Hi hi hii!! It’s me again!!! I started wondering, how would the characters in Best Teacher Baek be in a beach day. Here’s my opinion: (sorry that this is long, also I’m using the names that appear in the webtoon, so sorry if you get confused on who I’m talking about😭)

[Lifeguards: Su Namgoong, Jun Dokgo]

As the Student Council President, I feel like Jun would rather watch and make sure that nobody is drowning nor fighting.

While on the other hand Su would be most likely watching over Suryong. It’s not because he doesn’t trust him and his ability to keep himself safe and others safe, it’s just because he doesn’t trust his way of doing stuff. But even with 10 people watching over him, he somehow manages to slip away and cause some commotion.

[Sandcastle Competition: Gang Heonwon, Cheon Wiji, Hyeok Yasu]

Cheon was just minding his business and making a sand castle when suddenly someone walked by and saw his sandcastle and they were praising him.

Gang and Hyeok overheard and they were like “we can do that too” and then that started the sandcastle competition. I’ll let you decided on who won

I imagine Yeomin and Iran to be good friends so I see them both chatting while lying down.

Iran hates how people gave her the title of The Sword Flower merely because of her looks.

Many people stay away from Yeomin due to the rumor that she was the thief behind several instances of theft in the girls dormitory. They’re very different but so similar at the same time that I can’t help but imagine them as friends.

Su has my girl Soyoung OVERWORKED. She needs a good rest🙏

[Walking Around: Geukryeom Mae, Soso Dang]

As the Head Supervisor, it’s Geukryeom’s duty to make sure everything is going well and is totally not giving threatening looks to students of the opposite gender that are getting too close to each other.

As the Vice President of the Student Council, it’s also Soso’s duty to make sure everything is going smoothly and is totally not walking around just to be able to look at Suryong in a bathing suit(I would do the same)

[Grill Duty: ILO Myeong, Sang-Ung Geo]

(ILO is capitalized cus it looks word as Ilo) When I first saw ILO I thought, “he can definitely cook” therefore he’s on grill duty making all the food. (He gets possessive over his grill, nobody is allowed to cook on it except for himself )

Sang-Ung provided the food, and I don’t mean a few cheap ingredients. I’m talking about a massive amount of expensive ingredients.

[Surfing/swimming: Yeonho Ak, Muheun Baek, Suryong Baek]

I’m fully convinced that Muheun can surf like a pro, you can’t tell me otherwise. Just look at him.

Yeonho is mostly swimming, he went to Muheun for some surfing tips but he still hasn’t got the hang of it. But he can swim for a long time

Suryong spent some time with his dad but then disappeared for like a few hours. Nobody knew where he went but he came back unharmed with a faint smell of blood and smoke.

This is my opinion on how the characters would be on a beach day! (Haven’t read the novel so some characters might be ooc😭)

For the sand castle competition I'm not sure who would win. I feel like Kang would either be pretty good at it or absolutely suck. So Cheon would be decent it looks nice but it isn't spectacular. Yasu I think wouldn't be very good at it. Very bad at it even.

Let's say Kang won. He'd be boisterous about it so much so that he wouldn't notice Yasu slipping away with a bucket...

He noticed when he got drenched. This ultimately resulted into a full water fight with the other students getting dragged in.

If the water fight happened before Suryong disappearance he would have dragged the teachers into the fight as well.

As for the tanning I feel like it would indeed be those three but not for the entire day Yu would try to tan but joined the boys in their sand building competition later on because 'she got got bored'.

Yeomin would be chilling in the water for some time before finding a parasol to sit under as I feel like she would be the type to burn instead of tan. After some time Yu joins her but she stays in the sun to tan.

As for Jeagal she would tan for most of the time. Getting up to grab some food or water, or to try to find a certain missing blue eyed trouble causing fellow.

Speaking of Suryong he disappeared for those few hours 'because he was helping a friend' When he did come back he did so by tackling Su into the water. So his return was announced with the following dialogue.

Series 8 Episode 2: Into the Dalek

Hihi everyone, today we’re gonna be checking out Into the Dalek. Deep Breath was an underwhelming start to the series for me, so I’m hoping Into the Dalek can show y’all why I love this season and Capaldi soso much. Let’s see if it can.

Ok so the first thing I like about this episode is that arguably more so that the series opener, Into the Dalek sets the groundwork for the arcs our characters are going to go on during this series. Not only is the Doctor’s “Am I a good man” question floated a lot in this episode, but this is the episode where controversial character Danny Pink is introduced. Now guess what suckers, I LIKE this character nyeheheh. Mainly because this season of Doctor Who is v much focused on Clara and the double life she leads, and the way that the Doctor and Danny are opposed reflects the way her two lives (the one on Earth and the one in the stars) are also opposed. This conflict works, and you can already see it in this episode even with Danny & the Doctor being nowhere close to meeting. Series 8 works so well because its characters are so consistent, and its themes are present in so many of its episodes. The leading characters feel so grounded and real, compared to the impossible girl-esque arcs of previous seasons, and I really think that was needed when attempting to handle a rougher Doctor. Into the Dalek is an episode that understands this very well, and so it gets a plus from me in this regard.

Another thing I do like about this episode is how it handles the Daleks. It’s no secret that Moffat’s stories about the Daleks, at the very least in 11’s run, weren’t up to the usual standard we expect from the most iconic villains in Doctor Who. It would have been easy for Moffat to decide to go back to the big bombastic Dalek series finales of old after those episodes, but instead he decided to take the Daleks in a unique direction that I appreciate. This story involves the Doctor attempting to convert a Dalek from evil to good by messing around with its insides, and the way it explores the relationship between the Doctor and the Daleks is amazingly done. The way Rusty becomes aware of the Doctor’s thoughts, sees the hatred in the Doctor’s mind of the Daleks, and then takes on that mantra. Dang. And of course we have the famous “You would make a good Dalek” line from Dalek that still haunts the Doctor to this day. You could argue it’s a repeated idea but I think that specific angle is explored in a unique way in this episode. What would even make a good Dalek? What makes a good person? Is the Doctor a good person? These are questions we ask ourselves constantly in this story and the villains lend themselves SO well to this idea.

And I am NOT DONE praising this episode because can we just step back and adore 12 and Clara’s dynamic for a second. It was set up in Deep Breath but you see the harsh yet knowledgeable Doctor vs the empathetic and trustworthy Clara clash SO hard in this story, and yet these opposites also compliment each other soso well. It’s another reason why I believe series 8 to be so good, because this character dynamic just works so well, especially as it develops with new events.

The only quarm I have with this episode is the resolution. Sure, I think the idea of the Doctor’s thoughts impacting the Dalek in the way they do is cool, but I don’t think it was communicated well enough to the audience that this is what was happening. I had to go back and rewatch the ending the day after I watched the episode to understand it, and it all happens so quickly that I don’t think viewers have the time to catch up.

TL:DR/Overview: Into the Dalek is a brilliant example of how Series 8 works so well. The character work being done in this story is awesome, the way the Daleks are incorporated into the themes of this story and its series is inspired, and it’s refreshing to see a series of Doctor Who have so many clear themes running through it. The ending was confusing though, so I feel it’s fair to say this is a strong A tier watch. Capaldi’s in full swing now gamers B)

after getting faked out with ghoul adam i actually have way more feelings about real adam than i was expecting. they did a good job with him! jake abel is very believable and he has a real personality and everything

okay i stopped in the middle of this ep two days ago and when i picked it back up the literal first line was "well not for nothing cas but the last time somebody looked at me like that i got laid". i loved that piece of bait so much when i was 13, that was up there for me with "blow me cas" and "cas get out of my ass""i was never in- your...". if it doesn't make the bait bracket i'm eating my own hair

that alley fight is way worse than i remembered, cas absolutely beats the shit out of dean. i feel less bad about the fight scene in the prisoner now that was basically tit for tat

sorry i make this comment basically every time i watch an episode but jared really cannot act when it comes time for a serious moment. fanfiction has done so much for me in terms of rehabilitating sam but when i rewatch i remember why i went from a s1-3 samgirl to a deangirl

i was like who wrote this ep and it was jeremy carver. his showrunner era sucked but dang the man can write an episode

okay now i realize why i don't remember these eps it's because they really do build that sense of tragedy very well so i blocked it out purgatory-style. i kind of don't want to watch the end of the season because i know it's going to make me genuinely sad (i'll take things i did not think i would be saying about supernatural in 2023, alex)
