general observations (cyberpunk 2077)

just to preface, i’ve not played through the main story at all since 2021 on my base playstation four and i’m currently replaying on my playstation five. i played as fem!corpo!v both times. this will probably have continued updates as i get further into the endgame.

“don’t look now, but that’s jenkins’ girl.” i know it’s probably not intentional but that sounds like a loaded statement.

the way kerry calls fem!v “doll” is so fuckin’ cute.

wakako calls her “honey” which again, very cute. also was dying at her “is this the dali lama?” when v sarcastically implies she simply couldn’t fathom murdering for money.

the peralez’s are one of those couples and i cannot get that out of my head.

fuck the voodoo boys. i didn’t pay much attention the first play-through and ended up siding with them because of how much the game makes it clear that you shouldn’t trust corpos and i hadn’t wrapped my head around the evelyn stuff. choose netwatch and felt a little better this time.

joshua still makes my skin scrawl and i dislike those like him irl but i wish we had more interactions like what happened with vasquez - him seeing v as a legitimate dangerous liability. (i’m genuinely surprised they didn’t do that with river, surely he done some digging into v?)

i’m terribly paraphrasing but i’ve noticed there is a couple of thugs in a coronado / arroyo side mission that are like “yo, that’s v.”

i saved brick and royce, kinda disappointed you’re stuck with royce in the totentanz mission - nice to see dum dum remember v by name and how nippy v gets over jackie’s mention.

honestly i just wanted more of the ol’ samurai geezers.

i forgot just how many npc’s hit on fem!v in comparison to male!v like, fingers guards, jacob, the roadie, general population, the bargest guards when leaving the black sapphire (that might be both v’s), they also say “ooh! you little whore!” and also kerry’s “nice rack” dig at johnny. not to mention how many folk call her a bitch, slut, cunt and white during combat.

skippy’s disturbia never gets old, especially considering it’s seventy-years-old at that point.

i still don’t understand why there isn’t an option to give kerry back his guitar - that he clearly wants back - if you’ve met him before the padré side-quest.

really not a fan of having to build quickhacks when you’re essentially buying a blueprint.

“where’s kerry been hiding you?” oh he definitely told them the ‘new output’ shtick.

jesus christ it is so much easier to make money now.

i know it’s the future and things are a little more blasé plus he’s an old, jaded rockstar but i was a little taken aback with just how much kerry calls us cracks “whores, cunts, sluts and bitches” like chill.

corpo!fem!v is the perfect foil to johnny. also love how some the most notable people in johnny’s life are women. alt, rogue, denny, nancy and depending on your choice, v.

i don’t really ship johnny with v, but the “old married couple” dig was spot-on.

i’m personally conflicted on so-mi, but i’d probably lean towards saving her. that said, i fundamentally believe v wouldn’t. she’s looking for a lifeline and so-mi purposely dangled it over her. she’s not got beef with the nusa, they’re offering what so-mi cannot.

still cannot stand the photo-mode filters.

i’m forever curious about the sobchak cut storyline that was given to river and takemura.

vik’s mocking, “ooOOoooh” towards zetatech and not being allowed drink on the job.

leigh’s acting when johnny simply takes v’s body after the rogue arasaka mission and just the entire langley section are so well executed. v and river’s farewell’s in langley and in the badlands will always break my heart.

sampson’s grave just read’s “he loved his car.”

Following up on that Rise of the Third Reich and Fall of the Weimar Republic post: 

For the U.S, the election of 2016 was THE inflection point setting us on the road to homegrown fascism. Democratic victories in 2020 was just the first step in correcting the course of the Ship of State. Unfortunately, Trump had four years to corrupt and hollow out our institutions in a way that cannot be fixed within a mere two years. 2022 is the breaking point. It's vitally important that Democrats hold the House and expand their majority in the Senate.  If Republicans gain control of the House and Senate, it is effectively GAME OVER for the United States as a free, non-fascist nation. The frightening repressive laws targeting LGBTQ+ people, women, and racial minorities that Republicans have instituted in the states they control are a test bed for what they will force through at the Federal level should they gain control of the legislative branch.

With theocratic fascist Republicans in control of both the Legislative and Judicial Branches of government, the Executive Branch is effectively castrated.

To avert disaster, we MUST win on Election Day. 

We MUST turn out in numbers too great for our votes to be effectively suppressed, and we MUST vote for Democratic candidates, no matter who they are.

In the New America the Christian Dominionist Republicans envision, women and children are property, to be used, abused, controlled and raped in whatever manner patriarchal society sees fit, and those who seek to protect them will be outlawed, persecuted, and prosecuted to the fullest extent of their sick, dehumanizing, draconian laws.

So, yeah, keep withholding your votes from the Democrats to "send a message" because they're "not inspiring you" enough.  Keep punishing and tearing down the only party at least fucking trying to preserve the values you fucking claim to hold dear.

Or better still, just give up the pretense and come out in public support for the twisted sick Republican fucks since parts of you in your secret dark fantasies find the world of submissive women and children who know their place and have no recourse to a societal defence that such "good Christian men" envision appealing. And that this particular corruption scandal is worse than RAMPART- LAPD. An employee within the County of Los Angeles District Attorney's Office stated that the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Alex Villanueva AKA Detective Joe Vasquez/Vazquez-Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Detective- Lomita Sheriff’s Department, including, but not limited to, are trying to " bury this criminal activity from the public. B. The "baseball bat" attack against the victims is on video tape, and the criminal perpetrators [one of them works with the public and has children to] have not been prosecuted or incarcerated. Extremely dangerous and both are free in Los Angeles County, thanks to Alex Villanueva. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department PRA Discovery Unit committed [PERJURY] and falsified information in correlation to the 911 EMERGENCY CALL made to save the victims from death. The true and known unabridged 911 EMERGENCY CALL, TRANSCRIPT AND MEDICAL RECORDS have been preserved, and are under the control and protection of a higher authority[ to be posted]. Including,but not limited to the Los Angeles County Executive Board ,and the California Attorney General ,and the Department of Justice; all of which are very much aware of this illicit criminal activity. [JUSTICE MUST BE SWIFT] . The families of the criminal perpetrators are known crystal meth manufacturers and dealers working with a known Hispanic Gang in Lomita, California. The car wash on Lomita Blvd. was used in connection to the illicit criminal activity. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department- Lomita Station Detective Units know, and knew of the illicit criminal activity, and yet these criminal perpetrators are free. In addition, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department keeps the cash it seizes in drug raids, and allows the drug activity to continue, and the criminal perpetrators to be protected from prosecution and incarceration. The Lomita Sheriff’s Station is the new RAMPART. Demand that a TRUE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT CONSENT DECREE BE IMPLEMENTED TO PROSECUTE THE GUILTY AND IN DOING SO IT WILL REINFORCE THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE PEOPLE OF CALIFORNIA, ESPECIALLY THOSE IN LOS ANGELES COUNTY.

C. This particular illicit criminal activity by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is directly linked to the Harbor Division LAPD Police Department. It not only only involves the falsified content of a Search and Arrest Warrant, but the actual forging of the Judges signature on the Search and Arrest Warrant. In existence is on or about 1 dozen forged Search and Arrest Warrants. Helping to conceal this abomination of law; including ,but not to, is Judge Terry J Hatter.

D. The F.B.I confirmed that the signatures were forged, as did multiple handwriting experts. The aforementioned documents do exist, and are to be posted.

E. Co-conspirators assisting Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Alex Villanueva AKA Detective Joe Vasquez/Vazquez-Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Detective- Lomita Sheriff’s Department including, but not limited to, Judge Gia Bosley, certain employees within the County of Los Angeles Torrance District Court, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Detective Osborne . The guilty should be prosecuted under RICO.

F. Involved in an attempt to conceal the Forged Search and Arrest Warrants including, but not limited to, James Hahn, Janice Hahn, former California Attorney General Kamala Harris . OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE. The evidence supports the allegations. The Los Angeles County Charter should be revoked, in addition to the City of Los Angeles, and the LAPD being placed under total United States Federal Government Authority.

Lakers don't have clear answer on Russell Westbrook's future

  For the first time since the sputtering end to their 2022 season, the Lakers’ principles gathered in a room to discuss why their upcoming campaign will be different. And in the face of question after question about Russell Westbrook’s fit with the current roster, the only thing clear is the Lakers still don’t have an answer. Nearly everyone of import was asked about Westbrook—in the final year of a contract that will pay him $47.1 million this year—and all of them, including Russ himself, did not sound nearly as excited about the former MVP’s presence as they did a year ago. (Even the customary photo op was subdued.) When asked if he could commit to Westbrook being on the team at the end of the season, basketball operations head Rob Pelinka demurred, offering platitudes about how the front office would look into all routes to improving the roster, which is not exactly a vote of confidence for Russ’s long-term future. Pelinka even made sure to add that the Lakers would be willing to part with first-round draft picks in a potential trade to bolster the rotation—long believed to be the price to move Westbrook’s contract. When asked if Westbrook, who has not come off the bench since his rookie year, would start for the team, new head coach Darvin Ham said, “We’re ways away. We have several options.” He went on to add players with a defensive mindset will be given priority when it comes to playing time. (The Lakers had a 113.5 defensive rating with Russ on the floor last season, per Cleaning the Glass.) LeBron James and Anthony Davis both expressed faith playing with Westbrook could still work, though they didn’t exactly dive into specifics. Davis said Russ needs to continue to be himself, which, when considering Westbrook’s efficiency to usage ratio, doesn’t quite hold up to scrutiny. James said Russ could still be successful in Los Angeles, though again not really outlining how that would function while on the floor. Meanwhile Patrick Beverley, a long-time Westbrook nemesis, claims Russ has been his best friend since he joined the team. This had to be clarified specifically because of how heated the rivalry has been between the two players for years. It’s also possible if not likely Beverley ends up starting and Westbrook does not, which has the potential to create an awkward dynamic for a player (Russ) who had issues with his playing time at points last season. And as for Westbrook himself, he summed up the questions surrounding his spot on the team succinctly: “Whether they want me here or not doesn't really matter,” he said. In an ideal world, regardless of his contract, someone as talented as him could find a way to tweak his game to better complement the stars on his team. Instead, as long as he’s on the roster, he serves as a constant reminder for how precipitously the Lakers have fallen since their championship run in 2020. Westbrook alone is not responsible for Los Angeles’s current predicament—fighting simply to make the playoffs as opposed to being seen as a contender—but he’s the symbol for a head-scratching roster construction. Why there are still so many players on this team who can’t quite shoot and can’t quite defend remains a mystery. With or without Westbrook in the rotation, Ham will have his work cut out for him trying to coax championship-level 3-and-D play from the likes of Lonnie Walker IV, Kendrick Nunn, Dennis Schroder, and Austin Reaves. Who on this team is expected to guard Kawhi Leonard? Luka Dončić? Devin Booker? That’s why the Westbrook questions are relevant. Because trading him for players who are better fits is the Lakers’ only real chance at building a title contender this season. It’s hard to imagine the present-day roster making some kind of miracle run, even with a healthy James and Davis. (Notably, the Lakers were outscored with that duo on the floor last season, with or without Westbrook.) Ultimately, as Pelinka said himself, the organization must do everything they can to compete in the twilight of LeBron’s career.
