Damon Kyle Wayans Sr. (September 4, 1960) is a stand-up comedian, actor, writer, producer, and member of the Wayans family of entertainers. He performed as a comedian and actor throughout the 1980s, including a year-long stint on the sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live.

He was born in Harlem, the son of Elvira Alethia, a homemaker, singer, and social worker, and Howell Stouten Wayans, a supermarket manager. He has five sisters—Elvira, Vonnie, Nadia, Kim, and Diedra—and four brothers—Keenen, Marlon, Shawn, and Dwayne.

This attribute would be given to his character in My Wife and Kids, and his character in the cartoon series Waynehead. He attended Murry Bergtraum High School.

His true breakthrough came as a writer and performer on sketch comedy shows In Living Color from 1990 to 1992, Waynehead from 1996 to 1997, and Damon (1998).  A série Eu, a Patroa e as Crianças, trata-se de uma comédia dirigida pelos irmãos Wayans, onde mostra uma família que possui a esposa e mãe Janet Marie Kyle, também conhecida como Jay, o marido e pai Michael Richard Kyle, e os filhos, Kady, Claire e Junior. Eles vivem seus momentos cotidianos, havendo situações embaraçosas, engraçadas, bizarras e até mesmo tristes. 

Nota-se uma enorme diferença no tratamento de Michael Kyle com seus filhos Claire e Junior. Junior por ser homem e irmão mais velho, tem uma liberdade maior. Ao decorrer da série, mostra o mesmo saindo com várias garotas, falando constantemente de sexo, e seu pai sempre lhe dá conselhos e o apoia em determinadas situações sobre esse assunto. Já com sua filha Claire, a irmã do meio, ele é bem mais rígido. Ao falar de sexo ela é repreendida, o pai não a deixa ir a festas e ao trazer um garoto para casa e chama-lo de namorado, seu pai dá bastante sermão e passa muito tempo aflito até aceitar o relacionamento.  

A mãe é mais libertadora com a filha, mas ainda assim é demonstrado um pouco mais de repreensão para as filhas mulheres. A menor, chamada Kady, possui aquele namoradinho de infância onde apenas acontecem apertos de mão e beijo na bochecha. Por achar esse namoro inocente e puro, os pais aceitam numa boa essa relação. 

 Apesar de se tratar de uma comédia, é notável o machismo bastante presente na série. Porém ainda assim, a família mostra uma enorme união, mesmo contendo brigas constantes entre os três irmãos e brigas entre marido e mulher, mas nada fora da realidade. 

É interessante também ressaltar que apesar do seu erro de ser machista, o pai Michael Kyle é muito atencioso e amoroso com seus filhos. Sempre perguntando as notas, se precisam de algo, dá carinho, demonstra preocupação e sempre tenta aconselha-los de alguma maneira. A mãe também não é deixada de lado, porém Jay é mais ligada na categoria sentimental dos seus filhos. 

 Ao longo dos episódios, mostram diversos outros personagens secundários, porém de extrema importância para o desenvolvimento da série. São alguns deles, o namorado de Claire, a esposa de Junior e seus pais e o namorado de Kady. Todos os personagens possuem uma personalidade completamente diferente uns dos outros, o que acontece naturalmente nas famílias da realidade. Graças a isso é o que se dá o termo família, além da hierarquia estabelecida, a diversificação de jeitos e costumes é o que dá o diferencial do parentesco.
