Day three of soft resetting for a shiny Raikou in Ultra Sun. When I get it, I’ll have seven Legendaries from gens 1-6 left to get (Latios, Reshiram, Ho-oh, Tornadus, Groudon, Landorus, and Kyurem)
I was hunting for the two Nido lines at the same time in Let’s Go Eevee but after one shiny female after a chain of 300+ then passing over a shiny dragonite and chansey while chaining another 500+ (total chain of 850 some), I broke it for a spare shiny Ratatta because if it was taking that long I might as well restart the chain. I’m gonna take a break from the nidos to hunt Krabby, they’re being the most difficult for me so far.
I’m working on both my livedexes tho I’m only missing a few legends and event mythicals for the regular one, but for my shiny livedex I’m going to offer up my spare shinies for shiny trades if anyone would be interested in the future.

I once got a shiny Defense Form Deoxys in a trade that was said to be from Pokémon GO before Pokémon HOME got updated again. Meaning, it was clearly hacked and I had the (sad but) right idea to trade it back.
I got another shiny Deoxys in another trade on Friday and thought that it was the same deal for this guy. Turns out he was caught fair and square in the Advanced series. And any shiny event Pokémon before the 4th generation is a real keeper in my book!
Just let this be a reminder that things will work out eventually.

Pokemon Horizons Episode 35 Review - Bramblin About In The Desert
Horizons has returned after taking a few weeks off due to the holidays. Now that the festivities are over, we’re back to our weekly schedule Horizons airing until the next break. This week’s episode happens to be a fun, relaxing episode about the group working odd jobs.
Tumblr media
True to every adventurers in stories, the Rising Volt Tacklers’ funds are lacking now. So the group decides to find ways to earn money. Murdock suggests delivering sweets; Orla suggests mechanical repairs and Mollie is thinking about doing medical consultation for trainers. Friede is working odd jobs; one job he gets is the focus of the episode: finding his friend Shine’s lost Bramblin. To be honest, I’d love to pay for Murdock’s sweets.
Roy and Liko tag along; Liko specifically wants to tag along because of her school assignment. She was task to make a presentation about what she considers the ideal bond. She believes that Friede and Cap have the ideal bond, which is why she tagged along so that she could observe and make a report about them. Throughout the episode, both she and we, the viewers, learn new things about Friede and Cap. Cap has an “allergy” where he sneezes uncontrollably when he is called cute; I guess the mighty Captain Pikachu really does have one weakness after all. Despite their strong bond, the two don’t see eye-to-eye at times, which causes them to fight. This is a rather unusual sight, but I quite like it because it gives Cap a lot of character. I did like the scene where Friede and Cap pretended to have an argument, which caused Pikachu to leave and for Friede to make Roy and Liko take over the battle. This was to distract the hunters and for Captain Pikachu to knock out the female hunter’s Avalugg and the rest of the other foes.
Although Bramblin makes its debut here, it’s more plot device as the focus is on the main characters. The only two things it did was roll around like tumbleweed and then get captured by hunters. At least, it did want to be free from the poachers. I guess the reason why Bramblin ran off from its trainer was to use the Let’s Go feature to evolve, which it did! Despite my gripes with Bramblin, I did like the cry. The way it cries makes it sound like an air headed ball of grass.
If you’re not familiar with voice actors, I’ll fill you in on some interesting trivia. Friede’s friend Shine is voiced by Kenji Nojima, who has been a recurring name in the Pokemon anime in the past. He voiced Jimmy from the Legend of Raikou special, Rafe from the Destiny Deoxys movie, and Khoury from the Diamond and Pearl era; he currently voices Roark in Pokemon Masters. The female poacher, the one who really likes cute Pokemon and Captain Pikachu, is voiced by Mariya Ise. If you’re not familiar with Japanese voice actresses, she’s the voice actress of Bonnie from the XY anime. It’s crazy how they get two big names that had done roles in the past as minor characters for this episode. Horizons did this in past episodes and even with the main cast.
Anyways, this was a nice episode to get back into Horizons. Hopefully, taking on odd jobs won’t last too long as plot progression is important. I do wonder what will happen later on. If you watched this episode, what are your thoughts?

Random General Poké-World Headcanons
Tumblr media
—“A Snorlax slept in traffic” is a legitimate excuse for missing work despite the rarity of owning a car. If used too often, then the employee will have to prove that the convenient Snorlax in question is real. Munchlax rarely evolve unless they know they can eat their fill.
—Genuine skeptics are rare to find in this world due to Ghost Types, mediums, and actual psychics existing as common knowledge. Non-ghost type ghosts are a complicated issue inside scientific communities when discussed.
—Trainer’s Licenses allow people to participate in official competitions, you can technically own a pokémon at any age. Certain species are black listed to take care of casually and can be confiscated if found dangerous enough.
—The winner of the league tournament gets the privilege to challenge the Elite Four then the region’s Champion. Even if the Champion is beaten, it takes several years being mentored under them to take their place. The duty to the whole region needs a worthy successor.
—Occasionally strong enough trainers can issue a challenge to the Elite Four directly. Usually battle facility trainers do this to keep their skills sharp. Exhibition matches rarely count on a trainer’s win-lose-tie record.
—Breeder rejected or breedject pokémon tend to make up the bulk of most non-regional starters given away to new trainers.
—Wild encounter shiny Pokémon tend to have better immune systems than bred ones.
—Several talented Zoroark have tricked humans for years establishing lives for themselves in some regions. They even get hired at jobs taking the shifts no-one want to normally take.
—Intelligent enough Pokémon can be arrested if they shown to be aware enough about laws and the consequences for breaking them.
—Legendaries occasionally bond with humans enough to hang around. Other times they will make nuisances of themselves in public areas.
—An actual job is cleaning up routes of spare potion bottles and broken poké balls. Muks can be trained to target specific waste material.
—Not all ghost-type pokémon interactions are malicious. As the only “immortal” type, they can get lonely without companions.
—Sometimes young pokémon show genetic traits of a different species father. (EX: A Happiny showed incredible feats of strength hours after being born lifting her trainer. Might have had a fighting type father…)
—Pokémon sometimes leave their eggs in the company of humans if they have too many future offspring. Some do this in heavily Weavile populated areas most of the time.
—Old-fashioned potions might heal more energy, but modern ones disinfect the hurt area far better. Revives are stored in Diamond shaped containers for easy storage.
—There are still people who don’t believe in bonding with their pokémon. Despite these bonds being key for some species to evolve, they still disregard recorded footage of trainer pokémon shrugging off status conditions.
—Trainers can be fined for landing their flying pokémon on building rooftops. The weight might break something or upset the supports.
—Pikachu and Eevee regularly tie for the cutest pokémon in the world.
—One of the first families to form what is now modern law enforcement were the Jenny or Junsar clan. Most female officers wear similar wigs to honor the first Officer Jenny.
—A select few pokémon stay in their first forms for their entire lives.
—There being more than one Deoxys makes many scientists wonder if they have a home planet. Or if the species as a whole mutates from DNA in meteors.
