currently reading: wildly divergent answers here: 1) King by Jonathan Eig: a masterpiece of a biography of MLK, can't recommend it enough. pairs really well with G-Man by Beverley Gage, which is an astonishing biography of J.Edgar Hoover. my pick to win the Pulitzer next year. 2) Peter Cabot Gets Lost by Cat Sebastian: mlm historic romance set in the 60s in New England. I'm like 2 pages in, cannot offer judgment, but I'm delighted at a historical not set in the goddamn regency. 3) so much fic for Check, Please!, A League of Their Own (tv), and football rpf.

currently watching: with my partner, Happy Valley and Top Chef. with my friends, weird sports youtube holes. with my cat, rewatching Shoresy.

Last movie I watched was Blue Jean, which was incredibly moving and made me so grateful to be gay and able to live my life the way I do now.

latest obsession: Architect’s Club by Arquiste, which is this delicious vanilla-gin fragrance. bright eyeliner. Mint cucumber lemonade from Balzac’s. the women’s world cup specifically thinking impure thoughts abt Lucy bronze and like 98% of the players. (I am but a weak and simple lesbian)

tall or short?: short. Often in heels, still short then.

student or worker?: worker. loved university, liked grad school, hated high school, glad it’s all over.

colour: palm springs orange-orange, deep pink, or emerald green. least favourite is definitively yellow, which is ironic in an alanis way given my name.

flower: tulips, but not real ones because they’d kill my cat who refuses to learn what things can and cannot be eaten.

food: jamaican patties with coco bread and Diet Coke because it’s summer. drinking rebujitos, inspired by my favourite restaurant in tronno, Bar Isabel. also eating all the ice cream I can get my hands on because it’s summer.

WIP: it's a wlw romance set in a beautiful utopia in which there's a unified professional league for women's hockey, which has started to come true in the last week, much to my amazement/excitement for the players. maybe I need to write more success for the Raptors and CANWNT into my stuff if I indeed have the gift of speaking sports dreams into existence.

She can’t even skate, even though she’s from Winnipeg, where the entire river’s a rink! Said they were more of a snowshoeing family, which I didn’t even know was an option. Because it’s not enough to read, no, she needs to go and pay money to listen to someone else do it!”

“No, I hate spending my evenings watching someone else read while I watch games on my phone with my headphones in, and the idea of doing that for the foreseeable future makes me want to drink bleach. I thought this was supposed to be a fun experiment, for fun people. Sloane Connolly is not a fun person. She is a schoolmarm from Little House on the freaking Prairie transplanted into the modern age.”

Currently watching/listening to: I was partway through The Case Study of Vanitas and Pandora Hearts until life got busy but I was hugely enjoying them so I’ll get back on them soon!

Currently reading: I’ve been making my way through No Longer Human by Dazai Osamu very slowly over the past few months because it’s proving to be a very self-revelatory novel for me - I’m really taking the time to savour it! I’m also reading Our Dreams at Dusk by Yuhki Kamatani (if you haven’t read it I absolutely recommend it!) and Tropic of the Sea by Satoshi Kon.

Current obsession: I’m back on the Ace Attorney train currently, it would seem... although I have also been playing a tonne of Genshin in preparation for a Kazuha banner!
