Not that a piece of media didn't sit well with me, I've written many spiteful pieces because of people in my life.

I speak German and English fluently, and my mom has like 3 nicknames she will call me over my name. Instead of saying Decoda or Dec, she'll be like: "Komm her mein Schatz/spatz/kashperl/engelle" whatever Austrian dialect she chooses. And I call my mom and dad mama and papa over mommy and daddy whenever I speak to them. This goes for partners in my family too. My mom rarely calls my dad by his name and vice versa. They'll usually call each other Schatz (treasure) and I'll call my sibling arsch (ass) because I love them lol and that's how we are. Same goes in English. I call them bitch constantly and vice versa. My mom prefers German swears when speaking English and I prefer English swears when speaking German. It honestly depends on the person and who they're talking to. OP summarized this entire experience so perfectly though and I give them a massive gold star for that. Thank you, OP <3

To answer the question: absolutely yay

This is such a specific pet peeve that I know is petty but

As a linguistics major who is also trilingual and has real life experience code-switching (changing from one language to another) mid-sentence on the daily, one of the BIGGEST bothers to me in fanfics is when it happens unnaturally. 

I get that we all think ‘wow, a character suddenly speaking in another language is sexy ;)’ but the truth is, there are natural AND also really awkward and unnatural ways to codeswitch, and unless you have first-hand experience, there is a high risk that your sexy insertion of a foreign word in the middle of a sentence is actually making someone who speaks that language natively cringe just a little bit.

And - I want to make this clear - that’s not your fault! It’s a difficult thing to write well. 

But I beg you, if you are using a REAL language in your fanfics (not a made-up conlang), please find a native speaker to check your work, don’t just pick random words and don’t just insert them into the slot where the English word would go.

Hello! How would Decoda react to a surprise party?

Oh, hey there! Thank you so much for the ask!

Dec would probably first and foremost be surprised and confused, then she'd probably burst into tears and go hug whoever planned it. She's not used to parties but loves them if they're literally the kind of parties one throws for a kids birthday party. Both her and I don't see the appeal in any other kind of party.

Hey! Could you tell me a bit about the bestiary? Maybe your favourite creature (at the moment, I know those change a lot)? I love extensive worldbuilding!

The bestiary started out as a school art project. I just developed it more and more until I had made a fair amount of creatures for Gaia (my verion of earth). Then I kept it up with The Beneath (my version of hell).

My favourite creature is probably the first to be mentioned in the series. It's called the Endoran, translated from Karmarean into Common Tongue as Night Crawler. It hunts at night and its skin is weaved of strands of darkness. It has four green eyes and it's large mouth filled with massive glowing green teeth cqn rip into any Gaian that gets close to it qnd doesn't know it's weakness. They hunt in packs of 4-6 and are the size of large wolves. The Endoran inhabit 2 regions on the continent of Aslen. The Rollent and Skladmir regions which have been known to be magical epicenters, as rhe author of the Bestiary describes them.

[Ok so I don't have any pictures of the Endoran but I'll add that when I get to working on the bestiary again]

My second favourite creature is called the Vorrem. This is a massive Moose sized beast with the body of a bear, paws of a lion, head of an Endoran, ears of a bat and the bite force of a Hyena. This beast can run, swim and jump farther than most Gaians and hunts the Joorlin species. It stays away from Karmarean Villages, because the dwarf like Karmareans hunt them. The Vorrem are very rare and can live up to I believe 500 years? I'll need to update that if it's wrong. They can't climb trees, but they have been known to rip them up by the roots to get to their more dexterous prey. Vorrem unhabit Karmaro, but there are no magical epicenters there, which leads experts to believe that the Vorrem are ancient Aslantian beasts that were stranded on Karmaro when the Gods split the continents a little over 300 years ago. It is thought that they are old Endoran because of the similarities in their facial features.

All the creatures in The Beneath will come much later. I've made a few posts about it. I'll link those below.

What’s their sense of humor like? Do other people enjoy it? Do they laugh at their own jokes?

Decoda likes puns and Elliott loves them. Whenever she makes them, which is rare, and Elliott is nearby, he'll most likely burst out in hysterical laughter.

Michelle loves jokes with punchlines and Selvan never understands them but Kaylum likes them a lot. He doesn't find them as funny as he finds Anthony's dark humour, but he admires the wordplay just as much as with Decoda's puns. Herross has never been the joking type and all his jokes are either irony or sarcasm. Kaylum also can't make intentional jokes for the life of him. Alex just likes to hear them. She is only sucessful when the jokes are accidental, or when she's trying to flirt.

So the jokesters are Michelle and Anthony and sometimes Decoda.

11. What song has the most relatable song lyrics to you?

Atm it's probably Chöre by Mark Foster. It's a German song, but its basically, imo, about someone willing to do a whole lot for another person. Me @ all my friends tho. The singer is trying to understand an cheer up someone who isn't doing too well. It resonates with me, because someone I dearly adore went through some crap and they're doing much better. I'm insanely proud of them. That song reminds me of the passion and determination I felt and still feel for them whenever they struggle.

Same thing goes for Brother by Kodaline

19. Power of invisibility or flight?

Flight because I would be able to see things from a different perspective and travel pretty quickly. Surfing feels like what I would imagine flight to feel like. I'd love to fly if thats true.

1. "Abby... do you ever stop and think about what you've done?" The boy asked. He was a few hundreds of years old but it was nothing compared to her. Abby smiled and took they boy's unscathed hand.

"I have told you the story. I have thought about it, and every time I do, I am proud to have done what I did." She told him thinking back to the thief she had cursed.

2. "Why are you like this, father?"

"Because I want to bring greatness to our realm. I want to secure my rule and secure your future as my successor."

4. "What made you into... that?"

"You did... you did, brother. You and Norvek perpetuated the grief and sorrow into madness. You are the reason I ravaged the Gaian plains one thousand years ago."

5. "Mara... let me as you a question."

"Y-yes, my Queen?" She asked, her voice trembling in fear as I loomed above her.

"When was the last time you were truely happy?" I asked her. She looked at me, her crow like face warped in a way I'd never seen it before. She was fearful.

6. "Do you actually enjoy hurting other people?" He asked his younger brother, wielding a bloody stick.

"People? No. Animals... they don't matter. I may just consider you an animal."

"Carv...?" He mumbles as the boy raises the stick above his head.

7/8. He ran as quickly as his legs would allow him to, full well knowing that his wife and daughter were safe.

"Danté!" He heard a familiar call from behind him. He skids to a halt and turnst to see his brother wielding an orb infused with the purest of Fearblight.

"Do you really think it's too late for you? For you to join me and my battalion? Danté! Brother! Join me in my wish to rule every realm!"

"Carvarak... you sick bastard! Who are you going to fight when there's no one left?!"

"Halt! State your name and your business in Nefeli!"

"Oh... I have visited so many times before. Don't you remember me?" Both guards' eyes widen as they fall to the ground and his Joyal Magesty enters the gates.

how are things going with your book(s)? anything milstones reached recently?

Hi! Yeah, I have 8 chapters left of Malion: Up In Flames and when I'm done, I'll publish it on quotev! I'm probably going to finish within this month, which I'm pretty excited about ^-^

I'm hoping the ending will be wonderfully bittersweet.

Let me know if you would like me to publish chapters on quotev like I do for wattpad. That might make it seem quicker and like I'm actually making progress.

Would your character tell a lie to get out of trouble? If their life was in peril, and no one would know of their actions, would they allow someone else to die so they can live?

Earlier in her life, Decoda would have done all she could to save the people around her, even if she didn't know them, even if it vost her her life. In the future however, Decoda realises how important the lives of those around her are to her and if it came down to it, and someone she didn't know had to die and it would go undocumented, she would sacrifice them to stay by her friend's sides in order to help them as best she could.

She does become a lot less harmfully selfless later on in my series.
