Once upon dreams and nightmares... 🥀
Event hostess @bluebird-dolly-bride
Far, far away, in a place where no other man set foot on a land rich in fronds, lived a young boy in an ancient castle bathed in gold.
Spoiled child, gluttonous for power and control to the point of becoming the nightmare of the workers.
Ungrateful brat, as some would say behind their young master's back.
Do you remember, when you almost blinded a servant?
Do you remember, when you punished the butler's son to starvation for grabbing one of your toys?
Do you remember, when you threatened to execute the cook if he used an ingredient that you disliked again?
Time heals all, but so powerful was the malice in the boy's heart, that once he reached adulthood he became completely sick with his darkness.
Some blows were heard at the huge front door, and for the first and only time, the young nobleman decided to open his entrance by himself.
"An apple, just buy me a single apple to feed my family, please sir." An elderly man sobbed, barely able to hold the mentioned fruit firmly in his wrinkled hand.
"Save your words, old man. Who do you think you're talking to? That thing doesn't even resemble a fruit." The raven-haired man spat, fixing his contemptuous gaze on the offer. "
"So give me a little help, then. My family will always be very grateful to you."
A bitter laugh splashed over the old man, poisoning his ears with that teasing smug.
"Your family will be grateful to me? And how that will benefit me? Go back the way you came, old man. I don't want to see your drooping face peering through my windows again, nor your calloused and heavy feet dragging on my marble floor."
Loud rumbles resounded in the sky, and soon it was covered in black clouds, blotting out any sunlight.
A strong and cold wind blew, and to the surprise of all present, the old man was turned into a white-haired youth with a chiseled face to resemble the very own gods.
"For your insolence and cockiness, you will have to learn a lesson. So much evil inside you must be reflected as the devil on the outside equally. Loneliness will be your sentence, because all your close beings will have been objectified. In order to find a cure, as well as two twin seeds of this apple, you will have to find your own reflection before the apple rots into mere rubble.
Be smart, child, and keep close to that person who understands you because it will be the one who can accept your seven hells."
Damn curiosity, and damn her stubbornness.
For having played with the same fate, the young blonde found herself trapped in the Beast's clutches. Rusty bars imprisoned her like a caged bird.
"You were guided to this place in order to carry out your mission. I waited for the return of the burning rays of the sun, and the green meadow returning to dye the borders of my home."
The Beast spoke, leaning against the iron bars to look at his encapsulated rose.
"With your stay here, I will guarantee the eternal upkeep of the apple and—"
"You'll still be a horned beast, excited to see a red apple like a little kid getting candy. Stay delusional, maybe that way you won't go crazy."
The Beauty with the same arrogant poison bathed the Beast.
They were two sides of the same coin, because it didn't take long for the young woman to show how conceited and proud she was.
A reflection of the same face began to be seen.
The same melody being played by two different instruments.
The Beauty and the Beast, would be forever depending on the existence of the other, for the end of time.

Dark Dreams Anthology (DDA)
Dark Dreams Anthology is our biggest project. It englobes our own world, which will be shared in books, manga, illustrations and more in the future. Now, un Tumblr is being shared a smallest part of it through our blog Born of Blood (@blood--king). Still this project had to grow up a lot, and we will love of course to keep ourselves sharing it with you all! But, as creators we empathize a lot with people’s passion that’s why we want to bring you an opportunity to grow up as a community of artist of all kind with…
➤ DDA-Events!
Every fandom has its characteristic, but all of them had in their own measure have dedicated people which are always wanting to show their passion for what they love the most. Franchises are alive for years because of people, of that passion and all the creativity spread selflessly. Original characters, fanfics, theories, all of those are plagued of a dedication hard to ignore. Last year we had been working in a little project in which we called specific people who were interested in share a little bit more of their own world around their fandom under an idea, just to try out. Even if Summer Vibes was little, it was a success, and more important than that, they had a lot of fun. We are ambitious, and we want to share the happiness to explore worlds, fandoms and bring out new ideas and stories, illustrations, mangas, headcanons and anything we can come up with! We will love to, eventually, create every year events directed to those who want to explore their characters and lores under crazy ideas!
So that’s what Dark Dreams Anthology is intending for: create a little corner, a refuge for share with those that loves the same you do. Our intentions? Simple: we are opening a place to share and have fun without any interest than that. You are free to join or to run away, we won’t chase you, but our doors will be always open if you want to share.
Dark Dreams Anthology Events (DDA-Events) is a project for dynamics directed now on Tumblr, and maybe in the future we will made this bigger moving this to other platforms. But one step at once! We will share here a few ideas about how it will work.
Once an idea is proposed you will have a week to inscribe yourself. Sometimes events demand some previous details, but don’t worry. Our DM’s is always open to discuss if you are not sure or if you have doubts!
In this inscription week, those who sign up will receive details and frames needed in the event, so we recommend you to be alert to our updates! Those who don’t get inscribed won’t be included in the Masterpost.
Once everything is settled you will have a month to end up your works, still it will flow in dependance of the people, if all participants end up early, publications will be done sooner than expected! All works will be included in a Masterpost, in which we will give credits to their creators.
Each project will have templates according to what we will be asking for, it could be a frame for an illustration or a story for example. All projects should be framed in the template identified by our logo (the feather you will see down this explanation) but we won’t take your works under our name, all the participants will be always owners of their creations and we will give the deserved credits to them. What means that you can always publish it in your social media without asking us for permission. If it’s an illustration, for example, it will remain intact. The logo will be part of the template only as a symbol to remark collaboration as a courtesy. It will be a way to connect us as a community of artists of all kind and for more people to meet and identify this project.

The King Frog
DDA-Event: Once Upon Dreams and Nightmares.

Transcription:
Once upon a time, there was a girl who enjoyed a luxurious life. Her family had a good position, they all lived in a huge cottage house surrounded by vast terrains in which she always could run, have fun, play with her pets and paint under that starry sky. Even so, something intrigued at the young girl: afar of the fence that bordered her lands it was a dense marsh which curiously attracted her every time she was near of its limits. She came up to her parents to ask for permission to go afar the fence, they, fearful, warned the girl that she never should approach the marsh.
“Legend says that long time ago, a king asked a witch to bless one hundred women, to grant that each one of them would give birth to a son of his, his desired was conceded but his destiny was sealed: once the sons grew up, they fought to death each other for the privilege to be on top and supersede their father. The wish of the king to expand his domains, condemned him and his kingdom to fall. Legend said that the nature devoured his castle and now, in that exact marsh, the king is still trying to acquire by any cost one hundred new sons to erect his kingdom once again”.
The little girl understood the warning her parents gave her and stopped to approach the fence. But one day, distracted, she was pursuing a beautiful butterfly, she wanted to catch it inside a glass to paint it and let it go once she ended up. But, running after the flutter of the winged insect, she tripped up and fell at the other side of the fence, she rolled up in the floor and before she even had the chance to notice it, she was right in front of the marsh entrance. What once were only whispers brought by the wind was now a loud hypnotic calling. The young girl couldn’t resist the temptation and even if the fear took control of her senses, the curiosity made her move her feet. She walked through the woods and the mud until she reached an immense lake. When she arrived, all sounds of the marsh stopped; it was like all animals and insects wanted to be quiet. The only sound that could be heard was a croak without visible providence. From the apparently calm arouse an unexpected sound behind her: A predator? A huge animal with fangs and claws? Was it the king of something else? Was this the end? The curiosity left immediately her body and the fear pushed her to swim inside the lake. Unfortunately for the little get, exhaustion dominate her before she could even reach the other side, the horror frozen her and the tension made her sink. When her little body touched the bottom, she couldn’t believe what her eyes were witnessing: there, sat in his throne consumed by the nature, a man of long locks and green skin wearing a crown. The king was still present. Everything was real. Suddenly her instincts overcame any other emotion, curiosity or fear faded away and only left her desire to live, swim, run and run even faster for her life.
Even stronger was her astonishment when the corpse opened his eyes and stared at her.

death defying acts | bradley "rooster" bradshaw
series summary: Only one percent of US aviators can say they are Top Gun. You weren’t part of the elite aviators for the country, nor someone that quickly climbed the Navy ladder. Your skills and destiny led you to Intelligence work, and you believed you weren’t using your full potential. Until one day you’re transferred to San Diego to work with Captain Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell and The Dagger Squad. New team, new mission, new challenges, and one small problem named Bradley ‘Rooster’ Bradshaw.
this is a bradley "rooster" bradshaw x fem!reader series
general content warning: minors please DNI thank you, lots of inaccuracies regarding the US Navy and aviation (I did my best researching, but some details might have slipped off or I just ignored in order to create my storyline), afab!reader, no descriptions of reader (tried to keep those as broad as possible so anyone could see themselves here), angst, implied and explicit smut, violence, action, implied deaths and lots of fights. for more details, check each individual warnings at the beginning of the chapters.

chapters
file 001 — call sign: Hyde
file 002 — brand new bar, same old problems
file 003 — things never go as planned

series note: the following events take place after the uranium mission seen in the movie. i'm making things up and trying to keep it close to reality as much as possible, but this is fanfic, so chill guys. as per usual, i'm taking requests for scenes or ideas for dda (death defying acts), so please don't be shy and send me those via askbox or dms.
author's note: hi guys! it's me, effie with another fic about hot guys i'd like to— you know what i mean. english is not my first language, and i tend to take a few weeks to update the story, but don't give up on me, ok? anyway, first time writing for top gun: maverick characters, so i'm doing my best with all the details i could pick up from the movie.

Through Blaze of Fire, I'll Find My Way
Chapter 2: The Trade
Hello, all! This is chapter 2 in my ongoing BG3 fanfiction about my Tav and her adventures before the events of the game! I wanna take a second to leave a small content warning for minor domestic abuse! If you feel like you can't handle it, fell free to skip past it.
Once again, all word translations and pronunciations will be at the end!!
Darkness.... There wasn’t anything quite like it, the darkness that came with losing one’s consciousness. The velvet night-black waves that consumed her almost felt like a cold blanket one craved on a hot night. What had happened before this all-consuming darkness? The taste of saltwater hang heavy on Arcane’s tongue. Her fingers ached and burned. Her limbs felt heavy as if encased in lead. She felt as though she was being swallowed whole by some great, hungry beast that held no regard for her existence, as if she was drowning. When suddenly, a weightlessness, a calm settled over her like the gentle morning mist.
Rosewater. The taste danced on her tongue, and filled her nostrils, making every breath she took as sweet as Heaven. She no longer felt cold and desperately alone. Instead, she felt as if she was cradled once more in her mother’s arms, as if she had reached from beyond the grave to rock her baby girl to sleep once more. She found herself floating in a void - no, not a void, water - calm waters that lapped at her sides. Around her, there was naught to see but pitch black, which would normally frighten the young girl were it not for the feelings of love, acceptance, and peace that radiated from within her.
‘You are not alone,’ A voice, a woman’s voice, thrummed through her very being, warm like a crackling fire. This presence wasn’t her mother, but it might as well have been, with her calming radiance, laden with tenderness, washing over her not like a roarous tide, but a gentle wave. ‘I am here with you, my child. You will never be alone again.’
‘Who are you?’ The words filled Arcane’s thoughts. ‘Where am I?’
A brief moment of silence. Arcane tried to swallow the building anticipation that threatened to scare the being away.
‘I am within you, dear’ The voice called back. ‘I am the Mother of the Magic within you. I am She Who Holds All Secrets. I am.... Mystra.’
Arcane’s eyes snapped open, the gray clouds above almost blinding compared to the void she was previously adrift in. Arcane craned her neck to look around, her muscles screaming with every move.
“Is she alright? What happened?”
“I don’t know! She was glowing! She practically tore the beach in half! Look at this mess!”
Father’s voice, and Grandfather’s voice, too! What was happening? Arcane’s vision blurred, the world spun before her as she tried to look around, her mind swimming like a torrential tide, and gods did she ache. The poor girl gasped and panted, limbs twitching as she reached out for anything, anyone to pick her up from the cold, rocky ground. The sound of rocks shuffling underfoot, an older man’s groan, the warmth of hands wrapping under her legs as she was lifted into gentle arms. It was Grandfather!
“Gran.... Gran-dda, I-” Arcane’s voice was hoarse and cracked, the rancid taste of saltwater assaulting her senses once more. She forced her dry throat to swallow, her jaw hanging open, praying any kind of words would fall from her lips. Alas, only one more pitiful, dry groan.
“Shhh, hush now dove. Grandda’s got you. Yer gonna be alright.” He sounded choked like he’d been sobbing for hours on end. “I’ve got you, A stór.” His words echoed in her mind like a mantra, lulling her back to a peaceful slumber.
‘I’ve got you’
‘I’ve got you....’
‘I’ve got....’
Later that night
Arcane wasn’t quite sure what it was that woke her, she didn’t much care, but when she opened her eyes she saw the familiar figure of her grandfather. Hunched over the side of the bed, his long, silver hair tied high upon his head and sun-spotted hand wringing together with anxiety, eyes fixated on the floor below him.
“Grandda,” Arcane’s arms trembled with effort as she pulled herself upright, laying back against the pillows.
Her Grandfather jolted slightly, turning to face her, eyes wide. His lip trembled and eyes glistened with tears, and he hurried to her, kneeling beside her and taking her small hand in his.
“Oh, dovey! Oh, my sweet, sweet girl!” His hands cupped her face, leaning to plant soft kisses on her cheeks, forehead, and nose. “You made me ill with worry! What in Tyr’s name were ye doin’, girl? You could’ve drowned! You could’ve sunk to the depth below and joined yer mother! Then where would we be? Where would yer dear ol’ Grandda be without his little girl?” His fuzzy, white brow furrowed, his face a mix of worry and disappointment.
Arcane’s eyes fell to the soft blanket that covered her legs, shoulders slumped, hands plucking at the woolen fibers as tears filled her eyes. She couldn’t bring herself to tell him that she hoped she’d die, that she would be reunited with her Mother. She wouldn’t be able to live with herself if she ever broke his heart, to know that she left him behind for her selfish reasons. Shame filled her heart like heavy, sea-soaked knots of a fisherman’s net.
“I didn’t want to let Mammy go.... Why did she have to go?” The thick lump in her throat returned, nearly strangling her as she held back her tears. She watched her Grandfather wince slightly, his eyes darting around to find the words.
“Mammy was sick, darlin’. She was suffering, and we couldn’t help her.” He grasped her hands tightly, his gold-speckled blue eyes, glittering and bloodshot, bored deeply into hers. “Sometimes these things just happen. It isn’t fair, it isn’t right, but they happen anyway. It’s not for us to understand, we simply must find the strength to move on.” He sniffled, tears now streaming down his face.
Grandfather was right. It isn’t fair! In what world was it ever okay to steal a child’s mother when they still needed her?! Arcane’s bones burned with the hot rage she felt on the beach, her face red and swollen as angry tears stained her cheeks. With a firm squeeze to her hand, her Grandfather redirected her attention back to him.
“Arcane, look at me. I know yer hurtin’, I know yer still upset, but I need you to tell me what happened on the beach.” She cocked a brow at him, confused by what he meant. Grandfather continued, “You don’t remember? You nearly cracked a new moat around the town! Nearly tossed me overboard, you conjured such a storm!”
Arcane’s eyes widened, her rage quelled by confusion and - dare she admit it - awe. Surly, Grandfather was spinning a tale! He was grief-ridden, his mind was playing tricks on him. She tried to rationalize his words. No, it couldn’t possibly have been her, it was already raining at the funeral, and everyone knew that the earth around Daggerford would sometimes quake! Her vision flickered back and forth, trying to make any kind of sense of what she was hearing.
But then she recalled the voice. The scent of rosewater, the taste of the Weave sweet on her tongue, the vast, endless void in which she found herself cradled.
‘I am Mystra.’
She looked back at her Grandfather, eyes still wide with shock, as a soft smile crept onto her lips. “Grandda.... I have so much to tell you!”
Six years later....
The morning’s winter-chilled air ghosted across Arcane’s bare legs, her pale skin now turned a soft blush-pink hue as she stirred, muscles twitching as she buried her face further into the mattress. The soft brush of Pangur’s fur tickled her cheeks and she reached out to wrap an arm around him, pulling him closer as to share in his warmth. The cat let out a low ‘mrrow’, clearly unhappy by the sudden closeness.
“Ye’ve a blanket right there, y’know.” He grumbled, curling around his mistress’s arms, a soft purr emanating from his chest.
Arcane smiled against his fur. “The blanket isn’t warm like you.” She nuzzled the back of his head, pressing a soft kiss between his ears. “Besides, you know you love these morning cuddles, ya a big softie.”
Pangur grumbled and stretched out his legs, claws accidentally snagging on the frayed bedsheets before finally pulling himself free of her grasp. She heard the soft lap of his tongue against his coat as he worked on his morning bath. As crass and foul-mouthed as Pangur had grown to be, he was always a stickler for cleanliness, always taking however long he needed to groom himself to perfection.
Arcane had nearly drifted back to her sweet dreams when she felt the cold pads of Pangur’s paw batting at her face. She whined, pulling the blanket over her head and giving him a gentle nudge. “Pangur, stop. I’m too exhausted for this!” Her voice was muffled by the blanket. Of course, she could know no peace; Pangur pawed at the blanket, trying his best to exhume his mistress from the gentle lull of sleep.
“Ye can sleep when yer dead, missy! The sun is up, so it’s time for my breakfast!” He continued swatting at her head.
Another whine escaped from under the covers followed by a wave of Arcane’s arm, which had sprung from her cocoon, fingers swirling with blueish-purple hues as she willed the bedroom door to open. “G’wan an’ feed yourself, you beast. Leave me to my rest!” The blanket now pulled taught over her head.
“You’re really gonna leave me to the mercy of your sisters while you lay here all snuggled?” A low growl rolled in Pangur’s chest as he objected.
Arcane poked her head from under the covers, displeasure written plainly on her face. “Aye, and I’ll have a grand time of it, too!” With another flick of her hand, Pangur was grasped by his scruff and carried out safely - if a little haphazardly - to the hallway by a spectral hand, before the door slammed behind him. Arcane’s head fell back against her pillow, eyes tracing the corners of her new living quarters. She had upgraded from sharing a bed with her sisters, now he lived in Grandfather’s room.
Of course, he had no use for it anymore, not since he went missing a few months back. He left no note, no clues as to where he could’ve gone or why he left. Nothing but the room that still held the very essence of who he was. His mountains of spellbooks and tomes, his little trinkets cluttered in every available surface, his knobby-wooden desk in a dusty corner. Arcane couldn’t bring herself to change anything, the deepest recesses of her mind still clinging to the hope that he’d come home one day. Growing up, she’d always known her Grandfather to have many secrets and she learned from an early age it was better not to pry. Who knew what his reasons for leaving were? Of course, Arcane would have appreciated some explanation.
Arcane tilted her head back, peering up at the window above her bed. Rainclouds.... Of course, it was raining. It seemed to always rain in Daggerford. Her cold hands rubbed against her face, wiping away any remnants of sleep that lingered. She pushed herself upright, the rickety bed creaking in protest. Once more, she rubbed her eyes, brushed her hair out of her face, and touched the cold, purple pendant that hung from her neck. It was a gift from Grandfather... or at least she took it as one. Something to remember him by.
‘Alright, Arcane. Time waits for no one.’
With another wave of her hand, the blankets were tossed aside; her legs kicking over the side of the bed and feet planting firmly on the floor. She pulled on her Grandfather’s day robes, taking a moment to smell the garment. Honeysuckle and old books, his scent was fading far too quickly for her liking and she frowned at this. He would’ve been so proud of her, for managing to keep up with her practice. Within a few years, she could successfully cast cantrips; within a few short months, she had even managed to become proficient in the schools of Conjuration and Evocation.
She always hoped that once she grew more skilled, she would be able to leave this tiny town and venture out into the world, see the things she only ever heard in Grandfather’s stories! Alas, she had younger siblings to care for. It seemed as if fate was hells-bent on keeping her here, this seaside prison destined to be her grave. But then a thought occurred to her: Niamh would be turning 9 in the coming Spring! And Caelan was now 16! Surely, she thought, surely they’d be able to care for themselves by then!
Invigorated by the thought, Arcane stepped outside her bedroom and practically skipped down the steps. Naoisa was in the kitchen, preparing what she could for breakfast, though it was clear to the older sister that she was struggling, the grating sound of the spatula against the cast iron pan was like nails on a chalkboard. Arcane cringed and stepped in behind her, taking the spatula from her hands.
“I’ll take it from here, Naoisa. Why won’t you go help Niamh into some clean clothes?” Arcane looked down into the frying pan. What in the hells was Naoisa cooking?! Was that supposed to be eggs? Whatever it was, it certainly wasn’t going to be their breakfast. She blew out a sigh, her breath tousling the free strands of hair in her face. Well, time to get started.
“Ahh, well if it isn’t the wee diabhal.” Arcane’s head snapped up to see Pangur sprawled across the cabinets, peering down at her with his devious blue eyes. A playful smile crept onto her lips.
“The only devil ‘round here, Pangur, is you.” She returned her gaze to the frying pan, tossing out the remaining “food” and dunking it in the wash bucket to scrub away whatever was left behind. “On occasion, it’s Niamh.”
With a fzzz and a whoosh, Pangur appeared on the counter beside her, his fur glimmering faintly as his magic dissipated from the air. He sat, tail folded neatly over his paws and he bowed his head as Arcane’s hand reached to ruffle his fur. His eyes squinted, content with the brief gentle touch.
The morning continued on, breakfast was served and the children ushered out the door to attend their days at school. After the dishes were cleaned, Arcane got herself ready for her workday at Black Stone Inn, the nearby tavern. It wasn’t the nicest of establishments, in fact, it was downright unruly! And the clientele was hardly any better, with the local mariners and occasional foreign ship captains stopping by to drown whatever demons haunted them. Arcane was always careful, she’d found by trial and error that it was better to smile and flash a bit of cleavage to keep the men placated.
Or perhaps it made things worse… After all, it wasn’t wise for a pretty 17-year-old girl to mix with drunken men. Arcane swallowed thickly, squeezing her eyes shut to block out the memories of being groped and jostled by the tavern patrons. She had no other choice. She needed to bring in money for her brothers and sisters. They deserved a better life than what she had! With newfound bolstered resolve and a determined grin, she took a deep breath and stepped inside.
The day passed like a whirlwind storm, with Arcane at its center, zipping about the tavern serving the patrons their drinks, cleaning up messes, breaking up fights. According to her boss, she was the best server he’d hired in a while, praising her speed and accuracy in serving his customers; Arcane agreed. She found it funny to watch her coworkers running around on foot while she teleported with ease, levitating heavy orders high above her head to avoid any spills, and casting charm spells over particularly rowdy customers to avoid fights. For as draining as this job was, as taxing it was on her muscles, she found that she was rather good at it.
By the end of her shift, the light outside was beginning to fade. Arcane collected her tips for the day - 135 gold, not bad! - and headed for home, calling farewells over her shoulder. To her surprise, she found the night was clear, the stars glittering like little souls, the moon casting Her cool blue radiance over the cobblestone streets below. With the stars above her, gold in her pocket, and her loving siblings waiting for her at home, how could anything bad happen?
By the time Arcane made it back, she was greeted by the mouth watering scent of Caelan’s cooking. She didn’t know how he did it, but Caelan could replicate any recipe Mother wrote, down to the last spice! She greeted her siblings one by one before stepping into their small dining room, only to be met by her father... and a familiar, but not particularly welcome, face.
“Arcane, there you are! You remember Master Tavius Suxton, yes?” Father’s hands were folded in front of his face, elbows resting on the table as he gestured to the man sitting across from him. Arcane gave their guest a curt nod, forcing a polite smile on her face. Tavius was a tall, slender man, even sitting down, he was a head taller than Father. His harsh, gaunt features and dark amber eyes lent themselves to his mysterious personage.
“Of course! It’s certainly, uh, interesting to see you here again, Master Suxton.” She approached him, albeit warily, and offered her hand for him to shake. His pale, spindly fingers wrapped around her hand; he was cold to the touch; and he leaned down to place a cold, wet kiss on her knuckles.
“Miss Arcane~” He purred her name in such a way that sent a cold, slimy shiver down her spine. “Enchanting as always to see you again. My, you’ve cut quite the comely figure since last I saw you. How old are you now?” He leered at her body, eyes boring into her as if he saw past her flesh into her soul.
“She’s seventeen.” Father answered before she could. “And she’s been working as a barmaid at Black Stone Inn, haven’t you, dear?” Father smiled, but his eyes were wide and intimidating, promising punishment if she didn’t follow along.
Arcane nodded, her skin crawling as Tavius continued to hold her hand, his thumb dragging across her knuckles. She tried many times to pull away, but Tavius held firm. A nervous sweat began to coat her palms. With one more tug, her hand was free and she wiped her sweat (and Tavius’ saliva) onto her trousers.
“Uhh, yes! I am! It’s honest work and allows me to care for Papa. He’s been so low since he stopped working, haven't you, Papa?” She nearly sneered at her father, her underlying meaning quite clear to him as his eyes twitched. Arcane bowed slightly. “If you’ll excuse me, Master Tavius, I believe I hear Caelan calling me to help with dinner.”
She turned to leave, only to be greeted by Caelan, a heavy pot in his hands. Her soul practically leaped from her body. There was no other excuse she had left to avoid having dinner with Father’s revolting friend. Arcane swallowed her disgust, swallowed her anger, and turned to seat herself at the table. Caelan offered his sister a sympathetic frown, mentally kicking himself at his accidental blunder.
The dinner, suffice to say, was soured by the looming silence that hung over the table. The younger children, none the wiser, excused themselves to go play until only Arcane, Calean, Father, and Tavius were left. Arcane pushed her stew around in its bowl, finding her appetite had miraculously dissipated. The crushing silence was omnipresent, alarmingly quiet until the sound of Father’s chair squeaked against the wooden floors as he stood.
“Well, that was a delicious meal! Well done, Cealan, but if you’ll excuse us, your sister and I have some business to discuss.” Father’s eyes were once again wide.
Caelan shared a nervous glance with Arcane, his hands fumbling in his lap. “Thanks, but, uh, I... I think I’ll stay.” His voice was low, but he knew better than to leave his older sister alone when it came to his father’s “business”.
Father placed his hands on the table, leaning close to a shrinking Cealan as he hissed, “What was that, boy? Speak up! I don’t think we heard you.” The veins on his forehead began to bulge as he scowled at the boy.
“Papa, stop!” Arcane shot her father with a stern glare, her hand on Caelan’s shoulder. “It’s okay, Caelan, I’ll be alright. Papa just wants to talk business.” She emphasized the words, praying her brother would catch the meaning. No business that involved both Father and his “friends” was ever good, and she wouldn’t dare subject her brother to such a situation. Better that he remained in the dark than bare witness.
Caelan chewed on his lip, hesitating to stand. He glanced once more at Arcane, who smiled softly at him, before standing with a mumbled ‘okay’, shooting a resentful glare at their father before retreating up the stairs to his room.
Arcane turned back to the two men with a stoic expression. She folded her hands neatly on the table, back straight against the chair. “I hope you know it’s plain to see what you’re trying to do, Papa. This was no friend stopping by to share a meal with your family, was it?” Her eyes narrowed accusingly.
“On the contrary, sweet thing,” Tavius chimed in. “Your father has found himself in a rather precarious situation that landed him on my bad side. And me being the generous man that I am, I’ve elected to forgive him... for a price, of course.”
“I’ll not play your games any longer, old man, speak plainly!” Her brows knit together as Tavius stood, his dominant figure nearly blocking the light of the quaint chandelier that hung from the ceiling. He circled behind Arcane, cold hands grazing across her bare shoulders, sending one more slimy, biting chill down her spine.
“Very well, my dear.” He leaned over her, placing a small wooden box in her hands.
Arcane eyed the box, looking to her father for an explanation. He merely stared back at her, sweat beading his face; he clearly wasn’t going to give her any answers. Her fingers flicked at the small latch and flipped the lid open. Inside was a ring, a dazzling, blood-ruby stone the size of her thumbnail. The silver band curled cruelly around the ruby like the thorns of a twisted rose. Arcane’s heart skipped a beat, but not from love, from the realization of what was happening. She felt Tavius’ breath, hot against her ear.
“Your father has agreed to trade you for my forgiveness.”
Arcane shot out of her chair, abandoning the ring and knocking Tavius to the side as she did so. Her breath quickened, and her heart beat against her chest. She looked from Tavius, who smiled, all too pleased with himself, to her father, who failed to meet her gaze, his eyes locked on the tabletop. How could he do this?! Her mind raced, trying to make whatever sense she could of the situation and she stumbled backward until her back met the wall.
Tavius towered before her, one icy hand gripping the young girl’s jaw, forcing her to look into his eyes. “Don’t fret, my lamb, don’t fight. Savor these fleeting days of ignorance, dear Arcane, for soon shall you witness the depths of my intentions as the shadows of our impending union arrive with the morning light." His other hand raised to caress her cheek with his fingers, Arcane desperately averting her eyes and attempting to recoil from his touch. “Years of waiting, years of torment, all so I can have you.” Arcane’s heart dropped to her stomach, bile rising in her throat.
Tavius released her face and strode over to her father, where he dropped a sizable pouch in front of him, the coins inside jingling as he did so.
“A pleasure doing business with you, Lorcan. I’ll be back in the morning to collect my belongings.” He turned to look at Arcane once more, the girl frozen against the wall. “See you soon, my lamb~” He was gone in a flash of maroon light, the foul stench of dark magic lingering where he once stood.
Arcane stood paralyzed with fright, tears welling up in her wide eyes. Tavius’ cold touch lingered on her skin like an omen, it made her sick. His touch left her feeling nauseated; like he’d cursed her with the feeling of maggots crawling through her stomach and ice encasing her heart. And now she had been sold to that revolting man.
Because of her father.
The chill of Arcane’s fear was soon replaced by animosity. Her eyes locked onto her father, who sat fingering the coins in the pouch before him. She stormed over to him and snatched the pouch from his hands.
“You vile, shameless excuse of a man! I am not some commodity to be sold, Papa! I will not be bartered away like a mere possession!" She rummaged through the coins, feeling the weight of it in her hands. Judging from the size of the pouch, she wagered the amount to be anywhere from one to two thousand coins. She’d never seen so much money in her life, but it mattered not. “Is this how much you value me? Am I nothing more to you than the worth of a pouch full of coins?”
Father stood from his chair, reaching to grab the money; Arcane pulled away from him, her arm outstretched to keep it from his hands. With a roar, Father launched over the table, eyes blazing with rage as he started to chase his daughter. Arcane fled to the living room, knocking into tables and chairs on her way. Father raged behind her, getting closer with every crash and bang. He cornered her in front of his rickety wooden chair.
“Arcane, you give me that money! It’s not yours!” He shouted. He was close behind her.
“Nor is my autonomy, so it seems! To you, I’m not but a mere trinket, a plaything, a fucking service to be bargained for and pawed at! Mallacht Dé ort!” Her mother’s prose fell from her mouth like a raging storm.
With a reverberating bellow, father launched at Arcane, his arm swinging back to deliver a forceful backhand to her face, his knuckles connecting with her lip. The pouch of gold slipped from her hands, landing with a loud clatter on the floor below. The blow sent her flying back and stumbling onto the couch. Pain seared her face as she held it, a stupefied look plastered over it as she stared at her father. His hands grabbed either side of her face and he yanked her close, his knee holding his balance on the cushions.
“You listen, and listen well, you vexatious little brat!” Hot, whiskey-soured breath fanned over her face. “You will marry Master Tavius and end this foolish notion of independence! You are my child! You are my property! I will sell you the deepest, darkest depths of the hells if I so choose!” With each shout, her father shook her, his words assaulting her with such ferocity, such hatred, it left Arcane speechless.
She gawped at him, tears now spilling freely down her face. Her sobs threatened to strangle her, tightening around her tongue like a spiked vice.
A pitiful “I hate you…” Was all she could muster the strength to say. He released his hold on her face, turning to scoop up the gold from the floor. He glanced over his shoulder at his daughter, who stared unblinkingly at the ceiling, still frozen with fear.
“What a waste of magic…” He muttered, hissing in pain and rubbed his knuckles and made his way upstairs.

❧ Prologue
There was a time in which child eyes dreamed a world full of magic, in which, chevaliers with shiny armors will run their adventures to find out the princess pained for a curse. A world full of dreams to accomplish and there nightmares to impede it. In which everyone was the chosen one in their own story, which would be good or bad, in which a heart, beating by desires, bloomed in roses when they finally accomplished their dream and thorned in pain when they found trapped in a nightmare.
Children still dream, good or bad, even if their form is not from a child anymore. Dreams and Nightmares are not exactly like a shiny chevalier and a cursed princess. Although, we are here, those who write and draw new stories over old ones, which we loved there and we love still.

The DLF sold out 173 apartments of DLF The Dahlias within 9 weeks. The basic price of Dahlias is Rs 73,000 to 80,000 per sq. ft.
Project Overview
Omaxe Dwarka, also known as The Omaxe State. It is a large-scale commercial development spanning 50.4 acres. Omaxe Group launched it in partnership with the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). The Omaxe Dwarka 19B, in which the overall investment was approximately Rs 2500 crore. Launch in July 2024.
The project is expected to be completed by 2027 with Rs 4,200 crore revenue growth potential. It is a RERA-approved commercial project. The RERA registration number is DLRERA2024P0003, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
Location and Connectivity
Omaxe Dwarka is strategically situated in Sector 19B, Dwarka, Delhi. Omaxe Dwarka provides good connectivity through premium highways like the Dwarka Expressway (NH 8), ensuring easy access to South Delhi, Gurgaon, and the rest of NCR. It is located strategically close to Indira Gandhi International Airport, thus positioning itself well within convenient reach of companies as well as tourists. This is also well connected to metro stations like Dwarka Sector 10 and 11 on the Blue Line, which makes it more attractive for commercial investment. The best part is surrounded by the developed sector, which will increase the demand and crowd. This has facilities like schools, hospitals, and markets at convenient distances, thus making it an ideal location for businesses as well as visitors.
Unique Features and Market Impact
It is a one-of-a-kind project in its 5-in-1 complex. It has sporting, shopping, hospitality, social, and food areas. Sport in the form of a cricket cum football field with a capacity of 30,000 people and shopping in the form of a high street market with retail and a food court. This is not the usual fare of Delhi commercial property. A very large number of people are walking or visiting this place. It is looking at it as a business destination. The inclusion of an international sports complex could attract events from across the globe, giving the area an unexpected economic boost.
Investment Points to Consider
Investment varies from Rs. 4.50 crore for certain locations with different amounts based on location and type of retail or food court. The shop areas are from 450 sq. ft. to 33,000 sq. ft. with heights of up to a maximum of 36 ft. 12% guaranteed returns along with a guaranteed lease of 7% have been promised by some sources.

Dwarka is appealing to most multinational companies, start-ups, and IT companies since Delhi is a business hub and boasts India’s second-largest GDP after Goa.
Delhi-NCR property is booming, and it is estimated that there will be a growth of 12%. This indicates that there is a strong possibility of good returns on investment in Dwarka.
