Decades Challenge Rules Update!!!

At last, the long-awaited update to the Decades Challenge Rules has arrived! The update includes My Wedding Stories, Werewolves, High School Years, Growing Together, and all Kits released as of 6/1/2023. I have also worked to capture two years’ worth of base game updates - if you notice that there’s something missing from this update, please let me know!

The biggest change is a MASSIVE overhaul to Aging & Time which was required with the introduction of Infants. Later this week I plan to share a spreadsheet which can serve as a time calculator based on the year each of your Sims is born, so be on the lookout for that soon!

On the second day of the year of our Lord 1301, trouble struck the quiet homestead. While tending to her animals, Peronelle suddenly began to bleed, her strength faltering in an instant. Alarmed, Maurice wasted no time—he rushed to call their neighbor, asking them to watch over little William while he hurried Peronelle to the midwife.

Thankfully, the midwife managed to stop the bleeding, though her face was grave. Peronelle’s body, worn down from working the farm so soon after childbirth and weakened further by gestational diabetes, needed rest. The midwife insisted she stay under her care to recover properly, leaving Maurice to shoulder the burden alone.

With no choice but to press on, Maurice spent the day fishing, gathering, and hunting, pushing himself to provide for his family.

William, still too small to be left alone, was sent to stay with the neighbors. When Maurice finally returned home, his body ached with exhaustion—but his work was not yet done. He still had to care for his son, whose cries of longing for his mother filled the quiet house.

As if fate were testing him further, a burglar broke into the home that night. Though drained, Maurice fought back fiercely, driving the intruder away. Afterward, he gathered his frightened son into his arms, soothing William’s tears and fear as best he could.

The house settled back into uneasy silence, but the weight of it all pressed heavy on Maurice. William, too young to understand, only knew his mother was gone—and he missed her dearly.

I'll be doing the #upgrowthchallenge by HollieBB with a bit of the updated rules from the #DecadesChallenge by Cutecoffeegal, starting in 1890 and then ending in 2080. I will try to keep this simblr updated as much as possible with all the wackiness that it entails and post lookbooks of each character, including all the CC links used. There will be a separate post for all general mods & CC used in gameplay.

I am a bi/demi pale Puerto Rican femme married to a straight white American male and in no way a fashion historian or historian in general. I'm mostly interested in playing these challenges to enrich my gameplay and to be able to expand on the legacy concept, since I've never been able to make it past 1 or 2 generations in regular gameplay. I'm trying to challenge myself to stay committed to this and I will try to do my research in order to portray every ethnic group represented in my stories in the most respectful way possible. If you spot any historical inaccuracies in terms of fashion, buildings, environment, behavior, etc., kindly point them out. Though, please note that I will probably mostly play for funsies and not strictly for historical accuracy.

Helena tightens her corset more to show off her figure, packs on heavy makeup, and wears brightly colored petticoats and skirts to advertise herself to clients.

Dear Sim Diary,

As the sun sets over the quaint town of Widenburg, I find myself reflecting on the whirlwind of events that unfolded in the past year. My name is Agnes, and this journal chronicles the extraordinary journey of my husband Henry and me as we ventured into the uncharted territories of marriage and parenthood.

Widenburg, with its handful of families and vast open lands, became the canvas on which we painted the tapestry of our life together. Henry, with his chiseled jawline and unwavering work ethic, managed to fashion a cozy abode for us from the raw materials of our dreams. Our home, a testament to his craftsmanship, stands proudly against the rural backdrop of our new life.

Our journey into self-sufficiency began with the cultivation of our expansive land. Armed with a hoe and determination, we foraged and planted crops that would soon become the lifeblood of our budding homestead. As I pen down these words, I can hear Henry's distant call for help in collecting the eggs from our growing brood of chickens. Our home is filled with warmth, love, and the promise of a new life. The pages of this diary will undoubtedly unfold to reveal more tales of our simtastic journey in the years to come.
