My headcanon is that River/Melody is not the baby Amy was pregnant with. Hear me out. Why did Madame Kovarian kidnap Amy while she was pregnant and not just take the baby after it was born?

My best guess is that it was to monitor whether the baby was developing like a Time Lord: two hearts, an ectospleen, etc. But the true test was whether it could regenerate. So she started small, hurting the fetus to see if it could heal itself, and it did.

Eventually, "to know with absolute certainty," she killed the baby just to see if it would regenerate. It did, and regenerated into the River/Melody we know.

This is what I mean when I say River/Melody is not the baby Amy was pregnant with, not to begin with. That one died before it was even born.

Is it dark and morbid? Yes. But Demons' Run was a horror story. We don't really know what happened during Amy’s time there, and knowing Madame Kovarian, I fully believe this could’ve happened.

We all know the poem 'When A Good Man Goes To War' from the Eleventh Doctor's run, right?

The one that goes like this:

Demons run when a good man goes to war,

Night will fall and drown the sun,

When a good man goes to war.

Friendship dies, and true love lies,

Night will fall and the dark will rise,

When a good man goes to war.

Demons run, but count the cost;

The battle's won, but the child is lost.

I was thinking about it this afternoon and what if the 'good man' refers to Rory going to war for his wife, and the demons are the Doctor?????

Cause after the battle of Demons Run, the Doctor immediately went searching for Melody.

He was RUNNING around the universe looking for her.

And I know some people are gonna be like "but the Doctor is a good man!" and "*insert some other defense here*"

BUT

You forget that in the same episodes, the Doctor literally says:

"Good men don't need rules. Today is not the day to find out why I have so many."

He himself doesn't believe he is a good man. He has killed a shit ton of people AND is dangerous enough to get locked up in the Pandorica sooooo

Febuwhump Day 5 - not trusting reality

context: Doctor who, Young Melody, Demons Run warnings: mention of murder and death, but no explicit description. Borders on child abuse

Hate was a strong word.

But Melody Pond HATED Madame Covarian.

Once again, they had put her in the room. That room, she also hated. Because nothing she saw in here was real, but when she got hit by something it still hurt. It was always full of smoke, that gave her headaches.

This time was especially cruel.

"Melody Pond." She saw the smoke around her withdraw and the images disappear. At the door, one of the soldiers was waiting for her. "It's time to eat."

So, she put the crossbow that was almost as big as her back in its place and followed the man through the corridors.

Something felt off, but it always did when she first came out of the smoke, so she didn't think anything of it.

Melody always got her food in the Cafeteria, the same as the soldiers, but never ate with them. She sat alone at a small table in the corner, facing the wall with a screen. Thursday was poison-day, so she watched as different plants came on and, in her head, listed their effects

She only hadn't even had a single bite when behind her people started screaming. Taken completely by surprise, she whipped around, only to see Sontarans storming through the doors, shooting the soldiers.

The little girl didn't know what to do. Five years of training, yet she had never had to fight anyone real. Her life had never been in danger like this.

The only real exit was blocked. Maybe she could hide in the kitchen. The kitchen would be good. There were knives and hot things.

She ran along the wall toward the small door, but just as she was about to reach it something heavy hit against her head.When she woke up again, she found herself on the floor of the training room.

Confused, she looked around to see Madame Kovarian standing in the doorway, eyeing her critically. "We will do this more often from now on."

"What happened?", Melody asked, looking up at the older woman.

"You're being trained. You need to learn to be prepared for battle even when you don't expect it. Surprise can get you killed", she explained coolly.

"Come on. Back to your room. It's time for your 43-minute rest."

It makes little sense that they let Amy ever see her daughter. It makes no sense to: let Amy name her daughter; let Amy breastfeed her, since Melody calls her "big milk thing"; or to take any pictures of the two together, as shown in Melody's orphan home room in the Day of the Moon 2 parter. It doesn't even make sense than Mels would know Amy & Rory are her parents unless the Kovarian Chapter wanted her to know for some odd reason? They could have made Amy give birth then taken her away immediately never letting Amy see her. (And probably killed Amy directly after) Maybe thats a bit too realistic, extra traumatic, and harsh for a PG-13 show though.

DEMONS RUN WHEN A GOOD MAN GOES TO WAR

i have such a love for characters who descend into madness or villainy out of deep, deep empathy. characters who fundamentally cannot cope with the cruel realities they find themselves in and blow up about it in spectacular fashion. fallen angel type characters with tears of outrage in their eyes. characters who break before they bend, and break so badly they splatter blood all over their noble ideals. every variation on it gets me so good

In Hellhold town, u here about two demon hunters, who went down after a specific big lesser demon. It's a Dragonborn demon who ate two dwarf demon s and can use both their enlarge abilities. A lesser demon can sometimes do this but it's an abnormal, v rare. These two have to be warned, as PCs saw when first entering Hellhold, a Dragonborn demon explodes hell fire from their mouth when slain. These two don't know that (DB Demons are new) and the helljumpers think they really need to be warned.

The ice wizardess is cursed to be an aura of cold which makes everyone around her uncomfortable, except the guy, who was cursed that if he was ever warm, he'd grow proportionaly slower, as a curse. But he's immune to the discomfort by now and he found that EXTREME cold, actually unintentionally makes him hasted. And so they pair up and went to chase down this most prestigious prey
