Greed!Keigo AU

(can become dabihawks or dabishigahawks)

Amestris was now a destroyed country, buried under a bigger city after thousands of years. Every person that once survived the Promised Day, grew old had their descendants, moved out and left the country to die.

(btw, the timeline stablishes before the Liberation battle, focusing on the time before Kurogiri was captured by the heroes and they had to leave near the mountains for some time.)

It all starts with an accident where Keigo was involved, a lot of people died and he became the only survivor of it by being induced in a coma.

In that time, he regained not only his memories as Greed, the homonculus who once fought his own father and was killed for it, but in return he absorbed the souls of the ones who died in that accident.

Keigo is confused and terrified. He is Hawks, but now he was also Greed, with the souls of innocent civilians inside of him, screaming in familiar agony and endless pain.

Before succumbing into despair, Keigo just accepts his fate. He didn't want to kick the bucket again just yet, but he couldn't go become a underground mafia boss or something like he was in Amestris. He lives with the momentary goal of discovering himself once again, meditation and some more things like that.

Long story short, the Comission gives him time to recover, a month vacation. Thing he gladly accepts without further question, without telling anyone, Keigo travels to the farthest forrest of Japan, near mountains and less civilization.

In there, Keigo learns that he can summon his ultimate shield at will, but his wings and feathers would become ash the moment he extends his carbonization to his torso (he can re grow his wings once he turns it off but it will take hours for his feathers to grow back).

He can also heal as quickly as he did back then, his stamina and physical force too. Just like when he was a complete homunculus.

So far, he didn't try dying, call him a coward, but he wasn't going to risk dying again just for an experiment where he know that the possibilities are 50/50. So, no thanks.

What he does with all that information? He trains. His balance is off whenever he doesn't have his heavy wings, his bones become more solid too, and now that he wouldn't have any feathers as swords, he has to train with his claws like before.

He didn't expect to find the League of Villains in that kind of place, and neither to be discovered by them. Before he could even escape, he gets cornered by them, Shigaraki tries to desintegrate him without question, but getting surprised by seeing that his quirk doesn't work on him?! And not even his teammates attacks affect him at all...

Dabi is as surprised as his boss by seeing how the man in front of him doesnt melt or burn with his cremation fire, which lead him to ask him the motive of his presence there.

'Kill first and ask later? Motherfucker.'

Keigo, would absolutely lie about that without a blink, but now that he was Greed... He couldn't do it.

So he tells them that he escaped from a death life situation and he was there to train himself; that wasn't lying, he was just hiding and molding the truth.

Keigo comes with the brightest idea for the moment... He knew that the Comission would send his feathery ass to the League to become a double agent and most likely die while doing it. So, by not revealing his new power, Kei- GREED, asks to join them.

He hates it. With a passion unbridled.

He stands, hair covering his squinting eyes, in the back room of Kuro’s bar. The hateful sound echoes around the walls, his fists clenching. Envy split his guts like the talons of the bird he’d love to strip bare of feathers. He stared, scornfully, hatefully, at the light filtering through from the bar. Like shadow puppets, he saw the air conditioning blow the idiot bird’s feathers, watched a spiky-haired head throw itself back in laughter. Disgusting.

How did he do that. How did he fill the room with such putrid joy, how did he talk so fluidly, so easily. Shigaraki wanted his head on a platter. He wanted his stupid, pretty lips on his. He’d feigned disintrest, when he’d first been met with their…mingling. The air had shifted so drastically, turned so thick with tension he’d wanted to take it in his hands and snap it. He’d wanted to bury himself in it, fully submerge himself and leave himself to it’s mercy.

He’d turned and left, instead. Both pairs of eyes had watched him go, before they’d turned back to eachother.

In games there were dialogue options. Suave, idiotic, aggressive, all laid out for him. In reality…

He sucks in a breath, turning with a furious snap to stalk his way further. He couldn’t stand the noise anymore.

No one was allowed into Tomura’s room.

If one could call the emptied attic of Kurogiri’s bar a room that was. It was mostly understandable; someone as rootless as Tomura occasionally craved such a thing as ownership and privacy.

They assumed, for the most part, that it was just another one of Tomura’s eccentricities. Like the fact that he’d only ever seriously watch and pay attention to tv shows sitting upside down, or how angry he got if you looked at him too long. He was just like that, childish and odd. He always had been.

So they never really questioned it any more than they questioned those things. It wasn’t worth the tantrum.

Tomura was glad for it.

No one needed to see the veritable panic room he’d built himself.

Stolen blankets lined the bottom, tens of mismatched pillows formed something like a fort, another blanket atop. Stuffed animals, mostly decaying and ripped, broken and missing their stuffing, laid among other such soft things. Pulling his jacket off, Tomura crawled inside.

His secret was, he thought, safe. He’d just kill anyone that found out, easy.

He pointedly ignores the fact that, every now and again, new things he certainly didn’t bring himself would crop up. Turns a blind eye to the things that seem to fix themselves. How was the soft light always working? Who knew. Not Tomura, who soon knew nothing at all, fast asleep in his own little world.
