EU/Canon Character Pairs
For fun - characters from the old EU and canon I think are similar in some way and some are more superficial than others (since I’m not necessarily familiar with all these EU characters). I imagine them drawn together in pairs in the same way as the Legacy comic covers of Adam Hughes, but that's for good artists to do.
Ania Solo & Rey
Galaxy-roaming scavengers.
Vergere & Ezra Bridger
Jedi lost somewhere far, far away.
(You know exactly why he's here)
Dass Jennir & Kanan Jarrus
Jedi forced to adapt to the dark times.
Soontir Fel & Soren Keize
Respected Imperial aces.
Mirta Gev & Sabine Wren
Mandalorian women with complicated family history.
Ferus Olin & Cal Kestis
Padawans on the run.
(As for Jedi Survivor, I’d pair that Cal fighting on his alone against impossible odds with Kerra Holt.)
Nomi Sunrider & Avar Kriss
Exceptional Jedi from long ago.
Ysanne Isard & Gideon
Imperial warlords and knowledgeable schemers.
Winter Celchu & Vel Sartha
Agents of the early rebellion.
Celeste Morne & Dagan Gera
Jedi of old, sealed away to receive a rude awakening in the future.
Ordo Skirata & Hunter
Leaders of a family of unique clones.
Fenn Shysa & Bo–Katan Kryze
Mandalorian leaders fighting against Imperial occupation.
Stormtroopers of the Fel Empire & First Order Stomtroopers
Soldiers of the future.
Garm Bel Iblis & Saw Gerrera
Opposed to Mon Mothma and fighting their own war against the Empire.
Fordo & Rex
Captains with Jaig eyes.
Jacen Solo & Ben Solo
Descendants of Anakin Skywalker, seduced to follow the footsteps of Darth Vader.
Natasi Daala & Ellian Zahra
Tarkin’s failed protégés.
Lorana Jinzler & Shin Hati
Dutiful apprentices involved with Thrawn.
Hanharr & Krrsantan
Powerful, fierce and estranged from their people.
Tsavong Lah & Grievous
Proud warriors and commanders with a grudge against Jedi.
The Hand of Judgment & Clone Force 99
Deserters from the Empire.
Pors Tonith & Trench
Brilliant Separatist commanders foiled by Anakin Skywalker.
Warb Null & Marrok
Armored tools of the dark side.
Bria Tharen & Qi’ra
Han Solo’s first love.
AG-37 & IG-11
More than just assassin droids.
The Imperial Knights & The Inquisitors
Force-wielding servants of the Empire.
C-3PX & 0-0-0
Protocol droids specialized in a different form of human/cyborg relations.

So I don't know if this will get to the right people or even to the SW community in general but I wanted to say that in my opinion I think we need to stop overlooking the jedi Dass Jennir. I mean not only is he a beast but he's also just as charismatic and smooth as Han Solo. Let's make a script for a miniseries for this guy y'all🔥🔥
Currently reading EU books about his story, here's a couple pics:

"If you can't walk away from a fight, take control of it. Force the enemy to engage you on your terms, for a rash attack is an unbalanced attack, and thus the outcome of a battle may be decided before the first blow is struck. But don't forget—the Force is a powerful ally." - Dass Jennir's Master

So I just finished up the Star wars dark times series and man, what a trip. This is probably one of my favourite stories set between episode 3 and 4 (the best timeframe for star wars content).
The story is about Jedi Master Dass Jennir and his quest to not get murdered to death by darth vader while going full ronin on the galaxy. One of my favourite points about Jennir is that he's specifically pointed out as being a sub par jedi by all accounts. He's no anakin and were he to face off against anyone of vaders calibre he'd fair about as well as luke did in empire but what's cool to see is the difference in skill between Jennir and any poor fool without the force on their side. That's where we get the absolutely badass reference to sanjuro in one of the few duels we see Jennir get into.(Dark times - blue harvest issue #5)
Tumblr media
This was doin' visions before visions was visions. And it really does show that no matter how low tier the jedi they are still massively beyond even the best non-force sensitive.
Along with Jennir we get the one and only Bomo "You drew first blood, not me" Greenbark. This guy meets a jedi and his first instinct is pull out a scythe and go "bring it bitch".
Tumblr media
If Korr hadn't already taken the title this guy would totally be the rambo of star wars.
This is a great standalone*(a certain character from the kotor comic shows up for an issue you might wanna read that first if you really feel the need to not get spoiled on anything but it's non intrusive enough that it won't really impact the experience) story that any fan of star wars will find enjoyment in. Seek it out legally or illegally (I won't tell ;))) and give it a read.
That's all.
