Soo....

i suck at code majorly.

I wanted to make A date? With Blue! before Cat Cult Cafe because it is a smaller, simpler, first game. I thought it would be a good way to learn how to code!

Well, it's not working for me rn. So I am going to take a little time to actually learn python and more of how renpy works! This will affect how fast the game comes out but I will try to publish "demo" unfinished sections of the game moreso then before so the game may not seem like much with each "update" until then.

In regards to adwb the art is simple (doesn't change too much) and is mostly sprites and cgs, there's just one major hurdle in the production is code for a fake "phone" (aka customizing the nvl in renpy) I just can't wrap my head around it, so if anyone has any tips on that, that would be more than welcome.

Update!! So I am making the bg's in 2d for now. I will do them in 3d for ccc but I want to get adwb out faster, because it's the only major roadblock in development.

Also I think the day 1 demo will be out in the next 1 or 2 weeks!

Devlog #001

I finished the templates but to continue I need to make a few assets. So I restarted work on the first bg (which is the one of the potential 2 I need to release the demo(the second one only appears for a few seconds at the end so in order to release in early/mid october i might just scrap it))

Also I'm making the bg in 3d because I suck at drawing?/making them regularly.

I'll put this in the pinned post but I need to make something clear.

I have a lot of Li's in ccc, if you ask a question about the whole cast it's going to take a while for me to answer. Now while I don't mind these questions at all it would be nice to have some variety.

Also, I know I'm slow with answering the questions and that's simply because I am incompetent (if it contains the whole cast) it can take up to ~45 minutes for me to do and I don't generally have the willpower to start that.

Update!!!

I'm posting this on A date? With Blue! because it affects it the most however I will also repost it on Cat Cult Cafe because it also affects it alot.

I gave up on using renpy. It was like doing a math problem that i got it half done (if you understand that🙃). So instead I'm making the games with html (and maybe a little python we'll see😉). It will still be download able it will just open through a browser! And if you fullscreen (f11) it will be almost entirely like a regular renpy game! I will probably also make ccc like that (definitly will need python for that one tho).

Also my Chromebook drowned in soup🫠 so art will take a while and I can't do animations. I also lost all the sprites and 2d backgrounds (both for adwb) I had made and even lost almost all the writing for ccc.

If it's not clear adwb is a short, test game to get used to game development before I make ccc which is a larger, more complex game.😊

this is only half true because i wrote this while manic, filled with the megalomaniac villian/gremlin power complex coding with html gives me, and on the verge of a panic attack.

If i make day 2 first it will come out way faster because day 1 has a complex requirement for me to make.

This is a romance horror visual novel game with ~8 li (platonic routes as well).

You're old pet cafe burnt down and after saving Waffle and Pancake fell unconscious and awoke in a strange, run-down rented apartment/cafe in the city far away and very different from what you're used to.

I finally decided to make a blog for this game specifically instead of leeching off of @catcultcafe Yes it's half-assed (fornow) but I plan on sprucing it up a little later.

I figured if I'm making a whole game it should at least get it's own blog :p
