I DON'T THINK THE INCONSISTENCIES IN THE JAPANESE VERSION OF THE GASTER VALENTINE MEAN ANYTHING.

ok some ppl have pointed out that the japanese version of the gaster valentine uses hiragana and not gaster's usual stilted katakana, as well as the casual tone that doesnt line up with the very formal way of speaking gaster has been shown to use in other dialogue.

but i dunno man... those could be explained away by just. gaster is speaking more casually. i mean he does come across as more casual in the english version as well.

my main reason for leaning towards disregarding this is that i mean... who the hell else would it be?? even disregarding the odd phrasing, the note about the whole thing apparently being illegible until we somehow can read it, the comments about being forgotten, the entire letter mysteriously disappearing...

they literally say "HOW IS DELTA RUNE?"

again, even disregarding that that's the same way gaster formats/spells it in the announcement tweets, who else would know about deltarune??? like as a Thing? it doesn't make sense (under our current understanding of things, at least) for ANYONE ELSE other than gaster to know about deltarune as a game/program. (and its clear from the phrasing they are not talking about the symbol from undertale, before you wanna be a smart ass lmao)

i really think that the inconsistencies in the japanese version could just be attributed to him speaking more casually. it is a valentine's day letter, after all.

First actual Tumblr post: Who am I? Well let me tell you...

Hello Tumblr! This is my first time back to this site in AGES. I’ve had many blogs, all under various names, and most of them probably still exist but I have forgotten their names...probably for the best. But my name is Jay! I also go by BlubirdJay, NeonBlujay, etc...

I’m an indie TTRPG developer who used to work under the aliases of Delta, Deltaflashback and/or TheDeltaZone. When I first started creating, I made D&D 5e homebrew content in a series I called ‘Pixels to Pen and Paper’, taking popular video game franchises and converting enemies, weapons and various magics to D&D 5th Edition. Around this time last year, however, I released my first, more ambitious project...a full-fledged Hollow Knight TTRPG called Masks of Fate, built in my own system that I called the RUNE System, where I sought to take the concept of a deckbuilding game and implement it to a tabletop setting. As of now, I’m slowly getting back into TTRPG development, with the intention to fully revamp the Hollow Knight TTRPG as a brand new, completely original game called Masks of Fate: Unhallowed, being built in an updated and refined RUNE System, which I will also be releasing a sourcebook for alongside the new game when they’re both ready.

Okay so now that we have the pipis post AND the spamton q+a I feel like we have a lot more context on the Noelle, spamton and egg situation now:

Spamton wasn't Noelle's digital pet egg - that was likely the 'white one' spamton talks about. Possibly linked to the man behind the tree who gives us eggs, or a future secret boss?

Spamton's spam emails (furthering the theory that he's a corrupted email client) contained random strings of numbers and letters that nobody ever opened - Noelle is the only one to ever open one of his emails and use its contents and that's why he knows her and appreciates her

It's always felt so weird that this room looks so much like it'd fit in with waterfall despite being on the opposite side of snowdin - and it's right next to that little house you can see at the bottom that someone occasionally steps out of, too. AND it has the delta rune on the door, AND it's the room Toby is working in... Idk, there could be an interesting connection there :o

Absolutely hilarious and incredible to me that the deltarune fandom has seemingly gone from 'krusie and kriselle are lesbian erasure' to 'oh shit, lesbian polycule real?' within the past year 😂 especially bc it feels like there's a lot more general awareness + respect of kris being nonbinary than there used to be!

My #1 post of 2022

Don't think I've seen this pointed out yet, but Susie saying this to kris implies we're in for some really great Toriel content in chapter 3, a very high chance for some fun susie and toriel interactions, and perhaps toriel being a little silly and finally letting loose a little 👀

It's also possible they'll get to talk to asgore some more in hometown, and/or that asriel will be back! Toriel said asriel will be there next week, and most people figure that since there was talk of no school and going to church, chapter be 3 will be Sunday... Maybe he'll come home on Monday?

Edit: upon further thinking, I think chapter 3 will probably just take place overnight and chapter 4 will be Sunday, since that'd give kris and Susie the time they need to explore town. Makes me feel Asriel is less likely - could still happen if he decides to surprise them a day early though, or if toriel considers Sunday the first day of the week!
