I See the Light
Written By: Glenn Slater & Alan Menken
Artist: Mandy Moore & Zachary Levi for Tangled
Released: 2010
“I See the Light” is a romantic duet in Tangled between Rapunzel and Eugene. It is sung when Rapunzel is finally achieving her lifelong dream to see the floating lanterns. The song was nominated for best song at the 83rd academy awards but lost to “We Belong Together” from Toy Story 3. “I See The Light” was originally called “You Are My Forever,” and was a reprise of a song Mother Gothel sung to Rapunzel, before being removed. After “You Are My Forever” was removed, the song was still different from what it was in the finished film. It was an anthem-like song at first but Alan Menken decided it should be more gentle.
[RAPUNZEL] All those days watching from the windows All those years outside looking in All that time never even knowing Just how blind I've been Now I'm here blinking in the starlight Now I'm here suddenly I see Standing here it's all so clear I'm where I'm meant to be And at last I see the light And it's like the fog has lifted And at last I see the light And it's like the sky is new And it's warm and real and bright And the world has somehow shifted All at once everything looks different Now that I see you [FLYNN] All those days chasing down a daydream All those years living in a blur All that time never truly seeing Things, the way they were Now she's here shining in the starlight Now she's here suddenly I know If she's here it's crystal clear I'm where I'm meant to go [FLYNN & RAPUNZEL] And at last I see the light [FLYNN] And it's like the fog has lifted [FLYNN & RAPUNZEL] And at last I see the light [RAPUNZEL] And it's like the sky is new [FLYNN & RAPUNZEL] And it's warm and real and bright And the world has somehow shifted All at once everything is different Now that I see you Now that I see you

I Wanna Be Sedated
Written By: Johnny Ramone, Joey Ramone & Dee Dee Ramone
Artist: Ramones
Released: 1978
A song about occasions where getting chemically knocked down is preferred to the boredom, inspired by life on the road: “It’s a road song. I wrote it in 1977, through the 78. Well, Danny Fields was our first manager and he would work us to death. We would be on the road 360 days a year, and we went over to England, and we were there at Christmas time, and in Christmas time, London shuts down. There’s nothing to do, nowhere to go.” -Joey Ramone
[Chorus] Twenty-twenty-twenty four hours to go I wanna be sedated Nothing to do nowhere to go-o-oh I wanna be sedated [Verse 1] Just get me to the airport, put me on a plane Hurry, hurry, hurry before I go insane I can't control my fingers, I can't control my brain Oh no-o-o-o-o [Chorus] Twenty-twenty-twenty four hours to go I wanna be sedated Nothing to do nowhere to go-o-oh I wanna be sedated [Verse 2] Just put me in a wheelchair, get me on a plane Hurry, hurry, hurry before I go insane I can't control my fingers, I can't control my brain Oh no-o-o-o-o [Interlude] [Chorus] Twenty-twenty-twenty four hours to go I wanna be sedated Nothing to do nowhere to go-o-oh I wanna be sedated [Verse 3] Just put me in a wheelchair, get me to the show Hurry, hurry, hurry before I go loco I can't control my fingers, I can't control my toes Oh no-o-o-o-o [Chorus] Twenty-twenty-twenty four hours to go I wanna be sedated Nothing to do nowhere to go-o-oh I wanna be sedated Just put me in a wheelchair, get me to the show Hurry, hurry, hurry before I go loco I can't control my fingers, I can't control my toes Oh no-o-o-o-o [Outro] Ba ba baba, baba ba baba, I wanna be sedated Ba ba baba, baba ba baba, I wanna be sedated Ba ba baba, baba ba baba, I wanna be sedated Ba ba baba, baba ba baba, I wanna be sedated

Jeffrey Ross Hyman (May 19, 1951 – April 15, 2001) is known professionally as Joey Ramone and is best known as the lead vocalist and songwriter of the punk band the Ramones. Joey was also known for his pop-like lyrics and lanky body structure. As a teen, he was a fan of bands like The Beatles, David Bowie, and The Who, especially Pete Townsend. He began playing the drums at 13 and then started playing the guitar at 17. He played with a band called Sniper for a little bit. He later co-founded Ramones with his friends John Cummings and Douglas Colvin, best known as Johnny and Dee Dee Ramone. The band adopted the stage name "Ramone" from an early Beatles reference. The original lineup was Joey on the drums and Dee Dee on vocals. But Dee Dee wasn't the best, singing and playing the bass. Their manager couldn't find a suitable drummer Thomas Erdelyi (Tommy Ramone) played drums because they couldn't find a drummer. Despite only having minor commercial success with Ramones, they left a big impression on music and pop culture when they were still playing. Joey Ramone is he was punk without having an aggressive or tough attitude. Joey and Ramones are synonyms with punk; he is an icon in punk and pop culture.

"I didn't want the Ramones being told what to be doing, and I wanted the Ramones being presented in the right light - the remaining Ramones."
