Unlocking the Power of QR Codes: Your Comprehensive Guide to QR Code Generators
In today's digitally driven world, QR codes have become ubiquitous. These little black-and-white squares have revolutionized the way we access information, making it easier and more convenient than ever. Whether you want to create a QR code for a website link, contact information, or a special promotion, a QR code generator is your go-to tool. In this blog, we will explore everything you need to know about QR code generators, including how to make a QR code, the best QR code generator tools available, and the benefits of using dynamic and customized QR codes.
QR codes, short for Quick Response codes, are two-dimensional barcodes that store information in a matrix pattern. Originally created in Japan in the 1990s for tracking automotive parts, QR codes have since found their way into various applications, from advertising to inventory management. These codes can store a wide range of data types, including URLs, text, contact information, and more. QR codes are versatile and easy to scan using a smartphone or QR code scanner.
What is a QR Code Generator?
A QR code generator is a software tool or online service that allows you to create QR codes quickly and easily. These generators encode the data you input into a QR code format, generating an image that can be printed or displayed digitally. They are invaluable for businesses, marketers, and individuals looking to share information efficiently and effectively.
How to Make a QR Code
Creating a QR code is a straightforward process, thanks to QR code generators. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to make a QR code:
Choose Your Data: Decide what type of data you want to encode in the QR code. This could be a URL, text, contact details, a phone number, or even Wi-Fi credentials.
Select a QR Code Generator Tool: There are numerous QR code generator tools available online, both free and paid. Some popular options include Scanova, QR Code Generator, QR Stuff, and QRickit.
Input Your Data: Use the chosen tool to input your data. If you're creating a QR code for a URL, paste the URL into the generator. For text or contact information, enter the relevant details.
Customize Your QR Code (Optional): Many QR code generators offer customization options. You can change the color, add a logo, and adjust the size of the QR code to match your branding or personal preferences.
Generate the QR Code: Click the "Generate" or "Create" button to generate your QR code.
Download and Use: Once the QR code is generated, download the image and use it in your desired context, whether that's on a poster, business card, website, or product packaging.
Types of QR Codes
QR codes can serve various purposes, and different types of QR codes are designed to meet specific needs. Here are three common types:
QR Code for Link: This type of QR code directs users to a website or webpage. It's widely used for promotional campaigns and sharing links to product pages, social media profiles, or event registrations.
Customized QR Code: Customized QR codes allow you to personalize the appearance of your QR code to align with your brand. You can change colors, add a logo, or design it to fit a particular aesthetic.
Dynamic QR Code: Dynamic QR codes offer flexibility as they allow you to update the encoded information even after the QR code is created. This is especially useful for businesses that need to change the linked content regularly without reprinting QR codes.
The Best QR Code Generator Tools
Choosing the right QR code generator tool is essential to ensure your QR codes are generated accurately and efficiently. Here are some of the best QR code generator tools available:
QR Code Generator: A straightforward online tool that allows you to create QR codes for various data types. It offers customization options and tracking capabilities to monitor QR code usage.
QR Stuff: Known for its user-friendly interface, QR Stuff supports QR code generation for URLs, text, contact information, and more. It offers a range of design and color options.
QRickit: QRickit is a versatile QR code generator that provides various QR code types, including vCard (for contact details) and calendar event codes. It also offers advanced features like batch QR code creation.
QR Batch: Ideal for businesses and marketers, QR Batch allows for bulk QR code generation and provides tracking and analytics tools to monitor QR code performance.
Dynamic QR Code Generators: Services like Scanova and QR Code Monkey specialize in creating dynamic QR codes, offering the ability to change linked content as needed.
Benefits of Using QR Codes
QR codes offer a plethora of benefits, making them a valuable tool for businesses and individuals alike:
Convenience: QR codes streamline information sharing and access, eliminating the need to type lengthy URLs or manually input data.
Cost-Effective: Creating and distributing QR codes is often more cost-effective than traditional printed materials.
Trackable: Many QR code generators provide tracking and analytics, allowing you to measure the success of your QR code campaigns.
Versatility: QR codes can be used in various contexts, from marketing and advertising to inventory management and contactless payments.
QR Codes in Business and Marketing
Businesses have embraced QR codes as a marketing and engagement tool. Here are some ways QR codes are used in the business world:
Promotions and Discounts: QR codes can lead customers to exclusive discounts, coupons, or promotional offers, encouraging purchases.
Product Information: QR codes on product packaging can provide consumers with detailed product information, including ingredients, usage instructions, and customer reviews.
Contactless Payments: QR codes facilitate contactless payments, making transactions quick and secure.
Event Registration: QR codes simplify event registration processes by allowing attendees to scan their tickets directly from their smartphones.
QR Code Security
While QR codes are incredibly useful, they can also pose security risks if used maliciously. Here are some tips to enhance QR code security:
Be Cautious with Unknown Codes: Only scan QR codes from trusted sources and avoid scanning codes from suspicious or unverified locations.
Use a QR Code Scanner with Security Features: Opt for QR code scanner apps that provide security features, such as URL preview before redirection.
Educate Employees and Customers: If you're a business owner, ensure that your employees and customers are aware of the potential risks associated with QR codes and how to use them safely.
Conclusion
QR codes have evolved from their humble beginnings in automotive manufacturing to become an integral part of our digital lives. QR code generators empower individuals and businesses to create versatile, information-rich codes that enhance convenience and engagement. Whether you need a simple QR code for a website link or a dynamic, customized code for a marketing campaign, the tools and techniques discussed in this guide will help you harness the power of QR codes effectively. a rundown on the listed e-sim platforms from this tweet from mirna el helbawi. visit esimsforgaza to learn about this effort. (they also have a tutorial on how to purchase an esim and send it to them)
update v12 (5/21/24) holafly (israel and egypt), nomad (regional middle east), simly (palestine and middle east), mogo (israel), and airalo (discover) are currently in the highest in demand. if it has been more than 3 weeks since you initially sent your esim and your esim has not been activated, you can reforward your original email with the expiration date in the subject line. you can see gothhabiba’s guide for how to tell if your esims have been activated. if your esim has expired without use, you can contact customer service to renew or replace it.
troubleshooting hint 1: if you are trying to pay through paypal, make sure you have pop-ups enabled! otherwise the payment window won't be able to appear. (this issue most frequently seems to occur with nomad)
troubleshooting hint 2: if you are trying to purchase an esim using the provider's app, it may block you from purchasing if your phone does not fit the requirements to install and use their esims. use their website in your browser instead and this problem should go away.
nomad
for the month of may, first time referrals give 25% off for a person's first purchase and 25% off the referrer's next purchase! it's a great time to use someone's referral code from the notes if you are a first time buyer.
you can use a referral code to get $3 off your first purchase and also make it so the person whose code you used can buy more esims for gaza. many people have been leaving their referral codes in the replies of this post and supposedly a referral code may eventually reach capacity so just keep trying until you find one that works! BACKPACKNOMAD is another code to get $3 off your first purchase, it's been working for some people but not others so try out a referral code instead if you can't get it to work. NOMADCNG is a code for 5% off any middle east region nomad esims posted by connecting gaza. it can be used on any purchase, not just your first but is generally going to give less off than the first-purchase only codes, so use those first. it can be used in combination with nomad points. AWESOME NEW CODE: nomad esim discount code for 75% off any plan, NOMADCS25 do not know how long it lasts but this is an amazing deal esp. since they are really low on esims right now! (nomad promo codes do not work on plans that are already on sale, unlimited plans, and plans under $5)
weekly tuesdays only code on nomad web, PST timezone! it gives 10% off plans 10gb and above. NOMADTUE
nomad also seems to be kind of sluggish sometimes when it comes to sending out emails with the codes. you can look for them manually by going to manage -> manage plans -> the plan you purchased -> installation instruction and scroll down to install esim via QR code or manual input then select QR code to find the QR code which you can screenshot and email to them. often just the act of logging back into your nomad account after purchase seems to cause the email with the code to come through though.
mogo
mogo's website is fucking annoying to navigate and i couldn't find any promo codes, but their prices are massively on sale anyway. you have to pick if you want your esim to be for iphone, ipad, or android for some reason. according to statcounter, android makes up approx. 75% of mobile markets in palestine while iphone represents approx. 25%. so i would probably recommend prioritizing donations of android esims but if you can afford multiple, try buying an iphone one too? if i can find any official direction from the connecting gaza crew on this i will update with it.
a good referral code to use for mogo is 8R29F9. the way things are worded are confusing but as far as i can tell, if you use it we both get a 10% discount on your first purchase. (the referrer gets a 10% voucher that allows them to top up in use esims, they are someone who i know has bought a lot of esims and will be able to make good use of the top-up discount vouchers!) also upon signing up it automatically generates a password for you which you can change by downloading the app. (check your email to find your account's current password)
holafly (also looking for holafly esims for egypt now)
holafly is pricier than the others and the only promo code i could find was ESIMNOW for 7% off. someone in the tags mentioned GETESIM7 as another 7% off code they had received, so if you have already used ESIMNOW or can't seem to get it to work, try GETESIM7. another 7% off code is HOLAXSUMMER7 which is valid until june 2nd. referral codes only seem to give 5% off and they don't stack. (i don't remember the source, it was on some sketchy coupon site i don't want to link to and only can recommend because i tried it myself) you can also use my referral link for 5% off if you can afford the 2% worse deal on your end, it will give me $5 credit which i can put towards buying more esims. connecting gaza has also posted the promo code HOLACNG for 5% off but since it is less than the 7% off codes and as far as i can tell does not give credit towards others to buy esims like the referral links, i would consider it lower priority for use.
simly (note: simly must be downloaded as an app to be used, the website link is to help people confirm they are downloading the right app)
i have not personally used simly so i am going to be going off of the sixth slide of mirna el helbawi's instagram guide, with some corrections from someone who has successfully purchased an esim from simly. after downloading the app and making an account, search for palestine or middle east and purchase your preferred package. the page the app takes you to after your purchase should have the QR code to send to the esimsforgaza email, it won't show up in your email receipt. someone kindly left her referral code in the tags of this post, it gives $3 off your first purchase and will give her $3 credit to put towards purchasing more esims for gaza. the code is CIWA2. (if this referral code doesn't work, try one from the notes of this post!) according to someone in the notes, ARB is a simly promo code for 25% off esims that is still working as of march 3rd.
airalo
some people have noted issues trying to sign up for airalo using the browser version of the website, it worked for me but if you are struggling you can give the mobile app a try and that should work. you can use a referral code to get $3 off your first purchase and give the code suppler a $3 credit for buying more esims. KARINA9661 is a code sourced from this post which is also a wonderful example of how using people's referral codes can really make a difference. if for some reason that referral code isn't working, you can find more in the notes of the original esim post i made here.
@/fairuzfan also has a tag of esim referral codes for various platforms!
(note: mogo and holafly both link to israel esims as there are no general regional packages for the middle east like on nomad and the esims for gaza website specifically linked to the israel package on mogo, so i linked to the equivalent on holafly.)
#esims for gaza#esims#gaza#palestine#free palestine#connecting gaza#despite not having used simly myself i'm fairly experienced with esim services at this point so i will likely be able to answer some#questions and i also have someone familiar with simly i can ask if i am not sure of the answer myself. so please go ahead and ask questions#if you're struggling with donating an esim from any of these sources!

Summary of the current state of the Chess/AION ARG from both a real life and lore perspective as of 9:19pm PST below the cut, for any guardians interested in catching up. Copy pasted from Discord from a few hours ago but there's been little progress on the state of the board so. Sorry if it's a bit hard to read.
After compiling together a bunch of people's different chess boards they got from completing a game in Eris' throne world that can be done once you collected all the chess pieces in the world that spawned last week, a bunch of streamers were able to piece together a QR code that led to the following site: http://aion-archives.net/ If you complete the puzzle, which is 27 weird chess boards you have to solve, you will be able to interact with a bowl of water that says "the water reveals" and it will give you a four number code (Signal Frequency x----) from 0001 to 4096, along with a custom chess board that you should take a photo of. If you plug in your chess board to any kind of chess site and receive the chess notation or FEN number, you can go to AION and input the following: your frequency number, and then the FEN number minus a few pieces. This will give you one of three things: Green text saying match confirmed, blue text saying data corrupted, or purple text saying quantum spin failed. The last one means you input your FEN notation wrong, while the first two mean you successfully put in the FEN notation. Meanwhile, people are also piecing together each unique board generated to match a frequency by their borders, and lining them into smaller chess boards assembled out of either red or grey tiles. By finding the piece in that bigger chess board created by the smaller chess board that would create some certain checkmate condition, this piece can be plugged into the in-game chessboard and if you complete a square successfully pillars around the arena will light up. They have the middle square done as of right now.
A handful of numbers on the website from frequency signals, as well as a bunch of other random dates (typically in coordination with stuff to do in either Destiny/Bungie or actual real life chess history) will spit out little bits of lore from the terminal. AION stands for the Apollo Intertemporal Observation Network, and we previously heard a mention of an "AION Initiative" back in some of the dialogue you can unlock from Vesper's Host by progressing through the puzzles in the questline. This was mentioned alongside the likes of Rasputin and Soteria, who we know are BrayTech AI. This fact also came to us from Astraea, who herself is a BrayTech AI. It is also very likely that the corrupted data outputs in some way link to the Corrupted Puppeteer, which is a failed BrayTech AI attempt to simulate a Vex Mind that possesses the ability to jump across various hosts and was able to construct some kind of neural network hivemind amongst House Salvation refugees on the Vesper Station.
A dialogue piece that only unlocks once the questline is finished actually reveals the message that was received through the Anomaly, and it is essentially that of someone named "Lodi" communicating that they are adrift. It is very likely this person is connected to AION. Additional texts you can receive from the website are prompts about an experiment starting today, traveling to another star, and a bunch of shit relating to astrophysics. If you bug the terminal too much, it will literally IP ban you which has happened to some unfortunate people in the twitch chat.
What is most interesting is that the code for the chess puzzle was cracked by uncorrupting FEN notations held behind the following set of numbers: 10071956 (I believe). This date aligns with some super important game in chess history, but importantly, you can see it be one of the dates counted down on the satellite in the short Edge of Fate teaser trailer.
and basically that is what we have so far
also if you input bungie related dates you can get easter eggs like pictures of a chess board made out of master chiefs
Right now a LOT of dialogue suggests stuff about jumping through space and time, which aligns with both what we know about the Nine and how the whole ARG is basically a game of 4D chess.

this post is just some info on yesterday's DA:TV Fandom party at SDCC. :>
What was this party? [Here] is a post with the pre-event information that was made available. [Here] is a pre-event article that contains an interview with the organizer. And [this article] on the event contains some additional information, like on the versions of this party held in previous years, which helps for context. There was no new DA:TV information of note from the party
Links to Fandom (the company's) Twitter account, their Instagram. If you look at these (including on the Instagram Stories), you can see some pictures and stuff from the party. for those interested in watching a video version of some of these, Ghil Dirthalen posted a video recording that she made last night of Fandom the company's Instagram posts [here]. there are also more pictures and stuff from the party that you can see if you click through to [some of] the source links below here in the rest of this post.
As was previously reported the other week, Jason Derulo headlined the party (like as in a gig). Here's an image of him there [source] (the him singing DA stuff part was a joke tho btw hh). They considered having an orchestra because of DA's musical score but they got Jason Derulo
One of the party props was a big background of the DA:TV key art [source]. Here you can see the DA:TV logo on another backdrop. [source] This tweet contains both of these backdrops from a different angle
There was also an archway prop based on this DA:TV key art, and big screens which projected images from the game (including of Varric and this screenshot) [source]. It looks like these images were also projected to television screens? [source]
This tweet contains the questions and the answers to the DA-themed scavenger hunt (transcription of this at the end of this post), as well as a partial look at the map layout of the party
This is how photos taken in the DA themed photo booth look (this DA:TV screenshot was the backdrop) [source]
There was a VIP section at the party [source]. Gary McKay, the General Manager of BioWare, was there [source], as were John Epler and Zach Mendez (Lucanis) [source], Ali Hillis (Harding) [source], Nick Boraine (Emmrich) [source], Kari a BioWare Brand Director [source], Jessica Clark (Neve) [source] and Corinne Busche [source]. Erika Ishii (Rook) also visited but got kicked out of VIP hh [source]. Some cosplayers from the DA community were also personally invited by BioWare & PR at EA Games and attended! like Ladytoxie as Bellara ^^ [source, two], and some celebrities also, such as Doug Jones [source]
Ladytoxie mentioned that they will be posting a Vlog of their experience and coverage of the event, "probably next week" [source], having documented it at the time [source] (tysm!!)
Ladytoxie reported that it was a good, memorable experience and that everyone was lovely [source]
There was supposed to be some DA:TV-related pins and lanyards being handed out at the party, but these got stuck at customs, so there wasn't any goodies being handed out [source]
Links to some more images from the party: [one], [two], [three]

My first trip to Japan - Day 1
~17 hours of flying + a 90-minute bus ride from Osaka to Kyoto. Kansai International Airport was massive and chaotic and between being worn out from the long flight and just generally overwhelmed by big crowds and unfamiliar surroundings, it took a while for me to get my bearings. Mild weather but way more humid than the part of the US I’ve been living in for the past decade.
Japan has made their customs process fully digital. Before we boarded the flight to Osaka we were all instructed to scan a QR code that would take us to the official Visit Japan website to take care of what we would need for customs upon arrival. You have to make an account, fill out a 15-part questionnaire, then, once you’re all done, you receive a QR code that you need to scan along with your passport once you arrive in Japan and go through customs. It seems like it should be more streamlined this way but it didn’t feel like it; by the time I’d left Kansai International I’d had to go through the QR code/passport scanning and approval process three different times, first at a kiosk and then twice at two different manned stations. My passport was stamped at the first of these. I’m not sure what the point of the second one was.
I kind of wandered aimlessly for a while before finally locating where I needed to go to find a bus to take me to Kyoto. Attempted to have the conversation with the woman working the bus info station in Japanese; it started off well enough but I just couldn’t keep up with her and after I threw in the towel with an embarrassed “Wakarimasen, sumimasen,” she switched to English for me. But she was very kind about it and super helpful, and a few minutes later I was on a bus to Kyoto.
The bus ride was great just because it was my first real glimpse of Japanese scenery. Osaka is officially the biggest city I’ve ever been to; it’s just a massive sprawl. I still want to see Osaka Castle, but I’m planning to stick to Kyoto for the first couple of days at least (I’m here for thirteen days).
The bus ended up dropping me off literally right in front of the hotel I booked, so, big win there. It’s also right across from Kyoto Station, so getting around should be pretty convenient. For a relatively cheap hotel it’s actually pretty nice. When I checked in the young woman who helped me out informed me that because I was staying for so many nights, they had upgraded my room for free. The room came with slippers, pajamas, the deepest bathtub I’ve ever seen that isn’t a jacuzzi, and the toilet seat is *heated*. There’s also a bidet but I haven’t worked up the courage to try it yet. >_>
The hotel restaurant ended up being fully reserved so I walked across the street to 711 to find something cheap for dinner. Japanese 711s have a pretty legendary reputation and from what I saw today it’s well-deserved. I failed abysmally to communicate coherently in Japanese with the female cashier and then fumbled my way through using the unfamiliar payment machine. She was amused but also very kind and helpful. I will do better tomorrow.
Haven’t really decided where I’m headed tomorrow morning, but after this heavy travel day I kind of just want to take it a bit easy tomorrow and just maybe visit some of the nearby temples.

So this one all started because the visual of HST's outfit was so fun that I was possessed by a visceral need to draw it. Inspiration slapped me across my mind's eye, and much like a medieval knight being slapped in the face by a glove (which didn't actually happen, that's a myth that sprung from the throwing down of a gauntlet. but that's beside the point), I felt bound to take up the challenge. Which lead me to draw a few more, and then I ended up binding the whole thing.
(Also, I find it really amusing that the famous Terracotta Warriors were just storage for YXs stuff. And the gang going 'shopping' at various exhibits for gifts for friends/family,, like that sure is SOME window shopping! I can hear it now: 'Oooh I'll take one one those SMASH, and that SHATTER, and throw in some of those CRASH, they're going to love these! 😇'. All in all, it was a fun little read, and fun little project! :D)
About the Art
Because this was initially a one-off drawing I tried a new art style (and struggled to at least not stray too far for the rest). It was fun and helped me think more about shape and visual focus, instead of being caught up in the details.
The crow (based off of image ID: 4039963 from Rawpixel) and the red umbrella on the front cover were filled curves made with the pen tool. The illustrations' poses were based off of a combination of images found on Google and photos taken by myself.
Pinterest is awful for sources, but it would have been handy to pin the references I'd googled. Only remembered to save the one of a man sitting at a desk. (I deliberately searched for someone sitting with bad posture because YX is described as being "slumped" over the desk. I figure that since "the laws of physics held no meaning to ["cursed souls eschewed by the natural order"]", they'd also be immune to mundane things like discomfort from sitting hunched over for too long. Back pain images were a gold mine! All I had to do was choose one with lighting that would give me a silhouette.)
The Myriad Manifestations Umbrellas and illustrations were drawn in Procreate.
I opted for a more plain umbrella design because it's not (presumably) a fantastical weapon in this story. Though the initial version did have YX cradling the donghua!MMU.
For the scene breaks I inserted the images, pinned them inline as character, and adjusted height and baseline in the pinning menu to fit.
The author wrote one scene break differently than the others, using multiple empty paragraphs instead of just one. Following suit, I used a different image for that particular break. I wanted to reference vampires somewhere, so for that break I made two bloody spots resembling bite marks. The blood spots were made with a group of shapes in Designer.

On cover design:
Because the MMU is what sparks the whole heist, I wanted it on the front cover.
Earlier iterations involved a full cover spread with a man's shadow standing before a shattered glass case, with a plaque mounted on the wall to the left providing information. The plaque was formatted like a museum label and had the author, date published, title, event collection, and story description. I'd also added a QR code to it. Ultimately, I abandoned the concept because it was difficult to decipher what is was when only looking a one cover at a time.
My second idea for the cover would have been a bookcloth-only cover with a cut-out of the MMU on the front, acting like a window showing off an image of the MMU on paper below it. (Inspired by the work of a number of folks over on Renegade's Discord. Here's a few examples gleaned from a quick search: szynkaaa's lung cutouts, some of EHyde's books, and the front cover of Spock's massive all-in-one TGCF). As fun as that would have been to try out, I felt it didn't quite suit the style of the art so I nixed that too.
Eventually I landed on the back cover design with the Met exhibition webpage. At last, I felt that the back & white and simple-shapes-background went with the artwork. The webpage viewed on the phone is based off of the Met's actual website. I took a snip/screenshot of the Met's logo from the banner at the top, then looked at their exhibitions' pages and eyeballed it to create my own. (Threw in the QR because I wanted the easy access to the fic online on the back cover). I chose to use a phone screen rather than I computer monitor because it worked better composition-wise. And besides, while YX may be allergic to owning a phone, SMC is not. I imagine that she saw the news while on her phone then messaged him.
The front cover came together after that. An umbrella for the MMU, and a pop of red. One of YX's messenger crows. A black shape in the background similar to the back cover's, sort of creating a spotlight over the umbrella and placing the rest of the cover in shadow.
Trying New Things: Applying a protective finish to printed covers
Over on the Renegade Bindery Discord, folks have spoken about using a beeswax & turpentine/mineral spirits 50-50 mix to seal printed covers (thank you Kate). According to my dad that's just a paste wax, so he threw 3 different ones at me and said 'have at it'.
I tested them out using the same paper and inkjet I'll use for the cover. I was looking at 1) whether the paste wax affected the paper colour or print quality, and 2) the finish. After applying one coat each and buffing them out I had my winner. Then I applied & buffed two more coats to it and tested 3) water resistance by dripping tea on it. The liquid beaded up and wiped away without staining -- good, three coats will work nicely.
(Test results: Mystery paste wax from a friend wins.
The commercial SC Johnson Paste Wax Original formula (intended for woodworking) has a nice dry shiny finish, but coloured the paper slightly brown -> disqualified
My dad's homemade stuff has a nice shiny/satin finish and didn't change paper's colour, but it felt slightly tacky even after buffing it -- maybe I didn't buff it enough?
The gifted paste wax has a matte finish, didn't change paper's colour (in the image below this one has 3 coats. The paper is now slightly off-white, but still acceptable), and while not as dry-to-touch as the Johnson it was not as tacky as the other homemade stuff.)

When I print out my quarto covers, I print front and back covers side-by-side on the same page*, with some guides to ensure I'm cutting and gluing in the correct place. (The guides mark the boundaries of the covers and start of the turn-ins, and stop at the edge of where I cut. Before cutting I flip it over to mark the guides [see marks indicated in image below] on the wrong side and connect them so I can see where to glue/place book. Then flip it back over to cut, right side up.)
*I'm being economical here at the cost of possible warping damage. This layout means that I'm only using one sheet of paper, but the grain is running in the wrong direction (across the book instead of preferred head-to-tail/top-bottom). This could cause warping issues, but I'm OK with that. I'm hoping that by just gluing at the edges, instead of pasting down the whole thing, warping will be minimized. (I use wrong-grain endpapers most of the time with larger books anyways).
I applied the paste wax before cutting out the covers, working carefully to avoid accidentally creasing/bending the paper (which happened twice, but it was minimal and I hardly notice it). Doing so before cutting ensured that the cover material was completely covered. Even the turn-ins -- something I later came to regret. After all, wax is used specifically so that things don't stick to it. It made it rather difficult to drum on the endpapers because I was trying to glue something down onto a waxy surface. It all worked out in the end -- perhaps due to the fact that there were multiple layers of wheat paste which could adhere to each other, followed by being squashed in a press.

Hi, I found your account recently and adored your art. It's the good stuff ✨🤌and is just nice seeing Danny and the gang in general (how you draw them all is amazing)
Uhhh… Sorry to bother you but I have a question, please feel free to ignore it. Do you use cloud storage or something similar? If yes, what one do you use (or recommend)?
I started drawing digitally for about a year only, I'm very confused (it's fun tho :D). Using Ibis paint too. For some time I'm having some issues when saving my finished pieces and keeping their quality. When I upload them to my Google Drive (I dont know other good alternatives yet) some of the pieces look less detailed :/
If it's okay, could you share some artist wisdom? I'm unsure how I should save my art, the cloud storage is because I don't want my stuff if my tablet breaks or the app stops working/glitches.
English is not my first language, sorry if anything is confusing. Have a great day! (Gender is absolutely shit, you're right)
I don't use cloud storage unfortunately, I usually save my pieces on my device and then upload them to Google Photos... Speaking of Google Photos, I think it's better than Drive for images. The storage is limited but if you're just saving your art it should be fine. Remember that by saving on cloud storage you're saving the entire artwork, if you just want to save the finished result download it as a PNG and upload it to Photos.
You don't seem to be the first person having trouble with cloud storage unfortunately, and as someone who's changed phones a lot and has lost a large amount of art, it sucks and it's basically inevitable. But what sucked more was losing my brushes, so remember to save the Qr codes of your custom brushes if anything because I don't think Cloud Storage saves those at all.
I recommend looking more into Image Resolution as a concept, it took me a bit to get it. I'm not explaining it here because I don't feel qualified to, instead I recommend looking it up yourself- ON THAT NOTE if you don't understand a concept in English always remember to look it up in your first original language. It seems obvious but it's very easy to forget. I know I do, constantly.

Udaan by InAmigos Foundation: Elevating Women, Empowering Futures

In the rapidly evolving socio-economic landscape of India, millions of women remain underserved by mainstream development efforts—not due to a lack of talent, but a lack of access. In response, Project Udaan, a flagship initiative by the InAmigos Foundation, emerges not merely as a program, but as a model of scalable women's empowerment.
Udaan—meaning “flight” in Hindi—represents the aspirations of rural and semi-urban women striving to break free from intergenerational limitations. By engineering opportunity and integrating sustainable socio-technical models, Udaan transforms potential into productivity and promise into progress.
Mission: Creating the Blueprint for Women’s Self-Reliance
At its core, Project Udaan seeks to:
Empower women with industry-aligned, income-generating skills
Foster micro-entrepreneurship rooted in local demand and resources
Facilitate financial and digital inclusion
Strengthen leadership, health, and rights-based awareness
Embed resilience through holistic community engagement
Each intervention is data-informed, impact-monitored, and custom-built for long-term sustainability—a hallmark of InAmigos Foundation’s field-tested grassroots methodology.
A Multi-Layered Model for Empowerment

Project Udaan is built upon a structured architecture that integrates training, enterprise, and technology to ensure sustainable outcomes. This model moves beyond skill development into livelihood generation and measurable socio-economic change.
1. Skill Development Infrastructure
The first layer of Udaan is a robust skill development framework that delivers localized, employment-focused education. Training modules are modular, scalable, and aligned with the socio-economic profiles of the target communities.
Core domains include:
Digital Literacy: Basic computing, mobile internet use, app navigation, and digital payment systems
Tailoring and Textile Production: Pattern making, machine stitching, finishing techniques, and indigenous craft techniques
Food Processing and Packaging: Pickle-making, spice grinding, home-based snack units, sustainable packaging
Salon and Beauty Skills: Basic grooming, hygiene standards, customer interaction, and hygiene protocols
Financial Literacy and Budgeting: Saving schemes, credit access, banking interfaces, micro-investments
Communication and Self-Presentation: Workplace confidence, customer handling, local language fluency
2. Microenterprise Enablement and Livelihood Incubation
To ensure that learning transitions into economic self-reliance, Udaan incorporates a post-training enterprise enablement process. It identifies local market demand and builds backward linkages to equip women to launch sustainable businesses.
The support ecosystem includes:
Access to seed capital via self-help group (SHG) networks, microfinance partners, and NGO grants
Distribution of startup kits such as sewing machines, kitchen equipment, or salon tools
Digital onboarding support for online marketplaces such as Amazon Saheli, Flipkart Samarth, and Meesho
Offline retail support through tie-ups with local haats, trade exhibitions, and cooperative stores
Licensing and certification where applicable for food safety or textile quality standards
3. Tech-Driven Monitoring and Impact Tracking
Transparency and precision are fundamental to Udaan’s growth. InAmigos Foundation employs its in-house Tech4Change platform to manage operations, monitor performance, and scale the intervention scientifically.
The platform allows:
Real-time monitoring of attendance, skill mastery, and certification via QR codes and mobile tracking
Impact evaluation using household income change, asset ownership, and healthcare uptake metrics
GIS-based mapping of intervention zones and visualization of under-reached areas
Predictive modeling through AI to identify at-risk participants and suggest personalized intervention strategies
Human-Centered, Community-Rooted
Empowerment is not merely a process of economic inclusion—it is a cultural and psychological shift. Project Udaan incorporates gender-sensitive design and community-first outreach to create lasting change.
Key interventions include:
Strengthening of SHG structures and women-led federations to serve as peer mentors
Family sensitization programs targeting male allies—fathers, husbands, brothers—to reduce resistance and build trust
Legal and rights-based awareness campaigns focused on menstrual hygiene, reproductive health, domestic violence laws, and maternal care
Measured Impact and Proven Scalability
Project Udaan has consistently delivered quantifiable outcomes at the grassroots level. As of the latest cycle:
Over 900 women have completed intensive training programs across 60 villages and 4 districts
Nearly 70 percent of participating women reported an average income increase of 30 to 60 percent within 9 months of program completion
420+ micro-enterprises have been launched, 180 of which are now self-sustaining and generating employment for others
More than 5,000 indirect beneficiaries—including children, elderly dependents, and second-generation SHG members—have experienced improved access to nutrition, education, and mobility
Over 20 institutional partnerships and corporate CSR collaborations have supported infrastructure, curriculum design, and digital enablement.
Partnership Opportunities: Driving Collective Impact
The InAmigos Foundation invites corporations, philanthropic institutions, and ecosystem enablers to co-create impact through structured partnerships.
Opportunities include:
Funding the establishment of skill hubs in high-need regions
Supporting enterprise starter kits and training batches through CSR allocations
Mentoring women entrepreneurs via employee volunteering and capacity-building workshops
Co-hosting exhibitions, market linkages, and rural entrepreneurship fairs
Enabling long-term research and impact analytics for policy influence
These partnerships offer direct ESG alignment, brand elevation, and access to inclusive value chains while contributing to a model that demonstrably works.
What Makes Project Udaan Unique?

Unlike one-size-fits-all skilling programs, Project Udaan is rooted in real-world constraints and community aspirations. It succeeds because it combines:
Skill training aligned with current and emerging market demand
Income-first design that integrates microenterprise creation and financial access
Localized community ownership that ensures sustainability and adoption
Tech-enabled operations that ensure transparency and iterative learning
Holistic empowerment encompassing economic, social, and psychological dimensions
By balancing professional training with emotional transformation and economic opportunity, Udaan represents a new blueprint for inclusive growth.
From Promise to Power
Project Udaan, driven by the InAmigos Foundation, proves that when equipped with tools, trust, and training, rural and semi-urban women are capable of becoming not just contributors, but catalysts for socio-economic renewal.
They don’t merely escape poverty—they design their own systems of progress. They don’t just participate—they lead.
Each sewing machine, digital training module, or microloan is not a transaction—it is a declaration of possibility.
This is not charity. This is infrastructure. This is equity, by design.
Udaan is not just a program. It is a platform for a new India.
