Thinking about the funny age misconceptions that would occur in TSC due to immortality & faerie

Like Tessa and Lucie def had a period where they were mistaken for twins when out in public together

Emma and Julian are out to lunch with Tessa and Jem and someone calls “Carstairs” for an order and both Emma and Jem stand up out of habit but then the staff thinks that they are the one’s who are married (bc they look nothing alike)

Poor Clary would be triggered bc she and Ash don’t look that far apart in age to begin with combined with the fact that Ash is way taller than her someone would mistake Clary for being Ash’s younger sister 😭

Tessa eternally looks like a college kid and Kit will be 18 so some mundane could def mistake Tessa for being Kit’s girlfriend if they saw Kit hugging her 😭

There's something so beautiful and so devastating about parabatai. Your life partner that you get to share your soul with. But losing them is like losing yourself, and you'll always feel empty after. SAD PARABATAI HURT ME.

Like wdym Jem will never feel what its like to be Parabatai again with Will? Wdym one Parabatai will always die first and the other will always feel it??

It's so funny to me, cause I always think about Johnny Rook rolling in his grave, cause his son is now a full Shadowhunter with runes, he lives with an ex-shadowhunter and a warlock, has a Shadowhunter sister and is IN LOVE WITH A SHADOWHUNTER BAHHAHAHAHA

yes its been five years but i am not over emma hallucinating that she severed all parabatai bonds while coming back from thule, just to turn and see jem bleeding as he asks "emma, emma how could you?" i mean WHAT a perfect scene to show how powerful the parabatai bond is. throughout tda the bond becomes an antagonist as julian and emma struggle against it, and its hard to remember that its actually a beautiful way to connect two souls. one of my favorite parts of the shadowhunters books is how cassie shows how powerful and overwhelming platonic love can be, and will and jem are the embodiment of that. the bond isnt just a symbol of their love but the physical manifestation of its endurance, and thats why the seelie queens proposal to break all bonds is so tragic. to take away that kind of connection is sacrilege, even at the cost of romantic love. one is not greater than the other, and thats one of the subtle but beautifully written themes threading through tda.
