This is what I wrote in the feedback section for the new discord update:

I absolutely hate that the messages like group chats and DMs are in a different tab than servers now. there was absolutely nothing broken about the way that it was laid out and displayed before, so there's no reason to "fix" it!! I also am sorely missing the ability to swipe left to look at all members of a server, the having to click on the top feels clunky and visually unpleasant. I hate being taken to an entirely different screen just to see who's online! it's an entirely unnecessary extra step that helps no one. the idea of "prioritizing messaging" by putting private messages and group chats in a tab seperate from servers is completely asinine when discord as a whole is a messaging service in and of itself! also, it's a small aesthetic change but rounding the corners of the servers when swiping to look at the servers at the side is unnecessary and unwelcome and overall incredibly displeasing to look at. speaking of swiping, making it so swiping left creates a reply to a message is the most unnecessary, confusing, and almost MALICIOUS feeling change yet, especially when swiping left had an entirely different function before. please listen to your user base and stop making so many changes that absolutely NO ONE is actually asking for and actively make the user experience worse. you have a good app, it is not broken, stop trying to fix things that don't need to be changed because you've continually only made things worse.

Going to do a Nevermoor series reread in June + July + August ? if anyone else also wants to do a reread around that time, could be fun to have more of the fandom prepping for Silverborn

Did initially make a roadmap plan to split the books up into weeks on top of already being months, so that people could focus on specific parts and discuss each week….. but between the fact that I messed it up the first time, Silverborn kept getting delayed as I planned it, and I’m actually really bad at keeping to stuff like that (looking at you, Silverborn Countdown Challenge…) I’m deciding to just go for it at whatever pace happens.

#will def be June/July but we’ll have to see if I get into August. may want to keep most of that + September as Silverborn Hype Months lol #nevermoor #silverborn #if you ever followed my rereads thoughts masterpost for my (reread?) eternal reread and wondered ‘why no hollowpox’? boy is it a doozy #beginning of the year Apple Books updated and I’m not huge on it!#and since I couldn't fix I decided I would try and delete and reinstall the app.....#…..forgetting that my books and notes are tied to the app and not saved otherwise…..#so I lost all my notes INCLUDING all my reactions and thoughts from my very first reread that I was excited to look back on and share 🥲😭😭😭#so I’ve just been in mourning and never continued out of my personal beef with the app….#so this time I think I’ll take use of all my different physical copies and read them physically to give myself a break from screens lol #this summer is just grindset time of getting back into drawing and trying to get good so this reread I also want to draw stuff alongside #like try to nail some character designs and such to make it easier for Silverborn lol #I fear I will need to figure out how to draw dragons……#anyways. if you’ve read all these tags you are now required to join in on the reread with me 🫵#this also reminds me I need to keep working / actually work on the nine spreadsheet / masterpost. will do that ✍️#I have had several drafts saved of posts I want to respond to with theories that I’ve been saving for my hollowpox reread that now I’m like #do I just save them for Silverborn?? lol

My drawing tablet’s pen is acting up uergghheggh

Might set up a new goal on kofi if im gonna change it, though I was already thinking of setting a goal anyways bcuz im probably getting a new tablet soon

update: peach is doing very well!! she's eating and sleeping normally (sleeping more than normal, really, but that's to be expected)!! after 3 days of not sleeping and a few changes in painkillers, she finally just napped for an hr then, after another day, slept through the whole night (and most of the next day). she's started following all her usual routines again and is very keen to eat! still on some painkillers, but they're not having any horrific side effects anymore

now that im not staying up to keep an eye on her all night (while also dealing with upgrading my computer and my phone and also my sister preparing to go overseas and the dogs barking and howling constantly due to all of the above), i finally got some decent sleep too and slept for about 14 hrs. so today ive got that weird shakiness that i get from sleeping too much, but hey it's better than the whole of the last week

#personal #and i have a working computer that's finally on windows 10 so that's one less thing to have background stress about #and i have a working phone for the first time in.. a year? 1.5 years? idfk. my previous phone was 16gb so i could fit like 2 apps #could barely take pictures (and couldnt store them) and couldnt update most of my apps because i couldnt update my os because no space #so every app ran slow and then eventually my phone would crash if i opened the storage section of the settings #so i couldnt even offload apps so i could delete them while keeping the data for when i downloaded them again #couldnt order medicine remotely because my chemist only lets you do that from the app (not the website)#couldnt control the aircon because that could only be done through an app #missed loads of stuff because i didnt have email notifications because i could only use my browser for emails #couldnt see tumblr polls on mobile because i couldnt update tumblr because i couldnt update my os #left the house less because i had to delete pokemon go and that genuinely helped me go for walks #ive been dealing with all that for a year so this is very exciting and such a ridiculous qol boost #it sucks how much something like that affects your life. what do you mean i need an app for everythingggg #but god im just glad peach is ok. like there was a moment when i was so stressed trying to update my computer because it wasnt working #and then she ate a small bit of food for the first time in 3 days and just. everything was suddenly fine again #and the other night i spent like 6 hrs just sitting here downloading and installing things on my computer #but it was fine because peach was on the chair next to me sleeping through the whole night and it was such a relief #my sister finally got her flight yesterday (after it was moved four days in a row) so that's just one less thing happening #ive started playing bg3 so that's cool and maybe ill get a chance to actually properly watch that new dav trailer lmao #that premiered at 2am on the first night peach was home from surgery and hadnt eaten or slept yet and i was too stressed to care about dav #and it really just went downhill for the next few days #god. ok. today is the first day i can actually breeaaaathe

Going through a straight up comical amount of irritating situations to get the stupid 4* guaranteed ticket from the welcome to sekai campaign. It Will Be Mine.

#I’m resuming this tomorrow it’s been hours now I’m just mad #I’m home because my parents are moving to a different state and I needed to pack whatever was left #and for some reason we just keep old devices when we’re done with them #so I borrow an adapter to allow me to connect my ancient unworking iPad mini to my laptop #factory reset it. i have to reset an old email to access the old Apple id to fully reset it.#it won’t connect to the wifi so I have to reset the settings. i find out it’s too old to run pjsk.#i find an old phone that should work. i reset it as well. I’m able to download pjsk & it takes 20 minutes.#pjsk crashes everytime I try to open it. i attempt to run bluestacks on my computer. bluestacks doesn’t have 64 bit for mac yet.#i get a free trial of parallels and download windows onto my laptop. this takes 40 minutes.#i try to download and run bluestacks on that. m1 macs apparently can’t run bluestacks 64 bit through parallels.#i go find the final old phone that I had forgotten about. it takes forever to charge because the charging port is fucked up. i reset it as #well. it can’t connect to wifi. i try a hotspot on my current phone. service is too awful. i try to do wifi sharing from my laptop.#you have to be connected to the router via a cable for that to work.#at this point it has been like 3 hours. I’m giving up because I’ve been down this route before #when I attempted to run 32 bit steam games on m1 mac #(wine64 doesn’t exist for m1 macs yet -> attempt to run boot camp -> boot camp isn’t a thing anymore on Apple silicon -> attempt to run #several different programs that allow me to run windows on a mac. none of them work. ->#look into linux & give up. -> attempt to implement the unfinished/unbottled wine64 code thru terminal. ->#fuck up and delete some important file & have to fix that (misery inducing) -> keep trying. i think I downloaded a Mac coding program at #some point? i realize I have zero coding knowledge and this is a mistake. -> give up and purchase crossover. game doesn’t even work. ->#3 months later update to the latest OS so I can have enough storage to play psychonauts 2. find out the $60 crossover #purchase was a bad idea because ‘heehee crossover doesn’t work on that buy the new version’ (fuck crossover).#my toxic trait is my belief that I can figure out anything via google and sheer stubbornness. usually this is true. occasionally there are #exceptions to this rule. most of them are because owning Apple products is a mistake.#i think if I reset the router tomorrow I can solve this problem but I can also just go elsewhere with better service or wait until I’m home #now it’s a matter of pride. and also free 4*/I have nothing better to do because I’m stuck here until Tuesday.#<- this is all normal behavior by the way. who doesn’t spend 8 hours ramming their head against a problem every once and a while. enrichment #mine #oh I forgot. i also looked into cloning the app but that would cost money for something that might not even work.#‘just log out and make an alt’ and risk losing my account? I’m stupid enough to overwrite it on accident.

Discord loves giving it's useful updates that do wonderful things like randomly going underneath my phone's home menu buttons making everything unuseable lol

SOMEONE SHOULDVE WARNED ME BEFORE I GOT COMPLETELY INVESTED #I know next to nothing abt dimension 20 I’m pretty sure I just saw a post abt burrows end specifically MONTHS ago and was like 👀👀👀#opened a tab with the first episode to watch later and promptly forgot about it #until last night! having a bad night and was like hrm what if I just watch smth #and I’ve been reading watership down recently!! finally got my own copy bc it was my favourite book when I was like NINE #so I am fully primed to fall in love with a story abt little animals rn and man #I am OBSESSED with this and also realising yeah I’m at a point where I could get very into tabletop rpgs now #what if. what if I just get dropout. what if I just do that. would that not be fun. I would like to see the stoats do stuff #i am so in love with Ava and her player and I understand so much more about brennan lee mulligan now. and VIOLA #viola may be my favourite character I’m obsessed with how she interacts with other characters.m #i NEED to know what’s up with thorn’s cult thing. and also thorn. what is going on there #hrrgrhehh the thing that’s holding me back is I’m allergic to subscriptions #impermanence. even though I know it’s fairly unlikely I’ll wanna watch it again any time soon I don’t like the idea that I’d have to like #in a couple years pay for it again or not be able to bc I can’t afford it even though I already paid for it once #I’m a books + cartridge games guy and it shows.#okay. Ok so. Angel right. You know the omori character named Angel- well, I used reflection (hero) to symbolize Basil’s self worth issues so you’re never gonna guess what Angel turns into- yeah. Yeah a creature that symbolizes Basil’s religious anxieties

Why is called ‘Nephilim’? Well IN THE BOOK OF ENOCH- (<- lost it, this is an omori au, why am i talking about Nephilim) which is considered one of the unofficial books of the Bible (those are a thing, yeah) (I AM GREATLY SUMMARIZING BY THE WAY) (THIS IS NOT HOW I WOUPE TALK AHOUT TJIS USUALLY BUT IT IS LATE AND I NEED TO GET THIS OUT BEFORE I FORGET AGAIN) the origin of these creatures called Nephilim is explained, these creatures are supposed to the children of angels and humans, which biblically speaking is an abomination

But for the sake of my omori au (STAY WITH ME) this is a very cool and interesting being to design, and making Angel an ACTUAL ANGEL would’ve been a little too op for that character… so what IS a Nephilim if not an Angel? Well it’s a Giant. Of course. Duh (<- again. Lost it)

Which is ✨amusing✨ because Angel is the smallest hooligan, so turning him to the largest monster in Marzenie (not counting the water beast) (ignore that) (not right now) (it’s one in the morning when I’m typing this and I am NOT elaborating at the moment) is a silly haha

Also Nephilim are very interesting and I need an excuse to put them in my work somewhere (iceberg boy has me on that giant juice) (please don’t question that)

#chattin #almost none of my apps work anymore 😭#i havent updated my phone in YEARS. i hate ios updates #im always scared im going to lose all my fucking songs despite my backups #everything requires a 15.0 update or higher.#but im at 14.7. i wonder if theres a way to just install the 15.0 update and not the most recent one #although its apple so trying to do things on ur own without them holding ur hand (for convenience) is impossible #i saw some um. very bad qol updates via my mom and my sisters phones. so i dont. want that.#this is also why i need money. i need a new fucking phone that isnt apple 😭#EDIT: i cannot do individual updates. as i assumed. alas.

Found out me thrashing apps on play store actually gets attention. My favorite is when the app team responds with "sucks that you think we suck. we will do nothing"

#checked that spam email folder #Alternatively “you dont understand but we need to make it worse to make money sucks that you don't like it”#mind if i cite your company in my suicide note? bc jfc #like if you going to respond think a little because this is worse than silence #once left a glowing review #then after a year or so that app updated and destroyed the core functionality and added subscription model #fucking innovation inbreeders #i dont swear there but i think that makes me sound more aggressive actually #also there's no place to say it so yeah play store review writing window doesn't support some automatic grammar things and it drives me mad #the complainer #<- me #im getting all the clout in the places that do not matter
