Y&T records. That eventually led to the Mavericks getting a deal with MCA records and the rest is history.
