Movies I’ve Watched - 2023
204/?: Django Unchained (2012) - watched 11/18/23
I have seen this before, and although it still has the problems I remember, they didn’t seem as glaring as they did in memory. I think the biggest problem with it is that Tarantino had too many ideas for what he wanted to do with this character and still tried to stuff them into one movie. This movie could lose 20 minutes and be only the better for it. Still, the basic meat of the story is great, and the performances are also outstanding. Some of the stylized violence is way too much for the tone of the movie, but Tarantino just can’t help himself.
