lots of things about damgan ropeoffs pisses me off and should stay buried with the series but more than anything i am SICK of komatsuzaki rui im SICK of pretending his artstyle isn't repulsive to look at like dude you're not doing low budget niche psp visual novels anymore you are directing MULTIPLE PROJECTS and your ONE JOB is to draw and design characters and you are somehow even worse at it now than you were in 2010. swear to god we need to stop rewarding men for mediocrity just because we associate their ugly ass style with a popular series

im glad i wasnt into damgan ronpa as a young teen because the fandom wouldve done something negative to my brain but it was such a period of like mass hysteria i wish i could have observed it a little more

chihiro is really interesting to me bc i was online during Peak Dangan Ronpa years in 2012/13 and saw a lot of discussion of them (pronoun chosen for convenience) and i was thinking yesterday about probably a lot of how you react to them is based on what personal experiences you bring to the table with you🤔🤔like my personal interpretation of them (spoilers for damgan ronpa ahead i guess) was as a gnc boy with a deep seated complex(not the word im thinking of but it'll have to do) about societal standards of masculinity + being constantly told they're not 'manly' enough who took refuge in femininity and the act of being a girl, but who never particularly seemed to think of themself as a girl? and i think that's based a lot on my own experiences with gender and presentation and being trans (god, sidebar, thinking again about the motive throughline of 'your experiences are not universal' + 'what's unimaginable to you is reasonable for someone else') & about how probably a lot of trans kids in the 2010s saw chihiro not how i viewed them but as a trans girl outed after death and how that probably left a completely different taste in their mouth than it did mine.....(some of the characters even after chihiro's agab was revealed still used she/her pronouns for them, thinking about that too) i thought that chihiro's story was interesting and the alter ego angle was fun and enjoyed the whole thing but i think i understand where the warnings of transphobia come from too

{Sur un coup de tête} C'est ainsi que cela s'est décidé. Besoin de changer de paysage et de rythme. Elle n'est pas forcément très sympa la Bretagne en hiver, les maisons fraîches de l'été deviennent humides et glaciales en février ; la brise estivale qui tient la canicule au loin se transforme en tempête aux sons lugubres une fois l'hiver installé. Elle a aussi tendance à vous balancer des poignées de sable à la figure pendant que vous marchez sur la plage, savourant de pouvoir respirer à pleins poumons et sans masque - pour la première fois depuis longtemps - l'air salé. Écharpe douillette, gants fourrés de cachemire et capuche sont indispensables pour braver la tempête et arpenter la plage confortablement. Les goélands et les véliplanchistes s'en donnent à cœur joie dans les vagues et le vent, pendant que moi je grelote en imaginant la température de l'eau. Les mouettes semblent beaucoup s'amuser à passer d'un courant d'air à l'autre pour visiter le ciel et la plage, et je crois que j'aimerais bien essayer, pour voir.
