Did you ever wish Yakou was also a partner among the other detectives from the game? Or ever think what it could have been like if Yakou was in the Mystery Labyrinth with Yuma? I mean it’s possible since Coalescence can also share other non-paranormal abilities like handwriting as Makoto was said to have done.

I think I've mentioned this before, though I can't remember what post, but one of my main predictions for Rain Code was that Yakou would be the main assistant for chapter 5. To me it felt like the perfect way to top off the game by relying on pure wit and natural discoveries rather than supernatural powers. The perfect way to end on a high note by collaborating with the chief, the one who wanted to save his city the most. I love chapter 4, it's one of the most well-written pieces of the game's story, but it sunk my battleship. Ah well, that's what AUs/alternate scenarios are for.

If they really wanted to, they could've sorta done this with Kurumi since she has no powers either. Twas not meant to be and she remains as boring as ever. Kurumi really missed out in the personality department even when chapter 5 could've saved her. I apologize for roasting her, I just needed to get that outta my system.
