FINALLY got around to redoing my old underswap napstablook / napstabot / dapperbot design :> i like them a whole lot. napstablook has never seemed very interested in being corporeal so i wanted to push the ghost element really hard, which was a lot of fun actually !

i think their arc would probably center around not trying to be someone they aren't, or maybe learning to make music just for their own enjoyment instead of for an audience and stepping down from the spotlight. they'd probably go back to being a ghost eventually, but they'd shift to using their remaining platform to help boost mettaton up instead!

Another Underswap take added to my collection.

We finally designed DapperBot’s new body! Aka: Napstablook. Aka: Poisond’s husband. 

Good lord this was fun to do. Trying to find a way to balance out DPB’s colors and capture how we imagined him personality wise was a bit of a challenge but turned out so good. All his flashing lights as well. He’s so full of LEDS that constantly move and glow, when he plays his music they move to the beat of the song. There is always constantly music playing softly around him when hes not preforming too and he’s always lightly moving to the beat. He’s all about his jams~ Such a cool DJ. 

We’ve come up with how his battle would go too. Hopefully we get to draw it out eventually or talk about it. Let’s just say it would be heavily rhythm based, which is one of my favorite types of gameplay/mechanics. 

We’re still perfecting a NEO design and you will get to see it eventually, we promise. Though with that promise comes not so happy things. So I don’t know if all of you will look forward to that.  

His LED mask is inspired off of the character Wrench from Watchdogs 2. I loved the changing emotes and thought it was perfect for DPB. But in the RB universe, DPB’s changing emote visor is based off of something else but that’s to be shared later in the story, and is more of a minor thing anyway.

I know I said I was going into art silence for a while but I couldn’t help it, I am in love with the way @solaris-starr designed this character. He is a glorious glowing musicbox and you can’t convince me that’s not the greatest idea ever, click here and look at him shine.

Have you ever thought of giving Napstabot a different name? I've seen some other Swap things giving Emobot names like Dapperbot and Discomatic and Napstabolt. Maybe you could name Napstabot something like Napstabeats or Dapperbolt or something like that

I had briefly considered it in the past but I’ve fully settled on Napstabot by now ahah

I’m not sure how well I’m wording this bc it’s currently late for me, but... along with wanting to keep more of UT Napstablook’s personality in my Swap version of them, I also wanted to keep the fact that they don’t seem interested in changing their identity. like, Mettaton and Mad Mew Mew’s stories revolve heavily around becoming corporeal, but Blooky never even mentions the subject of finding a body and just seems chill with their life of listening to spooktunes and eating ghost sandwiches.

so for Napstabot, even though they did get a body and kept up the secret of Undyne “creating” a robot with a soul because that’s what got her the royal scientist job, they still aren’t aiming to take on a whole new identity. that’s why they’re still a musician with a spooky aesthetic, still use they/them pronouns, and just modified their name rather than came up with a whole new one.

so, maybe I could’ve come up with a unique name for them, but I think what I’ve got is more in line with their overall character :>

(however I could see an in-universe scenario where someone suggests another name like that Napstabeats one and them being like “oh no... that’s actually pretty cool...... but it’s too late to change all my branding.........”)

Let’s go with this sweet enby of a robot! Everyone, this is my swap Napstablook aka Dapperbot! UwU ❤

Whose design I am like stupidly happy with, even tho they are in need of a little update, but overall the way they look still holds up!

And I can hear ya guys saying like “But Essy, isn’t swap napstablook supposed to be called Napstaton and be like a skater/party/dj dude etc?”, and I tell you fuck that! I have literally never liked that idea, like you do you but I aien’t going to go with that as it just feels wrong af to me xD like yes I get it, it’s supposed to be a swap and all that jazz, but I got a habit of going a completely different direction when it comes to my swaps, I do my own thing and way too often it ends up as something completely different than to usual canon/fanon!

So here we got Dapperbot, a name I choose as I just do not vibe at all with the name Napstaton, it just don’t work, so went with Dapperbot instead because dapper fancy hats is a Blooky thing and I overall kept as much from regular UT Blooky as I could with this enby, and I am very happy with how they turned out! They need some more work to make them more their own person, but I will get there eventually pft xD

Razzy was born into the family of W. D. Gaster, the local ferryman for Snowdin, and as such was used to poverty. He is five years older than Syrup, and as soon as his little brother was born, his ambitious side began to grow.

Their father was forgetful and often neglected the boys simply because he was so busy trying to keep them all fed. Razzy took charge of parenting himself and Syrup, and has yet to fully relinquish that role despite both of them being adults now.

As soon as he was old enough to leave school, Razzy joined the Royal Guard by storming up to Alphys’ home and demanding she fight him. This is how he gained his scars, but it’s also a fight that ended in a draw. Alphys let him become a full guard on the spot. Within three years he became the lieutenant thanks to tenacity and fierce fighting spirit. He gained the fear and respect of the citizens of Snowdin after years of ridicule, and thus was able to protect himself and his brother on his own.

Syrup grew up knowing nothing but the occasional word from his father and the tight but loving hold of his brother’s hand. He fell out of a tree when he was rather young, causing the scars on his face and the missing tooth, but as soon as Razzy had saved up enough money, they had the gold one installed to stop any possible damage to the bone there.

He knows the outside world is a terrible one, but as long as Razzy is there, he isn’t too afraid. He can’t speak much when out and about, only answering “yes, sir” and “no, sir” and “right away, sir” when Razzy instructs him to do something or asks a question. It isn’t that he’s cowed, but instead that he’s dealing with a terrible anxiety about others.

While the bullying in their childhood made Razzy buckle down and train even harder, it left Syrup with a “why try?” mentality that has persisted, coming off as lazy or apathetic when in actuality he’s very upset. He hasn’t even bothered to try picking out new shoes since he outgrew his old tennis shoes, so instead he runs around in their father’s old bath slippers that he dyed orange.

Now that they’ve moved out on their own, the boys’ use their home as a refuge from the harsh reality of their Underground. As soon as they get home from their various duties, Razzy rushes upstairs to change into more comfortable clothes, and Syrup collapses onto their second hand sofa.

When Razzy returns, he curls up next to his brother and they watch Dapperbot together after he cooks dinner (and he’s actually very good at it). Then they both head to bed, and while Syrup does read to his brother every night, it was so Razzy could help him practice his reading skills rather than as a comfort for himself.

Syrup got his habit of drinking maple syrup from one of the more desperate times in their childhood, seeing as that was the only thing in the house even remotely like food one day. Razzy was disgusted, but Syrup delighted in it and continues to this day.

Even with everything that’s happened, Syrup made something of himself as well. Being a gentle soul in a harsh world, he chose to become a physician, and rose to be the assistant to Dr. River, the Royal Scientist, to aid them in keeping their more biological experiments alive. Once they disappeared, however, he ceased active study or practice, retreating deeper into his anxiousness. It hurts Razzy’s soul to know his brilliant brother is isolating himself from a profession he loved so dearly.

“WOWIE your Majesty! I had a really fun time!” Sans’ enthusiastic voice echoed through the hall as he and the Queen walked down it. She held his hand, having not made a move to let go for their entire outing. Toriel’s smile made the golden hall shine brighter. She was wearing the outfit he loved to see her in the most: the one that she’d worn when they had gone crystal gazing for the first time. Since they were inside the palace itself, the Queen had forgone her usual cloak and the light from the hall’s windows highlighted every detail of her. Sans couldn’t stop looking at her.

“I did as well. I do so enjoy our time together, Sans.” She squeezed his hand. The familiar thrill of the physical contact shot through his bones like electricity. The prolonged hand holding was new, but not unwelcome. He wanted this moment to last forever.

Alas, they reached the throne room too soon for his liking. The golden flowers, which he would normally enjoy, were a sign that they would have to part. Sans sighed as they reached the threshold, ready to let go of her hand and return home. To his surprise, Toriel didn’t release her grip. In fact, she kept an iron hold on him as she held her place in the doorway. He didn’t have to look at her eyes to know that he was the object of her gaze.

Sans wasn’t sure if he was supposed to be flattered or scared to have her full attention like this. “Is something wrong, my Queen?”

Toriel was silent for a moment before she took hold of his other hand. She gently kneeled so that they could face each other eye to eye. Sans stood stock still, his eye lights close to bulging out of their sockets. He tried and failed to figure out what she was thinking when she spoke. “There is nothing wrong, Sans. Far from it, I should say.” The pad of her thumbs traced the bones of digits they touched. This sent a shiver down his spine. “This will come as no surprise to you, but I have noticed your dedication to the kingdom. And, to myself.” Toriel’s red eyes caught his blue eye lights. “I would like to formally appoint you as my personal knight. You would not be above Alphys in rank, but you would report directly to me.” A pink hue lit her cheeks. “That is, if you would like to accept such an offer.”

“I...would like that very much. My Queen.” Sans was too lost in her eyes to be excited for the opportunity of his lifetime. Inside their crimson depths were the patterns of stars he had only seen pictures of. If he wanted to, he could trace constellations and pick out galaxies as he stood there. Right now, though, they beckoned him closer and he had to obey. He could never willingly refuse his Queen. It was as their faces drew close together that he realized she was more than just Queen of the Underground.

Queen Toriel was actually sublime.

Their kiss was shy and soft in its touch, but its tenderness made Sans’ soul flutter within his ribcage. Toriel released one of his hands, only to find a place cradling the back of his head. Instinctively, he gently reached forward to stroke the fur that covered her cheek. It was soft against his digits, and combing through it proved to be immensely satisfying. The soft sound that came from his Queen confirmed that she enjoyed it as well. Sans could feel her lips press harder, and he followed suit.

They sat together kissing for what felt like forever. When they parted, he could hardly ask for more. His soul felt so full it was almost bursting. Toriel stood again, still not letting go of his hand. It was then that Sans noticed that she was now wearing a purplish blue sleeveless dress that came down to her knees and flowed like a river in Waterfall. It sparkled in the light from the throne room as he was lead to her living space. The Queen looked stunning in it, as she always did. The outfit wasn’t something he’d ever seen her wear before, but it had been something that Sans had only dreamed--

The realization suddenly hit him. He was dreaming! About the Queen! And they were--DOING things that he’d never dare to do while awake! His eye sockets burst open and Sans quickly sat up in his rocket bed. The pillow he had been clutching in his sleep was still in his arms. The indention in the shape of his face quickly told him all he needed to know about his dream. He threw the incriminating evidence across his room, not caring about the mess he made.

“PAPYRUS! OH MY GOD!” He shouted as he sped to his brother’s room. Papyrus sat up as soon as Sans entered, only to get bowled over as the smaller skeleton practically tackled him. “I’ve done something terrible!”

“What, did you step on a flower and you’re feeling guilty about it now?” The lazier skeleton’s voice droned. He faked a yawn to keep up the act that he’d actually been sleeping before Sans had barged in.

“This isn’t funny!” Sans huffed and sat back on the dingy mattress. He let Papyrus sit up before continuing. “It’s AWFUL and COMPLETELY not fair to Her Majesty that I--I dreamed about her.”

He couldn’t have heard that right. “You what.”

Sans’ face, which had been blue when he came into the room, turned a brighter cyan. “I--I dreamed about the Queen and myself…” He covered his face with his hands. “It was so dirty of me to do so! I’m so ashamed of myself!”

On the one hand, his brother really was worried about this dream of his and needed Papyrus as support through this. On the other, he wasn’t sure he really wanted to know the extent of whatever Sans thought of as dirty.

Papyrus’ loyalty to his brother outweighed whatever natural preservation instinct he had. “Okay, so what happened?”

“Well the Queen and I had gone on a date which I don’t remember the contents of but we were walking down the golden hall to the throne room and then we stopped just before it to part like we always do but then she took my other hand--we were holding hands the whole time to my shame--and knelt down and told me that she wanted me to be her knight and of course I said yes but then we started kissing and I’m fairly certain I kissed her first but she kissed me back as I’m certain she never would outside of a fantasy but getting back to the topic at hand then we parted and I was certain she was going to lead me into her home and she was wearing this lovely dress I’d seen in a human magazine and that’s when I realized I was dreaming and that I was taking advantage of the dream representation of the Queen and woke up to get you.” Sans said all of this without stopping for air. Not that he needed any, but his face flushed when he’d finished.

Papyrus tilted his head away and covered his face with a hand. Sans twisted the hem of his pajamas in his hands. “I know, you’re just as disappointed in me as I am in myself. Oh, how could I ever think about the Queen like that? We’re friends! Really good ones! All of my in-intentions with her have been towards deeping our rela--friendship! I swear!” Even from his the corner of his eye socket, Papyrus could see that his brother was glowing cyan in embarrassment.

Despite Sans’ worries, Papyrus was actually hiding his face so that his real expression wouldn’t show through. It had been a really long time since he’d last felt this giddy, but laughing NOW wouldn’t help anything. “Give me a minute.” He muttered before teleporting to his lab to safely laugh his head off. A number of scenarios had run through his mind, but none of them had lined up with what Sans had dreamt. He really should’ve known better. After successfully recovering, Papyrus teleported back with his neutral expression intact.

In the time it had taken for Papyrus to recover, Sans had already paced around the room several times. With his reappearance, the smaller skeleton had grabbed his brother’s sweatshirt  by its front. “Please don’t think badly of me, brother! I know that my dream has betrayed the friendship between myself and the Queen, but--” He was interrupted by a gentle but insistent pat on top of his skull.

“You really thought I’d think badly about you for a dream? Please, sans,” Papyrus winked down at his brother. “It’ll take a lot more than that to really make me think badly of the coolest brother in the underground.” Lazily, he snaked an arm around Sans and gave a gentle squeeze. “I know you, and I know that your intentions are pure, even if your dreams...aren’t.” Papyrus put his other arm around his brother and hugged him. The gesture was both to comfort Sans, but also keep from showing how dangerously close he was to laughing again. “But having dreams doesn’t mean you’re gonna act on them, right?”

Sans tightly returned the hug and spoke into his brother’s chest. “But of course! Why would I?”

I can think of a few really obvious reasons, Papyrus thought. Out loud, he said, “Right. So how about we sit and watch some Dapperbot until you feel sleepy again?”

Sans didn’t need any time to think about it. He beamed up at his brother’s slightly amused face. “That sounds wonderful!” If he knew the real reason why Papyrus had run off before, he wasn’t saying it. Whether it was because Sans had genuinely not noticed or because he was allowing his brother a chance to be the comforting one for once, it was hard to say.

For now, though, Papyrus spent some time sinking into the couch cushions and watching TV with his coolest bro. It was a little weird having their roles reversed, even for just a moment. A good kind of weird. With a little sigh and a slight grin, Papyrus briefly wondered if his dad would love to hear the news that his baby bones was growing up. Maybe he’d bring it up later.

So, what made you decide to make your own Dapperbot (Napstaton, I don't know that's why I call him and the majority of other people *shrugs shoulders) design instead of going with the canon or design? Don't get me wrong, I love your design, he looks so cute! But what made you decide to do that?

When we were first coming up with RB and making the characters, we began to notice that our Napsta was developing differently than how he typically is portrayed in other peoples Underswap. His personality was coming out more reserved, quiet, and not as confident. And as he developed more with us and got more rounded, we found that the original design just didn’t fit ours. So we decided to make our own, plus it seemed like a fun opportunity. 

We also decided to give him the “show name/DJ name” Dapperbot to make him separate from Underswaps original Napstaton. His personality and looks were a little different, so why not give him a different name too? But to the people who actually know him on a personal level, his name is Napstablook. Dapperbot is just a show name.

Ok first headcanon on my take on Underswap, if it was an actual game so would Berry’s battle in Snowdin be overly hard, as this boy will go full out instantly not holding back one bit in his fight against the human, and he won’t stop even if your HP reaches 1 like Papyrus do in UT, no he will literally end up killing you until you beat him by tiring him out and get him down to 1 HP, where he then will consider himself beaten and give you mercy. As this boy got a hard time when it comes holding back and will end up killing you.

Dogamy and Dogaressa, Snowdrakes father and mother and the Bunny boy and Girl are all swapped with one another in like a circle, Bunny boy the one thinking it’s weird how Bunny girl got a bun on a leash in Snowdin takes Dogamy and Dogaressa’s roles as guards as I do the whole Bunny guard thing in my swap, not sure how they would act like just yet tho, while Dogamy and Dogaressa takes the roles of Snowdrake’s father and mother, which means Dogamy would be the depressed comedian at the hotel while Dogaressa would be down in the labs as a amalagemente, while the snowdrake parents take the role of the two bunnies in Snowdin. With Snowdrake as the bun on the leash, but that leaves out whose Snowdrake’s role would be, and I have solved it by using a unused dog character by the name of Doge that is found in the art book.

Underswap Napstablook is named Dapperbot instead of Napstaton, as I never really like the whole skater version original Underswap have so went and made my own take, where they are more like their original self and when they get their more human looking robot body they got a suit and a top hat.

Neither of the skeleton brothers wants up or wants to be an ambassador in a true pacifist, neither do Stabby aka Chara, instead the role ends up on Floppy aka Asriel, since he is the prince of the underground and wants the responsibility, though Stretch do help him out allot with advice etc so he kinda becomes Floppy’s advisor.

In the underground, most monsters fears Braid aka Toriel allot, they find her very cold and she have a habit of isolating herself, which is a swap on how UT Asgore have it where people really adore him and don’t find him scary at all. While in the ruins Toriel is pretty feared by the other monsters, which I have made carry over to the swap, which makes it so that Fluffy, swap Asgore, is very loved by the monsters in the ruins.

Instead of starting up a school up on the surface Fluffy starts a flower shop.

Stabby do not get adopted by Fluffy or Braid, instead they end up getting adopted by Stretch, as he has promised to help them out with their issues etc.

Instead of a plushie so is swap temmie, aka Bob, an actual dead cat because the whole plushie brought to life neve made any frikking sense to me. Heavily inspired by Grinningkitten I think their name is. 

Bob got a serious grudge against Floppy, as they feel Floppy replaced them as Braid’s child and in turn torments him allot, like they have made him believe that his dad, who is unaware he even exist, would hate and despise him etc. Floppy is pretty much the only person Bob is actually mean and cruel towards, still working on Bob actually so some things with them might change.

The dog guards are all swapped with various bunnies in Snowdin, one of them is Doggo been swapped with the bunny shopkeeper, and he is nicknamed Smokie and he would be selling dry meat, dog treats, bones and cigarettes. 

Stretch hoard gloves instead of socks.

Berry and Marks, aka Alphys, used to be fuck buddies before she grew a crush on Frecks, aka Undyne.

In the so called judgement battle against Stretch in the Judgement hall, he will do a UT Papyrus and instantly show the human mercy. But unlike Papyrus he will avoid any attacks thrown his way but still refusing to attack while he keeps trying to persuade the human to stop, he will eventually after a very, very long time get tired and end up getting killed. The only time he actually hurts and kills Stabby is on their final genocide run, where Stabby decides to accept his mercy to see what will happen, and ends up in a hug with him where he then ends up piercing them both with a bone attack, while begging them to stop once more and other stuff which finally gets through to them and they reset one final time. Which is based on a pic and headcanon by proshpriggs.

Fluffy unlike UT Toriel, is willing to forgive Braid for her actions, or well not really forgive but more like accept and move on dunno how to explain, which Braid refuse as she will never forgive herself for the things she done and she do not need his pity.

Frecks instead of liking anime/manga is obsessed with more American like cartoons and comics, superheroes etc, and her fave and ultimate fictional crush is DogWoman. As American comics etc is kinda the swap of anime/manga like their opposite. 

Marks still likes anime/manga but is afraid Frecks don’t as she has mentioned disliking it, so she instead hides it in hope’s Frecks won’t find out.

Stretch and Berry have tried to play matchmaker for Frecks and Marks but it always fails as both of them are disaster gays, Frecks once shoved a bunch of rocks into her mouth in a gay panic.

Marks got a serious stutter caused by an old injury, which also made her lose her right eye, which she hates so much she just wants to be able to talk normally.

In battle with her on a pacifist runetc instead of not feeling up to it/forgetting the whole story about thesuffering and so on of the monsters etc like UT Undyne she instead getsfrustrated with herself as she keeps on stuttering allot trying to tell it soshe says fuck it instead and attacks

Fluffy actually steps outside the ruins doors to hang out with Stretch, as unlike UT Toriel he don’t have the whole insisting on staying behind the door thing going.

Fluffy have no idea he got a son as Floppy was born after he went to live in the ruins.

Now that we have seen Icepants, I would like to know if he sell icecream, or maybe a Steak in the shape of Dapperbot's face ?

More like icecream in the shape of Dapperbot’s face~ It has gumball headphones and “screen.” They don’t always come out perfect though…
