I like a lot of things! In fact, I love watching anime and doramas, as well as following K-Pop groups♡. I'm a fan of 90+ K-Pop groups, so you can imagine.

Note: I also like some solo singers like BoA, Henry, and Park Bom (ex-2NE1).

Of course there are other groups, but at the moment I don't remember them. When I remember, I'll put them here too.

ANIMES

Now I'm going to talk about my otaku tastes.

I can't say that I've watched that many animes. However, I've watched One Piece, Naruto (Classic and Shippuden), Death Note, Sailor Moon, Futari wa Pretty Cure, Citrus, InuYasha, Tokyo Revengers and Demon Slayer. I didn't finish all of these, but I got to watch a little (or a lot).

I confess that I have a special affection for One Piece, Naruto and Death Note. They are definitely works that saved my life.

DORAMAS

I love doramas! I will contextualize dramas here, like every kind of Asian series/show.

So I'll start with my all-time favorite dorama, Hana Yori Dango, and some of its international versions, which are Boys Over Flowers and Meteor Garden. Also, I also love Alice in Borderland, Girl from Nowhere, All Of Us Are Dead, 1 Litre of Tears (this was the saddest drama I've ever watched in my life, I cried SO MUCH when I saw it...), 14-sai no Haha, and King the Land.

I also like the Thai lesbian movies called Yes or No and Yes or No 2.

SERIES

I've also watched some series, like Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, The Vampire Diaries, The Walking Dead, Riverdale, Stranger Things, Orange Is The New Black, Euphoria, Game of Thrones (although I haven't finished most of them because I have ADHD) , and many others...

MUSIC

Besides K-Pop, I also like some solo singers like Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, Lana Del Rey, Melanie Martinez, Adele, Mitski, Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, Avril Lavigne, Madonna, Akon, Nelly Furtado, and others...

And rock bands... Like Evanescence, Paramore, Pierce the Veil, Slipknot, Linkin Park, Panic! at the Disco, Tokio Hotel and more more...

So if he hurts you it would probably be accidental 

And you can't psychologically manipulate people ‘accidentally’

Chishiya wouldn't have such movements to hit someone accidentally as well.

So let's say you guys are arguing.

You followed Chishiya into the room and gently shut the door. You weren't mad or angry at him, you just wanted to know what was going on with him. Why he seemed so distant and closed off. ‘Chishiya, baby, tell me whats wrong? Why have you been avoiding me?’ ‘Nothing’s wrong ____, you're overthinking stuff again’. 

Chishiya nonchalantly walked over to his side of the bed and began changing out of clothes to get ready for the night. As a fit of anger took over you, you yelled at him, ‘I can't solve anything in this relationship if you don't take it seriously enough!’. You calmed down and spoke in a more tender and softer voice, ‘Please just talk to me, You mean so much to me I just don't want to lose you for any reason’. ‘______... stay out of my business, if I knew you were so pushy, I never would have dated you in the first place’. ‘Take that back right now Chishiya’ ‘You know what I regret dating you-’. Tears welled up in my eyes and my hands started to shake. Chishiya sighed and walked towards the door, ‘I’m going to take a breather, hopefully you can come to your senses by then’. 

As soon as he left, your knees gave out and you slid down the wall. You knew when you started dating that Chishiya was meant to survive borderland. You would only drag him down, he was right he never should've started dating you. 

Chishiya on the other hand walked through the garden, his hair fluttering because of the wind. I shouldn't have said that to him/her/them. They were only trying to help. I felt a tear slide down my cheek, I didn't know I cared so much. I started to walk back to the room already deciding that I would apologize to _____.

When I got there, I found no traces of ______ whatsoever. The closet door was left open and I couldn't see any of their clothes hanging. That's when I knew I had officially fucked up. 

You were walking to your old apartment holding the few clothes you had. You knew Chishiya didn't want you there so you left. As you were about to turn into a hallway, someone grabbed your shoulder. In an act of surprise and self defense yo took that person's arm and effortlessly flipped them over. (All thanks to kuina btw). When you realized it was Chishiya and when you realized what you'd done you started apologizing but Chishiya cut you off. ‘First of all I apologize for startling you, second of all I shouldn't have said whatever nonsense I spewed during the argument. I was just very worried that you might die in one of the games these days and to not feel guilty, I started to distance myself from you and tried to convince myself I didn't care about you’. You giggled after listening to his explanation, ‘Come on, do you think any game could get rid of me that easily? I am dating you after all, don't underestimate me!’. ‘And umm I'm sorry for flipping you onto the ground, let me help you up’.

X3 an idea Nekorockstarninja told me on,.. X3 the premise is that Suzuki takes everyone out to a sushi place that she knows of with a small prize contest if ya eat 5 plates of sushi ya get a small prize... Suzuki once attempted to do it on her but couldn't it but this time she brought back up which happens to be the ragtag Cast members of mine that will be aiding Suzuki to get what she needs... XD hilarity will ensue

Suzuki: -opens the doors to the Sushi place as she heads inside with the others- ^^ this is the Sushi place I spoke of... ^^; where I ate like 40 plates of Sushi and got some small prizes out of it... I tried to do it alone but couldn't do it... ^^ so yea Merrick: hehe -sniffs the air of the place- ^^ heh reminds me the time when I was a lil kid Espio's uncle Seraph brought my siblings and I with Espio to a Sushi place similar to this one

Espio: heh... brings back memories doesn't it?? Merrick: it really does

Espio: to this very day I still miss my uncle but he did raise ya well

Suzuki: wait wha

Jared: when Merrick's village got attacked Uncle Yamato told them to find a person named Seraph who happens to be Espio's uncle... Both Merrick and Espio grew up as kids so they're pretty close

Merrick: soon after Espio's uncle passed we split ways on our own.. we didn't get back together until the meterex war happened and worked together with tails and the others on the war effort I was just glad to See Espio again but hanging with Vector and Charmy,, ^^; dunno how he ended up with them but they're an okay sort when I met them I was quite unsure at the time but sometime after the war I accepted them as friends... any friend of Espio is my friend those were my words when I accepted them... ^^; well as for Espio paying rent I usually see him at the door delivering pizza...

Espio: uhm.... ya back when... uhhh Tails broke his arm and leg at the time when Miss Marine was around at the time... I wonder whatever happened to that girl?? Shadow: heh... who knows Marine The Raccoon: O.o there was a girl after my name

Espio: she was the one who greeted me at the door at the time when I delivered the pizza... told her why that I had to pay rent because Vector kept going broke

Borderlands 3 thoughts

Cause I need to vent and get this off my chest

SPOILERS!!!

EDIT: i finished game and had time to think about this, even play some endgame stuff/replay the story w/ other VHs. So I made some edits below, but my opinion is pretty much the same.

They fucking killed off Maya, their only ace character, just for Ava’s character development, but they didn’t even DO that right. First off, NO ONE is allowed to mourn for Maya except Ava because Maya belongs to her. Two thirds of the 2nd gen VHs are cut from the game and Zer0 is basically a background character. They don’t say ANYTHING more about Maya than a haiku (or two) that players have to seek them out just to hear. And the people of Sanctuary don’t have anything significant to say for the siren hero who rid Pandora of Handsome Jack (who killed their beloved Roland btw). You can, however, seek them out like Zer0 to hear them say a thing or two which is, admittedly, nice. I missed this the first time around (I heard there was a bug?), but even though it’s a nice touch, they’re short and don’t quite compensate for how they essentially throw Maya away for development (or underdevelopment, in this case) of others. Plus, it’s dependent upon players taking time out of their play-through to speak with all the NPCs instead of playing the game. It’s a blink and you miss it kinda of situation. It just doesn’t compensate for the fact that they all just stand around and SAY NOTHING as Lilith breaks the news and says a few lackluster words. 

Maya is essentially reduced to a piece of character development. This is a character that many players spent hours playing as, completing multiple play-throughs and creating a variety of builds. Like any fictional character to ever exist, she’s important to players for so many different ways. BL3 was her (and her VH teammates’) time to shine just as BL2 was for Roland, Lilith, Mordecai, and Brick. But she’s robbed of that. She has no real important to the plot, only appearing for a third of the game (if even that). We pick her up cause there’s a vault key fragment on her planet and once we’ve got it, she disappears because it’s back to Rhys’ story until it’s time for her to die. She has so little importance outside of what her death does for Ava and Troy.

And speaking of Ava, she’s done just as dirty though, obviously, not nearly as much since she’s not suddenly killed off. The story doesn’t explore Ava’s feelings beyond her initial anger towards Lilith. That anger isn’t necessarily bad. In fact, it’s justified and I hate that Ava is getting so much hate. First off, Ava’s still a child and she’s grieving. Her lashing out makes sense in context and the fact that it’s towards Lilith is fine. Like I said before, Lilith’s words for Maya were rather lackluster. I get she was numb and trying to soldier on, but it felt rather dismissive considering all Maya has done for her in the previous game. So Ava calling her out not only makes sense, but was needed. The fact that none of the adults confronted Lilith made me scratch my head, but that’s not the problem. I mean, it is, but not what I’m getting at. It’s that Lilith becomes the sole focus of Ava’s anger and it doesn’t make sense. Lilith wasn’t down in the Vault. She wanted to be, but Maya talked her out of it because she lost her powers. But do you know who WAS down there, watched Maya die and did nothing (because the game forgets we’re a character)? The VHs! It would’ve made more sense for Ava to be primarily angry towards them, but also not happy at Lilith for being dismissive. But instead of an emotionally charged scene that gets the player interacting with the characters (to an extent), Ava thanks them as if they said something incredibly moving that she needed to hear and hands over Maya’s prized gun as a reward. 

Ava’s not a bad character and she definitely doesn’t deserve the hate she’s been getting, but I’ve also noticed some people don’t recognize or maybe ignore that she’s badly written (like most things in the story). Ava pretty much disappears until it’s time for her to blame Lilith and question her choices until Tannis reprimands her once. Then Ava is suddenly a fully realized character. Arc complete and charging into battle alongside the VHs despite being... what? 11yrs old? Then she’s made Lilith’s successor of Sanctuary for no reason. Why? Tannis and the VHs, who have been doing all the work and not appearing in ANY major cutscenes, are RIGHT THERE! Ava has only JUST gotten Maya’s Siren powers. What about Amara????? Wouldn’t she be a better choice for successor since she’s been a siren for years??? Or Fl4k??? Moze or Zane?? There’s this gap between Ava losing Maya and being given Sanctuary that should’ve been explored because otherwise why fucking kill off Maya and make Ava such a focal character? It’s not that Ava doesn’t deserve this storyline, it’s that she deserves the missing chunk of her arc that progresses to this outcome. 

Now let’s talk about Troy, the other character that Maya was sacrificed to develop. Obviously gaining Maya’s powers changed the dynamic between Troy and Tyreen while also igniting change in Troy’s overall personality and motivation. He started off being in the background, depending on Tyreen and following her plan until he gets a taste of independent power. Next thing we know, he’s down on Eden-6 without Tyreen’s knowledge and phaselocking us in a trap he planned by himself. They foreshadowed the fuck out of him possibly turning on Tyreen or even accidentally killing her, but when the big moment comes, they don’t deliver. Troy dies instead, essentially wasting EVERYTHING they had built up to this point. And I can only assume this was done to subvert expectations? As if that’s been going well whenever somebody tries that. Tyreen, although a cool character in her own right, hadn’t been given anything significant to pick up the slack and fill what Troy took away with his death. And following this point in the story, she’s shoved aside to give Typhon the spotlight when she needed it more to accomplish filling what should’ve been Troy’s role. When Angel died in BL2, there was a noticeable change in Jack’s demeanor. It changed the entire tone of the later half of the game and not to be completely biased, but it was so god damn good. Character deaths are only good when it ignites change to the story and the characters attached to them.... otherwise it’s just lazy shock value. I’m looking at you, Walking Dead. 

In the end, Maya dying doesn’t serve any purpose to the story. It’s used to set up Ava and Troy’s development, but the writers don’t follow through with either of their arcs and the result is just shock value. They should’ve just kept Maya alive. The gameplay is vastly an improvement to the last, but BL3 ruins pretty much says fuck the VHs. It says fuck most borderlands characters, but specifically the VHs from the second game.

Top 5 Games of 2019

It was a little tricky to construct a top 5 for this year, though there have been a couple of surprises.  I wasn’t expecting the year to be a bit crap as we are no w on the cusp once more of a new generation.  But 2012 wasn’t all that bad of a year (PS4 and Xbox One would release in 2013) and at the moment, everyone is doing alright.  PS4 has sold through over 100 million systems, Nintendo are definitely on an “on” generation with Switch, Xbox has been able to get back into peoples good books with things like Game Pass (on both Console and PC, their PC side they seem to really be turning around), there’s even interesting things happening in the mobile space with Apple Arcade.

This won’t be the last year where my top 5 games are full of current gen titles, I am expecting the new systems to drop in around November, last time it was hard to find a top 5 specific to PS4 (as I listed each platform separately back then).  It IS however, another list of mostly AAA tier games.  If you want to know what smaller more “interesting” games I have been playing, check out my honourable mentions at the end.

Also, follow me on Melee.  It’s this new image blogging service from Imgur which you can download now on the IOS App Store (its just on iPhone at the moment) and it has seemingly been built to help people share gaming related clips and images off of places like Twitter and Instagram (and err, here on Tumblr).  I posted a couple of daft clips of me failing in Modern Warfare and Destiny 2 and it didn’t take long for them to amass a few likes and comments.

5. Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order

I was about to select Gears 5 to be my number 5 until I saw sense and cast my memory back to when I started playing Jedi (all the way back in November.  I was impressed by its intense action, impressive visuals and great characters.  I especially enjoyed the 4 armed pilot who always complains.  I did feel that towards the end I got sick of managing large groups of enemies so I dropped the difficulty to get through it, but I still haven’t achieved 100% of activities on all planets so I can still go back to it one day.

4. Borderlands 3

We all knew this was coming but not even I had any idea that we would have been actually playing it in 2019 way back at the start of the year.  For me, I look at the game.  I don’t care about weird magicians or their insane sounding legal woes, all I’m interested in is the work of a team who deserved better for their last title, but am still glad returned to what they do best, looting and shooting.  I enjoyed rejoining these characters I have followed over the last 10 years, all the referenced to older games, cameos from characters from Tales From the Borderlands and The Pre Sequel and was sad to see some people go.  I still have about a year of extra content to go through and I really appreciate the efforts they have made to make the game last longer than just one playthrough through in the Proving Grounds, Circle of Slaughter and Mayhem modes.  Though I have always tended to stick to Borderlands games and create builds for each and every vault hunter, so I will be doing that.

3. Mortal Kombat 11

It’s been a while since I last put a fighting game into my end of year round up.  And I HAVE fallen off MK11 a little bit, but this entry reminded me of how impressive it is for Nether Realms to pack their fighting games with some many things to do and keep people playing outside of just going into matchmaking and fighting others.  The Vault this year is basically another little adventure full of exploration and puzzle solving and the Towers of Time give you plenty of challenge and direction of many months to come.  You also have to give the developer credit for never backing down on the brutality of the game, they must have all got their heads together after DC Universe vs. and vowed never again to make watered down versions of Fatalities.  It is a game that keeps getting better and better.

2. Call of Duty Modern Warfare

I was debating whether or not to include this years CoD.  I always get the same type of enjoyment out of it each year, people complain that it never changes but I’m glad it sticks to a formula.  Of course they are not identikit games, there are new maps, new modes, new ways of building your loadout and new touches, like how in this year you can snap to edges to stay in cover while you shoot, there’s the new special equipment system where you can drop ammo or reduce your footstep noise.  Having doors you can either peek through or smash open adds another level of strategy, there have been times where I have been able to escape being under fire by closing a door, re-positioning and then wasting whoever just wanders in.

The campaign this year, good to see it back, but whatever, the co-op mode is Spec Ops again, like it was back in MW2 and 3 but on a much larger scale, I have yet to complete one of these btw.  But as always, it’s the multiplayer that does it for me and Modern Warfare deserves credit for being what must be the first AAA game to feature cross platform play, not just launch with it.  I know that games like Fortnite are popular, but I don’t see that as a AAA title, it doesn’t have the full package, it’s just a mode and it started off small.  Call of Duty is expected to be big each year, has a lot riding on it and allowing for cross play is a big step.  I especially appreciate being able to play with a keyboard and mouse on PS4 and being able to matchmake only with people playing with controllers on PC, in fact, I have never really given the game much of a shot on PC before as I know people just fall of it, there has often been low player numbers reported on the PC versions of CoD and it looks like it won’t have that problem this time round due to cross play.

Modern Warfare still has to contend with Destiny 2 and Overwatch for my time as my main multiplayer game but it’s still as fun as ever.

1. Control

Put this down as my main “surprise” game of 2019.  A game which was not on my watch list, though I was aware of it as you can’t ignore a game from the makers of Max Payne (I did skip Alan Wake and didn’t care much for Quantum break though).  Bought it at the last minute before its release, downloaded it and was wowed by the sinister nature of the environment you run around in.  This weird fictitious US government agency which looks into paranormal activity which you seem to have become in charge of because you picked up a mysterious weapon from the deceased Director while searching for your brother.  What then follows is about 12 hours of wacky powers and odd video clips as you unearth what has been going on in this strange ever morphing building.

I especially loved how the game never holds your hand too much, the map of each floor is vague enough that you also have to rely on in-game signposting to move around, as well as a bit of memory work.  There is also great humour involved too in some of the PSA posters on a lot of the walls, the antics of the caretaker and the videos you find of Dr. Darling throughout the game.

I did have a few weird technical issues with the game throughout playing, but still found it to be visually pleasing, there was this weird hitch that used to appear after coming out of the pause screen that always threw me, it would be followed by a few moments of low performance before getting back into the smooth action.  But this didn’t stop me from having a great time with Control.  Perhaps the game that will be the most prominent in my head when I think of 2019.

the jr vault hunters || au!

so i’m a big fan of the younger characters in borderlands and me and @pumpkiinparty  started thinking what it’d be like if they became vault hunters and then this happened, if you want more info about the au (when it comes to these characters, i’ll make plots later on about the whole plot and other characters) check under the cut (btw if you want to keep up with this au it will be tagged as “the jr vault hunters au” on my blog though note that that tag wouldn’t be 1 of the 1st 5 so you’ll have to fellow my blog or the tag “borlands au”)

Tiny Tina as the bombastic leader

she was one of the the 1st two members of the team

she ended up wanting to a be a vault hunter so she could try to be like Roland

she ended up being voted to be leader after the team talked about needing someone to do some of the calls

she mainly uses Torgue guns though also uses a hand gun Lilith give her even tho ain’t good

kill skill: Tina starts to spin around throwing lit TNT at enemies while also getting higher health and shields

then the trees goes as follows

POW! tree: Tina gets a lot of bonuses to explosive weapons and adds more TNT to the trows in the kill skill

bunny tree: Tina gets bonuses speed and effectiveness with combat rifles and shotguns 

the leader tree: this tree lets Tina be able to throw health and shield packs at her allies

Davis Pickle as the fingersmith

he was the other 1st member with Tina, some of their stuff gotten stolen for a side quest so they worked together to get their stuff back and then they decided to team up more

 he decided to be a vault hunter for fun

he mainly uses Dahl guns though still hates Dahl itself

Tina named the toy tank Pickle uses “cucumber“

kill skill: Pickle deploys a remote control tank that fires it’s gun and shows Pickle stuff he otherwise wouldn’t see with a camera on the front

the trees are as follows:

i’ll be taking that! tree: he gains buffs based on other vault hunters at random, so may get a buff to Fire guns and SMGs due to his buffs being based off Lilith for a time

shocking amount of cash tree: Pickle gains buffs with the more money he has as well as buffs to shock damage

those who don’t learn tree: Pickle adds to cucumber bits from two old forgotten bots, cucumber is able to heal Pickle and his allies while using shock bolts to damage enemies

Angel as the Siren

so Angel was reanimated by The Watcher and then went to Sanctuary so she could be safe

she wants to be a vault hunter as a way to make up for she was forced to do and just who dad was in general

Dr Zed found a way to keep her alive with Eridium while also letting her move around freely and being able to slowly be able to lessen the supply so to help get rid of the Eridium addiction

Pickle got her to join the team, cause he saw that vault hunter teams with a Siren seem to end in less death and betrayal

she uses mainly uses Submachine guns and Shotguns and likes to use Maliwan guns

due to her phaseshift she can help claptrap use his kill skill better with it being less random

kill skill: Angel deploys a set of wings that are a part of her Eridium backpack, letting her glide around the fight, when she takes off any enemy near her will take fire damage, she can also Slam as if she was using a oz kit

the trees are as follows:

the Guardian tree: lets her give passive buffs to her allies in addition to healing support tools

the heroic sacrifice tree: she gets stronger buffs to give to others the more she is in fight for your life, she is also able to get hurt by teammates

the spider tree: she gains skills that let her set up a enemy taken down by her teammates, she also gets buffs to her Elemental weapons 

Claptrap returns as the Fragtrap 

Pickle give Claptrap back the program that let Claptrap fight and added in a stair-climbing wheel 

Claptrap join the team to help the younger vault hunters cuz he knows it’s hard to be a vault hunter, he was the 3rd to join

he still has the same kill skill and trees, he is also a higher level then the rest of team due to his time on Elpis

he can let Angel get into Hyperion systems by hacking him, togetter they can also track any Glitch weapons

at some point he will unlock a new skill tree

working in the shadows tree: Claptrap gets buffs when letting teammates get hurt, buffs to shock damage, and at the end of the tree Claptrap unlocks the Action Package “still here”, when using this Action Package Claptrap turns black with silver details and uses a eye Laser and a Cannon that works a bit like a smaller Moonshot Cannon (the one used by EOS)

4. Does your F/O have any battle scars? 

Aside from the ones on his face...not really? I know the fandom HCs that he has a ton all over but nah. They base it solely on his face...

7. What is your F/O fashion taste?

Black, with boots and jackets because they just feel right for him. Tight pants or ripped jeans. I imagine that he wears a scarf as Braig to offer the security of a hood since the guard uniform doesn’t have one. Fashion sense of a goth or punk, personality of a jock.

8. How tall is your F/O?

He has no official height, but he’s 5′9′’ I know it. Someone used Sora’s KH3 models to create a chart for the characters and apparently he should be like 6′2′‘ but the models aren’t consistent between games so I don’t trust it one bit.

10. When is your F/O birthday? 

For fandom it’s 2/2 (otherwise known as Xigbar Day) but Luxu was born in late October, making him a Scorpio (because...the Ancrene Wisse theming). (source: dude trust me)

11. Does your F/O know how to cook? If so are they good at it? 

Barely, he knows how to cook enough to get by. I mean if you’ve lived for hundreds/thousands of years you gotta know how to cook for yourself.

12. What is your F/O favorite flavor?  (sweet, sour, bitter, salty and umami (savory)) 

Savory, salty and bitter are preferred, neutral to sweet, dislikes sour. In Braig/Xigbar’s body anyway, in his original body he liked Sweet and Salty and disliked Bitter.

13. If your F/O could be a fan of any video game what do you think it would be? 

Splatoon and Perfect Dark on n64, the latter being a bonding thing for us in particular. He also likes Fallout, Zelda and Borderlands, he tried Pokemon but decided it wasn’t for him after a few games, making me sad.

15. What color are your F/O eyes? 

Xigbar’s is a nice yellow, Braig’s were brown before the Nortening, and I HC that Luxu’s eyes were also yellow.

16. Does your F/O have any tattoos? If not do they like or hate the concept of tattoos? 

No, he’s had several bodies and thought tattoos would make him get too attached, why bother getting them when you might need to take a new vessel tomorrow? He would like to have some though, maybe as Xigbar he can since he won’t be changing any more.

He got his ears and tongue pierced <3

19. Is your F/O a cake or pie person?

Pie pie pie, cake is fine every once in a while. But he loves a hot pie fresh out of the oven.

26. What harry potter house would your F/O be in? (Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin)

He’s both Hufflepuff and Slytherin. Outwardly he’s very Slytherin but deep down he’ll always be a Hufflepuff.

27. If your F/O was in “avatar: the last air bender” what type of bender would they be? (air, water, earth, and fire)

Airbender, since it fits his Space powers most, but he wouldn’t follow the Air Nomads’ traditions. Peace and non-violence and all that? No thanks, he does what he wants.

28. Is your F/O LGBT+?

He’s Non Binary and Bi. He’s taken on both amab and afab bodies and experimented, he’s too old for silly Gender nonsense. He doesn’t really specifically ID as NB or Bi, Genderfluid and Pan work too but he legit does not care for labels. He doesn’t care for other people’s genders and doesn’t know nor care what his own is. Though, he switches pronouns per vessel since he has to pretend to be other people. He has a preference for he/his and they/them pronouns and amab vessels for his own.

33. Do you have any silly nicknames or pet names for your F/O? 

I’m not really one for pet/nicknames bc I embarrass easily, but he calls me Babe among others and I’m autistic and pick up on habits of others so...I’ll call him Babe every now and then and get flustered when he points it out. I used to call him Xiggy early on but it was such an obvious and easy nickname that I dropped it. I suppose calling him Luxu counts? Since he likes me calling him by his old assigned name.

36. Have you ever had a dream with your F/O in it? 

TONS!!!! And we’re dating in the dream world too so I know it’s legit! Several dreams I’ve had where we’re definitely together as a couple and it makes me so happy to have them! I can’t really talk about the last one we had for Reasons, but the one before that, he was bragging about how he was around when the BotW shrines were built and proved it to me by showing me some while we were traveling the world. “Shouldn’t you be leaving them hidden for the Hero to find?” “The Hero? As if, I don’t care about that guy. I’m showing it to you because I want to. :)”

My first dream actually happened right after I started crushing but I can’t talk about it for.....Reasons, hehe.

39. What is your relationship like with your F/O?

Lots of teasing, mostly from him, sometimes from me. Lots of fun times, we enjoy cuddling and watching things and sharing memes. We’re both mentally ill so we try to support each other, like him constantly encouraging me bc of my low self-esteem and, with him, he struggles with being open about things because he’s had to hide himself for far too long, so I try to help him ease up, but I never tried to force myself into his business and he appreciates that. We both struggle with identity issues so that’s a common point for us too.

40. How long have you been with your F/O? (or at least been interested in them?)

I developed a crush in I believe October of 2015, started dating in Febuary of 2016 and we’ve been married since April of this otherwise hell year.

41. Where is your F/O from? (as in born)

Daybreak Town, which doesn’t exist anymore :( it was remade into Scala Ad Caelum but that’s gone too. The last place he’s “from” was Radiant Garden/Hollow Bastion.

44. What is your F/O’s most valuable possession?

The black box the MoM entrusted to him that he may or may not have lost, but it’s all good cause he found it and it’s safe.

Life is Strange : Before the Storm Episode 1 : Awake

Repost from previous blog. Warning, Life is Strange and Life is Strange Before the Storm spoilers (not huuuuge spoilers but still, so you do you.)

Last night I was fixating on my ps4, watching the countdown, waiting for midnight croissant-time (Paris GMT) to be able to play Life is Strange : Before the Storm that I pre-ordered (Deluxe version that allows you to have bonus outfits, mixtape mode and a bonus episode at the end with Max). So the clock stroke midnight and I played until 3.30am.

You have to know that when I play, I go everywhere, I talk to everybody, so if you don’t, I guess you can finish it in 2h30.

I was really nervous as I hit « New Game » as I was really expecting it, to learn more about Chloe and Rachel, but knowing it was from a totally different studio and that the Chloe I fell in love with in Life is Strange wouldn’t be the same as her voice actress, Ashly Burch (a.k.a the best voice actress ever, sorry not sorry but a 71hrs platinum of Horizon Zero Dawn and a platinum in the first Life is Strange will do that to you. And Borderlands. And I mean I saved her grandpa and fought Baba Yaga for her in Rise of the Tomb Raider so…) wasn’t able to come back as Chloe. I didn't know that when I pre-ordered it, and knowing the reasons why I kind of regretted giving them money. Link if you want to know more.

So in a mix of fear and excitement I started to play and didn’t stop for almost 4hrs (except for some screenshots and pitiful tweets)

Story

No mosh pit for you shaka brah.

The story begins with Chloe wanting to go to a concert, kind of a playground intro as it shows you the ropes. You make your first graffiti (Chloe’s version of Max’s pictures), you talk to some people, you ponder in front of the fire to think about your shitty teenager life and when you try to enter, you have your first « Backtalk Challenge » which is a list of insults/arguments to help you talk your way into what you want.

So you enter the concert and then you meet your angel, Rachel Amber. And it goes really fast from there.

Basically it’s love at first sight for Chloe, and the next day you ditch school to spend it with Rachel, flirting with her like crazy (if that’s your choice -even if I feel that no matter your choice you end up making a fool of yourself) and that’s basically it. The core of the episode -minus some weird dreams about your dead father and some family drama- was Chloe trying to please Rachel Amber and Chloe falling in love with her and Rachel kind of returning those feelings but when you’re 16, nothing is simple.

Although I liked it, it felt really fast for me. I do believe in love at first sight but this story happening 3 years before the OG Life is Strange, I’m wondering how long the girls are going to spend together before Rachel goes missing. The short life expectancy of the game, being a 3 episodes game, is probably the reason why it’s all happening so fast. I’m kind of wondering if it’s not just a « let’s give the gays what they want right away » as we already know Chloe had a special bond with Rachel. Maybe I would have preferred a slower burn. Even William is on it.

The ending of this episode was kind of predictable, with a question that I read a few times « Did Rachel have powers? »

I stayed away as much as possible from trailers, theories and all but I think it was a legit question to have about DeckNine implementing a supernatural element into Before the Storm or not.

Dialogs

Ugh. Okay.

First of all, the writing.

I know we are playing a 16yo who lost her dad, but some of Chloe’s lines were so cringy it made my heart ache. In the first Life is Strange Max had some « loser-Max » lines that I thought were really funny but in Before the Storm, it looks like they are trying too hard for her to be emo. We know, Chloe is a rebel. But shit.

And in another hand, some lines made me burst into laughter. The scene with Rachel where they invent people’s life was really funny, Chloe’s « flirting » skills felt real and spoke to the 16yo me, and that tabletop game session was one of the best thing I’ve seen in a while (I suspect someone with A.B initials helped write that but I obviously don’t have any proof of that.) written by Christopher Means.

Some prime Chloe Price as « People can eat a dick », her love of booty and of course her first mention of « hella » were mandatory but the delivery of those lines. Man.

I’m not going to compare the actors with the previous ones (not only Chloe’s voice actor changed but basically all of them -although I have doubts about Chloe’s mom but she doesn’t have the same Southern accent so…) because it wouldn’t be fair. But in my opinion Chloe’s voice actress, even though I’m sure she did the best she could, was flat. Her delivery was pretty monotone and even if sometimes I was hearing the old Chloe in the musicality of her voice, it wasn’t it a lot of the time. Rachel’s voice was a lot better than I expected for the few images I saw before, but in the end it was really a shame that seeing the characters you once knew and loved/hated meant you wouldn’t be able to hear the characters you once knew and loved/hated.

There was also another problem in the rhythm of the dialogs that were in « cutscenes » (meaning you don’t have a say in them) as there was some latence at some points, like a silence before the second part of a sentence or when someone answers to someone else. I guess it could be fixed to make it a bit snappier and more real.

Characters

Chloe Price

As I said before we meet a younger natural haired colored Chloe, and the roles are kind of reversed with the OG Lis. In Before the Storm, Chloe is the one trying to follow Rachel’s idea, trying to please Rachel, to be cool with the most popular girl in Blackwell. She’s not the alpha to Max’s beta anymore. She lacks confidence, she doesn’t have friends and it pains her.

Rachel Amber

Aaaah Rachel. Rachel Rachel Rachel. We heard so much about you. Blackwell’s most popular girl. You didn’t disappoint. Witty and sassy and sexy. Just like Chloe. It’s kind of difficult to trust her, knowing what we know from the OG Life is Strange, so I’m not giving her my heart just yet (you know, the pics in Frank’s trailer and stuff). Even though the choices were pretty easy to do as we know Chloe loves her (asshole).

Old Faces

Funny to see Nathan being bullied, Victoria being Rachel’s kiss ass, the science teacher and the skater we knew Chloe was familiar with in Lis. And Frank I hope you’ll have some beans.

New Faces

I decided that Eliot is the new Warren. Except he may be Chloe’s bf ? Ex-bf ? He left a note about a two month anniversary and Chloe said her v-card had been punched (that was hilarious btw).

I really liked Stephanie, she was really something. Can I please date her instead? Even if she crushes on Rachel.

We got a new bully, a guy named Drew who bullied Nathan (whom we learned bought his way into the team) and we have a new security guy who makes really good music.

Choices

Before the Storm works on the same mechanics as Life is Strange, meaning you have choices to make. The ones you faced in episode one seemed pretty inconsequential, but I guess the game being a prequel doesn’t give you much options to change the story. Unlike Max, it’s really nice that they don’t torture us after every choice, knowing you can’t undo them. (I’m thinking about the paint on Victoria’s face, whether you chose to take a pic or be nice to her, once you did what you did Max automatically say she should have chosen the other option.) Although you have a very easy way to go back with the « Load last save » option which is an easy way to explore other dialog options or other choices.

But it’s kind of hard when you know what you know. I chose to help Nathan, but it won’t change what will happen in Life is Strange. And I was kind of nice to David even though you can’t betray LiS Chloe as it wouldn’t make sense to have her being super nice to him and then angry in the sequel.

But honestly, the best option of the game was probably being able to pet the dog.

Life is Strange legacy

There were a lots of elements reminding me of Life is Strange (as it should) with a lot of mentions of Max that freaking broke my heart. You are able to see Chloe’s texts and Max not answering (freaking bitch) and you had some nods to the LiS plot as Rachel saying she could just leave at any given moment without telling anybody.

The soundtrack is in the line of the first one but a little bit more rock to fit Chloe’s taste, and the bonus outfit with the design we knew as Max’s was a sweet idea. Some line as a guy wanting Rachel to pose for his portfolio. (I’m obviously not going to list everything)

Chloe is also keeping a journal that she dedicated to Max because she doesn’t want to risk her not answering and damn, my heaaaart. There are a lot of little things screaming « Chloe is gaaaaay » and I honestly wish it was a little more subtle (but nice Blade Runner dream Chloe.)

It’s also difficult as a Pricefield shipper to be totally into it, because in my heart Chloe belongs with Max, someone that truly appreciates her, never used her and because we were Max. So we wanted her to be happy. Even if we knew Chloe loved Rachel. But without Rachel there wouldn’t be a blue haired Chloe Price so I have to put her needs and her young love before my own agenda.

Next episodes From the pictures presenting the two next chapter, we can assume that the girls will go on a roadtrip, probably to try to leave Arcadia Bay. And in the last pic, Chloe is wearing a flannel we all know as the “ready for the mosh pit shaka-brah” shirt and her legendary tri-bullet necklace.

So yeah, it’s a prequel to Life is Strange, from another studio, with new actors, but overall it was pretty decent and I’m looking forward to the next chapter (even though they lose points for using Comic Sans a few times.) I really got the feels at some point, I laughed, I got really emotional during the junkyard scene with the car, and even though it wasn’t perfect, I still want to protect Chloe Price at all costs. So that’s a win. Not a huge win. But it’s one. SO I recently found a message I wrote to myself, answering just some stupid questions, but I wanted to post them here and then reanswer them because apparently I made this New Years Eve 2015 into 2016.

End of 2015/Start of 2016: 

Current number of followers: 28 The last thing I REALLY posted was the "You cannot YIFF the cat, sir", and I'm very proud of that. I'm currently about to make a post with Bill being the Prettiest Girl at the Party. Bloomy is gonna kill me..... 

2017: I have 238 followers, for some reason. Not quite sure how, but I won’t complain. Last thing I personally posted was bragging like a jackass about RvB haha.

Friends made through Tumblr: only Bloomy, but that really doesn't count at all. (Here's to talking with y'all more and maybe makin some more online friends!!) 

2017: Bloomy you always count. And I adore the friends I have made on this site. (Hatey, Peeps, Wandy, I love you three so much). There are some people I follow and are mutuals I’d love to get to know as well though :D

Current thoughts: Damn I have an entire play to reread and sound design for. 

2017: I am so tired, and I won’t foreseeably have a break until four weeks from now when the play I am working on is solidly on its feet.

Current Book: Ready Player One. Really good, btw

TV shows/Fandoms: just got back into Supernatural (Which we don't take seriously, giving us some of the greatest jokes like asking if a character "Is gonna cwy wittle baby", Dean's mom, how Sam and Cas get bullied on the playground, and Mom bingo (the idea Cas has a list of all the characters moms and is trying to bang them so he can get " Bingo"). Along with the idea that I can quote the line before the character says it and fortelling what will happen) Also, Gravity Falls (Just got the news its last episode is Feb.15) and Wander Over Yonder.....can't think of anything else show wise.....I guess Fandom wise, also Undertale

2017: So....so much TAZ and RvB. And Voltron now that it is back. Looking forward soooooooooooooooooooo hard to Brooklyn 99 like DUDE. And while I am not in the fandom, Tales from the Borderlands will always be in my heart forever. Also I haven’t watch Rick and Morty yet like wtf? 

Ships?: I mean I usually make fun of all ships (not the IDEA of shipping, I just like making fun OF ships. It's funny and humorous to me), but Fiddauthor is good, and Supernatural reminded me I really like Destiel. Hmmm, I'm sure there are some other ships...eh, oh well. You know what this goes up today next year so yeah, I can get on board with people who ship Syl and Peeps  

2017: Just ship all of everything. Shipping is great when wars are not forged around them.

Best Part of 2015: Australia, making new friends, finally feeling at home in college by my senior year. 

2017: Having found a job that I really enjoy in theater, learning about my love of writing and trying to teach myself and learn more to improve my writing skills. Having friends at work, still being able to be friends with old college friends and a family who loves me.

What do I think 2016 will bring?: Graduation, the fear of not getting a job, the actuality of probably getting a job in theater after fretting for a while, more friends and opportunities, staying in touch with friends and family, the hope I can travel again. 

2017: Hopefully the rest of 2017 will have me grow in my theater job, and that it will become easier, and that I will have time to write. Possibly go back to school in order to creatively write. Continue to talk with people and be more open towards new opportunities and become more willing to take risks.

 Anything to improve on?: Sound Design Skills, maybe tone it down a bit in the real world with not being a stereotypical smol angry. 

2017: Not feel like everything is out of my control, not have a panic attack, learn that I don’t fuck everything up.

MY 100% GENUINE ACTUAL DAILY ROUTINE

Now obviously I will be talking about weekends of days off from College. College days are literally the same except there's a 6 hour gap of work then when it's over I go straight to laziness. So, I wake up at around 9am, then sleep in for around 30 - 90 minuets depending on how much sleep I got the night before. Then when I do get up I put on my lazy clothes that are literally just joggers and a 4ft long black top. (I'm 6'1 so the top covers like 2/3 of my body). Then I have breakfast. Usually an omelette or healthy cereal like Fruit and Fibre or something else that old people eat. Then I browse through the messages people sent me whilst I was asleep, which will then lead me to have a conversation with like 3 people at a time for about an hour. Then I either play video games (Borderlands 2 🤘🏻) or watch YouTube videos on my Xbox One. Probably like Jacksepticeye or Jeremy Kyle or even some Logic Pro X tutorials cus I wanna expand my music making knowledge, you feel me? This usually lasts until around 3pm. Around this time, I usually get an urge to play my guitar, drums or draw. If I don't, I'll message like 5 or 6 friends asking to meet up so that I have something to do until like 8 or 9pm, then just have a shower and go to bed. If I don't have people to meet up with, I play guitar, drums and or draw cool stuff and post the drawing on my Instagram if I think it's good enough. (Follow me btw @oceansatemycake) That will last until like 6pm. Then I make dinner. If I'm feeling healthy, something vegetarian, but if I'm gonna work out then something that's high in protein like meat or something. If I'm not feeling healthy I'll just order a pizza but that's rare cus being healthy is pretty dope. After that I'll just watch more YouTube videos, have a shower at around 7 or 8pm and brush my teeth, check for any wicked spots and shiz cus I'm ugly lel, then shave my face if I need to. After that, I'll watch something quiet on YouTube like ASMR and message a few of my friends that make me happy like Ceilidh or Kat or something cus I like to end my days on a happy thought. Then I'll just keep doing this until I fall asleep. Oh, and I TOTALLY don't masturbate like at all. No waaaaaaaay, it's evil and the bible says no lmao.
