I absolutely hate that the messages like group chats and DMs are in a different tab than servers now. there was absolutely nothing broken about the way that it was laid out and displayed before, so there's no reason to "fix" it!! I also am sorely missing the ability to swipe left to look at all members of a server, the having to click on the top feels clunky and visually unpleasant. I hate being taken to an entirely different screen just to see who's online! it's an entirely unnecessary extra step that helps no one. the idea of "prioritizing messaging" by putting private messages and group chats in a tab seperate from servers is completely asinine when discord as a whole is a messaging service in and of itself! also, it's a small aesthetic change but rounding the corners of the servers when swiping to look at the servers at the side is unnecessary and unwelcome and overall incredibly displeasing to look at. speaking of swiping, making it so swiping left creates a reply to a message is the most unnecessary, confusing, and almost MALICIOUS feeling change yet, especially when swiping left had an entirely different function before. please listen to your user base and stop making so many changes that absolutely NO ONE is actually asking for and actively make the user experience worse. you have a good app, it is not broken, stop trying to fix things that don't need to be changed because you've continually only made things worse.

Discord users please do me a favor. I'm usually anti harassment but we need to make an exception for companies and we all need to harass the fuck out of discord for their new update changing the UI and visuals unnecessarily in a way that makes nothing easier and everything worse. The only way we can make them change it back is by flooding their inboxes with "reverse your latest update now you ruined discord" and I need it changed back now. Email them. Email them a scathing review on how much the new UI and visuals suck and tell them you want the changes reverted. Right now.

OPEN your got damn discord client on desktop (THE APP NOT THE BROWSER IT DOESN'T WORK FROM BROWSER)

now press ctrl + shift + i to open the console (you may have to go to app settings > advanced > toggle dev mode on if it's not showing up)

it's gonna pop out these warnings. ignore them, the code you're about to inject isn't malicious at all. (that being said, ALWAYS thoroughly vet console commands before entering them into your client)

i recommend having your phone open for the next part, just to see how cool it is. below the last console message, paste the block of code on the github page into the text field and press enter.

your phone's UI will flip back in real time, and now you have an option to toggle the setting on and off in your mobile settings. AND it works with modded mobile clients as well!! i was able to make it work on non-rooted vendetta.

what this code does is force the now-hidden old layout toggle to be viewable, since it's a server-side setting. the person who made the code said that this is likely only a temporary solution, and discord may very well remove the toggle entirely from future updates, rendering this code useless.

BUT FOR NOW enjoy being able to use modded apps without the godawful tabs v2

Discord App implementing AI based on your conversations and data

Apparently Discord is now doing sketchy AI shit.

Please spread this around so users are made aware of this change and how to combat it!

Why is it sketchy? Well because they're gonna scan and use your conversations and servers to feed the AI. This is a massive privacy breach if implemented in a way that automatically opts every user into this.

And how do you combat this? Well first off cancel Nitro, that's what got them to back off the NFT shit.

And second turn go to your Privacy and Safety settings and turn off all the Sharing options
