Stiles is looking at him, vulnerable and childlike. Childlike and doe-eyed. Doe-eyed and—

“Derek,” he whispers. A hand reaches out to him. There’s dirt stuck underneath Stiles’ nails. On some fingers, his nails are all wearied down and broken off, like he’s been scraping the ground in panic, in worry, in desperation. “Derek,” his voice echoes around him like smoke.

When he looks back up at Stiles, tears are streaming down his face. “Derek,” suddenly, he’s right in front of him, agony and pain highlighting his features so darkly and vividly that Derek takes a step back when the bitter tang of pain weaves its way into his tongue, coating it like a dissolved pill. “Derek,” he pleads. There’s dirt stuck to his cheek.

All too suddenly, Stiles is screaming; in agony, in pain, in horror, in terror, in sadness, in grief. He screams so loudly, encasing Derek like a cage as he falls to his knees. His screams cage Derek in as he trashes against it, fighting his way against it to get to Stiles. He watches helplessly as Stiles continues to scream, voice turning hoarse and hoarse as he curls up right in front of Derek. His hand is still outstretched towards him, loosely curled as if waiting for Derek to hold him.

“Stiles,” he finally says. “Stiles. Stiles!”

“Derek.” Stiles looks up at him, all bloody and dirty, tears streaking the dirt on his face as he looks up at him. There’s black blood coating his mouth, bloodanddirtandbloodanddirtandblood—“Save me.”

Stiles lunges at him.

"Bradley My earliest memory of my mum is of her blasting Stevie Wonder and Jamiroquai in the car as she dropped me to school. She has a huge passion for music and I got my love for it from her. When I was nine we went on a family holiday to Florida and watched School of Rock on the plane. I loved it and Mum suggested I learn to play guitar when we got home, so that’s where it started for me. I used to be quite good at mimicking accents, so I fell into singing.

I originally posted videos to YouTube just for fun. I was terrible when I was younger for booking gigs where you had to sell a certain number of tickets before you got paid. I used to get the tickets in the post and then get the fear of God and decide I didn’t want to do it. Then Mum would say, “You’ve got the tickets and you’ve told the promoter you’re going to do it, so you’ve got to do it.” I needed that slight kick up the arse from her.

Mum has always been incredibly supportive of my music. She never put up any roadblocks even though it meant me leaving home when I was only 16 when the band got signed. I’m a proper home bird and so moving out that young was hard but all the parents of the boys in the band became great friends and they come to all our shows. I think the biggest highlight for Mum so far was when we played Capital FM’s Summertime Ball at Wembley in 2016 and Martin Kemp was sitting in front of us. She loved Spandau Ballet back in the day, so that was a big moment for her.

At the heart of everything, I believe you get sustained happiness through having real relationships with your family and friends. That has helped me to navigate this life and hopefully to not put the highlight on the wrong things. Success in the music industry can be quite fleeting, so I know I’m very fortunate to have such a close family to come home to. Mum still cuts my barnet too.

I used to really struggle with the media attention, even if it was positive, and my mum’s always been the person that I speak to about those things. I’ve never felt like there was anything I couldn’t talk to her about.

Mum is an incredibly strong, multifaceted woman and I’m so lucky to have grown up with her as a role model. She had always dreamt of opening her own bar and so when it became possible for us to do that as a family business she made it happen [Simpsons Gin Bar opened in Sutton Coldfield in 2016]. She inspires me to be as driven as her but to never stop caring about the people around me.

Mum brings kindness into every aspect of her life. I think it’s great that she’s on social media too. She has strong beliefs and is vocal about things, which I think is really important. If you believe in something, you should stand up for it, so she tends to post positive messages but also photos of the dog. Mum is my biggest cheerleader. She loves coming to the shows and singing along. And she always has the latest Vamps music on in the car �� she’s literally the reason we’ve got decent streaming numbers.

Anne-Marie My husband, Derek, and I were setting up a new life in the Midlands when Brad was born. Derek was a golf professional and we moved because he secured a new position at the Belfry resort in Sutton Coldfield. I had a miscarriage before I got pregnant with Brad, so he was really wished for. All babies are amazing in their own way but it was so delightful when this beautiful angelic-looking baby arrived in our lives as if on a cloud. There were no marks on him and he was just this perfect little thing. One of the nurses said he had a golden aura and that’s exactly what he’s still like now.

Brad started having guitar lessons when he was eight and he used to sit in front of the TV watching Angus Young in AC/DC videos, learning to play the tunes. By the time he turned 13 he was playing gigs with a band from school. When the lead singer left, Brad said he’d sing and we were quite surprised — he’d never been an outright showman, but this gorgeous voice came out.

At school he never really got into trouble but he was a bit of a joker. His teachers said he had fantastic ability but he didn’t apply himself because he was thinking about music all the time, so I thought we’d let him try to make a go of it. He began writing songs and putting them online. Then when James [McVey, his Vamps bandmate] saw his YouTube videos it all took off. Not long after we found ourselves sitting in the [LA artist management company] Prestige offices in London with Richard Rashman, who worked with bands like McFly and Busted, and I realised the band could be something real. Little did we know how big it would become [the Vamps have had four Top Ten albums and their songs have been streamed more than four billion times].

We were bereft when he left home at 16 but there was no way we were going to rain on his parade. It has been so exciting watching his dreams come true. I had a lump in my throat when he played at the Summertime Ball. To see him perform in front of 80,000 people made me so emotional. When they’ve played Fusion or V festivals in the past we’ve all turned up with bottles of fizz and picnic baskets. It’s become a bit of a joke that when the Vamps play, our big entourage of dogs and squiffy parents and other kids come too.

I’ve always tried to support Brad without him ever feeling that if he decided a music career wasn’t right for him that he would be disappointing anyone. All we want is for him to be happy and for the family home to always be a haven for him. He has to feel that we’re the sanity and honesty in his life, which is divorced from whatever might be in the papers, so I don’t tend to read a lot of it. We’ve all learnt to develop a thick skin.

There are a lot of challenges for him being in the public eye. I’m not quite sure what social media is doing to a whole generation. Some of the fan stuff can be quite dark, really. In the beginning, for example, some of the fans were quite nasty to each other online, but the band try to counteract that.

Even on the days when he’s absolutely exhausted he is so kind to the fans. I remember once at Birmingham Christmas market we turned around and there was a group of ten girls giggling behind us. We started slowly walking away but he was like the Pied Piper and it soon turned into a mob, but Vamps fans are usually really considerate. I know I’m his mum but he has a heart of gold. And he’ll always be my golden boy.

First trailer for THE BOYS spinoff GEN V! Looks gross!

Fans attending CCXP, the largest comic convention in the world, were surprised today with a first look at the highly anticipated Amazon Original series Gen V, coming to Prime Video in 2023. The first look at The Boys spinoff highlighted already announced series cast Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi. The exciting preview also revealed Clancy Brown, Alexander Calvert, and Jason Ritter, and teased guest appearances from Jessie T. Usher, Colby Minifie, and P.J. Byrne reprising their roles from The Boys.

Set at America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes (run by Vought International), Gen V explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school’s top ranking.

Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters serve as showrunners and executive producers. Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Has any fandoms you’re involved in been part of any protest or acts of social activism?

To be honest, no. But here are my findings for the Kpop Community.

Disclaimer: I'm not a Kpop fan nor am I part of the fandom, but here are my findings concerning this week's topic regarding activism :) Introduction: Public Sphere as a form of Activism

Since the emergence of social media, activism has evolved and developed through access to the public sphere. The public sphere is essential in society and is the root of public opinion to discuss or solve public affairs. The public sphere is a space “where free and equal citizens come together to share information, to debate, to discuss, or to deliberate on common concerns” (Odugbemi, 2008: 17). The public sphere is known to be normative and it is crucial to ensure democracy in a society. It is accessible to the public where participants are able to gather and discuss mutual interest with no restrictions.

Today, the Internet has become a platform for people to debate or raise public concerns. Many activists have used social media to raise political or social concerns, such as the Black Lives Matter protest and the Stop Asian Hate movement. In today's digital era, the Internet is the ideal public sphere to exchange ideas as it is accessible and utilized by the majority of people today. The Internet has become a public sphere for netizens to debate which results in the formation of the public opinion. “Public opinion is a product of the public sphere, and a crucial concept in governance and political decision making” (The Public Sphere, 2021 pg 3). 

BTS and their advocate for the Black Lives Matter Protest

BTS fans are known for��smashing records. The fandom or as known as 'ARMY', has driven the Korean pop septet to extraordinary album sales, blockbuster video debuts, and lightning-fast concert sellouts. However, this time the fandom massively contributed to a social and good cause. According to Madden (2020), The Black Lives Matter campaign in the United States has received its highest contribution from a celebrity to date: $1 million from the seven-member K-pop group BTS. The following morning, the BTS Army (BTS fans) began to organise and fundraise, led by the fan-formed One in an Army charity campaign. The hashtag #MatchAMillion was so popular on Twitter that hundreds of thousands of fans contributed to the fundraiser. By Monday morning, BTS's followers had outbid the celebrities by more than $200,000. The Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement which is one of the biggest social movements, returned to a peak in 2020 when George Floyd, an innocent African-American man was killed by Derek Chauvin, a white police officer in the United States. With the massive support from the Kpop community, K-pop celebrities and fans are able to further spread awareness and contribute to ending racism and hate towards the Black community who are oppressed in America. This clearly demonstrates that the power of fandom is able to contribute towards social activism, which is closely linked to the public sphere where people come and gather to debate mutual concerns.

Apart from that, the Kpop fandom (Army) ambush racist hashtags such as #WhiteLivesMatter and #AllLivesMatter, by posting a seemingly endless stream of K-pop fancams (fan-made cut-and-stitch videos of their idols). According to Rolli (2020), they similarly swamped the Dallas Police Department's iWatch Dallas app, which encouraged citizens to upload footage of demonstrators engaging in illegal actions.

To summarize, the astonishing Black Lives Matter donation from the BTS ARMY highlights the potential and power of K-Pop fandoms or any fandom to make a huge difference on a worldwide scale. Being an ally of BLM myself, I'm extremely impressed by what the BTS fans (Army) have done! From my knowledge and from what my ARMY friends have told me (lol), BTS has always sung about equality, mental health, and self-love, and it's clear that their fans have definitely grasped those values, by helping to end racial injustice and contributing to a social and political cause :)

Odie Leigh - Already (On My Mind) SIngle

New Orleans-bred, Detroit-based singer-songwriter Odie Leigh releases her infectious debut album this Friday with new song and companion video "Already (On My Mind)" out today.

"'Already (On My Mind)' is a reflection on the beginning of a relationship and the confusion that comes with it, I wanted the verses and chorus to almost feel like different songs," says Odie Leigh. "We kept the verses simple and driving to reflect the groundedness of being with another person and feeling secure and made the choruses lofty and vibrant to capture the feeling of the spiraling uncertainty that comes with a new relationship. 

"Also, I tried to sneak as much trumpet into this album as I could. There are a couple of songs that we recorded trumpet on but ended up taking it out and thankfully this isn’t one of them. I knew from the beginning that I wanted this track to feel full and fun and welcoming, and I think we accomplished that exactly."

“Standing in a bar in the French Quarter and dressed up like a clown, I invited the tourist I met the night before to come home with me. 'We’ve had a great night and I don’t want to spoil it,' he said, 'sometimes I try to get too much out of a good thing.'

"I agreed with him, our one evening had already turned into two and the rational thing to do would be to spend the rest of our Halloween weekend with friends, not a stranger from out of town. Fortunately, I am not always rational. The stranger stuck around.

"I wrote 'A Good Thing' the next day and the rest of the album in the year that followed. This whole project is just a play-by-play of me falling in Love.

"Songwriting has always been a means for me to get my thoughts out about real people and situations, and it’s scary how they then get to hear my raw, heat-of-the-moment thoughts about them later on. Sustainable Canadian Agriculture: Investing in Canada's Future

  Resilient Agricultural Landscape Program Supports Sustainable Farming

Federal Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, Lawrence MacAulay, and Manitoba Minister of Agriculture, Derek Johnson, announced that the governments of Canada and Manitoba are providing over $1.9 million in funding through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP) for 54 projects aimed at promoting sustainable farming practices in Manitoba. The projects are part of the Resilient Agricultural Landscape Program (RALP).   Two Streams of Funding for Sustainable Farming RALP offers two streams of funding: Watershed Resilience and Carbon Sequestration and Grassland Resilience. These funding streams support on-farm management practices and projects that sequester carbon, enhancing sustainability through grassland management and agroforestry practices, including maintaining and restoring grasslands and wetlands.  

Watershed Resilience Stream: Promoting Collaborative Projects

The Watershed Resilience stream provides funding to watershed districts to collaborate with farmers on implementing various projects. These projects include agroforestry, grasslands, and grazing management, enhancing and rejuvenating natural upland areas, improving riparian areas, managing water retention and runoff, and restoring and enhancing wetlands. Selected watershed districts will receive up to $100,000 per project, covering 100% of the total approved eligible costs. The projects will be completed within 18 months. Farmers are encouraged to reach out to their local watershed districts to inquire about available programming.  

Carbon Sequestration and Grassland Resilience Stream: Boosting Livestock Industry

The Carbon Sequestration and Grassland Resilience stream provides funding to community pastures, Agricultural Crown Land forage leaseholders, Indigenous farmers and communities, and farmers outside of watershed district boundaries. The projects aim to increase the productivity of grasslands, supporting a strong and viable livestock industry in Manitoba. These projects enhance ecological goods and services while providing mitigation and adaptation practices to support producers in a changing climate. Selected applicants will receive a maximum of $15,000 per project, covering 75% of the total approved eligible costs. Projects will be completed within 18 months.  

Focus on Environmental Resilience

Projects under RALP were evaluated based on their potential to enhance the environmental resilience of agricultural landscapes through practices that increase environmental benefits, including improving soil and water quality, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, addressing stream-bank degradation, enhancing nutrient and water retention, and improving biodiversity and wildlife habitat.   Advancing Manitoba's Agricultural Commitments Minister Johnson highlighted that projects under RALP align with Manitoba's commitments to improve the productivity of Agricultural Crown Lands, promote improved soil health, and implement on-the-ground actions outlined in Manitoba's Protein Strategy and Water Management Strategy. I've Got Nothing On My Mind But You

“You’re being very mean.” Derek pushes his nose into the back of Aaron’s neck and instead of a sweet, sleepy anything he gets kicked in the shin. A warning to back away. Before he even begins to formulate a response to such a cruel treatment, the back of his wandering hand is pinched rather unforgivingly. “Ow!” he yelps, pulling his hand back but truth be told it doesn’t hurt so much as startle him. It’s painfully early and Derek might dare to venture that in the morning like this, the sun creeping in through the blinds and an entire day yet to be spent doing absolutely nothing, Aaron can be docile. Tender, even, if he’s in the mood.

Derek pulls his hand away from where he’d tucked it underneath Aaron’s shirt. “You pinched me!” He grunts, rubbing at the back of his hand like there’s pain to worry away.

Aaron huffs, shrugging.

“Aaron!”

He has to turn his head to try to hide his smile, mischievously pleased with himself.  He warned Derek away twice already, pushing his encroaching hand away. Regardless of Derek’s intent, though he could guess where that curious hand was headed, he finds it difficult to be comfortable with Derek being so handsy. This morning it is only a hand on his stomach, fingers dipped into his boxers for “warmth” but beyond that it’s an ongoing problem. One he doesn’t feel like dealing with this morning. He doesn’t know what to do with himself, doesn't know how to be comfortable.

He wishes he could be.

He just doesn't know how.

With a sigh Derek presses himself against Aaron’s back, hand up in a surrender, he won’t worm his way back into the warmth, instead he steeples his fingers with Aaron’s. “What do you want to do today?” he asks, lips never losing contact with Aaron’s skin. He kisses his shoulder, the area where Derek’s too large Hanes has slipped just a little to the side. It’s still mostly Aaron’s neck but it’s warm and smells like sweat. A shower, Derek decides, smirking at just the thought.

Jessica’s going to be working Roy through his morning routine for at least another hour.

No one to walk in on them. No cries about toothbrushes or shoes that aren’t tied. No lunches to pack. No dad duties waiting for either of them.

Aaron doesn’t answer. He doesn't think he can sleep anymore but he is content just to lie like this. To see the light inch its way to the bed, shine in on Derek’s body. Highlight the rich warmth of colors. The tattoos that stain his skin and the scars that raise along his otherwise smooth skin.

“We’ll lay here then,” Derek finally whispers. Aaron can feel how easily Derek means this, the muscles that loose their excited tension. Sinking into his bones, Derek’s arm weightless across his hips. Derek’s fingers slide to their previous place, lightly touching one of the scars Foyet left on his body. This one long, thinner than the others. Stretching over where his hips protrude when he’s sick, when he’s too thin and Derek avoids touching him here at all. Like his skin and bones will turn to soot slipping between his fingers if he looks too hard.

It takes Aaron a long minute to find his voice. “Why do you do that?”

Derek hums, “do what?”

He doesn’t have the strength to use words so he just touches, puts his fingers over Derek’s.

“Oh,” Derek whispers. Aaron can feel his heart start to beat faster. “I don’t… I don’t know.” Derek’s hand falls flat, his palm pressing against it now. The scar pulses with life, suddenly a gaping wound Derek places pressure onto. Attempting to keep a ghostly stream of crimson from staining their sheets. “Does it bother you?” He should have considered that. There are still nights where they sleep back to back, Aaron needing the physical comfort but unable to handle more. Craving it none-the-less. Aaron sometimes has sex with a t-shirt on. Shys away from Derek’s affection, covers himself like Derek hasn’t seen him the most compromising situations. Not just in their bedroom but butt-ass naked in the hospital.

Derek’s hand is warm and Aaron nearly loses the conversation, swept away in the pleasant combination of pressure and warmth against a place he hadn’t realized ached so tenderly until the pain suddenly stopped. But Derek strokes the skin above the wound and the movement brings him back. “No,” he decides. It doesn’t bother him enough to make him not want the contact but the motive concerns him.

“I just…” Derek laughs, he can’t think of better words to say. “I just like the way it feels,” he answers honestly. It’s just skin, Aaron’s skin warm and present underneath him. He hates what it represents but he likes to think he can force it’s harsh peaks to lay sedated with his love. To tame it like wild beast.

To Derek’s surprise Aaron snorts, turning his head so that he can see Derek. “Really?”

Derke shrugs, “what? Don’t make fun of me.”

“I’m not,” Aaron swears too quickly. He presses his hand into Derek’s and softer, slower this time he swears, “I’m not.”

Derek huffs, rolling his eyes as he presses his face back into Aaron’s shoulder.

They lay for another half hour, pulled from their warmth by Jessica. She calls Derek's phone. They share a shower and Derek breaks his promise twice to keep his hands to himself but they greet Jessica at the cafe on Main Street on time. Derek gives Aaron half of his muffin and he takes the hand Aaron rests on his thigh as forgiveness.

“D-did you know we’re made from stardust?” Stiles spluttered, jumping to his feet.

Derek raised an eyebrow.

“I mean every element that makes up our cells, from the iron in our blood to the calcium in our bones, was made in the heart of a star billions and billions of years before the earth was ever created.”

Stiles paced up and down the length of the loft, gesticulating animatedly as he explained the secrets of the cosmos to Derek, who looked up lazily at the rambling universe in front of him.

I made a map of your stars, then I had a revelation

“And since the first law of thermodynamics states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, the atoms that existed then are the same atoms that exist now – our bodies were once stars and supernovas and-”

“So what? The atoms in my hands could’ve been next to the atoms in your hands during the Big Bang?” Derek said coyly.

“Well actually,” he began again, sounding as though he’d swallowed a textbook, “immediately after the Big Bang there was only hydrogen,” he paused in his tracks for a moment and tilted his head to the side slightly, “and a little helium,” he added before continuing to pace, “but mostly hydrogen!”

“Mostly hydrogen,” Derek repeated, nodding solemnly.

“And gravity forced all that hydrogen together to form stars, and then nuclear fusion created carbon and oxygen - which have a far more important role in the formation of human cells.”

“Is that so?” Derek mused.

“Yes. Since hydrogen only makes up like 9.5% of our bodies and considering the scale of the universe, it’s unlikely that our atoms could’ve been together at the Big Bang.”

He avoided making eye contact with Derek, who said nothing.

“But y’know maybe a couple billion years after…like our atoms might have been chilling together in a supernova cloud,” he said with an awkward, and slightly shrill laugh.

A smile played on Derek’s lips, “so you’re saying we could’ve been together since nearly the beginning of time?”

“Well, sorta. But no not really, I mean maybe – but psychologists don’t really understand consciousness, so no one knows what the stuff that makes us…y’know us is exactly-”

“Stiles, breathe.”

“Right, thanks. So, we can’t really say if what makes up our consciousness so we don’t know if it can be broken down to the atomic level or if there’s something else going on-”

Derek stood up, he smiled adoringly and crossed his arms across his chest, Stiles gulped as his eyes raked over Derek’s exposed biceps; the grey material of his t-shirt strained against them.

“So…” Derek prompted.

“So! So…so no one can say if we – as in our conscious minds – could’ve been together because no one knows what consciousness is. But theoretically, the atoms in my body and the atoms of yours could’ve been created in the heart of the same star-”

Derek edged closer to him, “and if those atoms found their way from a celestial body to our bodies, then I guess that’s sort of meant to be, huh?”

Stiles stared blankly at him.

“And what happens to those atoms after we die? Do they stay together?”

“Well, the first law of thermodynamics says-”

Derek stepped closer, so close that Stiles could smell the spearmint on his breath, “Stiles?” he whispered.

“D-derek,” Stiles stammered in response, his eyes shifted around the room, focusing on everything except the details of Derek’s face in front of him.

You're the universe I'm helpless in

Stiles couldn’t recall a time his lips had ever been so close to Derek’s.

“I got an A in psychology.”

“Oh, good for you…bud,” he said awkwardly, punching Derek lightly on his well-defined bicep.

Stiles’ heart hammered in his chest, and he was acutely aware that Derek was so close to him that he could likely feel it too.

“I also got an A in physics.”

“W-what? So, you already know all of this? Why did you let me ramble on so much then? God Derek-” Stiles shifted his body away from Derek’s, ready to continue his pacing as he entered a new rant.

But before he could break away, Derek’s hands flew up and gripped his wrists tightly – pulling him back tightly into his chest.

“Maybe I felt like a refresher course,” he said breathily, staring into Stiles’ eyes.

The remnant rays of the setting sun streamed through the window and bounced off Stiles’ irises, highlighting golden reflects. They burned back against the stare of Derek’s icy gaze; like his own, personal sun.

“Well, I don’t really think I’m the best person for that so-”

“Stiles?”

“Y-yes.”

“Shut up.”

Derek’s lips crashed against Stiles’, and billions of primeval atoms were reunited as their lips moved softly against each other. Derek released his grasp on Stiles’ wrists and instead snaked his hands down his body to grip his hips, pulling him even closer into him.

Shivers rippled across Stiles’ body as Derek’s hands raked over him. He groaned against Derek’s mouth and an energy hot enough to rival nuclear fusion ignited in the pit of his stomach, burning lower, and lower, and lower down his anatomy.

With hands still securely gripping Stiles’ hips, Derek steered them from the centre of the loft forwards, and slammed Stiles’ back into the wall.

One of his hands entangled itself in Stiles’ soft hair. Derek tugged on it harshly, pulling Stiles’ lips away from his own, he whined initially but let out a low moan as Derek lips softly traced along his jaw line. He left a trail of gentle kisses across his neck, as he reached a spot just under Stiles’ earlobe, he let out a moan so desperate Derek had to restrain himself from tearing away both their clothes there and then.

An astronomer at my best

Stiles was seeing stars in the ceiling of the loft as Derek’s lips caressed his neck, the initial gentle kisses had turned rough as Derek responded to Stiles’ moans. He gripped onto Derek’s biceps and toned back for support as he explored his neck.

“God Derek-” he groaned as Derek’s lips traveled down to a spot against his collarbone, Stile’s couldn’t stop his hips from bucking upwards to grind against Derek.

Derek pulled away from his neck and looked up at him, his lips were cherry red, “you good?” he asked, panting slightly.

Stiles nodded furiously, admiring the soft, golden flecks surrounding the pupils of Derek’s otherwise cool, green eyes, “good? I’m…I’m great. I- oh God Derek-” Stiles threw his head back as Derek’s lips resumed their place on his neck, and one of his hands drifted from his hip to his crotch.

Stiles’ vision blurred slightly as his head connected with the wall.

“Don’t tell me you’ve got a sex injury already,” Derek mumbled in his ear, having returned his attention to the spot beneath Stiles’ collarbone.

“I’m fine, just a bit dizzy that’s all. Kind of…nice though.”

“Nice?” Derek said, raising an eyebrow at him.

“Y-yeah, nice. Heightened the overall…experience y’know.”

Derek nodded slightly, he pressed his body tighter against Stiles’ which kept him firmly pressed against the wall as Derek’s left hand left its position on Stiles’ hip and wrapped round his neck.

Derek pressed gently, “like this?” he whispered in Stiles’ ear.

Stiles’ let out a shaky breath, “h-harder.”

“What was that?”

Stiles’ swallowed, “harder, Derek. Please.”

“Harder with this hand?” he said, squeezing tighter around Stiles’ neck.

“Yes, yes, God Derek-”

Derek interrupted him quickly, “or this hand?” he whispered breathily into Stiles’ ear and pulled back to watch his eyes roll back as Derek palmed him roughly through his jeans.

“Derek…” he whined, thrusting his hips upwards again.

“You didn’t answer the question Stiles,” he whispered, “this hand?” he asked squeezing his left hand around his neck, “or this one?” he resumed kissing Stiles’ neck as he increased pressure with his right.

“Both, both Derek, please,” Stiles cried, throwing his head back again.

And smashing it off the wall again.

When I throw away the measurements

“Why don’t we move somewhere else? Somewhere you can hit your head off a soft surface when you do that.”

Stiles gulped before nodding furiously, “yeah, g-good plan.”

Derek guided him to the bed and pushed him down into the sea of soft pillows and blankets, as their lips reconnected Stiles felt a burst of energy strong enough to rival the Big Bang ripple through him. Derek broke the kiss to smirk down at him and something akin to a growl burst out of Stiles as he pulled Derek’s face back down to his.

“Someone’s impatient,” Derek teased in between kisses.

“I’ve been waiting a long time for this,” Stiles replied, moaning as Derek grazed his lips across his jaw.

“Me too, feels like I’ve been waiting since the beginning of time.”

Little Letters

Stiles likes to leave little love notes in Derek’s pockets. He never writes his name on them, but he doesn’t have to; Derek knows who writes them.

The first time it happened, Derek was a little confused.

He reached into the pocket of his leather jacket for his phone, but as he pulled it out, a folded piece of paper fell out of his pocket and onto the ground.

Derek bent over and picked it up.

He unfolded the note and read it.

Every day that you’re here you make the world a better place.

He felt a warmth blossom in his chest, his cheeks flushed with a rosy pink blush. He bit into his lower lip, trying to his the soft smile that crept onto his lips.

There wasn’t a name at the bottom, or anywhere on the note, but there didn’t need to be; he knew who had written the note. He knew the messy, chicken-scratch handwriting. He knew the scent that clung to the paper. But what stuck him as odd was that he never questioned it.

He folded the note up again and carefully slid it back into his pocket.

Derek hunched his shoulders as the icy breeze rolled by. He shoved his hands into his pockets. His heart skipped a beat as his fingers brushed against something cold and smooth.

He pulled it out of his pocket, letting out a sigh of relief as he looked down at the folded piece of paper. He carefully unfolded it, reading the chicken-scratch handwriting.

Derek couldn’t help but let out a quiet chuckle, bowing his head as he tried to hide the smile that played across his lips.

At the bottom of the paper—hastily written to fit in the space at the bottom of the note—was a second message:

Derek smiled, carefully folding up the note and sliding it back into his pocket.

Derek let out a deep sigh as he stepped into the loft, dragging his feet across the polished concrete floors. He shrugged off his jacket and tossed it over the end of the bed, halting when he heard a quiet crinkle, the sound muffled by the fabric of his jacket.

He stepped back over to his bed, digging into the pocket of his jacket and pulling out the folded piece of scrap paper.

He carefully unfurled it, looking down at the scrawls of ink across the page.

Smile for six seconds and then turn this note over.

Derek’s brow furrowed slightly as he looked down at the note in confusion.

He half-shrugged and followed the instructions, letting a smile turn up the corners of his mouth. He held the smile, counting away the seconds.

He turned the note over.

Your smile is beautiful.

Derek let out a quiet laugh, his smile softening into something more genuine.

He let out a quiet chuckle as he walked back over to his desk and opened the drawer. He pulled out an old leather-bound copy of Watership Down that was wrapped in black leather that had been embossed with gold lettering and a picture of a rabbit down the spine and another illustration of a rabbit embossed on the cover.

Derek opened the cover, stowing the note away inside with all the other letters that had been left for him.

Beneath all the notes, a message was written on the faded paper in his mother’s elegant handwriting.

Happy birthday, my darling.

Love always,

Mum.

Derek looked down at the message for a little while. He let out a soft sigh before carefully rearranging the notes and scraps of paper that he had hidden inside of the book.

He looked down at the notes with a fond smile before carefully closing the cover and setting the old book back down in his desk drawer.

Derek let out a weak groan as he rolled over, blinking his eyes open. The golden light of morning streamed through the wall of windows that lined the loft.

He pushed himself up, pulling back the blankets and swinging his legs over the side of the bed. He rose to his feet, hastily making his bed before making his way towards the bathroom.

His feet slowed to a halt as he crossed the loft, something in his peripheral vision catching his attention.

He turned, looking at the note that was taped to the window.

“If this is a threat, it’s too damn early for this shit,” Derek muttered to himself as he dragged his feet across the floor and over to the window.

He snatched the letter from the window, blinking heavily to clear the sleep from his eyes. He looked down at the paper.

When you smile, the sun hides in shame because it knows it cannot shine as bright as you.

He let out a quiet laugh, feeling his mood brighten as he stood in the warmth of the sunlight that streamed through the window.

His smile turned up the corners of his lips as he read the letter over again before lifting his gaze and watching as the sky lit up with brilliant colours as dawn broke over Beacon Hills.

He stayed like that for a while before a thought struck him.

The smile fell from his face as he looked from the note to the window.

“How did you…?” He let the question die off, shaking his head. “You know what, I don’t want to know.”

“Where’s my phone?” Derek muttered to himself as he patted down the pockets of his jeans.

He heard something crackle as he patted his back pocket.

“You’ve got to be kidding me.”

He reached into the pocket and pulled out the piece of folded paper.

“How?” Derek asked, knowing he wasn’t going to get an answer—regardless, he had to admit, he was impressed.

He unfolded the note and read the message,

If life were a garden of flowers, I’d pick you.

Derek snorted as he struggled to smother his laugh.

He let chuckled as he looked down at the hastily drawn illustrations of blossoming daisies and delicate dandelions at the bottom of the note.

Derek couldn’t help himself. He lifted the note to his face and inhaled the scent that clung to the paper.

Every nerve in his body was ignited, a rush of warmth flowing through his veins before a wave of calm washed over him.

A faint smile turned up the corners of his lips.

There are some days when everything gets to be too much for him to handle, when it feels like the weight of the world is on his shoulders and he doesn’t have the strength to carry it.

He paced back and forth across the loft, drawing in measured breaths as he tried to ignore the deafening voices in his head; thoughts and emotions crashing over him like waves breaking on a rocky shore.

His heart hammered against his ribs, his chest tightening as he fought to hold back his tears.

Something in his peripheral vision caught his attention, a small piece of white paper sitting on the small table by the door.

Derek’s brows knitted together as he frowned in confusion. He didn’t remember leaving anything there; the shopping list was pinned on the fridge and the reminder to call Cora was on his bedside table.

He crossed over to the small table and picked up the note, feeling a sense of calmness still his racing thoughts and turbulent emotions as he looked down at the familiar handwriting.

In a hundred lifetimes, in a thousand worlds, in a million versions of reality—I’d find you and I’d choose you.

Derek held the note tight. His vision began to blur into streaks of colour and light as tears welled in his eyes. Tears trailed down his cheeks, glistening as they caught the light.

His legs weakened beneath him as he slumped down on the couch, his hands trembling as he held onto the note.

He knew he was important. He knew he was loved. But looking down at that note, for the first time in a long time, he felt it.

The pack often spent time together at the loft. If they weren’t coming together for pack meetings or fighting off the latest supernatural threat, they were gathered in the lounge room, surrounded by text books and notes books, studying or helping each other with their homework.

Erica and Lydia sat up on the sofa, sitting cross-legged and facing each other, their books spread across the cushions in front of them. Boyd sat on the floor beside Erica, leaning back against the couch. Isaac sat beside him, hunched over a text book and scowling in confusion. Jackson sat on one of the arm chairs, his legs hanging over the side as he sat his notebook against his thighs and worked through his homework.

Scott and Allison sat on the far side of the coffee table, sitting atop throw cushions they’d scavenged from the couch and talking through their Chemistry homework.

Stiles sat at the other end of the coffee table, sitting in the space between Lydia’s end of the couch and the arm chair that Derek sat in – reading. He was juggling different highlighters—green, yellow and red—blocks of text in his books coloured as he worked through his method.

He switched between his text books and his notebooks, flipping through pages upon pages of scrawled notes, brightly coloured highlighting, and messy writing.

Derek glanced up from his book, looking down at the notebook Stiles held.

His mind darted back to the last note he’d been left.

Derek reached over to the end table, picking up the notepad and pen that sat beside the phone. He quickly wrote something down, tearing the paper from the pad before setting the pen and notepad aside.

He set his book aside and leant forward, dropping the note into Stiles’ lap.

“I’m going to get dinner,” Derek said, rising to his feet.

Stiles picked up the note and read the elegant cursive handwriting.

His face lit up with a bright smile as he read the note, his dark eyes turning to pools of gold as they caught the light.

He looked up at Derek, his face one of surprise and bashfulness as a smile played across his lips.

A small smile turned up the corners of Derek’s lips as he met Stiles’ gaze, his sweet smile turning to a smug smirk as he turned to leave.

Stiles looked back down at the note, reading it over again.

Hot take (not really, I don’t think anyone is actually upset about this) but I think the Steven fight being canon is not only a really impactful twist for the long time audience but new viewers and “anime watchers” as well. Once season 2 is edited it’s gonna be SO interesting to see how people react to the crumbs of context that were provided, (the mention of Gabi the magneton, Derek shutting gerber down after mentioning Steven “bragging about a fight”) until he finally reveals the truth and everyone, ESPECIALLY those who didn’t watch ANY of the streams, get completely blindsided
