everybody claims to be a kashiwagi enjoyer but the only time anyone ever talks about him is to say he's the hottest piece of meat in the series
#this goes for a lot of characters but he's the one i pay the most attention to#this probably isn't even remotely profound to most people who follow me but it really feels like a massive proportion of fandom nowadays#only cares about fanwriting if it's within 1500 words and rated E#there are some notable exceptions of course but fuck there just doesn't seem to be any real feedback on anything anymore#unless it comes from people i share small discord servers with and chat to every day#the number of times i've linked my textual analysis pieces to people who say they're fans of the character it's about#only to get brushed off in favour of the next off-model drawing of him with his balls swanging#it's demoralising#i don't want to be the elitist ''nobody likes him the way i do'' jerk but this is a lot of the reason i haven't been as active on tumblr#on top of me (mostly) running out of games to play then going on holiday and coming back to my steam deck's display not working#(it's still in for repairs)#maybe when i get it back i'll liveblog yakuza 4 but i'm starting to wonder if there's a point in using tumblr#when the only people who engage are people i speak to directly on discord anyway#like why not just cut out the middleman at this point yknow?#well. guess i'll get back to my sawamura ikki rabbit hole#expect arai posting when i get my steam deck back#me#text#kashiwagi osamu#idk lol i don't want to put negative fandom commentary into the character tag but i DO want this to be in the tag on my blog itself#i don't think there's a way to do that anymore

Fixing dolls with glue hair is a lot, and I really don't like doing it. XD But yesterday I made an effort to do another oxiclean treatment in my Way Too Wonderland dolls. This is maybe the fourth time I've done it on some of them? I've lost track. Most of them had excessively bad glue hair. But I am thrilled to say that we've almost got it! My Apple on the far left of the first picture still has a little glue, but one more treatment and I think she'll be okay. Apple is my favorite from this line, so it's gonna be all the more satisfying to have her fixed up. But everyone else I think is ready for hair styling and to be dressed up for display! This is my favorite Ever After High line, and I'm so excited I'll finally be able to have them all up!
Briar needs some repairs in terms of getting some body blushing. I made the mistake of not taking off her head when I did one of these treatments, so it got a little bleached, but I'm confident I can fix it. You may be wondering why I have two Apples and why Blondie is here. Well, for Apple, I actually got an incomplete doll back in my early days of collecting, but then I got another for a good price that was less damaged, save for the glue. X'''D So I have two. Contemplating doing a repaint for her, that could be fun. As for Blondie, I know Just Sweet Blondie Locks isn't a part of Way Too Wonderland, but they go together in my head, so I wanna display her with the rest.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Truth be told, part of this is an excuse to display my playset. I'm not usually one for doll playsets, but I really like the art on this one and would like all of my girls together. Currently doing a lot of rearranging, but it looks like my theme for September is a mix of Wonderland and popstars. I really wanna have all my dolls that are singers out for a bit, so it's a lot of MH and RH surprisingly. XD It's just, nice to update the display once in a while.

You maybe remember the bowl I got at the bookfair and dropped after 2 minutes.... I took the shards home but it looked pretty bad.
I got one of those gold repair kits but oh boy.... I'm either super unskilled or whatever.
You can see the outcome and I am now using the bowl to display dolls (might change that later on) but the whole procedure was anything but easy. The mixture didn't stick and took forever to dry, you were supposed to wipe off any excess but if you did you weren't able to stick the pieces together to glue them or the mixure was already hardened and you weren't able to wipe it, if yes you smeared it EVERYWHERE and everything was golden q_q
In the end I carefully scraped off the golden "noses" on the outside with a knife to make it somewhat okay looking. It took me overall 3 hours and almost a mental breakdown in which I questioned my whole existence as an artist. I just continued because I had spend the money and throwing it away was like throwing money out of the window q_q;

i havent used my laptop since i got it back from the repair place and. the lid sensor is not working. the laptop does not register the lid being opened or closed. this would have been noticeable when the display was replaced, had they checked that. so. im... kinda frustrated.

How’s Wacom with Repairing Pen Displays?
Hey all, I’m in a bit of a pickle. I’ve been working with a Wacom Cintiq Pro 13″ for a good number of years, and it still works really well, though lately it’s been getting dead pixels and dust under the screen, which I’ve been able to ignore for a good long while but now it’s just too distracting with the appearance of one bright one. Wacom doesn’t make this model anymore, but I called them to set up a repair and it seems they do have parts for it, mainly a new LCD backing.
But the main thing that’s giving me pause is the stories I see off of reddit mainly of Wacom not doing a good job with repairs, either not doing enough, not fixing it at all, or instead replacing the hardware with something else (which I would not want, as I like this model). Now, I would like to believe that these stories are only from those with issues who rightfully complain, which is valid, though I doubt those who’ve had a good experience are going to be actively saying so.
That’s why I’m asking YOU, all of you artists who have a Wacom and have ever had to send it in for repairs, how was your overall experience? I want to see if there is anything to worry about, whether or not it’s a good idea to send it for repairs at all. Hoping there are more good experiences over bad. It’s rather expensive for out of warranty, though not as expensive as getting a new one of similar caliber (which I wouldn’t even really want because 13″ is perfect for my set up, and the closest type they have is 16″, which it a bit too big).
Also, been thinking of starting to do commissions on @artmolonara and more of my OC art on @pyrajanison, and if I have to send my tablet away for a good amount of time, that’s gonna put a halt to that for a good long while. I want to know if it’s worth it, if there is a significant risk. Please let me know!

I have a pretty decent job
I can go to one of the two restaurants nearby for lunch, I can have tea or soda or ice cream if I’m out of energy, every contract worker gets paid regardless of how many people show up. It’s $50 a day, not much but there’s a load of perks like keeping the larger portion of sales should one of my woodcrafts sell, and I get to be by myself most of the time. Of course happy face makes happy place, I must be on happiest behavior when someone visits me.
Sometimes I still think about the coworker I got rid of.
She was an older woman who was happy to indulge in the same things I did. But she was a toxic person. I didn’t know until after I added her onto my work roster. I share my shop with other people so I don’t have to work every day. Anyway, this lady was kinda nuts apparently. She commissioned the lady next door to make saddle bags but they weren’t to her specifications. She demanded to keep them and not pay for them. Then she namecalled the leather worker on fb. She was an antivaxxer, calling everyone else weak-blooded (her daughter made her take the vaccine anyway, so I wonder if she was plain lying and trying to pretend she didn’t take the vaccine) oh and she kept missing days of work. Just not pleasant to everyone else but liked working with me.
After finding out she made the workplace anxiety inducing for my fellow coworkers, I asked my boss to help get this woman’s crap out of my shop. She was booted. I was stiff but formal with her, saying it wasn’t a good fit and she lived too far away from work.
I still feel kinda bad for taking away a really peaceful job from her. She was a senior and probably would have never found a more decent one. Every time I drink a $1 Dr Pepper or close shop for a peaceful lunch, I remember how fleeting it is to lose a good gig.
