So there is. Exactly. One customer in this entire department store right now. One. One tourist just wandering around the aisles. Guardians help me I'm debating if this job is worth it right now.
... I could do something. Very entertaining. I could loose my job but also... Who is going to find out?

Do you think ghosts would be able to attack people through reflective shades on diya no yaru. Imagine summoning the devil by looking cool.
Anyways.

hold on, what the fuck is this about ghost murdering?
i heard it was diya no yaru today but i. er. well i was gonna ask a friend what that entails but they won't respond. is it just a stay inside celebration? i'm usually more caught up on this stuff i'm so sorry
[@pokehistoryandhexology]
Oh it's perfectly fine!!!
I really just said "ghost murdered" just because its funny, but!!
Diya no Yaru is a tradition practiced over here in sinnoh! Its practiced on the 21st of December - it's the shortest day of the year!
Simply put, the day is spent mostly/completely indoors! The common consensus is that it's safer to be outside during the day compared to the night. Regardless, the day is spent completely/mostly indoors, with any and all reflective surfaces covered, as to stop Giratina from entering your home to turn you into a ghost!
Hope I explained it well!!

It's a good thing it's Christmas Break, I'm not sure if Diya no Yaru is a valid reason to skip class, haha.

December 21st, 2023 - Diya no Yaru (Holiday)
Ichowan holiday for the shortest day of the year. They believe that if you go outside on this day, you will become a ghost. Observed by staying inside all day, ESPECIALLY at night, and praying that you will not be taken in your sleep. Offerings of raw meat may be left outside the front and/or back door.
Sinnohans are most likely to observe this holiday, as it is their heritage. Tag posts with "diya no yaru" to be seen! @ichowan may reblog posts - you can ask them in character things or subwayjoltik ooc

A little refresher on how Aitoria works
(there's been some confusion so i wanted to clear it all up)
It is an Sinnohan holiday (via the Ichowan culture, older than Celestica). It celebrates the main 5 types of love for the culture, and worships Enamorus. Hearthome hosts a festival for the event!!
Diya no Emmai - August 13: Today is about ROMANCE. It is about making out and going on dates and giving flowers to people you are attracted to. You are not giving flowers or gifts to your siblings or children.
Diya no Shinnai - August 14: This day is about community. It is giving flowers to people to dispose of excess and make others happy. It is about helping your neighbor. This is also the most typical day for any religious services.
Diya no Danai - August 15: This day is about your family. It's giving gifts to parents, children, siblings. It's making meals together to feed the rest of the family.
Diya no Peri - August 16: This day is about friendship and platonic love. You make new friends or hang out with old ones. Often spent partying and playing games.
Yaru no Aiyōbu - August 17: This day is about the self. it is spent fasting and working on oneself. In the evening, one treats themself to their favorite meal.

Edit:
You can Reblog this post to let me and others know you are participating!
and PLEASE don't be afraid to ask me questions! this is a culture made by me, so i really dont expect people to automatically know things!
Edit 2:
This is not an in-character blog. I am a mainblog for roleplay sideblogs. Please do not roleplay on this post.
If your character cannot fast, they don't have to. It's traditional (in the modern sense) to eat bland foods and protein supplements if you need them, in order for the night meal to be more rewarding.

Oh damn- kinda forgot about this account for a little bit. I guess I've been busier than I thought lately, I didn't even realize this much time had passed. Aaaanyways I realized I didn't really have anyone to complain at about the absolute bullshit I'm dealing with a work right now so back into screaming into the void.
Tomorrow is Diya no Yaru and for SOME Guardians forsaken reason my manager has become convinced that it'll be the end of the world if our DEPARTMENT STORE closes for the day. He wants me to come to work!! Who is possibly going to need, I don't know, an overpriced tshirt or something that day. Ridiculous.
I swear on my life that if I get ghost murdered or something tomorrow I'm going to haunt that man for the rest of his miserable life.

[@nifuunbakufuun asked:]
Do not worry about Diya no Yaru! As a ghost already, I am sure you would be immune to Giratina or the other efforts to turn you into one.
...
It is more about cultural perception of me.
