Cyttaria espinosae Lloyd, the digüeñe, dihueñe, lihueñe, quideñe, quireñe or pinatra is an edible ascomycete orange-whitish fungus endemic to central-southern Chile. Fungi kingdom Division: Ascomycota .Class: Leotiomycetes. Order: Cyttariales .Family: Cyttariaceae. Genre: Cyttaria Species: C. espinosae Lloyd The Cyttaria spinosae has a globose structure of white color and sticky surface, a thin white membrane covers the mushroom; this membrane is broken the moment the mushroom grows, revealing the apothecia, which correspond to circular cavities of orange color on the surface of the mushroom inside which the ascas and ascospores develop. The digüene is a strict and specific Nothofagus parasite, mainly of Nothofagus obliqua, and causes cancerous gills on the branches, from which the fruiting bodies emerge from spring to early summer. The rough surfaces of the fungus favor the movements of air in turbulence, which facilitates the dispersion of the spores. It is eatable; Crude has flavor similar to common mushrooms (genus Agaricus). Its interior is somewhat viscous. Its approximate size is ½ to 2 cm in diameter. In The Chilean city of Cunco, established the gastronomic week of digueñe destined to explore and exploit the culinary qualities of this fungus.#cucinavagantestba #culinaryroomba #investigativegastronomy #cucinalab #producto#sur #newlatincuisine #cheflifes #truecooks #instalike #igers #food #chefstalk #amazing #bestoftheday #instamood #instasize #picoftheday #culinaryblog (en Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires)
