So @chickenbyday asked me the other day what i thought the set of circumstances would have to be for kevin day to ever do drag...and i got a bit carried away so if ur curious I've put my thoughts under the cut and if anyone wants to write this please take this as a sign!!!!

- Poor sheltered Kevin has literally never come into contact with Drag before, definitely not something Tetsuji would bother to educate them on. Enter one Nicholas Hemmick. One of his friends from his drama improv class is doing a drag show in Columbia and Nicky being the great friend he is drags all the monsters along to watch it.

- Kevin is like sure whatever if there's a bar I'll be there. And its a fucking revelation to Kevin 'its better to be straight' Day to see these men get up on stage looking so beautiful and being so confident, dressed as women, which is not something Kevin even knew was a thing.

- Its even more of a revelation when he meets them all after the show and they're out of their show makeup/clothes and they're just normal guys who like a drink and are interested in what he has to say about the history of men dressing up as women in Shakespearean plays etc.

- so he goes home that night and it sticks with him, he does some research about the history of drag, starts learning about ballroom culture and the queer scenes of the 80s and 90s

- A few weeks later he runs into one of the drag queens on campus who invite him to another show. He doesn't know why but he keeps it to himself, doesn't mention it to the others. He goes alone, says he's meeting Thea but really he's going to the show and its just as good if not better now he knows what's happening and why its happening.

- Once again he stays after, chats with everyone, tells them some fun facts that he found out in his research and they love him for his autistic rizz.

- So it keeps happening, they keep inviting him, he keeps making up elaborate excuses about where he's going but little does he know Nicky's friend told Nicky and Nicky has been good and keeping it to himself because he knew there was something a little fruity about Kevin Day and he'll be damned if he ruins it for him so he keeps his mouth shut

- Eventually one of them mentions casually that they would totally be down for doing Kevin's makeup for him, maybe put a wig on him if he wants. Kevin freezes, he's thought about it obviously but this is different and he is so scared but he wants to so badly.

- And he does it. and he loves it so much. its the most free he's ever felt. looking in the mirror is more exciting than its ever been.

- eventually months later, much to their confusion Kevin invites the monsters to a show and they are in shock to see kevin day in full drag on stage performing (later that night, andrew and neil fuck about how good kevin looks in drag)

- and thats the story of how kevin day became a drag queen.

Alright ok, I finally read through your last fic the way god intended (with my full attention, I skimmed it the first time) and have come back with my thoughts and feelings

First off, masterpiece, absolutely wonderful, 10/10 will definitely read it again and again. I am also a sucker for vampires, my dearest beloved troupe. I also wanna mention that when I skimmed the fic, I skimmed all the wrong parts. I saw the line "I thought you were hungry" and ran with the idea that Dani was completely aware of the events about to unfold. Tickle me surprised when I read the ending. But rereading it made so much more sense, and I've learned my lesson not to read bits and pieces.

But I also genuinely love the idea that the sentence "I thought you were hungry" can be interpreted in both ways. It's a double entendre and I love it. Foreshadowing in the best way. And you can view what Jorge said, "Like the snack that you are" in a similar way. I adore details like that so so much. (I do it a lot myself so I gotta point it out)

I also love that you made all the warnings and signs that Jorge was a vampire subtle instead of overly obvious. Because yes, for a person who doesn't even know his bf being a vampire was a possibility, those could all clearly be normal things, especially in these specific. I always like a subtle vampire as opposed to it being kinda overly obvious. Like yes, pls, make it extremely possible for a vampire to completely blend in, it's so much fun that way (but I also know the inverse is just as fun for the author cause it's a challenge, but that's neither here nor there)

My previous point is emphasized by the fact that Dani enjoys feeling akin to prey. Like babes, if only you knew you were the actual prey. And again with the continued double entendres. Truly, they had me screaming cause Dani IF ONLY YOU KNEW WHAT HE COULD AND WILL DO. Like the words "I want you to feed from me" genuinely made me do a lap around my living room cause Dani you are right there. Right there on the tip of the cliff, about to jump off into vampire sea, and oh, was he about to jump.

Also the question, the "Can I?" CAUSE AHHH ofc he asked, but ofc the context for that question wasn't there. I mean I feel like you implied Jorge's vampire switch just got turned on the second Dani said the unintentional consent to bite him so we get this might be an addled brain here for Jorge (and then ofc Dani saying stop being what pulls him out of it again like wow cool thanks, I'm so very normal about this). And Dani's unending trust for Jorge making him agree without even knowing to what. Screaming crying wtf. And the continued trust after the bite WAHHH OMG I HATE THEM. Vampires and feeling so terribly guilty about drinking from people they care about is an idea I hold near and dear to my heart.

(If my partner doesn't tell me I'm their favorite drug, I don't want them)

Oh I giggled when I read you skimmed the wrong parts. (I do that too sometimes) And I totally agree. I love the double meanings of those phrases, especially in that context. Like eat me, feed from me, suck me. So making a "misunderstanding" based on that was one of the fun parts for me. It is like the melt between human and vampire because for both those phares exist but mean something different. (and vampire jorge knows them in human context too btw nevermind) I'm kind of a nerd when it comes to analysis and double meaning and all that so it makes me so happy that you pointed that out. And like you said - Dani thinking he's the prey and then he's the ACTUAL PREY. I'm sorry. I know I wrote this BUT THINK ABOUT IT. Half the time I was writing this the concept in my head was "Dani thinks he's getting a blowjob/ eaten out on the kitchen counter... *BOOM* blood lost." I mostly have silly concept that I then write as serious as possible

OOOOH subtle vampirism is sooo good! Don't get me wrong, fang drop and just straight up showing it, hits hard. But I adore hiding it and having a more careful approach. Maybe a little bit insecurity about it towards a human partner? What do you think? I like the difference in it. There's like the side of the forcefully, bloody vampire aspects and the soft, almost silent side of hiding it. And Box mixed together is like AAAAAAAAAH..... And then the fear of being tossed away by their human partner and them being scared. I LOVE THOSE. I really want to write something like that in the 2nd chapter!

Okay *forehead kiss* that's it. I love you. I love it when people point out stuff I implied but not specifically stated LIKE YES. YOU GET IT. HOLY SHIT YOH GET MY WRITING. *excited little girl scream* okay the moment when Dani agrees after the "can I?" is TOTALLY where the vampire takes over. Like before he was already pulled in but then there's no stopping him anymore.

The original version was actually without that. So Jorge starts kissing down Dani's neck after those two sided comments and he just bites down. But then I reread it and especially with the struggles (I had written more fear from Dani in that moment too) it just seemed too much. And it made the trust afterwards seem unrealistic. So it just didn't add up. (I mean obviously the other alternative would have been Dani escaping - unrealistic because of the blood loss - or him being scared but I couldn't bring myself to write that without writing it in one go with them making up and I didn't had the time for that) and I tamed it down and added the "unknowing consent" part to make it make sense.

HAHA SAAAME. Vampires feeling guilty for drinking/ hurting their loved ones vs. the loved ones still loving them and wanting to care about them and still trusting them. I absolutely love this slight self hate despite acceptance for what they are (vampires/ supernatural creatures in general) but they feel guilty for what they are forced to do. And then the loved one juts NOT caring. Like not negatively caring. Caring more in a "I need to know what you are to take care of you" way. It's so dear to me. I need to write more about that.

yes, i would think so. probably the intimidating sort of attraction, kallista spent a lot of years creating an appearance for herself to be beautiful albeit unapproachable, or rather, untouchable

it depends on who you ask honestly, but if you ask me it would be her smile, not the one she gives to everyone, but her true smile that doesn't show itself very often

usually, yes, she smells like strawberries and lillies and occasionally the smell of metal aka blood

before she got married? hell no, she was very touch adverse and uninterested in anything sexual including kissing. but she's definitely had more practice after an millennia of being married.

for the rare times she's sexually frustrated, it's all mostly about pulling the most noises out of her lover, pleasing them, asserting control over the situation.

when she's softer so are her kisses, less tongue and teeth. she kisses like she’s trying to gently pour all of her love into you with just a tentative touch of her lips on yours.

she views it as something with a lot of emotional weight, and prefers to know a person before she’s interested in them sexually. before her marriage, there was no one who actually was patient and understanding of her feelings and desire or lack there of

verbal communication for sure, which is funny way to get flustered but she’s used to people beating around the bush with their feelings towards her, platonically or not. so when you’re verbally saying what you’re feelings are for her, she absolutely melts at not only the honesty but the vulnerability of everything. she rarely let’s herself be vulnerable, it’s like offering someone her heart and handing them a dagger and someone doing that so openly …

she’s spent so much of her life hiding her feelings and getting the same in return, so it really means a lot to her.

wow this is genuinely so hard because this fandom is truly blessed with some of the best writers, including your good self, but aside from you I'd say currently I'm loving anything by ao3 user coffexandxangst, their latest kandriel was an absolute delight. But, I'd be remiss not to shout out their fic 'Not Yours To Bleed', it has me on the edge of my seat every time it updates.

b10: what is the best plot twist you've ever seen?

I don't know..... I know I've definitely read some but I can't think of a single fic that stands out right now...... my memory is so bad I'm sorry!!

c4: what thing that fandom loves do you actually kind of hate? why?

So. I want to preface this by saying, you do you, this is just my opinion. But, I really don't get Kevaaron 🫣 I think Kate and Aaron are such a fantastic canon relationship and I struggle reading people break them up for no real reason other than to shove Kevin in the way. Now Katekevaaron....that's a different story 👀👀

d10: What is one story idea you really want to read but no one has written yet?

So many, so so many. But, I'm gonna choose one that I wish I had the capability to write. I'd love to read a really long detailed fic from Thea's pov, detailing the entirety of her relationship with Kevin including post-canon exploration of them healing together and becoming parents.
