“Authorities are asking for help identifying several persons of interest at Dealey Plaza at the time of assassination. The FBI believes they may have been acting in concert with the alleged shooter, Lee Harvey Oswald. Vanya Hargreeves, wanted in connection with the deaths of several FBI agents inside federal building at Dealey Plaza. A Cubin exile known only as Diego, who recently escaped from the Holbrook Sanitorium. A bare-knuckle boxer with suspected mafia ties who fights under the alias “King Kong”. Allison Chestnut, a negro radical responsible for instigating and organizing the recent riots at Stadler’s lunch counter. And finally, Klaus, a controversial cult leader and known tax evader. The FBI is asking the public to be on look out for this unidentified boy and girl who they believe is being held hostage by the suspected terrorist network...” 

“Well, it’s true,” Five spoke up, stealing my attention which was previously on the tv. “I do feel like I’m being held hostage most days.” I rolled my eyes but couldn’t help but slightly agree.

“God I hate that photo,” Diego muttered.

“They’re saying I instigated the riot?” Allison asked incredulously. “That’s unbelievable.”

“Look, the good news is that we restored the timeline,” Luther pointed out.

“We did stop doomsday,” I chimed in.

“Yeah, a bunch of real goddamn heroes,” Diego scoffed. “We let Kennedy die.” Again with this bullshit. 

“Yeah, and now we’re the most wanted people in the world,” Allison added. Can’t we at least celebrate one victory? Five worked so hard to stop everyone from dying and they don’t even give him the time of day. She went on about how we need to hide but I knew we needed to do something else.

“Hiding isn’t gonna change anything,” I said crossing my arms. “The Commission will follow us wherever and whenever we go.” 

“She’s right,” Diego agreed. “They’ll never stop.”

“I’m sorry, since when are you an expert on the Commission?” Five asked sarcastically.

“Since I got back from there,” Diego replied.

“What?” I asked not believing it.

“Yeah, they headhunted me,” Diego replied. “Offered me a job. Full time with benefits which I had to turn down.”

Five gave him the most sarcastic look before saying, “They headhunted you...the village idiot?”

“What?” Diego asked standing up straighter. “Am I not allowed to be headhunted? Only the almighty Five and his girlfriend are allowed to be in demand?” My eyes widened and I felt my cheeks flush red. I opened my mouth to argue but Five beat me to it.

“Diego, you’re not commission material, all right?” Five stated. “Got an obstinate nature to ya.” 

“Who do you think it was that figured out that Vanya was the one that causes doomsday and stopped it?” Diego asks rhetorically. “Me.”

“Hey!” Klaus calls out in defiance. 

“I figured it all out on the infinite switchboard,” Diego continues.

“You were on the infinite switchboard?” I asked surprised.

“Hell yeah,” Diego confirmed. “I made that machine my bitch.” Okay, not being able to listen on I sat down on the stairs in front of Allison. Everyone started to get in on the arguing so I zoned out. Why didn’t Five deny me being his girlfriend? Did he just ignore the comment? Or did he possibly feel the same? Wait did I just think feel the same? No way do I like that asshole...

“I’m leaving,” Vanya speaks up catching my attention. 

“What?” Allison asks, her protective sister side showing. “To go where?” 

“Sissy’s farm,” Vanya answered. “Something’s wrong with Harlan, and I need to help him.”

“Vanya, we need to stick together, okay?” Luther replies. “Now more than ever.”

“That’s why I’m telling you this,” Vanya continues. “What ever is going on with Harlan, I think I might’ve caused it.”

“How?” I couldn’t help but ask.

“He drowned, and, uh, somehow I was able to bring him back to life,” She explained. “And now it’s like we’re connected.”

“W-what does that m-mean?” Luther stuttered confused.

“I don’t know, I can’t explain,” Vanya sighed. “But I know that he need my help. I need your help too. I’m scared. And for the first time in my life I don’t want to do it alone. I want my family by my side.” 

Everyone seemed to look away and I felt my stomach drop. I may have been a time assassin my entire life but damn I wasn’t this heartless. 

“Look, I’m sorry,” Diego spoke up walking closer to Vanya. “We have other priorities right now.”

“Diego’s right,” Five agreed. “For once. We need to make our stand here and now.” You know what, if no one else is gonna go I might as well. I may not be her family but I can tell she’s going to go with or without them and I don’t want her to go alone. 

I stood up but before I could say anything Five stopped me. He shook his head and right then I was about to do something I might regret. 

“Okay,” Vanya said dejectedly. “I guess I’ll see you when I see you.” Five walked away and dragged me with him.

“What the fuck was that about!” I shouted feeling my anger rise. “If none of you assholes are gonna go with her I am!”

“We need to focus on getting back to 2019,” Five countered calmly. 

“She’s your sister!” I exclaimed. “Doomsday is over! We have a little time.” He looked me in the eye and his eyebrows furrowed. It looked like he was mulling over his options. He nodded in agreement and reluctantly agreed. A small smile formed over my face knowing that he’s a major softie for his family. “Let’s go then!” I exclaimed grabbing his hand and dragging him behind me. 

Allison and Diego seemed to have the same idea as us because they were already out the door. Luther looked at us, surprised that we were following. Five wiggled out of my grip and walked slightly ahead of me, opening the passenger door showing Klaus sitting there. 

“Five, you...” Vanya trailed off. “You don’t have to...”

“I know,” He smirked. “You owe me one sis.” I smacked his arm and he rolled his eyes playfully. Turning to Klaus he spoke, “Children ride in the back.”

“Okay,” Klaus agreed willfully and crawled into the back making me smile. Five sat in the passenger seat and I realized there wasn’t going to be any room for me. I stood there awkwardly and Five seemed to notice and raised an eyebrow at me with a smirk. 

“I can find another ride,” I smiled awkwardly. I mean can you blame me? This is like a family bonding moment and I’m just...here.

“No you don’t,” Five countered grabbing my wrist. 

“You’re apart of this family now whether you like it or not,” Klaus chimed in with a giggle. 

“But there’s no more room-” I got cut off by Five placing me next to him. We barely had any room and half my leg was on his. I felt embarrassed and felt my cheeks slightly heat up. 

“Guy’s,” Vanya said with a happy smile. “I don’t know what to say.” I was so happy that the Hargreeves realized how important family is. The trunk opened and Luther climbed into the trunk and I had to stare forward to not laugh at how the car barely supported his weight. 

“Anyone makes a fat joke and I’m outta here,” Luther said which made it even harder not to laugh. I mean I had to cover my mouth with my hand to stop myself from snorting. Vanya pulled out, the exhaust pipe dragging on the ground the entire ride.

so hey.......y’all remember when i said that sometimes, just for fun and the hell of it, i make lists of “endgame” ships in my fandoms? bc yeah, that’s a thing that i do sometimes. XD

having now finished kh3, i’ve finally finished my endgame ship list for kh, and i figured that it might be a fun thing to share!

the actual list i’m gonna put behind a cut, bc it’ll be hella long (bc seriously.....i put about 95% of the characters into ships, and this includes all of the humanoid-ish disney characters too (barring most of the villains, bc....well, those characters are dead)), but before that, i’ll give you some....idk, context behind this list. 

keep in mind, this entire affair is just like........gonna involve a fuck-ton of indulgence on my part. and most of this is fairly light-hearted. most importantly of all, this is pretty much a self-challenge: i paired up the majority of the characters just to see if i could, with the additional challenge that i could only pair them with characters that actually, canonically, have appeared in kh (this means that i couldn’t substitute in other final fantasy or disney characters); i did this to see how creative i could get with my ships, really. 

idk if i’ll ever actually get around to writing fanfic for this verse (tho i do have a lot of headcanons, and i’ve actually put (probably far too much) thought into how i think these ships would work/come about, and my long-suffering friend Ip, bless her, has been an incredibly good sport about being a sounding board for all this), but i tend to refer to it as my “Healing Vision”, and it’s basically a post-kh3 AU, that presumes that everyone but xehanort (and also eraqus) got to live happily ever after. and this verse is so named bc, apart from everyone being able to heal and be happy after the traumatic canon, i also wanted to do my absolute best to put them in.....idk, healthy ships, and not ones that i think would be more toxic. everyone had redemption arcs, is what i’m saying (even if they never did or would have gotten them in canon).

y’all don’t understand, at this point i probably have over a hundred pages in various word docs of notes about this verse, so please feel free to ask if you want to hear more about it, i need validation of my madness---

- ven and hercules dated in bbs (then the Plot happened, ven pretty much vanished, and eventually herc moved on. they’re a bit awkward with each other now, but they agreed it’d be too weird to even attempt to date now, bc herc outgrew ven while he was in a magic coma)

- zack’s alive bc they forced hades to resurrect him like he did with auron (my hc is that the deal he made with cloud in kh1 was to bring zack back to life, but hades reneged on this; when cloud finally shared this info with sora, a Quest was undertaken to get hades to honor the deal)

- repliku’s name in this verse is Kiru (he decided to go along with the Theme, minus the sigil); sora’s mom is named Hikari; and i’m going with henry and florian for the real names of prince charming and snow’s prince, respectively (marluxia will probably still call henry “charming” as a sort of affectionate and kind of joking nickname (bc in this verse, henry is the definition of a Disaster Gay))

- goofy and pete dated in the past, but broke up with goofy came out as aroace; pete’s still kinda bitter about it

- aqua/larxene/yuffie is 100% a thing bc i feel that aqua deserves to be able to have fun and not be the responsible mom friend for once; aqua and cinderella also have some playful flirting, but it’s never really serious

- terra’s getting a staycation with his girlfriend, and aqua’s getting a vacation with her girlfriends 

- olette/xion/namine/sora/riku is Peak indulgence for me; i love namixiolette, sonami, and soriku too much to want to choose between them? fuck it, they’re all smushed together in a poly pile now. this is my indulgence fic, i can do what i want, and none of you can stop me XP (the other sub-ship combos, riku with any of the girls, and sora with the other two girls, are more queerplatonic, ftr)

- there’s like a whole soap opera behind mickey/minnie/daisy/donald/goofy coming to their current arrangement, mostly bc the idea of giving all the Drama to these characters in particular amuses me; same with past goofy/pete

- a recurring Theme in this verse is that compulsory heterosexuality is the true darkness, and pretty much no one is straight (and so, light = gay) (this is how the final confrontation in kh3 truly went down: sora: kingdom hearts, is gay! / xehanort: shit...u right, bro. kk, lemme just fade into the light of gay with my bf then)

- sephiroth in this verse is mostly just a vehicle for me to be able to mildly punish terrible lightside mentors, so this ship with the MoM is kinda a cracky spite ship (before kh3 went all in on xehaqus, this was eraqus’s original fate XD)

- i will admit, gula/brain is mostly just me going, “you both really annoy me, and i don’t care to find you better ships, so you two can deserve each other”; to be fair to myself, this attitude was on the rarer side during this process

- hiro totally builds a robot body for tron to use to visit the outside world, tho he still chooses to live in the computer most of the time; tron’s besties with baymax 1 & 2

- i’ll be honest: scrooge, huey, dewey, louie, chip, dale, and possibly jiminy, by my rules, should have been put into ships. they’re not bc i couldn’t find any that worked for me *shrugs*

- phil is more like zeus’s on and off again boyfriend; he’s really fucking annoyed that he keeps having to train a lot of zeus’s offspring, and that he kinda, in a way, ends up doing more parenting for them than zeus does; currently phil is kinda claiming herc away from zeus (”i’m his dad now, so there”) (so at this point, their relationship is more of a hatemance than anything else) (i guess in my hc, zeus skews more towards being like his myth self than the disney version)

- the total number of ships, if you’re curious, is 75

- i’ve actually got queer headcanons for the square characters (excluding the khux squad), and some of the disney characters, figured out (as an example, namine is a demiromantic asexual)

Wonderin' if i want to play maple right now so i can prep for Khali, gotta get a lotta nodestones n' mesos for both SFing my gear and cubin'. This tile has a real progression. When I started this morning I wasn't really focused. I was tired and distracted. I started the tile with Cubine and the only thing I had in mind was that I wanted to use red and black. But the cubine didn't go the way I thought it would. I really didn't like it, but I kept going, even though I wanted to ditch the tile and start again. Next up was Garlic Cloves. I reminded myself it was about the process not the outcome (how the tile looked) and started to focus on each pen stroke. I began to sense a rhythm. Inapod went smoothly but I wasn't sure what I wanted for the last space. I'd been thinking Indy Rella from the start, but I kept looking at Cubine and thinking how it was almost a buffalo check. So I just had to find out what Knightsbridge would look like in red and black. By this time I was having fun! I realized partway though I would get more checkerboard than buffalo plaid because I hadn't accounted for the black and red squares. I'll just have to try that another time! Now I feel rested, relaxed, and even energized.  “Do you think he went through boot camp?” Rio asked Evan, still staring at the boy in front of them struggling to do pushups.

“Aw, come on, Sarge. Everyone has to go through boot camp!” Evan turned back at Harris, who had collapsed on the ground as the other soldiers continued their pushups. “… They have to…right?”

They both tilted their heads, studying the Greenie, “He’ll be lucky to live through the first battle.”

“Don’t say that.”

“Do you think they’ll keep the camera here if he’s dead?” they both turned to look at the camera and their gaze was returned by the one unblinking stare of the lens. The cameraman had definitely just caught their whole conversation.

“Maybe,” Evan said, figuring the best way to get around the awkwardness of being listened to was to pretend it didn’t bother him, even though it clearly did, “Why did they pick Harris is he’s not the best example of one?” Evan was apparently a nervous talker because he continued to answer his own question, “I mean, I guess they probably wouldn’t pick the best soldier if they really wanted to showcase exactly what it was like for us.”

“People over in the States don’t know shit about the war.” Rio said, quoting a girl drunk at a bar one night, “They have no idea how bad it is and I wouldn’t be surprised if the army pulled us out of actual combat to make sure that people back home won’t know.

Evan thought over what she had said, then stopped breathing for a second to look over at her. She smiled slightly at him, “Yes, I know whose son Harris is. And I know you told him not to tell me.”

Evan nodded guiltily, “Sorry, ma’am.”

“Don’t apologize about that. You picked out me out as a risk to your fellow soldier and did everything in your power to protect him from me. I could preach a hundred sermons on protectiveness and not get the same result from some of soldiers. It’s admireable.”

“Thank you, ma’am.”

Rio sent him a rare proud smile. A smile that made her look more like a mom welcoming her son off the football field than a sergeant teaching her soldier how to survive.

The moment was quickly ruined by her turning away and yelling, “Melwin! Look alive!”

Church had gotten slightly better since Rio had gotten her boys. She had always had to go, but mostly she had just stuck to the back and had tried not to fall asleep. Now though, now she watched and listened as the boys sang and some even swayed during the songs. She kind of liked it. Melwin added to it though. The boy couldn’t shoot, run, fight, or do anything to, quite literally, save his life, but man could he sing. She sat behind him and the small church the army had taken over seemed to push his voice back towards her.

When she ran into Frangie the next time, she told her about him. Actually, they were here because of Melwin. He had somehow managed to make the butt of his M1 jolt back into his jaw when he shot.

“Stupider than all get out, but he’s got a good singing voice,” Rio said to her when they sat Melwin down on the chair.

Frangie laughed, she had a good laugh, and turned back to her patient, “Mind if I look?”

Melwin seemed hesitant to let the black woman look at his jaw, but the look that his sergeant sent to him over Frangie’s shoulder seemed to convince him that it would just be better if he didn’t complain.

Despite missing one finger, Frangie’s grip was gentle. She prodded his jaw with great care, looked at her supplies for a second before picking something up, she looked back at Rio for a second, “Have you heard from Rainy recently?”

“Not besides the occasional waves when she goes by. Usually I hear ‘hey, little shit!’ and I know Rainy saw me. Why?”

“You haven’t heard? Apparently, they’re trying to get her to take up another mission.”

“…Like her Italy one?”

“I think so. Rumor has it: it’s worse.”

Melwin looked up at his sergeant as Frangie cleaned the cuts on his jaw. She seemed tired and wary, but mostly concerned. Concerned for her friend, concerned for her boys, concerned for the war effort, even concerned for the people waiting for the US in France. He wondered how it would feel to have all of that weight on top of you, with the added pressure of being a woman in what was considered a man’s job.

“There’s nothing we can do for her. She couldn’t be persuaded not to do take the mission if we beat her upside the head with a plaque that said ‘YOU DON’T WANT THE MISSION’ written on it. She wouldn’t let us help anyway.”

Frangie finished on Melwin and let out a deep breath, “Hell hath no fury like a soldier scorned.”

“I do believe you are correct, Doc.”

Rainy found her the next day. Her hair had grown out a little longer from where it had been shaved off and her uniform fit a little better. She didn’t say anything, just walked up from behind Rio and stood by her side, watching Rio’s boys preform yet another practice beach landing.

“You look good,” Rio began, “Although I don’t suppose this is a social call.”

Rainy didn’t say anything.

“See that boy right there? The one tripping over air? That’s Colonel Melwin’s son.”

“The deserter?”

“Yep. He came back though. Now he’s trying to recover his reputation.”

“That why you have a camera following you?”

“Naw. The camera is there because I told the army it could fug its war bonds.”

“They gonna let you back into the fight with the civilian?”

“I just came back from a battle meeting so I’m assuming so.”

“What are you?”

“Third wave.”

“Damn.”

“Yeah… MELWIN! YOU CLOG THAT GUN I’LL USE IT TO CLOG YOUR ASSHOLE, YOU HEAR ME?! Sorry. That kid ain’t worth a damn.”

Rainy offered Richlin a cigarette and a small smile, “Sergeant suits you, Rio.”

“Maybe, maybe not. The other day, caught the boys using their guns like those little canes people dance with.” Rainy laughed as Rio took her M1 in both hands and danced with it. Rio smiled for a second, before getting really serious, “Rainy. These boys are greener than all get out, and they’re going into this landing first thing.”

“What’s the probability?” “They think about half will get through it.”

“Shit.”

“Rainy,” Rio looked at her imploringly, almost desperate for some advice, “Most of these boys won’t make it through the landing. Do I tell them? Do I tell them that their lives could end in a couple of days? Do I let them write home to their families telling them goodbye or do I not tell them at all? I’ve never had to handle this. Never been in charge of…”

Rio shook her head.

Rainy looked thoughtful for a second, “Would you want to know? When you were a private, would you want to know that you had a good chance of getting killed in the next battle?”

Rio thought for a long moment. The silence seeped in through every crevice. And then, “My first battle was a beach landing. Did I ever tell you that? We came up and first thing first the person next to me gets shot. I spent the rest of the fight basically bathed in his blood… I was so nervous going in though. I kept wondering if I was going to be brave and fight or be gutless and cower. I suppose if I knew the chances were slim I would have been even more nervous. Probably would have gotten myself killed.”

“And what do we call those who keep soldier alive?”

“Honey, we call them sergeants,” Rio smiled, remembering the words that had swayed her away from skirts and war bonds and adoring crowds. “So, I don’t tell them. Half of us get through. What then? The next battle and the next?”

Rainy looked down for a moment, crossed her arms, and turned to fully face Rio, “You might want to put your boys through another practice.”

Rio almost grimaced, noticing Rainy’s ‘get down to business’ face, “Blakely! Take them through as many trials as it takes for Melwin to stop tripping out of the boat! And – hey! You little shits, I’ll make you run a mile if I hear another complaint! Damn sons of bitches!”

Rio takes the cigarette that had been hanging unlit from her fingers and lights it. Next, she takes the flask and drains some of it, offering the remains to Rainy, who declines. Yes, this surely is the business side of the call.

“Alright, what?”

“Don’t ask how we got the intel, but we think we’ve found a small internment camp not far from the landing space, maybe two days walk. Headquarters wants me to go and sort out what is actually going on. Most of the Jews in Occupied France have gone radio silent, off the map. Sources say those internment camps are why.”

“What is it you’re asking, Rainy?”

“They want me to take a platoon through hostile territory, take the camp, find out what’s going on there, and report back.”

“Oh. Is that all?” Rio said sarcastically.

“Rio. I’m serious. We both know why they asked me, but I need someone I can trust. I know you, I may not know your boys, but I know you and how you’ll run your platoon. Will you come with me? Will you get me to Hell by going through it?”

The freckled-faced girl looked back at the boys, then at the woman in front of her, “Two conditions: First, we need another platoon, one that merges well with mine once we lose half our people.”

“The 119th.”

“Sergeant Dain Sticklin and Corporal Jack Stafford. That’s one.”

“The second?”

“Well, like you said, we’re going through hostile territory. The way I see it, with the two of us we’re like Silver Stars Squared or some shit, but my boys are gonna get hurt and I only do the best.”

“You want to get Frangie and cube it?”

“Oh yeah, we’re cubin’ this shit.”

“So, basically we’re getting Kasserine Pass back together.”

“We’re getting Kasserine Pass back together. MELWIN! BRING ME THE GUN! I TOLD YOU WHAT WAS GONNA HAPPEN! BRING ME THE GUN!”

With no in-person rallies or town halls, the 2020 campaign has taken a back seat to the coronavirus pandemic — and so has political fundraising. The latest Federal Election Commission filings are in for the first quarter of 2020, and they show that despite some overall impressive fundraising hauls, many campaigns saw a dip in contributions, especially in March. As campaigns reckon with the fact that 2020 races will not look like earlier iterations, fundraisers are still figuring out how to adjust to the new reality.

Take the 2020 presidential race. Presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden raised about $74 million in the first quarter, and President Trump raised about $34 million. As you can see in the chart below, Trump experienced a 4 percent drop in March from the month prior, while Biden nearly tripled the amount he made in February. Trump still has almost four times as much cash on hand than Biden has, but the former vice president had a particularly strong first quarter, perhaps in part because of a series of March primary wins that helped cement his position as the presumptive nominee.

Overall, federal candidates — including Trump and Biden — received more than $1.6 billion in the first quarter, and political action committees and party committees received more than $1.3 billion and $258 million, respectively.1 As you can see in the chart below, PACs were able to outpace their growth from February in March, while fundraising for candidates and party committees slowed.

This doesn’t mean everyone saw a dip in March fundraising. The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, for example, raised about $11 million in March, up about $2 million from what it raised in February.

Part of this might be cyclical. Operatives tell me that the days and weeks leading up to a quarterly FEC fundraising deadline are usually when campaigns kick their fundraising operations into full gear.

“Mid-to-late March would typically be prime time and when you’re holding as many events as possible,” said Don Goris, president of the conservative fundraising consulting firm Campaign Resource Group, which operates out of western Michigan. When things started to shut down in mid-March, Goris said, his reaction was “Oh boy, what is this going to do for our end of quarter push?”

The shift away from physical events, in addition to the state of the economy, has stressed political fundraising, and campaigns now must figure out ways to raise money that don’t involve groups of people gathering in one place.

Still, it’s a sensitive time to be asking Americans for money, as the economy faces a recession and at least 22 million Americans are unemployed. But dramatically pulling back fundraising efforts could lead to greater costs down the road, said Catherine Algeri, chief strategy officer at Democratic fundraising firm Chapman Cubine and Hussey. In 2008, her firm saw that candidates who spent less on acquiring donors and growing their email lists during the financial crisis struggled the most afterwards trying to build back up that infrastructure.

Some campaigns are now relying more on virtual tools and platforms to meet their fundraising goals.The last in-person event that Shari Yost Gold, a veteran fundraiser whose consulting firm worked with Sen. Kamala Harris and former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s presidential campaigns, helped organize was on March 10 in New York. Now, Yost Gold is helping her clients fundraise over video conferencing software like Zoom.

Yost Gold said Zoom works really well for small, targeted groups, but she’s found that larger virtual events are harder. Those larger events are also often critical in raising money, particularly from big, hundred-dollar donors. Connecting with those donors remains a priority, Yost Gold said, because she’s not sure if the small-dollar donors on whom Democrats have relied will continue to increase in number or will taper off.

Of course, not all campaigns are set up to fundraise successfully online. For instance, many leaner campaigns in smaller House districts often get by with “more old-school campaign methodologies like knocking on doors, and in-person gatherings,” Goris told me, adding that often digital fundraising is just less of a priority. But ramping up digital efforts in the coming weeks may be the only option available.

Yost Gold told me she was really pushing her clients to embrace digital outreach, as she doesn’t think Democrats will “have even 30 people in somebody’s house doing a fundraiser before the end of this election cycle.”

Of course, other fundraisers are more hopeful that in-person events can still take place at some point.

“If things start to normalize and improve, we have things we would like to plan. I guess, we are planning to plan, is the way to put it,” said Elizabeth Williams, an Alabama fundraiser working with mostly federal candidates. “As you get in later in the summer and fall, we would hope there can be more in-person events.”

Like everyone else, political fundraisers are trying to adapt to what each week (or day) brings in this global pandemic. But some fundraisers are hopeful because, as Williams puts it, this situation has made the importance of good government clear. “I think donors will want to support candidates who are capable of handling situations like this,” she said.
