#destiny 2 weekly reset

So, Reddit is a truly wonderful place. Especially the Destiny community. Some weeks the infographic gets a lot of criticism. Other weeks it’s just silent. And then you get weeks like these that end up being my favorite.
As you know, I put the image of the nightfall weapon next to “reward”. This weeks is the fusion rifle, Loaded Question. Now, here comes the fun part. Someone asked me what the weapon was. Bungie does not normally let me make these jokes, so I had to take it.
Tumblr media
I will have you know this guardians INITIAL response was even better. “What do you mean it’s a loaded question? You made this, what do you mean that it’s a loaded question?”

The Dark Future - Chapter 1 - Family Line
Watch me fulfill my own demise promise when I claimed to adapt one of my favorite lore books into a monthly comic series if I dropped Vex Mythoclast before the 100th VoG conclusion.
Enjoy!

Thank god they did this but also please don't make this type of a quest again.
Weekly story update should NEVER require you to do an optional hard activity that has no matchmaking. Bungie please, it takes 2 seconds to realise that this is a bad idea.

Weekly Reset for May 28 - June 4
Tumblr media
Can you believe there’s only ONE week until final shape? Time flies! I will suggest that people watch the trailer (it’s amazing) but I know some people prefer to go in blind knowing as little as possible.
Unfortunately, this is also a heavy week for some of us. A few days ago we were informed that we had lost a guardian, Kyle The Doctor. I didn’t know him personally, but may he never be forgotten. (I probably missed the vigil? Unless it hasn’t happened in which case someone give me a date and time.)
Also a side note: if you’re curious about why you don’t see Oryx in the bottom right, it’s because my computer is a bit dead and I had to throw this together with a laptop that is essentially cursed. Oryx should return to his corner next time Kings Fall rolls around!

D2 Season of the Deep thoughts
Gameplay:
The seasonal bonuses seem to be the start of the pivot to weekly challenges and no pinnacle grind. I'm glad the power cap wasn’t raised this season and won’t be again next season.
What’s the point with creating a hidden mechanic that requires the whole team to initiate it in a matchmade activity?! I never ended up doing a Tier 7 pressure trial, because matchmade with random people it never worked out and doing it with LFG or friends we never got past tier 5.
Deep dives with ingame matchmade were toxic af after the release of the exotic quest and a waste of time, because there was often someone trying to do the exotic mission then leaving when no one else joins them. It really bad design to have the matchmaking mode set like this when people are trying to do it 3 different ways, and I don’t know why it was designed to not have backfill from the beginning.
I like specific exotic armor focusing, new fun form of gambling and the stats are very generous. At the same time getting new seasonal exotics still feels like you waste a lot of time.
Being able to buy past season Iron banner armor makes me actually want to grind Iron Banner more in the future.
Should be easier to get focused fishing, I never ended up finishing all the fishing challenges. Overall I thought fishing was fun at the beginning of the season when I could do it and chill with my friends, but I found the lack of obvious audio cues meant it wasn’t fun to grind out by myself when watching a show.
Deeply appreciate how you could skip so many seasonal challenges this season, that way I’m not grinding out hours spent in playlist activities and then burning out on the game. At this point I’m one of the people burned out on the seasonal model, the less I have to play things I don’t want to do to get my pile of bright dust. the more I like Destiny.
Speaking of not spending time in playlist activities, I didn’t reset any vendor rank twice and Vanguard I only reset once because I farmed Sepiks GM during double loot week. Deeply ironic that Gambit is officially not a dev priority considering that I find it the least aggravating playlist to grind.
I knew I didn’t play as much this season but wow “27 minutes underwater”
Story:
Opening mission: Fun to watch Saint lose his shit when Xivu-Arath mocked Sagira’s death. Her line about being the hand around my throat, I hope all those who are into the Hive enjoyed this season
I’ll really be upset if Sloane dies this season, I never really cared that much about her until Arrivals and when she stayed behind so I’m enjoying she gets to be the focus of a season (glad she didn’t die making it 3/3 focus characters dying)
Really appreciate Zavala, Drifter, Sloane, and Saint as a cast of characters who haven’t really interacted much onscreen but who have history getting to interact.
Drifter’s radio message about The Nine and Gambit felt more like pre-WQ Drifter, I have a lot of thoughts about this has been some of my favorite onscreen Drifter writing since Arrivals & Beyond Light and feels like the missing arc he should have gotten in Beyond Light to reconcile his views in Arrivals vs Plunder
Week 2: Saladin and Saint arguing about who is being overbearing to Sloane was great; a sense of how do these characters get along, how do they react to a circumstances, both voice actors seemed to be having fun with it
Week 3: I feel very much like a floating camera but the cutscene with Drifter and Saladin was fun and is the pinnacle of what I’m enjoying about this season in terms of “these two people are some of the oldest guardians and have kept crossing paths in lore” so we finally see them in a scenario in game
Week 3 Drifter: enjoying the heavy implication that Drifter’s ears are doing the Hive are whispering at me bleeding thing.
Week 4 Drifter: “they didn’t go so quite not until I shut them up” … “I did what it took to get offworld now I’m here” …”somethings you carry with you forever” DAMN where was this writing for Drifter in Season 18 vs wacky woohoo gambit man
This season really cements that while I might not have the plot around why Saladin became Valus Forge, I really like him being in the story with fresh things to do other than rehashing the Iron Lords Legacy yet again
As Immaru’s #1 fan excited to see Saladin mention him by name, hope next season is Immauru vs Saladin as rival tacticians

Destiny: No Time To Explain COMPLETE GUIDE
Posted on October 20, 2015 875 Upvotes | 96% Upvoted | 453 Comments
————————————————————
Hey guys! This mission can be unlocked by getting Praedyth's ghost in the Heroic/daily version of Paradox. Once you get it and also turn it in, you must wait until next weekly reset (Tuesday, 2 AM PST). The quest will be available to start in the Tower at Lakshmi, the FWC rep only on the character you handed the shell in on.
Here is a guide on how to get the ghost if you have not already done so. This is intended to only be done in Paradox when it is the daily. (Edit: It can be done when it's not the daily too. Here's how!)
DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT WASTE MOTES TRYING TO GAIN REPUTATION IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE FIRST QUEST STEP. YOU CAN GAIN THIS QUEST AT 0 FWC REP. IT IS ON A TIME LOCK ONLY. IF YOU HAVE HANDED IN THE SHELL, YOU MUST WAIT UNTIL NEXT WEEKLY RESET. DO. NOT. WASTE. MOTES.
Quest name: NOT FORGED IN LIGHT
Step 1: Ready for War
Description:
"Earn reputation through donations to the Future War Cult"
Quest Text Here
5 Motes of Light = 10%
25 Armor Materials = 5%
25 Weapon Parts = 5%
2 Heavy Synth = 5%
Step 2: Talk to Lakshmi-2
Step 3: The Simulation Core
Description:
"Here's how I see it: the Hive want to eat us. The Fallen want our stuff and the Cabal want our planet. But it's the Vex, Guardian, only the Vex can take our past away from us. If we're going to understand what these files mean, I'm going to need more context.
Hunt down a powerful Minotaur Taken by Oryx. Destroy it, and pull a simulation core from its husk. Shatter the core and return to me."
Quest Text Here
This is a GUARANTEED drop from doing the Paradox daily with the secret mission, so if you haven't done the daily yet and want a free legendary engram this is your best bet.
Any major/ultra Taken minotaurs can also drop it, but red minotaurs cannot.
This is the item it drops. It can be found in the Mission section of your inventory. Hold square (on PS4) while hovering over the item to shatter it.
After you destroy it, there's some cool flavor text
Step 4: Talk to Lakshmi-2
Step 5: The Eye of Atheon
Description:
"Excellent work. I'll make good use of the data your Ghost is feeding me. We've spect more time looking through these files, and we believe we know what your next step must be. It will not be an easy one.
Gather a Fireteam and return to the Vault of Glass. Confront Time's Conflux, Atheon, and take its eye. Within the eye will be invaluable data. Shatter it, as you did the simulation core, and then return to me."
Quest Text Here
This is super easy with level 40 Guardians. We managed to bring him down in less than 10 seconds with a tether and 2 Sleeper Simulants.
This does not need to be done on Hard mode!
Here's the item he drops, just shatter it like the last item.
Step 6: Talk to Lakshmi-2
Step 7: Approach the Twilight Gap
Description:
"Excellent. I'll begin my analysis of Atheon's data at once. In the meantime, I have results from the simulation core. The heart of the Minotaur revealed a ... ripple. A snag in the timestream around the Twilight Gap.
Head out to the pass, try to determine what Praedyth's Ghost saw there. Then, return to my side."
Quest Text Here
Step 8: Shadows at Twilight
After you spawn in, the mission updates
This can only be done as a single player.
You spawn in and slowly start getting blinded, similar to a Golgoroth wipe. You can clear the blind, and prevent dying by running into pools.
You must find an item, a bracelet, which is hidden in a chest. For me, it was near Point B in Control. For my friend it was near the special ammo spawn at Point C.
If you're a hunter, put on keen scout as the chest will show up on your radar.
Step 9: Talk to Lakshmi-2
Step 10: Approach the Black Garden
Description:
"Let me see what you ... a bracelet. With the symbol of House Bray? Ana Bray's personal sigil. Guardian, the inner circle will be grateful that you have returned this artifact to the Tower.
The data you retrieved from the Eye of Atheon, meanwhile, has pinpointed another ripple. This one is at the heart of the Black Garden.
It is time you returned to Mars. The rippled in the Garden apparently flows from a construct called "the Groundskeeper." Find it, destroy it. And return to my side."
Quest Text here
Step 11: Blood in the Garden
After you spawn in, the mission will update.
You definitely want at least one other person for this mission.
At the start, you must "anger" the Groundskeeper. You do this by killing the Vex. The Goblins will give you 2% increase in his anger per kill. However, if you don't kill them quickly enough you will start losing progress.
This format is similar to the speed patrol missions, except with kills.
Minotaurs will eventually spawn, a lot of them. These seem to give you somewhere around 7-10% anger but are obviously harder to kill.
They have void shields, so void weapons will make this a breeze.
Once you hit 100%, the Groundskeeper will spawn. He's a giant minotaur and you must kill him to progress. If you drop below 100%, he will despawn.
There will be tons of Minotaurs between you and the boss and they will keep respawning.
Dying here will not wipe you, it is not a darkness zone.
Here's a video guide on how to get to a helpful cheese spot. For some reason, the video skips but you can just jump there smoothly. You can't die here and can easily snipe out the boss.
Step 12: Talk to Lakshmi-2
Description:
"And now ... what? A ring, with the symbol of the Warlock Pujari? Death, again. Like Ana Bray, a Guardian fallen to the second death. Lost to us. We shall study these objects, Guardian. Learn why they have been pulled through time.
I believe your work is over. For now. Praedyth's files have unspooled. Their data undone like uncoiled strands of hair. And what has fallen free?
A weapon, transmatted from some time and some place, and specifically for you. Someone has taken notice of our actions, Guardian. Someday, we may be able to ask them what all this means."
Quest Text & Reward Screen here
Congratulations! Enjoy your No Time To Explain!
EDIT: Here's a short video guide!
EDIT2 : It looks like the reset did not make this quest available to characters who turned in Praedyth's ghost on 10/20. According to /u/nathanields "if you did paradox daily first time around and therefore had the 'Not Forged in Light' quest yesterday but didn't start it, it's still there today."

Weekly Reset for May 21 - 28

Pantheon is Nezarec Sublime.
Apparently there’s only 2 weeks until Final Shape? Hopefully I can find a image worthy of the middle column with yearly/seasonal armor soon.

Destiny 2 Grandmaster Nightfalls Return Today, So Get Ready to Grind
Tumblr media
With today's weekly reset in the FPS game, the Destiny 2 Grandmaster Nightfalls are back. This marks the halfway point of the season and gives players one more incentive to log in to explore some of the most challenging content and have the chance to acquire Destiny 2 Nightfall weapons with Adept perks. This is the first round of Grandmaster Nightfalls since difficulty scaling increased when Lightfall launched in late February; though Bungie recently slightly scaled back the game’s difficulty in response to player complaints. However challenging they may have been, players can expect these Grandmaster Nightfalls to be slightly easier once Bungie’s midseason patch rolls out. The patch promises to boost primary weapons in PvE, including auto rifles, pulse rifles, hand cannons, sidearms, and scout rifles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNg-Mwrmb-0 Grandmaster Nightfalls offer an added spin on the Nightfall experience, making them particularly challenging for most average players. Such Nightfalls also include highly challenging enemies and also include modifiers that can cause enemy attacks to do more damage. With Bungie’s recent upgrades to strikes such as The Arms Dealer and the inclusion of the recent Mars Heist: Battlegrounds, a notably difficult mission on its own, players can expect such Grandmaster Nightfall activities to be incredibly challenging. Completing Grandmaster Nightfalls is a requirement for some Destiny 2 Triumphs, and completing them also grants players the highest chance to earn an Adept version of that week’s Nightfall weapon. Adept weapons contain an extra perk slot and have increased stats when Masterworked, making them among the best weapons in the game. This week, players will also again have a chance to partake in Destiny 2 Iron Banner, which, as of this season, takes place three times a season rather than two, as it has been for several seasons prior to Destiny 2 season 20. Destiny 2 Grandmaster Nightfalls return today, so get ready to grind: A Cabal boss stands tall and ready to fight.Although the Lightfall expansion has earned mixed critical reception, players continue to play the game due to Destiny 2’s focus on continuously adding and updating content regularly. However, with the news that the game will not be increasing its character power cap for next season, some players have suggested that Bungie no longer needs to pause Grandmaster Nightfalls until the middle of the season as it has for some time, simply because players no longer have to work to actively achieve the higher power level requirement necessary to complete them. Bungie outlined its midseason weapon balance changes in last week’s This Week at Bungie (TWAB) series blog post. Though the season is halfway over, players still have plenty of time to obtain Destiny 2 Lightfall Exotics, which can help them grind through the multiplayer game‘s Grandmaster Nightfalls and other challenging content. If you’re looking to try your hand at some of the shooter’s more difficult challenges, you’ll probably need help with your Destiny 2 classes and Destiny 2 builds, and we’ve got you covered.
