Can we just talk about how cute and sweet all the siblings' meetings are? I mean, not [Viktor] and Luther last episode, but Five and [Viktor], first of all, was sweet. He was gentle and softly explained (sort of) who he was and whatnot. And how he didn't tell him that HE was the cause of the apocalypse. (Which could be argued that he should've, and it leads to later problems, but that's okay. He was just looking out for [Viktor]). He looked so happy to see [Viktor], too. And then Klaus and Allison??? They were so happy to see each other! I mean, Allison jumped into the pool with her dress on to hug Klaus. And the playful banter 😭

And how Klaus IMMEDIATELY gets Raymond out??? Also, I think it is so funny how he goes, "I told you I had friends in high places."

Like, he emphasizes high because he used Ben, who's dead 😂😭

Speaking of reunions, Klaus and Dave 😭 That's all 😭

The first thing Klaus took from that box was Dave’s dog tags and they just don’t talk about it. Viktor has trouble committing to relationships and this problem is not further elaborated upon. Ray’s abandonment is used as a dig against Allison. Luther seems to have given up searching for Sloane and only mentions her once. Diego and Lila are not content with family life and an unnecessary love triangle is formed between them and Five. The writers absolutely had no interest writing captivating personal drama or stakes for the Hargreeves in their final season.

the fact that Luther, Allison, Klaus, AND Viktor ALL found their soulmates in different timelines/time periods through their time traveling is just SO juicy and could’ve been such a point of emotional conflict in this last season??? If all the timelines need to be destroyed but that would mean erasing the people they fell in love with?? erasing Sloane and Ray and Dave and Sissy?? Characters who actually were important to the seasons they appeared in, and who were so crucial to the Umbrellas’ character development?? Why not honor them and those incredible relationships in the swan song??

Instead, they did … that.

and viktor and sissy match each other’s freak to a degree that has the public cheering with overwhelming enthusiasm

bonus: reginald matched abigail’s freak to the degree that not only poses a threat to the public but also frightened abigail so much she ended the world over it

why the FUCK did they include a shot in ep1 of Klaus pulling his dog tags out of the box of artifacts and staring at them longingly (why the fuck did he lose them in the first place? the same reason his tattoos disappeared? because steve blackman said 'fuck it'?) but then HE DOESN'T EVEN WEAR THEM FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON????

like, it's one thing to forget about a character's entire existence (rip Eudora Patch) but it's like. so unbelievably disrespectful to purposefully include an acknowledgement of one of the most important people in klaus' life and then just.......throw it to the wayside?? it genuinely would have hurt LESS if they didn't even do anything for Dave in the first place.

More specifically about how he has been waiting so long to die and not be kicked out of Heaven again, finally able to see Dave again and be with him forever. But now he won’t even get the chance to go to Heaven, and Dave won’t remember who he is.

I’m actually thankful for Umbrella Academy season 4 because it was SO bad that previously dormant fan fic writers are so enraged and disgusted with the ending that they’re coming out of hibernation and starting to write fics again.

Don’t you just love it when fictional characters find true love, like the kind of love that helps to shape and define their arcs and serves as their chief motivation, and then 1 season later, those love interests disappear and those same characters are like “oh yeah, they’re not here anymore, oh well.”
