My computer ate my time-lapse but, I am still happy that I finished a piece. It took me a little bit. Doing with a tablet. I wouldn't have told you I could at the start of the year but, I have only gotten better.
I wanna do more monster taurs now >.>

a mature and intellectual discussion on art tablet screens
ahem. ...
WHY IN THE FUCK DOES NO ONE TALK ABOUT THE AWFUL RAINBOW GRAIN THAT MATTE FILTER CAUSES
WHY IT LOOKS AWFUL AND ITS HARD TO TELL WHAT MY GRADIENTS LOOK LIKE BECAUSE I HAVE TO LOOK PAST THOUSANDS OF LITTLE GRAINS OF RAINBOW. "but it stops light from causing glare onto your tablet screen!" THE TABLET IN QUESTION REQUIRES 3 DIFFERENT CABLES AND A SEPARATE COMPUTER TO WORK WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU DRAWING THAT HAS SO MUCH DAMN LIGHT???? WHO DRAWS IN A BRIGHTLY LIT ROOM ANYWAYS??? I thought it was NORMAL to be a filthy house gremlin drawing in the oubliette I call a home, am i seriously alone on this??
Tumblr media
I added a noise filter to this screenshot to best describe what it looks like on my end and SURE it doesn't look the worst, but you gotta zoom in on shit and its hard to draw things when it feels like the rainbow grain is giving you eyeball cancer Why ? ? ? why does no one talk about this awful rainbow grain? ?? on that note anyone know if the XP pen 16 Pro(gen 2) has this awful noise (and if it does it is as bad as huion's kamvas 13)? I want to upgrade but i don't want to play Russian roulette with shipping. help would be appreciated hope you enjoyed listening to me complain.

How’s Wacom with Repairing Pen Displays?
Hey all, I’m in a bit of a pickle. I’ve been working with a Wacom Cintiq Pro 13″ for a good number of years, and it still works really well, though lately it’s been getting dead pixels and dust under the screen, which I’ve been able to ignore for a good long while but now it’s just too distracting with the appearance of one bright one. Wacom doesn’t make this model anymore, but I called them to set up a repair and it seems they do have parts for it, mainly a new LCD backing.
But the main thing that’s giving me pause is the stories I see off of reddit mainly of Wacom not doing a good job with repairs, either not doing enough, not fixing it at all, or instead replacing the hardware with something else (which I would not want, as I like this model). Now, I would like to believe that these stories are only from those with issues who rightfully complain, which is valid, though I doubt those who’ve had a good experience are going to be actively saying so.
That’s why I’m asking YOU, all of you artists who have a Wacom and have ever had to send it in for repairs, how was your overall experience? I want to see if there is anything to worry about, whether or not it’s a good idea to send it for repairs at all. Hoping there are more good experiences over bad. It’s rather expensive for out of warranty, though not as expensive as getting a new one of similar caliber (which I wouldn’t even really want because 13″ is perfect for my set up, and the closest type they have is 16″, which it a bit too big).
Also, been thinking of starting to do commissions on @artmolonara and more of my OC art on @pyrajanison, and if I have to send my tablet away for a good amount of time, that’s gonna put a halt to that for a good long while. I want to know if it’s worth it, if there is a significant risk. Please let me know!

What's like a good art tablet to be comfortable to draw in?
Like I have an Amazon tablet with a stylist I'm comfortable with but it's a completely different style than what i do on paper.
I want a tablet that's easy and comfortable enough like paper. But the closest I can think of is the iPad but I'm not the biggest fan of apple products

HEY, ARTISTS. YEAH YOU.
What tablet are you guys using?
I'm looking for a new one I think, and I wanna know if anyone has any recommendation and pros/cons about tablets they have or have considered getting. Anything would be helpful :)
I have a Huion H610 PRO, I know they came out with the V2 but idk if its worth it to get that. Also considering an XP-Pen tablet but I'm not sure.
