<LISTEN TO THE SONG HERE!>
It was dark, and you were outside in the town square, sitting on a chair as you busked with some strangers.
"Fly me to the moon," you sang, smiling at the boy grinning at you through the crowd, unable to help the charisma that showed while you sang the song.
Throughout the song, Younghyun was sure that he fell for you all over again, his eyes watching you fondly. He had met you through Jae, who had introduced you as 'my sister's best friend'. You were around Sungjin's age, and you absolutely adored their music.
You had also mentioned that Dowoon was your favorite, because he was the youngest and cute as hell. Brian hand't been to happy about that conversation.
You finished the song off beautifully, staring at Brian as you sang in a gorgeous honey-voice.
"I," You smiled at him softly.
"Love," You tilted your head cutely.
"You..." You winked at him with a grin, bowing as the people around started applauding your performance.
"Waaah. Noona, that was great!" Younghyun said, welcoming you back with a hug and kiss to your cheek.
You giggled, scrunching up your face as his lips touched your cheek before he pulled away, your arms wrapping around his torso.
"Thank you."
He smiled at you stupidly, taking your hand and leading you onto one of the carts that were driving around the place, asking the driver to take you back to your hotel.
You leaned against the back of the cart as Brian leaned against the car-railing, looking out at the brightly illuminated city that was full of life and buzzing with activity.
You smiled, leaning up and off of the back of the cart to give him a warm back hug, leaning your cheek against him and sighing contentedly.
"What? You can't be tired already, can you?" He asked playfully, turning around to wrap his arms around your waist, looking down at you lovingly.
You shook your head with a pout, leaning your chin on his chest. “Not at all. I just felt like giving the guy I like a hug."
He snickered, pecking your lips and pulling away with a shit eating grin. "I thought you loved me, noona?"
"Eat shit, you brat—" You huffed angrily at him, turning away with a pout.
“Noona wait, I was kidding!"
•••
You put the key to your hotel in the keyhole, unlocking the door with a giant koala clinging to you, his head nuzzled into your shoulder. You hung up the keys and lightly pushed Younghyun off to hang up your coat. He made sure to remove his coat, too, the turtleneck he was wearing showing just the tips of his fingers.
You had managed to kick off your shoes before Brian grabbed you again, his own shoes somewhere in the corner of the room. You tried to get him off as you started nearing the bed, huffing and puffing with your effort. You turned around suddenly, yelling at him tiredly before squealing as your knees hit the back of the bed, in turn making you loose your footing.
"오모!—" You grunted as you landed on your back, Younghyun hovering over you. He watched you with slowly dilating pupils. You chuckled, leaning up to kiss him slowly, pulling away just as you noticed him trying to deepen the kiss, making him chase after you hastily. He whined when you 'tsked' at him, smirking playfully when you pushed him off and moved further up the bed.
"Not now, Foxy. I'm tired." He pouted at you childishly, nevertheless getting in next to you and wrapping himself around you. He sighed comfortably, pressing his nose into the nook of your neck before softly singing the same song from the busking station to you. You closed your eyes blissfully, smiling as you heard him whisper: 'I, love, you...'
You turned around, kissing his nose and brushing a strand of hair from his face.
"I love you too, my little fox." He smiled at you, kissing you before making you nuzzle your head under his chin, playing with your hair until the two of you fell asleep.

fluffy hours open uh after an exhausting day i just want to lay down with jae and his softest hoodies and have him run his fingers through my hair or the other way around and just talk about nothing and everything until we fall asleep :( he'd be so soft and giggly like during his vlives and i'm so far up my soft hours now
Omg this is so cute 🥺️ jae would definitely sacrifice his most prized hoodie for you and I think he’d find matching hoodies rlly cute. After watching him stream and play games on the side he’d take his earphones off and carrying off to his bed and just cuddle cuz he’s mentally tired from playing Valorant and Rust for 3 hours straight 😂
Y’all would be talking and listening to each other's day, he’d listen to you talk about work or school and whatever is on your mind and he’d do the same talking about maybe a new eaj project or something he’s doing with the boys. Ik Jae like to make fun of his boys and call them weird but I’m pretty sure he’d just spew all the things to you saying stuff like “Brian is so cool he wrote the hook is only an hour.”, “Dowoon is always so hardworking whenever I see him in the practice room.” , “Omg the other day Sungjin and Wonpil were blah blah blah” Probably to the point where you fall asleep cuz of his calming voice and being in his warm embrace for a while 💗.
It might take about a few more minutes of bragging about his boys to realize you’ve been out cold and quietly snoring. Gosh he’d find you just the cutest and try to hold back from giving thousands of kisses on your face.

‘’mr. coolest guy’’
hey, hey!
I’m back with a scenario requested by @deardayjm. I hope you don’t mind that I did it as headcanons, and that you will enjoy reading it!
The request:
hi! can i request for a scenario with jae where he likes his best friend (reader) and the reader likes him too but he didn’t know then suddenly somebody told him that brian likes the reader too so he becomes so overprotective and jealous he ends up confessing to the reader? hehe
Tumblr media
Pairing: Jae x gender neutral!reader
Genre: fluff, highschool!au, friends to lovers!au
Words: 1,486
Warnings: a few light curse words
• "That's cheating!" you cried, falling back on the couch and throwing your controller to the side
• you couldn't believe the numbers that were now displayed on the screen in front of you - how the hell had Jae managed to beat you with so many points?
• the boy leaned back, crossing his arms behind his head. "I won, and you lost. That means I'm better than you, accept it."
• refusing to look at him, you murmured a few curse words under your breath, which he - telling by the lasting victorious smile on his face - didn't hear
• "one more round?" Jae asked. "loser buys take-out."
• this time, you turned to him and furrowed your eyebrows in thought. the possibility that you would finally win was really low, and if so, only by some coincidence.
• "deal."
• you stretched out your limbs that went sore from being in the sitting position for too long. "I think I'm gonna head home."
• "mmmh," Jae hummed while yawning. "text me when you're there."
• "sure, mom."
• you stood up lazily and started gathering your belongings. after one last check, disappeared behind the front door
• you couldn't stop the shiver of excitement that ran down your spine. Jae was like a charger for you, his presence filling you with positive energy (not that you couldn't get tired or sleepy, we all have our limits)
• on the other side, Jae's chest felt heavy at the sound of you closing the door. he missed you. your smile, your voice, your scent, even though you left just a minute ago. it felt almost impossible to wait until the next morning when he would see you again in school
• it wasn't normal for friends to feel that way, he knew it. he realized a while ago, that what he felt wasn't what friends should feel towards each other
• and although he wasn't the shy type, there was something that made him sweat whenever he thought about confronting you about it
• feelings are messed up, man
• Jae got lost in his thoughts
• he was sitting with his usual group of friends on his usual seat, surrounded by the usual turmoil
• but one thing wasn't going as usual - you weren't there yet, and you would barely ever come late for the lunch break
• "so," Minji's voice ripping through the racket brought him back on earth. "have you heard the rumor?
• "what rumor?" Wonpil, who was sitting next to her, asked.
• "really?" Minji said. "the whole school is talking about that."
• Jae looked around the table to see if any of his friends looked nearly as excited as her; to no surprise, as Minji had a habit of exaggerating, it seemed that it wasn't only him who had never heard about the gossip that supposedly everyone knew
• "enlighten us." Wonpil inquired
• she adjusted herself on the seat as if she was getting ready for a big outburst. "well, Kang Younghyun has a crush on y/n!"
• and as she had foreseen, most people at their table went wide-eyed or pressed a hand to their mouths with a gasp
• Jae, too, was taken aback, even though he had no idea who Kang Younghyun was. his jaw dropped alongside his heart, and he remained quiet due to the growing lump in his throat
• "what? that Kang Younghyun?" Hyeri asked, leaning on the table
• "who's that Kang Younghyun?" Dowoon blurted out, looking rather shocked by the reaction than by the rumor itself. Jae thanked him in his head
• "oh, come on!" Minji begged. "have you been in this school since yesterday? he's like the coolest guy in our school!"
• "and he's in a band!" Hyeri added.
• "yeah, and he's a year older..." the first girl finished, resting her chin on her fist and looking at the ceiling with dreamy eyes
• Dowoon also looked up, probably searching for the insect or a stain he thought she was looking at
• at that point Jae was pretty sure that Minji and Hyerin shared a single brain cell
• if he knew that being older was so attractive, he would have got born earlier
• from that moment, he stopped listening to the excited rambling and just stared mindlessly at his hands, deep in thoughts about the news they just heard
• unsurprisingly, they were all about you again
• that was until his friends suddenly went silent and a silhouette appeared next to him
• "sorry, guys, mr. Kim asked me to take some papers to the teachers' room." you apologized, slightly out of breath from running to the cafeteria in order to make it before the break ended. "what were you talking about?"
• "nothing!" Minji was first to answer, not keen to clue you in to the rumor. "you know, just school shit."
• "Youngㅡ youㅡ what?"
• you were at Jae's place again, your backpacks thrown to the corner of the bedroom as you sat on his bed. you just told him about the unexpected thing that happened that day - Younghyun had invited you to his band's performance later that week
• "well, I don't really know why, you know we never really talked or anything..." you played with the hem of one of your socks, not noticing the way his eyes nearly jumped out of the orbits
• "and what did you say?" the boy asked. he felt a bit relieved, knowing that you hadn't heard the gossip yet. it seemed like his friends didn't want to unveil it to you, but it might have as well slipped off Minji's or Hyerin's tongue
• "I told him I'd come," you shrugged. "I don't have anything to do on thursday anyway."
• Jae's mouth opened before he could even think about it. "you can't go there!"
• "what? why?"
• "you..." you can't go there for him, he thought. "we have a test on friday!"
• "since when do you care so much about tests, huh?" you tried to joke, although his abrupt answer caught you off guard. "I can study on wednesday."
• "no!" Jae repeated. it was getting harder to keep his tone calm. "don't go there."
• you felt your blood starting to boil. "jeez, Jae, what is your problem?"
• "I don't have a problem."
• "yeah, clearly, you don't," you said sarcastically. "then why do you want me not to go see Younghyun so much?"
• "because I liked you first, okay?!" Jae snapped, throwing his arms in the air. "I liked you before he even knew your name! but then mr. coolest guy in our schoolㅡ" he made a quotation mark in the air with his fingersㅡ "came and hit on you because who would say no to him?"
• stony silence fell in the room as the two of you stared into each other's eyes. you were trying to digest the information you had just been given, while Jae waited patiently for your response. when one didn't come, he continued:
• "so you don't know," his lips moved into a bitter smile. "everyone is on about how that Kang Younghyun has a crush on you."
• at that moment, you couldn't care less - you weren't even sure if you heard the last sentence correctly. in your mind, there was only one phrase bouncing around and trying to sink in. "you... you like me?"
• "what?" Jae was a bit confounded, probably just realizing that he actually did say those words. he scratched the back of his neck. "oh... well, yeah, I guess I have for quite some time nowㅡ"
• "for quite some time? oh my god, Jae, you're such a goober, you know that?"
• you walked closer to the boy, the proceeding scowl now replaced by a wide grin. standing on your fingertips to be able to reach high enough, you placed a short and sweet peck on Jae's cheek. "I like you too, dumbass."
• "so you don't like Younghyun?" he seemed dumbfounded, as if he couldn't figure out whether that whole situation was real or not. "even though he's in a band? and he's older than us?"
• "I don't even know him, why would all that matter?" you laughed.
• "Minji saidㅡ"
• your eyebrows raised in amusement. "you believed her?"
• Jae's ears went red, even more than before. You were right - Minji, of all people, wasn't the best love-advisor, and he felt foolish for trusting so doubtlessly in what she had said
• and although Jae made a mental note to give more thought to her words next time, he quickly set that conclusion aside
• what mattered was that he could finally call you his, and he was all yours

[1:13 pm] ‘’smile’’ you giggled at your boyfriend Jae as you lifted your phone to take a picture of him for your instagram story. he’d cover his face with a laugh before striking a pose with a grin. you’d be so busy smiling down at the picture you captured that you wouldn’t notice him taking out his phone to snap some photos of you.

Hi! I loved reading your works. And i like to sumbit a request of something comforting and supporting with Jae from DAY6. It can be any format ou see it. I'd just like something soft and comforting for the working reader, who tends to overwork herself and Jae taking care of her and maybe even taking her out for the weekends. Thank you in advance
So I decided to do this in bullet point format bc i thought it made the most sense, if u want a blurb or a drabble version pls lmk! Also sorry this took so long lmao I have no excuse
First of all Jae is a man who understands working hard so he absolutely respects his s/o working hard
He wouldn’t be obvious about it but he would keep an eye on whether you’re taking care of yourself properly
He’d make sure to always grab food on his way home so he could be sure that you ate
He’d definitely drag you away from work to cuddle whenever he could
Of course he’d do his best to make sure you were taking regular breaks
Whether it be bribing you with your favorite food and your favorite movie or convincing you to get out of the house with him
He’d prolly just take you out on nice walks
Maybe to the park or a convenience store
Anywhere to get you out and breathing some fresh air so you can take your mind off of work
If you ever had the chance to get some actual time off he’d take you away for a long weekend
Maybe out to a cabin, so you could really get away from it all
He would just put a lot of emphasis on making sure that you were completely taken care of

~~~
The night was warm, but possessed enough of a chill for you to pull a blanket up to your chin, even in the shelter of the van.
The stars had come out from their hiding places as you’d driven together, up the hill and into the outskirts of the woods. Stopping the van at your favourite point to walk from a few years before, where you could see the village lights bar below like a sweeping sheet of dark silk, embroidered with golden jewels, Jae turned off the ignition and let peace permeate through the vehicle.
You’d been granted enough time only for a short break, but it was enough for a tiny road trip. You’d planned to go on one together—Jae himself being well acquainted with them back in America, and you too broke to take in much of the country you’d worked so hard to reach—ever since your relationship had become official and steady. Your chosen destination?
You’d wanted to go somewhere completely new but the destinations were a bit too far to get to experience anything substantial in your short time together.
And so, in his infinite wisdom that you’d come to know well, Jae suggested returning to somewhere nearer.
You’d told him about your job, of course, and though he was busy he loved hearing the stories of the numerous students you taught. Children were odd creatures, but you enjoyed their company. However, his schedule meant he never got to experience what you got to experience of his sometimes. More lenient holidays meant you could go on tour with him more often than he could pop in in one of your frees to ask how your day was going and that in itself was a vast difference.
He wanted to go somewhere with you, instead. See what had shaped you, in all your beauty and intellect, into the person he knew and treasured with his whole heart—just as you’d done for him
And so you’d headed to the old, rural village where you received your first job as a teacher. You hadn’t been there for long, but with its long flowing tresses of ivy and its perfectly eclectic group of staff, the placed had embedded itself in your memory without fault. Seeing the old building with its alcove windows and mildly unkempt blossom trees round the front brought back a sweet melancholy that you hadn’t felt in a long time.
You’d driven past, and wanted to dearly explore around the corridors and rooms, even if they were empty and blank at the end of the school year. But of course, it was impossible to do so.
The thought had sobered you, and Jae had held your hand as you drove onwards, only letting go when he absolutely had to.
You’d always found the touch of his hands calming. The rough pads of his fingertips against the smoothness of your own, his had been aged by music and craft, honed for a time you could only imagine, never having committed that deeply to anything quite like he had. But you didn’t mind. Those hands did so much for you, and a single touch could simultaneously lull you into a sleep while setting your skin alight. Just as his voice did.
But that was a story for another day, as you were brought back to reality by the very touch you’d dreamt of. His thumb graced the back of your hand, left ignored in your lap, as he took it into his own. He held it so gently, as if you would break.
“How you doing, baby?” he whispered, voice clear and soothing. So maybe the tale of his beautiful voice was a story for today.
You desperately tried to remain focused on him rather than disappearing down the rabbit hole of how much you adored his voice, the way he spoke and enunciated. And that wasn’t even taking his singing into consideration. Even your subconscious knew at least that the thought would end your heart at that very moment.
And there you’d gone.
But it was alright. It always was, because Jae had you. He was there to fish you out. To place the smile back onto your face—right where it could snap his heart in two.
“Should we head into the back, love?”
He came back into focus, his plush lips turned into a smile, and those glinting eyes entrained on you and only you in encouragement.
You nodded, feeling the energy rush back into your system. You weren’t cured, no not quite yet, but you knew he had you.
.
.
Helping you clamber into the back of the van where you’d laid out your totally not stolen mattress for the night, Jae pulled off his hoodie and slipped it over your head. As you emerged, draped in the crimson fabric, he quickly pressed a finger to the tip of your nose as he passed you, gathering the blankets.
You laid yourself down on the mattress, waiting for the flurry of air and then the touch of the duvet settling over your body.
Jae chuckled at the sight of you, curled in a ball to combat the coolness of the air, and didn’t hesitate to cover you.  Once you’d rearranged the blankets how you wanted them, he joined you beneath them, curling against your back and cocooning you like he always did.
Arms slipped around your body, hand raised at the back of your neck to play with your hair there, fingers easing knots and leading wayward strands back home. Meanwhile you entangled his legs with his, letting his warmth seep into you and together create a small haven amongst the chill of the van.
From your position you could see the sunroof, a translucent square dipped in dim light from the falling sun, and upon it the dappled rain cascaded onto the glass.  The sound of its applause was gentle, yet somewhat urgent, though it ebbed and flowed in the wind. It reminded you that you weren’t at home, but its familiarity also eased you that it was ok, you were still welcome.  And after all, you still had Jae with you.
The man in question sighed, smooth and airy, when his chest began to rise and fall rhythmically against your back. Your pressed against his heart that carefully brushed your shoulder blade, a beat that you were sure your life required for it to not otherwise fall into disarray.
His voice was just as homely.
“How’re things down there?” he began, the coy smile evident in his voice. Your head wasn’t much below his upon the pillow, but lower all the same.
You rolled your eyes. “Things are doing great. I should be the one to check on you—after all, it must get cold up there.”
His laughter tickled your ear, as he moved his arm and manoeuvred it instead under your neck, allowing him to pull you even closer. With his nose buried in your hair, a smile spread across his lips, he closed his eyes.
He didn’t want to, particularly, because that meant he couldn’t see you in all your perfection—the rise of your back, the curve of your shoulder—but he had driven the whole way, and breathing in the scent of you was enough to send him off regardless. He was surprised he’d managed to stay awake as long enough as he had.
The wind hummed from outside as the crowd offered a standing ovation, it seemed, as if his action brought joy to the heavens too. It brought happiness to you at the very least, lacing your fingers with his at your waist and resting your other hand against his arm beside your head.
With him at your side, you could find peace much more easily, and you were eternally grateful for that.
“If it ever gets tough,” Jae suddenly continued, voice lowering as sleep began to take hold, “just know I’m always here for you, yeah? I just want you to be happy, and...” his voice tapered into a lethargic breath, as he seemed to dip into the hands of slumber, only to awake himself, “...and I’ll do whatever you need.”
Your heart melted immediately as you heard his words.  They were tired, but they were genuine. He meant them with his whole heart, and with heart spluttering, you didn’t know how to encapsulate your thoughts into words yourself.
You turned yourself over in his arms, careful to not hurt him or yourself, ending up in the same position as you had been in, only now confronted with the art that was his face.
You peered up to his eyes which had no doubt remained closed as you turned. Drifting your sights down to his cheek bones, crossing the bridge of his nose, and winding up eventually lamenting upon those plush lips whose smile you had fallen in love with, you felt tears prick in your eyes.
He’d chosen you, this man of a golden heart, and he wasn’t going to leave you.
You stretched up and placed your lips against his, relishing the smoothness you found against your own for the few seconds you kept them there.  He pressed back against you, trying to coax you into remaining but found little success on the part of his own exhaustion.
As you pulled away, you settled back down in the crook of his neck, nose brushing the skin there delicately as you held onto him—both hands grasped in his shirt.
“I love you,” you whispered, avoiding the tremble of your voice as his words echoed in your head.
To your surprise, he responded, voice barely audible. “I love you too.”
And with that he sunk finally into sleep.
You let yourself focus upon the sound of his heartbeat melding with the patter of the rain. You knew you needed rest too, but you took comfort in the contentment he brought you, and the little time you had.
Pressing your head closer you smiled. You could stay like this, awake, for just a little bit longer.
~~~

Characters: Jae x You
Genre: Fluff, slice of life
Word count: 2.1k
Description: When you’ve had a hard day at work, and Jae is there to comfort you.
Credits: puuung1 on Instagram; do check out their work, the art style reminds me of Jae so much! :)
---
Pulling into the parking lot, you let out a deep sigh as you sink into the seat. As you twist your neck from side to side, you hear the sockets in your neck pop, bringing some short-lived relief from the tension that’s been in your neck the entire day. You can still feel the tightness in your shoulders, but hopefully a patch would do the trick later. Reaching over to the passenger seat to grab your bag, you wince harshly at the sharp pain from your lower back. You must have hit a nerve.
You catch a glimpse of your lock screen, a wistful smile making an appearance on your face. It was the last selfie you took with Jae 2 months ago before he went on tour, and you haven’t seen him since. Your relationship was sustained through constant texting and late night Skype calls, lasting way into the early mornings. Sometimes you momentarily regret staying up so late with him when you arrive to work dead beat, but for him it’s worth it.
He’s finally coming back tomorrow, another 24 hours without him. You can do this Y/N.
Stepping out of the car, you made the slow walk home to your apartment, taking your time opening the door. Swinging the door open, the first thing you noticed were that the lights were on.
Did I forget to off them this morning? Argh I must have, what a waste of electricity…
You were about the flip the switch before the sound of thundering footsteps drew your attention away from your current task. Turning around, you spot a very familiar lanky figure with a mop of light brown hair charging towards you at full speed.
Your husband was home.
“Jae!”
You spread your arms out wide, getting ready to embrace him but you didn’t even have time to give him a proper hug before he picked you up from the floor, twirling you around the entire living room. You were now clinging onto him for dear life, peals of laughter spilling from your lips. Jae finally puts you down after making 1 round throughout the entire living room, not letting go even after your feet has touched the ground. He nestles his face into your hair, deeply inhaling the scent of your peach shampoo that he loved so much. He holds you close by your shoulders, pressing a kiss into your hair. Only then was he satisfied to release you, giving you a chance to question him.
“Aren’t you supposed be home tomorrow darling?”
“Yea but I changed my flight to an earlier one.”
“That must have cost you a lot.”
“A few hundred.”
“You didn’t have to, you know. You could have saved the money.”
“Well, yea it’s true. I do value money but I know I miss you more than I will miss the money and hence the decision.”
You laugh at his ridiculous reasoning, unable to argue with him except to peck him on the lips.
“Welcome home Jae.”
“Hmmm, I miss your kisses babe.”
“Ok, shall I give you one more then?”
“Why are we only stopping at one?”
You chuckle at his cheeky request, but you continue to indulge him with the kisses that he’s missed so much.
“Yea this feels so much better than all the flying kisses you give me over the screen during our Skype calls.”
“Of course.”
You pull back to look at his handsome face that you missed so much, tracing your fingers over the bridge of his nose before bopping the tip of it. However, Jae wasn’t enjoying it as much as you were. He frowned when he observed your face, noticing your pale complexion and darker eye bags. Removing his hands from your cheeks, he gently places his fingers on your chin, tilting it from side to side to get a better look at your face.
“Babe, have you been eating well? You look like you lost a lot of weight, your cheeks are hollower now and they’re not as fluffy as before…”
“Have I? I didn’t notice.” You bring your hands up to pat your cheeks, indeed being able to feel them sinking in more than usual.
“It’s been a rough time at work huh? My poor baby…”
“Yea.. and it’s a particularly rough day today. Tell you about it later. Let me go clean up first?”
“Yea sure babe, go ahead. I’ll run the bath for you.”
Pressing a kiss into your forehead, Jae finally detaches himself from you as he runs to the start the bath, albeit a little reluctantly. His touch lingers at the ends of your fingertips, and you’re already missing being able to hold him.
The bath is nice and warm the moment you step in, courtesy of Jae. You realise he even remembered to put in the lavender scented oil, the loud thoughts in your head becoming quiet as you breathe in the soft scent. Closing your eyes, you sink into the bathtub and let yourself rest.
---
You had barely stepped out of your bedroom before Jae engulfs you in a warm blanket, hugging you tight through the soft fabric.
“Feeling better?”
“Much~ better thanks to you.”
Jae smiles his smile, the one that has his eyes turning into crescents and shows off his neat rows of pearly whites.
“Alright my beautiful wife, let’s go sit down then you can tell me all about your day.”
“Ok, but honey, you know I can’t move wrapped like a burrito right?”
“Gotcha.”
And that’s how Jae has both of you shuffling over to the couch like emperor penguins, him moving from side to side as he hugs you from behind, taking small steps as you try to keep up with small waddles of your own.
Settling you on the couch, Jae places his hands over your shoulders, pulling you close as he begins to comb through your hair. You, on the other hand, made yourself comfortable by placing your head on his shoulders, removing your hands from the blanket so that you can slip your fingers through his, smiling when he curls his slender fingers around yours, giving them a reassuring squeeze.
“What happened at work?”
“Where do I even begin…”
You honestly meant it when you made that comment, work had been overwhelming so far and you didn’t know how to piece it all together to make it coherent.
“You know Jackson went on paternity leave for 2 months right?”
“Yea, what about that?”
“So I had to cover his duties and truth to be told, it’s not fun at all. Having to do 2 people’s job for 2 months has been insanely tiring. I didn’t even occur to me until you mentioned it just now but sometimes I get so busy that I work overtime and miss dinner entirely. Despite all the effort put in, I still messed up. Sigh.”
“Come on baby, it mustn’t have been that bad right? You’re always thinking that you’re doing a bad job when you did great.”
“No this time round, it’s real bad. Like, even you would agree with me when you hear it.”
“Let’s hear it.”
“So we had a meeting with our suppliers today and usually Jackson’s in charge of it but you know, since he’s away, the responsibility falls on me now. I was supposed to come up with a renewed business proposal, which I did but here comes the worst part: I could not answer their questions during the Q&A session. I did not do enough research on the current market condition and overall, I just made it seem like my company did not know what it was doing. Needless to say, I got a pretty terrible lashing from the boss afterwards and then...there was the really rude intern I was telling you about that just had to make my day worse.”
“What did he do to you?”
“He didn’t say anything to me, he just glared at me and started slamming things down to show his displeasure at me when I corrected the way he was preparing documents. There are certain procedures to follow and things to be checked but he just skipped all those critical steps. He may be the nephew of our duty manager but that’s no way to go.”
As you talked, memories of today’s happenings slowly floated to the forefront of your mind, making all the bitter indignation rise like sour bile in your throat. You push back the tears of frustrations that threaten to fall, and opted to stay silent lest Jae heard your voice cracking and gets all worried. He just got back from a tiring tour, you wanted him to not have any worries for the moment.
“Baby, you did a great job and you did the right thing. No matter what others see, you know how hard you’ve worked for the past 2 months. You might have messed up on a big event, but it was just this once. Look at me, look at us! We make mistakes on stage as a band all the time but it’s ok. Give yourself credit for all the other things that you have been able to accomplish successfully in the past 2 months, alright? As for the intern, it’s just a pity that he can’t see how you’re trying to guide him to become a better person. All I can say is good luck to him, the real world is going to be harsher.”
“Jae, that’s so mean.”
“It’s the truth! You know I never sugarcoat my words.”
“I do… thanks for listening to me Jae.”
“No problem babe. Remember, you did a great job my beautiful, lovely, hardworking wife.”
Jae places a kiss to your forehead with each word he says, and it almost feels like a chicken pecking on it’s grains and you laugh at the mental image in your head. When Jae pulls back, you see a glint on his face and you know he’s got an idea.
“Jae… what are you thinking of?”
“I was just thinking of ways to cheer you up; hey wanna see my baby photos?”
“Baby photos? Where’d you get them from?”
“Mum brought along a bunch of photo albums with her when she came to the airport to see me today. Said she found them when she was cleaning the house recently. You got to see them, some of them are really funny. I didn’t even know she had these photos!”
You settled yourself by the coffee table as you wait for Jae to pick out his photo albums. You watch as he bends to flip through them, choosing which ones to show you. He comes back with an armful of them, proceeding to spread them out all over the table.
“I get to choose any one of them?”
“Yea!”
You choose the one that looks the oldest; you could smell the dust that has settled deep within the pages, the cover already yellowing with age. It was your best bet to find some golden photo of Jae as a baby and true enough, the first photo you laid your eyes upon already had you crooning at how adorable he was.
Jae had his feet laid straight in front of him, holding onto a Pooh toy as his mouth opened into a wide “O” shape. Clearly, something was making him very happy.
“Is this the same Pooh bear that lying in your studio now?”
“It is.”
“I can’t believe you kept it for so long! How is it not falling apart after so many years?”
As you continued talking, Jae had settled behind you, pulling you to sit between his legs as he places his chin in your shoulder.
“You did taekwondo as a kid!”
“For a short while. I lost interest after some time and moved on to badminton.”
“That’s so cool though… I got myself a talented husband.”
You turn to nuzzle your nose into his cheek and Jae scrunches his nose at the ticklish feeling.
“Of course you did. Oh wait! I actually have a funny story to tell you about taekwondo, it’s so ridiculous, you won’t believe it!”
Hours pass as Jae continues telling you story after story that has you doubling over in laughter, laughing till your stomach aches and tears are prickling the side of your eyes. As Jae closes the cover of the last album, fatigue envelopes you like a soft blanket, lulling you to sleep right there in Jae’s arms.
“Thank you for cheering me up Jae.”
You angle your head to the side to plant a lazy kiss to his jaw and Jae reciprocates by dipping his head to place a soft kiss on your cheek.
“Anything for you angel. Rest now, you did well today.”

You bounce up and down as you see the Jeep park near the beach house where you and your friends would be staying for the weekend.
The houses lined along the beach were like something you'd find in a movie or TV show, with the brightly painted wooden walls and straw roofs and small steps leading up to the porch that gave a spectacular view of the beach. There was a hammock on the porch, along with a beach chair that looked like it would cave in under the weight of a book.
As the five of your friends started hopping out of the car, you ran to them as best you could in a pair of slops (flip-flops), hugging everyone with welcoming squeals of excitement.
You had gotten there a day earlier since you got off work sooner than they did. There would be three people in a room since the house was pretty small, each room decked with one bunk bed and a single bed with a bedside table and one shared closet. Thankfully you hadn't packed all too much, considering that you were only spending the weekend, and left plenty of space for the guys.
"Y/N! It's so good to see you!" Jae said as you leaned up to hug him, a bright smile aimed at you. You replied with a weird groan of agreement before moving to hug Dowoon and Wonpil at the same time, since they were closest to you.
"I feel like you've grown again," you said with a playful jab to Dowoon's ribs, laughing as Wonpil nodded and muttered something about sharing his height with everyone. Dowoon blushed as he whined childishly.
"Noona," he whined, making you giggle and pinch his cheek gently.
"I'm just teasing, Dowoonie, go ahead and check out the house with Jae and Wonpil." You smiled after him as he ran off with his back, waddling after his hyungs cutely. Shaking your head you turned to Sungjin who had been fondly watching you interact with the youngest, rolling his eyes and smiling stupidly.
"Hey, noona. It's been too long." He said as he leaned down to hug you, a lot more relaxed than the rest of your clique, pulling away and grabbing two bags in each hand. You ruffled his hair and watched him walk off after the others, a smile on your face. Before you could turn around to greet him, arms slipped around your waist, a gentle weight resting against your shoulder with breath fanning against your jaw.
"Jagiya..." Younghyun drawled, trying to act cute. You rolled your eyes but turned around with a smile, facing a pouty fox who looked like he was on the verge of throwing a tantrum.
"Why do you always greet everyone before me? Your boyfriend?"
"Because, dummy." You pushed your finger against his forehead harshly, giggling as you spoke, noticing him going cross-eyed. "They need reassurance of my love more than you do."
"Yah! I also need your attention!" He shouted with a large smile, picking you up at your waist and lifting you up, making you shout to put you down and hit weakly at his shoulders. When he finally set you down you giggled, leaning against him, figurative hearts in your eyes as he leant down to kiss you. You gave him a short peck before telling him to grab his things and come on inside.
"I'm the eldest, I should get a single bed to myself!"
"But I'm the youngest and therefore have maknae privileges!"
You heard a sigh as Jae and Dowoon argued loudly about the last single bed that was available (since you had already snagged the one in the room to the left, courtesy of arriving first).
You went over to the room, leaning against the door frame while overseeing the argument, finding it hilarious how Wonpil so easily ignored them while neatly unpacking his things on the lower bunk.
"Y/N! You tell him that as eldest, I should get the single bed. Right? Tell him!" Jae said over-dramatically, his hands flying all over the place. You grinned mischievously before clearing your throat.
"I'm afraid that Dowoon is right. On page 294 in the Maknae Privilege Code of Conduct, it clearly states that he gets the single bed." You said, speaking with the confidence of a lawyer defending an obviously innocent man. Dowoon walked over happily and Jae looking at you with the face you'd use as the thumbnail for a Top 10 Anime Betrayals video.
"I hate you." Jae said before sulkily throwing his things up on the top bunk, Dowoon side hugging you for a second before smugly going to his single bed.
"Aww," You back hugged Jae, standing on the very tips of your toes to rest your chin as close to his shoulder as possible before saying, "don't be like that, hm? You know I love you, and I have a compromise anyway." Jae perked up at your comment looking less sulky than before.
Dowoon looked utterly terrified, and Wonpil was (figuratively) eating popcorn at the drama playing out in the bedroom.
"Because Dowoon gets the bed, he has to pay for one thing you want."
Dowoon glared at you, appalled, while Jae triumphantly pumped his fist in the air and gave you a light kiss on the cheek. You laughed, waving at the guys still in the room and walking outside to the kitchen to see Brian and Sungjin talking idly about what they'd do for dinner (they'd apparently had lunch on the way here) and what to do to keep everyone busy. You walked over almost silently, leaning up to give Younghyun, who was sitting on one of the counters, a peck on the cheek, looking over at Sungjin with a large smile and suggestive wiggle of the eyebrows.
You reached for the hem of your shirt, beginning to pull it over your head when there was frantic, almost high pitched screaming from the man closest to you, who grabbed your wrists and jumped off the counter to hide you from any prying eyes.
"Yah! What d'you think you're doing?!" Brian shouted heatedly, still a bit shook with the stunt you’d just tried to pull.
You snorted, almost falling over, leaning your forehead against his chest as you laughed silently. "God, you're cute," you muttered, wiping a tear from the corner of your eye and regaining your composure.
Younghyun was looking at you like a lost puppy, pulling at your heart strings. Giggling still, you pulled your short forward and motioned your head downward, Brian looking down, confused. When he saw the fabric of a swim suit, he laughed in disbelief, letting his head rest against your shoulder. "Ah, I'm sorry." You said, running your hand through his hair comfortingly.
"You gave me a heart attack," he mumbled, pulling away.
"Are you two planning on keeping me as a third wheele or can I leave?" Sungjin teased playfully, making the two of you turn around.
"Right, sorry. Anyway, I was thinking we could go down to the beach and you know... Swim?" You chuckled, taking off your shirt to reveal the stretchy fabric of your all gray swimsuit before tying up your hair.
"Sounds fun," Sungjin turned to Wonpil and the others who were sitting in front of the television playing Mario Kart. "If you guys wanna join we'll be down at the beach."
"Okay, hyung. See you guys later!" Dowoon called as he shouted with Wonpil, who had just been pushed off of the track by Jae.
"Ciao!" You shouted as you ran outside, cheeks hurting from smiling so much. Having already swam a bit, you were first in the water, Sungjin eventually joining you before Brian finally got in. Once the water was about waist high you waddled over to Younghyun, who looked kind of uncomfortable.
"What's up? You okay?" You asked as you brushed some hair out of his face, putting your hand over his arm. Brian nodded with a half hearted smile.
"It's just a bit dark, is all. You can't really see anything."
"It's okay, love. You can go on back if you want. We won't be here long, anyway." Brian nodded, kissing you thankfully before he turned and walked back to solid ground. At around about the same time, the three doofuses ran down from the beach house, splashing in the salt water and lunging down as soon as it was deep enough. You laughed, shutting your eyes as water flew at you.
You only stayed in the water for about 30 minutes before you got tired of the boys' seemingly endless energy, going to lay down underneath the tree Brian had set up everyone's towels at. You went and sat next to him quietly, finding a comfortable spot where you could lay down with your face out of the sun while still being able to tan.
You layed down with your head resting more or less next to Brian's side, only your lower half exposed to the sun. You entered a peaceful state of limbo, still aware of everything around you but feeling like you were asleep. You opened an eye, however, when you felt weight being placed on your stomach, looking up to see Younghyun laying against you, eyes closed. You smiled fondly at him, playing with his hair for a second before letting your hand rest on the nape of his neck.
As night fell, everyone got all huddled up inside, dressed in their PJ's, two boxes of pepperoni and mushroom pizzas laying on the coffee table in the living room.
You laughed and shouted along with the guys as they had an intense game of Smash Bros, sitting sandwiched between Dowoon and Brian, nibbling at your pizza while the room went silent. When Wonpil won for the 3rd time this night, you screamed, Brian's soul having seemingly left his body. You were giggling, rubbing his back soothingly with your legs intertwined.
It only took a few more games and a scary movie for you to head on off to bed, yawning once every 2 minutes. Not long after Brian walked into the room, stopping midway toward his bunk bed. "Bri?" You said in a small voice, face hidden in the darkness of the room.
"What's up?" He asked, crouching down beside your bed and running a hand over your hair.
"Can you sleep with me for tonight? I can't fall asleep because of the movie..." You were nervous for his reaction but weren't entirely surprised when he mumbled for you to move up, shifting in next to you and wrapping himself around you.
"I keep telling them..." He said with a sigh, his lips brushing against your shoulder. You sighed contently, putting your hand over his.
"Today was fun though, wasn't it?"
"Yeah, it was. Wait until you see what I have planned for tomorrow." Brian whispered mischievously, pressing a gentle kiss to your temple. "Go to sleep, princess. We have a long day ahead of us."

My fourth love letter was for my childhood best friend while we were away for college; Park Jaehyung.
Tumblr media
Inspired by this post by @jae6bot & based on the movie/book of the same name

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before [Mini-Masterlist]
Protagonist: Park Jaehyung & You
Word Count: 917
Genre: SFW – a bit angsty – Letter – Romance – Drabble – Mini-Series
Tumblr media
 Dear Jaehyung,
(sorry for using your full name, but it’s serious business, don’t be an ass about it)
We were wrong on so many things about College. The most flagrant one being that; it sucks big deal. The weather is getting cold and I’m so lonely here. I should’ve applied for the same one as you, in whatever major. I know I sound horribly clingy, but you were always the most independent of us. It should come as no surprise.
I keep expecting you to show up on my campus. In your old ugly ass Tercel, as unannounced as ever, with your dumb smile on, and a way too large band t-shirt. Perhaps I’m having Jae withdrawal symptoms. I even miss your smell and the frustrating habit you have of always cutting me off in the middle of my sentences.
I just got off the phone with you, so I’m conflicted about why I feel the need to write you this letter. I think in more ways than one, a part of me always knew we would end up like this.
Monday, I went to a party with my new roommate. She wanted to introduce me to her boyfriend’s best friend. (I know you rolled your eyes as you read this.) Surprisingly, the guy was kind of awesome. While we were arguing about which version of IT is the ultimate best (don’t worry, I still only preach by the original movie), our song started playing in the background and I froze. The DJ tried to make the mood more intimate, and he played that song from our prom night. I completely panicked, because my blind date suddenly wanted to slow dance.
I know you must find this weird, but I want this song to belong only to the “prom night” us, forever.
You must be confused, I should probably explain why it’s so special to me in the first place… Well, for starters, you have no idea how stressed I was during senior year. It took you forever to ask me out for prom; “because we’re both going solo anyway”.
If you only knew… There was only one guy I wanted to go with in the first place. I waited for months, hoping you wouldn’t find a date. I was ecstatic when you finally asked me. If I close my eyes now, I can still see you in that second-hand tux, standing in my parents’ living room.
You looked kinda cool… For a loser.
I can tell I have it bad, because I can almost still feel your hands around my waist and your body pressed on mine. I felt so whole when we danced that night. Then you sang along to that song in my ear. I knew you didn’t mean anything by it and that I was being the worst friend ever, but I still had goosebumps all over.
Right then, I wished for everything to remain the same between us forever. Monday night, however, I realised that it had barely been four months and already, everything has been turning sour. I didn’t dance with that guy in the end, I couldn’t.
That song will forever be ours, I’m never going to dance to it with anyone else but you, Jae.
I hid my feelings for so long, because I know they’re wrong. But clearly, I must pen them down to find a way to go on. So, once and for all, I’ll write it, black on white; it was always you.
You are so important in my life, you’re like a part of me. I can always count on you, you have never let me down in over 10 years.
Jaehyung, when we were little kids, you used to make me mad with your tricks, but you also always held my hand every time we crossed a street on the way to school. I wish you had never let go. I only first realised how precious and special you were to me when I told you I was dating Sungjin in Junior High and you ignored me for weeks.
Yes, I’ve known for that long. I’ve been so scared of losing you since then. That’s why I never told you anything.
I never told you how I felt when we danced at prom; how lightweight and happy I am whenever you tell me you miss me; how destroyed I was the time I had to piece back together your heart. Or even, just now on the phone, I never told you how I hate college because you aren’t with me.
It’d be better for our friendship if I never tell you.
I love you Park Jaehyung.
I love with how much passion you hate 80s movies remake. I love how you don’t care if you sound like a madman every time you laugh at your own jokes. I love that you call my family house “home” without ever realising what you just said. And above all, I love how you always find the strength to get up when life throws you down.
I love you, but you’ll never know.
It’s the first time I write one of these letters without it clearing my head.
I really hope you that you’ll come visit me on campus soon. Maybe if you do I’ll have the courage to talk this out with you. To finally tell you everything.
You can come crash my dorm whenever, my roommate is always at her boyfriend’s anyway.
See you soon,
Y/n.

Jae puts your leg on his shoulder.
"Hang on tight babe!" He said thrusting into you faster and deeper. You felt your wall clench.
"Yes Jae your so good! Faster! You moan louder shouting his name.
He thrust faster while stimulating your swollen clit.
"Fuck babe! Im cumming! " you squirm as he rub your clit deeper.
"Cum for me babe!"
Jae felt that you reach your climax , you shivered in his touches. A few thrust and you felt his dick throbbed inside you.
He pulled his dick and lay beside you, your back facing him. He pulls you closer as the both of you gasped for air.
"God that was the best sex in my entire life" he said.
You showered and went outside to find a chicken place. You spent the night with him laughing on his jokes, talking while walking you home ,holding each others hands. As you reached your place, he pulls you closer and hugged you tightly. You hugged him back.
"Bye" you said and pulled away.
"Bye," he said placing a gentle kiss on your lips
The both of you were smiling like crazy.

Hello love can I request a cute jae fluff crack thingy? (ʃƪᵔᵌᵔ)
sure thing babyyyy
(also since you didn’t request anything Halloweeny, I took some liberties here, I hope you don’t mind
Bias: Jae from DAY6
Genre: Bewitched!AU/Fluff/Humor
Warnings: Mature language
Words: 1.2k
“I’m a witch!”
You frown as you try to fix your long skirt once more before taking a look in the mirror to inspect your outfit.
It’s Halloween night and your boyfriend is about to pick you up for his friend’s party. Jae decided to dress up as Beetlejuice, one of his favorite movies to date and so you decided to go as Lydia, kinda like a couple’s outfit.
Coincidentally, this is the night you decided to let him know the truth about you. Although as you keep practicing your words in front of your mirror, no explanation seems sane enough.
Jae won’t believe you that’s for sure.
You sigh in thought, just as your roommate apparates into your bedroom without actually walking through the entrance like normal people.
Okay, he and you aren’t exactly normal so you can give him that.
“Jesus Christ, Wonpil! Can’t you knock, at least?!” you complain, turning around to glare at your friend, floating in the middle of your bedroom while munching on some popcorn.
The brunet boy shrugs with a devious smile on his lips. “I just couldn’t help but overhear your miserable attempts at explaining to Jae what you are, thus probably ending your relationship, after what has only been two months.”
You reach your hand upwards to wrap around his ankle and forcefully drag him down until he falls to the floor with a grunt. You could have done it with just a snap of your fingers but where’s the fun in that.
Wonpil rubs his butt with a pout as you ignore him to check on your makeup.
“Seriously though are you just gonna go up to him and tell him you’re a witch?” he asks, all signs of teasing gone from his features as he gets up to sit on your bed.
You sigh. “What other choice do I have?”
“Not telling him at all and continue your merry way into your relationship until you feel guilty enough for your secret that strains your bond until you finally break up with him? You know, like most couples do?”
You groan before turning your attention to him once more. “You’re not exactly helping…” you mutter just as Wonpil snaps his fingers, and music begins playing from your laptop.
“Babe, you know what you’re hoping for is basically impossible. No human ever understands,” he comments in a soft voice, in direct contrast with his previous behavior.
“Look…” You sigh, before sitting next to him. “I like Jae, I really do and I don’t want to ruin this…”
“So don’t tell him,” Wonpil concludes, but his words make you bite your lip in guilt.
“…But I don’t want to keep secrets from him. What’s the point of being in a relationship if we can’t trust each other?” you wonder out loud as your hands fall to your lap.
“Look, it’s up to you if you tell him or not and whatever you do I’m gonna be right there backing you up. I just want to make sure you know the effects your actions might have. Because it’ll be silly of you to not expect any kind of reaction out of Jae when you tell him you’re a witch.”
“You’re a what?”
Immediately both your head and your roommate’s turn to look at the entrance of your room. Where you realize in horror Jae stands.
Your eyes grow wide as much as his. Shit. You’ve forgotten you’ve given him a key in case of emergency.
Wonpil looks between the two of you in shock before, “Well, this will surely be fun but I have someplace I need to hide in shame sooo…” and then Wonpil snaps his fingers and disappears in thin air.
To which Jae gasps in shock, stumbling back only to hit his head against the wall.
You’re immediately standing and walking towards him. “Oh, shit, are you okay?”
But Jae doesn’t respond to that, eyes still as wide as saucers, almost burning the spot where Wonpil used to be.
“Wait, wait, what the hell was that? How did he do that? And what did he mean when he said you’re witch?! What the hell is going on?!” he hyperventilates, eyes dancing over your features not able to focus at anything.
“Jae, please calm down, you’ve hit your head,” you try to reason with him but he shakes his head.
“Who gives a shit about my head, Wonpil just said you’re a witch and then disappeared with a snap of his fingers!” he states in awe before his eyes finally focus on yours, waiting for an explanation.
You let out a long exhale before hesitantly taking his hands on yours. When he lets you do it, you feel a tad bit more confident.
“I didn’t mean for you to find out like this…”
“So you are a witch?” if it’s possible Jae’s eyes grow in size and you bite your lip before you finally nod.
“Wait, what kind of witch?” Jae simply asks and you frown at him.
Was it that simple?
“You believe me?” you ask almost incredulous and Jae lets out a surprised chuckle.
“Well, I just saw Wonpil do that, it’s either I believe you or I’ve gone crazy…” he states, still dumbfound and a small unbelievable giggle leaves your lips.
“So what kind of a witch are you? Like a “Harry Potter” type one with a good moral compass or a “Wicked Witch of The West” type one with ambiguous motives?” he’s completely serious when asking that question which makes an impulsive laugh echo through your room.
“None of those things, they’re merely children stories…” you say through giggles and you can’t believe Jae is taking this so well. Maybe the hit was a little more serious than what you imagined.
“Do you have a broomstick? Oh, or a wand? A wand would be awesome!” he murmurs amazed, a thousand possibilities running through his head.
“Wait Wonpil’s a witch too, right? So you can do what he did?”
“I’m a warlock, lover boy, get your facts straight,” Wonpil appears floating next to Jae only to give his response before he disappears again.
“WOW, THAT WAS COOL AS FUCK MAN!” Jae yells in awe and you can’t help the laugh that escapes your lips once more.
“Why are you laughing?” Jae asks confused but with a smile on his face before you wrap your hands around his neck.
“Nothing I just thought you might react badly to the news, so I’m just happy you took it so well…” you mumble shyly as you play with his collar and Jae smiles.
“Are you kidding? My girlfriend is a witch! That has got to be one of the coolest things ever!” his excitement and adoration are genuine and you can’t help but smile as you stand on your tiptoes for a kiss. To which Jae happily obliges.
But after a second he laughs nervously before, “Um, Y/N? I’m okay with you being a witch and all but can you put us down? I’m still afraid of heights.”
You open your eyes to realize both of you are currently floating over the floor.
Damn it!

Being Park Jaehyung's best friend is an adventure. Last-minute weekend trips, impromptu singing sessions on the streets, spicy ramen eating contests, texting silly memes and awful lot of emojis 24/7, sneaking back to your dorm room at three in the morning, laughing at the smallest things, a hand around your shoulder whenever you feel down, Saturday movie nights with sweet popcorn and you getting pissed when he talks English you don't understand.
It's always fun and you are content, you swear you are even if those nasty butterflies in your stomach tell otherwise. But your heart can’t help but skip a beat whenever he smiles at you fondly, grabs your hand or just simply hugs you as a greeting. You tell yourself you shouldn't get greedy and want more than what you have. Or more than what you can have. Because of course, Jae likes somebody who isn't you: Somebody who is funny, kind and smart, a girl that makes him dedicate cheesy songs to her.
Jae has been working as a late night host at a local radio station ever since he quitted university because it wasn't for him. You have never missed his show since then and he likes to tease you about it or even embarrass you sometimes on air like telling his listeners about that annoying friend of his who still owns him a pack of chicken. But no matter how smug he acts, you can tell he appreciates your loyalty. However, truth to be told, you don't do it solely because you are best friends but because you are addicted to his show. You love his jokes, his music taste and that three hours every weekday when you can do anything while listening to his voice. You only dread those last moments recently, those last tracks because now Jae often dedicates a heart fluttering love song to some girl his listeners like to ask him about.
"She's the most amazing person I have ever met," he once said and it pained you more than it should have.
You couldn't say anything but it hurt you both as his best friend and as the girl who has been in love with him probably ever since he sat down to built sand castles with you when you were five. Though, you only realized it last Christmas when he gently kissed you under a mistletoe due to your friends' endless nagging.
"Are we ok?" he asked then, looking at you so closely, only a few breaths away, you couldn’t think properly. And what could you have said anyway? You were still dazed only because of this quick, chaste kiss that shouldn’t mean anything more than an innocent peck between friends, so you played it safe:
"Yeah, of course."
You haven't talked about it ever since, most likely because it really didn’t mean anything to him. But you were becoming more and more aware of your infatuation over him. It’s not just a crush on your part but as his best friend you can only support him if he likes that girl so much, even if he isn't willing to tell you more about her.
"Huh and you call yourself my best friend?" he laughed at you one time you asked about this mystery girl. Jae teased you for a week straight after the incident that you shouldn't be jealous yet you couldn't help it: you were. You are. Because where is this dream girl Jae dedicates all the sickeningly sweet confession songs and how can she not notice how great he is?
You don't even know why you keep making yourself suffer but you sure as hell can't say no to Jae. Not when he whines that he missed dinner and asks you to bring him something to eat at the radio station. That’s how you end up in the studio building with hands full of exotic spiced chicken wings he likes so much. He is almost done when you arrive so you wave to him through the glass window and his face brightens as he sees you... or at least, his dinner. He mouths you ‘five minutes’ note with a short nod, putting down the take-out and entangling your earphones to listen to the end of his show. You catch the last accords of an Ed Sheeran song and then Jae's melodious voice fills your ears.
"Hey late night listeners, this was Perfect and as I see online a lot of you have been wondering about this girl I like. Is your life so boring that you care so much about mine?"
You swear his laugh is even prettier when he mentions that girl which makes you gulp bitterly. Still, you can't take your eyes off of him, not when he smiles so bright, eyes disappearing into crescents behind his glasses, ruffling his blonde hair and looking happier than ever.
"Okay, if you are so curious, I tell you that I know for sure that she's listening to my show right now. So yes, dear listeners, one of you is the girl who stole my heart," he says and your breath hitches.
The show is online but how can he tell? He didn't track the girl's IP address, right? That would be a bit creepy. When Jae glances at you, he laughs at you scandalized expression a lot amused.
"I'm sure you are all wondering how it all happened. Well, I have known her so long I'm pretty sure I have always loved her one way or another. But I only realized that it's a different kind of love when she had her first boyfriend and I had to fake a smile."
Your mind is running miles in a second searching for somebody in Jae's big group of friends who can be the one. Jae's not helping since he's quite protective of every single girl friend of his because he likes to act like the funny big brother everybody would like to have. Except you.
"She doesn't know that I'm a bit of a romantic and she probably thinks it's lame of me to confess with songs but come on, songs can tell it better than me,” you best friend keeps making you suffer without knowing because it’s almost unbearable to hear him talk more about this lucky girl. It feels like a stab in the heart and you are close to having enough of all this when he continues with his confession: “All of these songs remind me of her and if she doesn't put it together today I'm gonna give up because the song I'm playing tonight is significant in our ‘relationship’ dare I say. At least for me. So hey, love, if you don't feel the same way it's okay but this is how I feel. Here comes When you love someone by Day6, our beloved local band, here you go. This has been Jae. Thank you for staying with me tonight. Good night, sweet dreams and don't forget to subscribe."
As Jae pushes some buttons on the control panel, music flows and he puts down his headphone making his way towards the room in which you stand paralyzed listening to the song that was playing when you two kissed that night almost a year ago. What the hell?
"You are an idiot!" you punch him on the chest as soon as he steps out of the soundproof booth. You emotions are all over the place varying from delighted, relieved to a bit mad.
"Say something I don't know," the boy giggles putting his manly hands over your fists to keep them there close to his heart and then there’s a pause while he expectantly waits for you to say something. It’s rare to see him so hesitant and uncertain because most of the times he seems very sure of himself. But you have never had heart to make him wait for too long so you gather all your courage and tell him how you feel:
"I kind of love you too," you finally say out loud, softly, cheeks rosy and voice shyly quiet.
"Thank God, it would have been super awkward if you didn't," Jae scratches the back of his neck letting out a bit forced rippling laughter.
"You could have said something, I can't believe I was jealous of myself!" You huff but you almost regret it because Jae has the nerve to keep smirking.
"That was pretty fun to watch," he remarks lightheartedly and you roll your eyes. Of course, it must had been amusing for him.
You clear your throat nervously before asking the big question: "Sooo what changes?"
"Hm... except for being girlfriend and boyfriend instead of best friends, it can be pretty much the same, I guess. My mom says we already act like a couple," Jae shrugs with a fond smiles until something crucius doesn’t cross his mind and when he looks down on you, he seems so serious you don’t know what to make out of it. "Oh but the kissing! Let’s not forget that part! We have to kiss now."
The desperation in his voice makes you giggle and in an instant your feel your previous stiffness dissolving into thin hair. It’s just Jae after all, your best friend whom you trust with all your heart…
"Who said I want to?" you raise an eyebrow in challenge that makes him pout sadly.
"Fine then just let me hold your hand."
You touch your chin with a finger acting like you’re thinking hard. "I'll think about it."
However, Jae knows you and your acting skills too well because he doesn’t seem bothered at all as he turns his back on you like he didn’t care. "Sure."
"Okay, wait, I made up my mind," you stop him quickly before he could get farther away and grabbing his hand you stand in front of him. His brown eyes are glimmering stars of the universe as he curiously gazes at you. "I want you to hold my hand and kiss me."
You surprise yourself being so blunt and a blush is already adorning your features as you duck your head down. But Jae doesn’t let you hide for long as he sneaks his long fingers around your neck, under your jaw and leans down until his lips are ghosting over yours.
"With pleasure," he whispered raspily in a way that makes your knees weak but you kiss him back with equal force. He tastes like the coffee he drinks and something sweet, addicting, you lose yourself to the feeling but just because you know Jae will always be there to catch you when you fall.
So if being Park Jaehyung's best friend was already an adventure, being his girlfriend is the whole damn feast but you don’t regret a thing. Never with him.

[ your pov]
“They're here!" you called down the hallway.
"Who are here?" Jae jokingly asked. You rolled your eyes playfully at your boyfriend before clicking the button from your apartment that buzzed downstairs, allowing your friends to pass and come up. You loved that you got on so well with your boyfriends friends. You recalled the first time ever meeting them and how nervous you were that they wouldn't like you or something. Instantly, you clicked with them and talking was easy. However, your boyfriend and his friends were far from any other normal twenty year olds. They were part of one of the biggest gangs in your city. When you first met Jae, obviously you were unaware about this. You were furious and utterly distraught and upset with him, especially for keeping it a secret from you. Jae was constantly worried about your safety, but you knew he would protect you, no matter what. Therefore, you knew it was important to  keep away from any of his business and never get involved in anything. You were not stupid and it was dangerous business.
You never even asked Jae or any of his friends about what they were doing, you just focused on your career and life.
You greeted all of Jae’s friends before shutting the door closed behind them and locking. Although all of your boyfriends friends were lovely people, you couldn't help but feel nervous due to their dangerous careers. When everyone was in a room together, you couldn't help but get worried. However, today they were just calling over as normal friends, normal twenty year olds.
After some time passing, everyone sitting down and eating food, you checked to see the time. It had just gone past one in the morning. You lazily stretched your arms, deciding it was time to go since you had work in the morning.
“I'm gonna go, I'll see you tomorrow?” you announced, looking over at Jae. He stood up to give you a kiss goodbye.
“Hey I’m actually going to go too, I could give you a lift home if you'd like,” Dowoon, the youngest of the group offered, also standing up from the couch. You looked over at Jae. He smiled at Dowoon and you, thanking Dowoon for taking your safety into consideration.
Dowoon was an enigma to you. You couldn't comprehend why a guy as young as him was in a gang, a perilous type of lifestyle. All you knew about him was the information Jae occasionally shared with you. He had dropped out of college for reasons unknown to you. Regardless, you pitied him and always treated him like a younger brother, making sure he was okay. Although his exterior appeared shy, you knew he was a lot more. You weren’t in his situation, so you couldn't empathise with him or understand his reasons for getting involved in a gang at his mere age of twenty.
“Thanks Dowoon, I don't want you going out of your way though,” you said, putting your jacket on. Dowoon waved his arm.
“It's no problem, I'm actually heading in that direction anyway,” he reasoned.
“Okay, thank you,” you smiled. You kissed Jae goodbye one last time and waved goodbye to the others before following Dowoon out to his car.
Once outside, Dowoon politely opened the passenger door for you. You smiled and hopped in. You noted the interior of his car was in immaculate condition, no belongings or rubbish strewn about the place. Dowoon offered you some chewing gum, which he you declined. He turned the radio on, not too loud so that you could still talk. Neither of you spoke too much. Honestly, you weren't exactly sure how to talk to him, or what to even talk about.
Dowoon’s eyes were fixated on the busy road ahead of you. You leaned your arm up by the window, resting your head on your arm. Tiredness consumed you, causing you to space out. You looked up when you noticed that your surroundings were unfamiliar.
“Um… Dowoon?” you piped up, raising your head up from your arm.
“Hmm?” was all he responded with.
“Where are we, exactly?” You questioned. You noticed that Dowoon looked tense. His skin had paled and his grip on the steering wheel had tightened, causing his knuckles to turn white. His eyes looked darker as he stared at the road in front of you.
“We have to take a detour. Other roads closed,” he curtly replied, expression neutral and not revealing much.
You knew where you lived. This route (with no other cars passing by) was completely new to you. Where was he going? You never feared him. Out of all of Jae’s friends, Dowoon was probably the one you got along with best as well as trusted the most. You never ever considered being fearful of him. His demeanour was telling you that you probably should be worried.
“Dowoon? Where are going?” You said, voice cracking.
He ignored your questioned, stepping his foot onto the accelerator.
You begged and pleaded, close to tears. What was going on?
You tried to opened the passenger door, but Dowoon must've locked them.
“What're you doing?” You cried for the umpteenth time.
“Please stop talking,” Dowoon spat, eyes growing even darker.
Your hands began to shake, fear engulfing you. You sat still and wrapped your arms around yourself as some sort of comfort. The air in the car had grown freezing cold. You looked out the window and away from Dowoon, utterly terrified and unsure of what was going to happen.
-
After what felt like hours (you weren't actually sure how long you had been driving), Dowoon pulled up to a massive grey building. The sky outside was pitch black outside and still, as if the entire world had gone silent. This made everything that was happening more eerie and unsettling. The building was a dull grey colour and appeared derelict. You took in your surroundings while you could. You didn't know where Dowoon had taken you, but nothing looked familiar.
You discretely pulled your phone out of your back pocket, however Dowoon was quick to catch you. He snatched the phone out of your hand before proceeding to throw it onto the dirty ground causing it to smash.
“There's no use anyways. No reception.” He added, grabbing your wrist and pulling you up to the building.
You didn't even bother trying to fight with him in fear for your safety. A tiny part of you wanted to believe it was a sick joke, but Dowoon looked far too scary and real to be pretending. He had become a totally different person and this frightened you.
Once you both made it up to the entrance of the building, Dowoon quickly typed in a code onto the keypad next to the huge doors. The wooden doors creaked open to reveal two security guards. Dowoon and the guards exchanged nods, Dowoon pulling you inside. His grip was starting to hurt your arm but you knew it was pointless to try and fight with him.
Dowoon brought you through the house too quickly for you to take in the surroundings. What you could tell though was that the house had many rooms. The entire atmosphere felt cold and ominous. Your breathing became heavier and you felt colder.
‘Jae will find me. Someone, anyone, will find me. I will be safe’ you said to yourself in your head to stay sane and as positive as possible.
Dowoon flung a door open to reveal a dark room with only a few wooden chairs and a small coffee table. You were pushed onto a chair where he proceeded to tie your arms and feet to. As he was doing so he spoke.
“I do like you Y/N, I don't hate you and you're a nice person. But I have to do this, I have been given orders… I’m sorry. I’m sorry to you and Jae,” Dowoon said as he finished tying the knots.
Your red and puffy eyes glared at him.
“I liked you too. Jae obviously doesn't know about this? What're you up to?” You hissed, scowling at the man.
“I was given orders, I carry them out,” Dowoon plainly replied, standing up from his previously crouched position.
“What? What is it you're being asked to do? You're not giving me a proper answer!” You shouted at him, trying to prevent your voice from cracking.
Dowoon looked a bit upset for a split second.
“This is what I've been instructed to do,” he plainly repeated.
“You… you're not with Jae’s gang are you?” You said, realisation setting in. Dowoon was a traitor. He never really was with Jae’s gang. You knew very little about gang activities, but you were pretty sure Dowoon was working with a rival gang.
Dowoon laughed.
“Of course I’m not. I've been pretending,” he replied, voice laced with a malicious tone.
Dowoon was a good liar. He deceived all of you into being a sweet, slightly naïve boy who had to join their gang to get by.
Dowoon opened up his phone as you sat tied to the chair, unaware of what was going to happen to you. You never wanted Jae by your side more than you did in this moment.
You looked over to see Dowoon talking to someone on video call, his tone menacing. He laughed to himself, sarcasm evident in his laughter.
“I'm serious Jae-“ You looked up after hearing Dowoon say your boyfriends name.
“She's here. You all believed I was on your sides. But yes, Y/N is at our headquarters. You know what you have to bring to keep her safe,” Dowoon told Jae, his voice dripping with venom. You never saw a person look so stern and scary in that moment and it terrified you that it was Dowoon, the timid and sweet looking boy you knew only a mere few hours ago.
Dowoon turned his phone towards you. You quickly glanced up to see your boyfriend with some of his friends in the background. You looked away, turning your head. You didn't want your boyfriend to see you so weak, defeated and helpless. You heard them gasp.
“Dowoon! I swear if you lay one damn finger on her you'll -“ Jae began yelling into the camera.
“You know what to do. Bye bye Jae,” Dowoon smirked, shutting his phone off and ending the video chat.
“Now. You, stay here and don't make any noise, okay?” Dowoon instructed, bending down to reach your level. You didn't want to looked at him. He sighed before getting up and storming out of the room, slamming the heavy door with a loud thump.
-
[ jae’s pov ]
After speaking to Dowoon I flung my phone down on the floor. How did we fall for his facade? Why didn't I see through him? Now the only thing that mattered in my life was in danger.
“I’m gonna kill him! How could he have played us like this?!” I yelled, anger consuming me.
After Dowoon and Y/N left, we got a call saying to meet our rival gang in the abandoned warehouse we’d normally meet at. It was good Y/N had left. I hated that it hurt her to know when I had to go away for business. She never wanted to get involved and she stayed clear, but I always feared for her safety.
“All right Jae, we’ll make sure we find Y/N safe,” YoungK stated, patting my shoulder. We were still at the warehouse after the meeting. I was beyond furious that the guys that I had just met with were the same guys behind the abduction of Y/N. You were also furious over Dowoon, but you had to focus on finding Y/N now.
“Come on, let's go quick,” Sungjin called, hopping into the drivers seat of your car. YoungK and Wonpil clambered into the back. Wonpil pulled out his laptop and other technical items he used in situations like this where we needed to find and locate people and buildings. YoungK was checking that he had the ammunition we’d need to be prepared. The other gang were dangerous people and you couldn't predict what they had planned. I sat in the passenger seat next to Sungjin, my head turned around to talk to the other two.
Wonpil’s eyes were intently concentrated on the screen of his laptop, the glow of the screen illuminating his face as his fingers typed furiously on the keys of the computer. I worried once I saw the look of confusion on his face. He was obviously having difficulty trying to locate Dowoon and Y/N’s location.
“Wonpil! What’s wrong?” I asked, panic in my voice.
“Jae… They seem to be on to me, they know I’m trying to track them. Dowoon… he knows everything about us and how we operate. There is one thing I could try though,” Wonpil explained.
All four of us sat in the car in silence. The only sound was the clicks from the keys of Wonpil’s laptop.
“I think I got it!” Wonpil exclaimed, eyes lighting up as he continued typing. He spun the computer around so that Sungjin and I could get a clear view.
“Weird. That's only half an hour away. I didn’t think their headquarters were so close,” Sungjin said, turning the keys in the car and already reversing out of the driveway.
-
Th entire car journey I felt like throwing up. Y/N better be safe. I just had to find her and hold her tight.
“Don’t worry Jae, we’ll find her,” Sungjin reassuringly said, his tone calming.
I couldn't utter any words afraid I might crack and break into a cry that I would have no control over. I bit my bottom lip and rested my head in my hands.
Once Sungjin swerved into the massive driveway of the dilapidated building, I swung the car door open. The other three attempted calling me back, before scrambling out of the car and trying to catch up with me.
Sungjin and I usually went to locations with other gangs together while Wonpil would stay in the car busy hacking or doing whatever he had to do on the technological side of things while YoungK would stay hidden nearby, armed and ready to ambush if it came to it.
Wonpil began to type again on his laptop, to see if there was a way to crack their security system.
“This one is tough,” Wonpil sighed frustratingly, running a hand through his hair.
“Ah wait, I got it!” he exclaimed. I smiled at him before Sungjin and I ran over to the entrance where the door had now been opened by Wonpil.
I inhaled a deep breath of air. This is where I would get Y/N back, no matter what was about to happen, I had to ensure that she was safe.
[ your pov ]
In the midst of everything that was happening, you still managed to feel tired and sleepy. However, you jumped up when you heard loud noises and booming voices coming from outside. You tried to listen.
“Where is she?! Y/N? Y/N!” an all to familiar voice yelled.
“Jae!! I'm here! Help Jae please!” You tried to scream back, but your voice was croaky and hoarse. Your cheeks felt sticky and hot from the endless amounts of tears you had cried. Jae was just outside the door. He is here. You'll be safe.
The door flung open to reveal Dowoon, his eyes intense and dark. Two others ran in after him. It was Jae and Sungjin. You had never been so relieved to see either men. Dowoon stood in front of you.
“You know the deal. Give us what we want and you can get her back,” Dowoon said.
You glanced over at Jae and Sungjin to see them looking furious. Jae pulled out a gun and began talking to Dowoon. As Dowoon was distracted by Jae, Sungjin stealthily moved over to you and bent down. He effortlessly untied you from the chair. You mouthed ‘thank you’ to him.
Jae called out Dowoon for being a traitor and demanded answers. You had never seen Jae look so angry, or hold a weapon before since you always stayed out of his gang activities. Dowoon rolled his eyes at Jae and folded his arms.
“Your precious Y/N is going no where until you hand over what we need,” Dowoon snarled, stepping in front of you. As Dowoon stood in front of you, Jae pulled out his gun and aimed for Dowoon’s left leg. As Jae pointed the gun towards him, Sungjin pulled you away from behind Dowoon. Dowoon fell to the floor, hissing in pain and clutching his leg that was now bleeding heavily,
You ran over to Jae and threw your arms around his neck as if your life depended on it. You sobbed uncontrollably into his neck.
“Shh, shh. I got you, I got you,” Jae whispered over and over as he stroked your hair.
“C’mon, we’d better go before anyone realises what happens,” Sungjin announced, running towards the exit.
“W-will he be o-okay?” you stuttered, looking over in Dowoon’s direction to see him crouched over in pain on the ground.
“He’ll be okay, I promise,” Jae reassured you, gently pulling you out of the room and towards the front door.
Once outside in the cool nights air, you hugged Jae again, his grip becoming tighter as he lifted you up.
“I’ll never let you out of my sight again. I can’t ever lose you Y/N,” Jae whispered, leaning down to kiss you.
